The entire place was disgusting. The floors tiles are cracked and absolutely filthy. There was a massive crack in the wall. The countertops behind the front counters looked rotted. They barely have anything for drinks... in a cafe... Apparently their espresso machine has been down for months?! (With no idea when it will be fixed...mind you.) There were practically no syrups for the coffee. It seemed to be in complete disarray. Where are management and the owners?! The staff were clearly trying their best. Except, when I was leaving I heard an employee in the kitchen loudly swearing, yelling, and slamming things and I was appalled. I haven't been to the Copper Crust in a few years and the state of this restaurant is jarring. I will not be back. The owners and management need to step up. read more

Ventured across the river this morning from Lancaster just to have breakfast and so very glad we did! The cheddar biscuit was perfect (I had The Swank). Love, love, bakeries, always part of our travels, and Copper Crust is right in my backyard,yea! Came home with 2 loaves of bread & assorted pastries. Kudos to the bakers & friendly down to earth folks at the stands/cafe. The big bags of Sir Galahad flour sitting 10 feet from me cinched it for me, a real bakery! They coffee is always been a good choice. I haven't had anything else to drink from here besides a Café Americano. So I can't speak to the other drinks. The food taste great. But I recently found out they use rapeseed (Canola) oil in all their baked goods. So I will not be eating any of their baked goods. The owner told me they use cheaper oil because it's cheaper. Back of house is not clean in the slightest, tips from customers are not being distributed to staff, as well as firing an employee based on false assumptions about calling out when it was communicated with management that their medication was causing them to be ill-- then was not going to fire a back of house member for a domestic violence situation on the clock and had to be pushed to fire them. read more

There were two other customers talking to each other while we were eating. One of them was a (very) loud talker and the owner quietly and discretely went up to her and said he could hear her across the dining room and reminded her other people (us) were eating and would she please lower her voice. He did this with sensitivity and respect but it worked and we were able to enjoy the remainder of our meals in peace. When the loud talker left, we thanked the owner and told him we had never seen anyone do such a thing before. That was just awesome! The sandwiches and soup are so amazing and it's wonderful to support a small, local business. I suspect I'll be back in the area in the next few months and you can believe I will be back and bringing another coworker along.
