You will see a "Shhh" sign. Next to it is a black door. If you go through that you will have a much more speak easy environment. Don't fret. No password needed. The drinks are great! The food is a mixed bag. The truffle fries were soggy and had only a mild truffle taste. But the fried goat cheese was excellent! The atmosphere is great if you can get a seat in the small lounge area. Sitting at a tiny table for two, or at the bar on a busy night can be quite loud, so make your reservations early. We came for brunch, small bites, and drinks. Drinks were good. Food was not worth it. Tea sandwich I ordered was supposed to be prosciutto, cheese, and caramelized onion and warmed. It came out with cold prosciutto, cheese, and some arugula. Had to send back to warm and came back cold again. The other sandwich at our table came out with some soggy juice on it. The shrimp cocktail was one shrimp on a shot glass with some cocktail sauce the deviled eggs are very small and $3 each. They were basic and alright just not worth the price. Service was not great. After a yelp event on Friday we were pumped and not ready to call I it a night so we moved a few blocks down to this business to continue our evening. I had never been here but had heard a lot about it. Wow I loved the atmosphere and vibe in thIs place. I love although limited the local beer selection. And the menu of mixed drinks is amazing and diverse. The decor was pleasing and lighting is low. I was surprised on the noise level it was not bad at all for the size of the place. THe bartenders was friendly attractive to look at and very good at mixology. I am impressed. The prices are higher but you are also paying for a good atmosphere so I didn't feel it was too much more and was fine with it. The bathroom was clean and employees helpful. Highly recommend you check this place out. I sat at the bar but next time I will try out a different spot in this venue and update. read more

This bar has been around for a while. I had not gone in since I had heard not so good things about the place. I had recently attended an activity here and found it to be nicer that I expected. Second time we sat at the bar and were taken care of by Miss Mary Katherine who is a phenomenal mixologist! She's also super sweet, helpful, and knows her way around. My lovely date wanted something similar but not as sweet as the Paloma on the menu and after a few questions and back and forth with with MMK she delivered a perfectly balanced not too sweet version of a Smokey pineapple Paloma. She nailed it! Ordered some tacos and Elote which were all so delicious! Kitchen was running a man down but we got our food in a relatively quick manner. I hadn't been back to the Copper Lounge for a loooonnnggg time, and when a friend suggested it after an evening of Tango dancing, we said sure. I was very pleasantly surprised. It's classy and Art Deco vintage inside. There was a group of us and they were kind and let us just hang at the bar till an area opened up. The drink menu was so fun! I got a spice trade drink & someone else in our group got a Grady. Both were fantastic and flavorful. For food I ordered the truffle fries. They were hot and potent, so if you don't like truffle, don't order them. The fries had good texture and were perfectly done. My husband got a Greek salad type thing and it was on the small side, but tasty. The nacho plate was huge and very pasty. The bathrooms were very nice and clean and tastefully done. I'm looking forward to going back to try more of their fun drinks! read more

I already liked this place, but now I've been half a dozen times more and I love it. First: the minor complaints in my previous review are a thing of the past. The staff has improved in the attentiveness department. The water glasses are still small, but frequently refilled! ;) Beyond that, I feel taken care of: the bartender offered to take our coats one night when I went with a group that was dressed up; a few days ago I stayed until last call with some girlfriends and a server walked us to our cars so we would be safe. There is an overall friendliness that makes you feel welcome, well balanced with a level of professionalism that keeps it feeling classy. They've also added some low ABV drinks to the menu, and two delicious non-alcoholic concoctions that make this former cocktail connoisseur who developed an annoying alcohol intolerance feel like I'm drinkin' the good stuff. Now on to even more good stuff: Green chile mac and cheese is delicious. A friend ordered nachos to share the other night and the number of times people at the table said, "These nachos are GOOD, right?!" was ridiculous. So the food continues to impress. Also impressive is the special menu for Tiki Thursdays. Hello! Food specials too! And they serve tiki cocktails in real tiki mugs and play great Polynesian, surf and other tiki-appropriate music all evening. I moved here from SoCal and was spoiled by going to some of the world's best tiki bars for years on a regular basis. Copper Lounge on Thursdays is a little island of happiness in the desert that I'm so grateful to have discovered. (I haven't checked out their other theme nights yet, but I've heard good things about them.) Happy hour is dirt cheap. I hope the Duke City appreciates how rare it is to be served such finely crafted cocktails with artful, meticulous garnishes at the normal price, let alone the discounted price. A common sentiment I've heard from friends who walk in for the first time, a stranger in the bathroom, and that I've said myself: This doesn't feel like Albuquerque! We found them while looking for a late night place passing through Albuquerque for a night, and were pleasantly surprised. I was looking for adventurous drinks, and Daniel behind the bar was happy to accommodate! The drink flavors were inventive and unique, with the back flavors made in house. We had the pizza made in house, and it was good , but cannot speak for the rest of the menu. They have a cool vibe, with nice lighting and only old movies on the TVs ( no sports), the only thing I would change is the music selection ( a lot of rap on our visit). read more

I have been to the Copper Lounge on several different occasions. Plenty of times before their renovation and a handful after. I will start by saying that I absolutely love the style of decor they upgraded too also. They're really honing in on that whole 20's vibe. They re-tufted some of the booths and have some new lighting/chandeliers to match the look. Vintage and fun. They do offer food and are open for lunch and dinner even offering a nice taco tuesday with $1 tacos all day. I think there is even a discount on some of the beers as well on taco tuesday. I do like their tacos and can't speak for the other items on their menu although I am interested in coming back to try their pizza. Oh an they also do Karaoke on Wednesday nights! My most recent visit was for NYE. It was surely a fun night, arriving fairly early so as to get a seat/table. We even managed to get some food ordered before the kitchen closed down. I just found it interesting that they didn't do a countdown at midnight! Kind of a NYE staple, so was surprised that it didn't happen. However, Copper Lounge is a lot of fun and worth a stop by if you are in the neighborhood. Pleasantly surprised by The Copper Lounge. Came in early on a Friday night. As you might expect for Nob Hill, the parking situation isn't perfect, so you may have to park up the road a bit in a residential area. However, The Copper Lounge is certainly worth a short walk. Stepping in the entryway, you can turn right into a gorgeous patio bar, or left into the bustling interior. They card on entry, which is my preference, rather than having to deal with getting out your wallet once you're seated. The interior is fairly dimly lit, so you don't get to see much of it, but it does lend the place an upscale vibe. Kentucky Ninja Cocktail - 5/5 Smooth suntory toki whiskey, burbon, honey and lemon make this cocktail a pleasant, warming experience. Nachos - 5/5 I'm generally not a nacho guy. However, the nachos here are great. Enormous pile of chips with high quality queso and black beans. Add meat if you're hungry. Great deal for the price. Tuna Tartare - 3/5 Very fond of raw tuna, so it's unfortunate to report that this one wasn't a winner. Sort of like a tuna bruschetta? Tuna at Gecko's blows this one away. Could use a rework. Came here twice during our weekend visit to Albuquerque and had an enjoyable time each visit! We loved how exotic the drinks were, the super friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the beautiful decor inside (it felt like we were in a Gatsby movie!). My favorite drink was the Saturday Morning which is essentially leftover cereal milk mixed with some whiskey. It might sound odd but definitely worth trying. It comes in a milk bottle with a straw, which really makes you feel like a kid all over again! In-case the Saturday Morning drink might be too weird for you, be sure to try the Kentucky Ninja (if you like Lavender and Whiskey) or Copper Cocktail (Earl Grey and Gin!). read more

There are two sides and this is specifically for the copper lounge. As many have said, it used to be a cool, dive bar vibe. Now they are trying to do the speakeasy thing. They did minor renovations (new flooring, new light fixtures, pearls on the walls (?), redone bathrooms, but the majority of it is the same, with an EXPONENTIAL price increase. Drinks are about $15 a piece. I got an old fashioned and it was the tiniest drink I ever got! It's a cool experience but I'm not likely to go back.? read more

I really wanted to love this place. I love speakeasies. But although the food and drinks were quite good, it was incredible spendy. But my biggest complaint though, is the music. It completely and totally ruins the speakeasy vibe. The music was ear splittingly loud and ultra modern and it felt like it belonged in a 20 something dance club. A speakeasy, if that's what you are going for, should have jazz or something else indicative of the speakeasy era. The loud awful music will keep us from returning. We went for Taco Tuesday and was impressed with the Tacos and decided to order a Cheeseburger, which was also in the ranks for being at least in my top 10 for burgers in town, flavorful, fresh and well presented. The only thing I was disappointed in was no desserts, that is a big bummer as I love my Dolci, the staff member said we focus on our cocktails, do they not know with a Cocktail in one hand and Dolci in the other you can rule the world. Work on it!! I'm happy that The Copper Lounge is back, not least of all for the strong Happy Hour offerings. Beer deals and a number of great food options provide choice at a great cost. Recently, I sampled the margherita pizette, an appropriate size for $5, but of such high quality as to be worth much more. The chicken sliders are also worth a try, a well-herbed take on a Southern mustard-and-pickle classic. And of course, Taco Tuesday is a thing. Rest of the week, tacos are three for $9 or four for $12; on Taco Tuesday, they're all just a buck apiece. The fish tacos are exemplary, and the pork also quite good. The chicken tacos are average, but for the price, there's not a whole lot to lose. I've also tried the tuna tartare, which turned out to be quite a large serving. I'd suggest it for a group of four to share. Again, at $12, this menu item feels like a great deal. The front section is more in the casual side, but the lounge features a bigger bar and more intimate tables. This place definitely calls for repeat visits. read more

Came with the Albuquerque Whiskey Society, first they asked my group of six people to move from our booth table because they had a reservation for the booth. Ok, they said we could move the the disco ball room. I was sitting drinking and eating there with my group and we were told AGAIN that we had to move from where we were sitting. They were no longer going to serve us and we had to move. Ummmmm, where were we going to move to? The bar was full at this point and we were all still drinking and eating. So, apparently none of this mattered to them because they were no longer going to serve us. They were forcing us to move from where they told us to move to. Eight paying customers that were willing to keep drinking and eating at this spot. I Just shook my head, disappointed, and felt like they should of accommodated is way better then this. Went last night (Wednesday). The whole place smelled like toilet bowl cleaner and sewage issues. We were greeted immediately with a "hi, our kitchen is closed." The service at the bar top was okay, but they allow the homeless in there when it's not busy I guess? There was one at the bar top next to us arguing to get served alcohol without a drink. This place used to be awesome. Feels like it's under new ownership and they are suffering from schizophrenia. Menu is very simple and their offerings are lower end with items like pizza and poutine fries but then they try to glitz it up by adding prosciutto. They're food and decor don't match and the service is horrible. The servers and bartenders are all great friends which means they spend more time fraternizing with each other rather than serving their customers. We had to repeatedly waive over our server to order more drinks and food. Very disappointing. Won't be back. read more
