Big disappointment: I've been coming here for 6-7 years and not sure what happened but I just paid over $6 for what was a terribly stale bagel with some generic brand of cream cheese. A new owner purchased the Copper Q a year ago and this is an entirely different vibe and unfortunately, has gone way down hill. What once use to be my favorite coffee shop is now a place I will not return to. After visiting a handful of times since the new owner took over and talking with many of the baristas, this place needs to be turned into the health department. On several occasions, different staff members were gossiping loudly while making my coffee about the unsanitary conditions of the shop and the horrible management. The owner is not local and owns and handful of other businesses. The staff reported numerous times about finding rat droppings in the establishment and he told them that was normal in the food industry. The staff continued with juicy details (all while making my latte) about how none of the staff wanted to clean it up, so it just remained there for weeks. In addition, the management is lacking. I haven't experienced a time where they weren't out of something essential. Rather it's milk or espresso, they don't order enough supplies and there's no consistency with their drinks. No training, no recipes. So you get whoever's working version of a drink. The express tastes sour and burnt. The pho was great the first month, after that it's rarely available and it tastes like top ramen. No flavor I'm very sad to see that someone purchased this business that's not invested in improving the town. Big Bear needs someone that's giving their heart to the town as well as managing a sanitary and safe business for the public. This is a major hit and miss and feels wrong for our small town. I hope to see a new local owner take over and bring back that small town charm wr all loved and cherished while visiting Cooper Q. There's so many happy (and clean) memories associated with this location that it's hard to see what it's become. There's a huge opportunity here for an authentic coffee shop that locals and tourist can trust, enjoy and staff love working at. Copper has a La Marzocco, the Stradivarius of espresso machines hand made in Florence Italy. Thinking I was in luck, ordered double-shot espresso. Could not swallow it. Finally! Some pho in Big Bear! And it's actually sooo good and authentic! Copper Q is now under new ownership and we had the pleasure to meet them. Wonderful Vietnamese couple, Scott and Caitlyn. They seem so passionate about their work and we're so grateful for them bringing delicious Vietnamese food up the mountain. Their noodles are nothing like we've had before! It's imported from Vietnam and nothing you can find anywhere else. It's honestly one of the best pho I've had. You can tell they put so much labor of love in their broth. I didn't need to add anything extra. Flavor was on point. Our 1 year old was literally jumping out of his high chair demanding more lol. We also got to try their Vietnamese house coffee and it was absolutely delicious! Not your typical Vietnamese coffee, but in my opinion much better. So smooth and pleasant, you just have to try! I have to update my previous review. The last couple of times I've given the Copper Q a shot have been disappointing. The service is strictly linear, which is crazy for a coffee shop. If you order a simple drip coffee, and your order is behind four lattes, you're going to be waiting for all the drinks ahead of you. This wouldn't fly at a chain coffee shop, the person working the register would simply fill your cup instead of putting it the queue. Additionally, yesterday I walked in, stood at the counter, saw one employee making drinks and the other two were talking to each other. All the time I'm just standing at the counter by the register. No acknowledgment, no "we'll be right with you"- nothing. I've been frequently visiting Big Bear for 15 years now, and Copper Q used to be the best, now I'll go elsewhere. read more

Im sorry, but I am just not sold. Their interior is very pleasant and quaint, and their customer service was great. My gripe with this establishment is their drinks. My wife and I ordered latte's and it just was not properly made. It lacked flavor, and just did not quite live up to its potential. The only saving grace was their dessert. However once we stepped foot inside the vibe was terrible, we didn't feel welcomed at all, maybe it was because we were young adults so we were stereotyped right away? The barista kept staring us like a creep, it doesn't help the fact we're young women so we felt unsafe. The rest of the staff (at least 3 of them) were just standing by the barista, all of them kept staring and pointing at us as they talked to each other while we were trying to figure out what to order. Due to the unprofessionalism and just feeling straight up uncomfortable, we felt the best choice was to just walk out. After reading more of the recent reviews we're glad we did, it seems that this establishment can't handle a quiet restaurant setting, I can't imagine how they perform in a rushed one. From the moment you step in, it has the small mountain town feel. I grew up in a small mountain town, so I loved it. The barista was really friendly and helpful with a menu thar was new to me. I decided to go with my usual iced, vanilla latte with oat milk. The only reason why I'm not giving five stars is simply because the vanilla syrup wasn't my favorite but I still enjoyed it. I would definitely come back. The barista even offered to put more syrup in after the fact of I thought it needed more. Many places won't do that, so I appreciated it. Came here as I was finalizing my trip to Big Bear. I always liked this coffee shop because it has a little bit of everything: great coffee iced or hot, sweets, soups and sandwiches and wraps. It is a tad on the pricy side for the food but it is a tourist based coffee shop on the Main Street in Big Bear. Got the Iced Latte. Comes with two espresso shots. Always ask if the medium and large has more espresso shots because most coffee shops just add more milk for the larger sizes. All their sizes come with just two shots. So I got the small. Regardless my coffee was perfect. Love their outdoor seating arrangement. There's a ton of tables outside. Even if it's busy there's an empty table somewhere. Line was long but it went pretty quickly. Will definitely be back here when I come back to Big Bear! read more

Stopped in for a delic rose oatmilk latte on Friday afternoon around 4pm in the summer. There was one person waiting, and only 1 person ahead of us. We placed our order (half sweet), and waited about 5 minutes while he made our lattes. The storefront is super cute with mugs and cute kitchen accessories/gifts with lots of puns all over them. There's a bathroom in the back. Once our orders were ready, we realized all of the ice had already melted, but when asked the barista very nicely just added some more ice to our cups and we were on our way. We came to Big Bear on Christmas Day and the Pho sign in front of the store quickly caught our attention. The store mainly sells bakery and coffee. Therefore, we didn't have many expectations at the beginning. after the first sip of the broth, we were all looking at each other and said " Wow, ngon quá" (so delicious) The new owner of the store is a Vietnamese couple, whom I can see as passionate and hard-working people. While waiting for Pho, he invited us to try his special house coffee (which is Vietnamese phin coffee and oat milk). It was very good and creamy coffee The owner- his name is Hiệp, said that their Pho doesn't have MSG, and the noodles they imported from Vietnam, which we can't find anywhere else in the US moreover, they use the stone bowl for Pho to keep pho hot longer. This was my second time coming to this coffee shop and have loved it even more now that I tried their breakfast sandwich with the everything bagel with jalapeños. Their coffee is very good and definitely worth the wait and see why they always have a long line. I got their iced chai tea with oat milk and my boyfriend got their pumpkin seasoned drink. He really loved his as well. For the bagels we both got the same one and I absolutely loved it but for him he said it was good but would rate it a 7 when I rated it a 10.
