Love the new location and the sandwiches here are great! My favorites are the paninis! The focaccia bread they use is tasty when it's grilled! Definitely try this place out - call ahead and order as it's busy during the lunch rush and check out the daily specials they post on Instagram. I love this place. Put aside the food, and you have that really nostalgic suburb deli atmosphere that's really disappearing. The staff knows who you are, they know what you order, they're always friendly, and every sandwich is made the same by every guy on the line. You don't have to worry about getting the perfect sandwich and coming back only to find that some other guy made it differently-- these guys have a system, it's consistent, and it works. The sandwiches themselves are delicious. Why would you ever order a sandwich at a restaurant when you could come here? The sides? Fantastic. I just tried their cole slaw today and it was better than any damn slaw I can make, and I make a damned good slaw. TL;DR: This is the only place you need to know about. We stopped in for lunch on a weekend. I think we just barely beat the lunch rush because there was a line forming right after we were done ordering. Two of us got The Chapelle Show (chicken+toppings on ciabatta) which I thought was pretty good. Unfortunately I think they must've missed the second order because the second one took twice as long to come out. Their fries were pretty good as well, though not great. It would be nice if they had more variety of sandwich ideas but the options they have look good (I know you can build your own but I prefer to try their specialties). I have never been in here. I should explain. I only go by here on my way into the liquor store a few doors down. I always notice the cute college guys sitting in the window eating their hoagies. But once every couple of weeks when my partner comes home during the day for lunch if I'm around, I get him to stop here and bring us something home. The food from this place rocks! Even a regular turkey and cheese on rye is fantastic -- loaded up with meat and cheese .. and the rye is always really fresh and chewy. I've also gotten the Buffalo Chicken sub too -- this is a must-get !! Love this one. Its hot but not crazy. And again - loaded with crispy chicken. Today we had the special called a "Chapelle". WOOF .. its was a chicken cutlet, cheddar and red onions on a square crusty roll - pressed like a panini. Awesome stuff! My partner and I used to own a little sandwich place in downtown New Haven a few years back .. so we have a soft spot in our hearts for places like this -- especially when the food is done so well! A few months ago, I realized that I was on a real Corner Deli kick, and it hasn't gone away since. The Corner Deli makes a mean sandwich, and there's a great variety to choose from. The cold cuts are Boar's Head or store-cooked, and the chicken is quality, so anything you order is sure to be good. The salads, sides, and soups are also great, and because the Corner Deli is both a deli and a little convenience store, you can also find a wide range of beverages and chips to choose from while you wait for your order. I usually get a special or one of the more interesting customer creations on the board when you walk in. One of my favorites is the Chris, which is a chicken cutlet with prosciutto, fresh mozz, and pesto mayo on grilled ciabatta. (This is actually my boyfriend's favorite sandwich, and he gets one almost every week.) I also really like any of the wraps with grilled chicken and various grilled vegetables, and sometimes I'll just get a plain old turkey sandwich on a hard roll with lettuce and tomato, and that makes me just as happy as any of the more creative options. Prices are a little higher than other places in the area, but I think the Corner Deli is worth it for better quality and bigger portions. It can get a little busy around lunchtime, but if you know what you want, you can call your order in and pick it up without a long wait. read more

Amazingly good sandwiches in a tired old strip mall. Plan on getting take out because the have no seating other than 10 stools and a counter. Go early to avoid the long lines and wait. Make sure you go before you arrive because they won't allow you to use their restroom. No seating and no restrooms cause me to knock 2 stars off my review. read more

I've been a fan of the corner deli for a while now. They have very delicious sandwiches for lunch, including some special sandwiches that you have to call or stop by for. One of my favorites is the chicken fajita wrap, of course, add sour cream. The wrap is delicious, decent amount of grilled chicken, with the grilled onions and bell peppers.... to die for! One of my other favorites is the buffalo chicken wrap as well as the keating wrap with no blue cheese. Both are just delicious. always hot, fresh, and full of goodness. For the best service, order ahead and pick up. I've gone in a waited for my food, and the wait isn't too bad, but just easier if you call and order ahead. Also on the menu are soups and salads, as well as a wide variety of drinks and chips. The price is pretty fair for the size of sandwich you get, and the biggest bonus over any other place is that it is always hot and fresh, not pre-prepared. IF I COULD GIVE THIS DELI A NEGATIVE 100 STAR I WOULD!! Ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks which cost $24. Opened sandwich in car and my niece ( who is a vegetarian) hers had chicken on it. My sandwich was completely soggy with NO pesto mayo. I went back inside and told girl at counter the situation.. She opened up my sandwich and said "this sandwich is right". I will give you your money back for your nieces sandwich but WILL NOT GIVE YOU MONEY BACK FOR YOURS! I thought she was joking.. Oooooo no she wasn't!!! I told her I work in restarant business and NO MATTER WHAT THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT! Bottom line I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE AGAIN.. And I hope she goes out of business!! I came here once a couple of years ago and had the buffalo shrimp wrap. It was delicious! Spicy, but not too spicy to handle, the blue cheese dressing seemed homemade, the shrimp were crunchy and plentiful. I hadn't stopped craving that wrap since that day, and it was the worst when I decided to go away to college and couldn't have it anymore! But then I came back, and I've been here multiple times since then. I've tried a couple of the other options, namely the Xtreme Mushroom sandwich, which is delicious, but the mushroom has trouble staying in the bun, so it's messy, and the Keating Salad with shrimp instead of chicken, both are delicious also! The Keating Salad might be another new favorite. It has mixed greens topped with walnuts, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, and gorgonzola cheese. I wouldn't think of mandarin oranges with gorgonzola, but it is amazing! It is a little pricey for a deli, but the food is top quality! read more

We also got potato and macaroni salad, which my husband reported was good (I dont like either, so I didn't try them). We got a cream cheese brownie to split for dessert, and only wished we got 2! I'm not sure it's fair for me to write a review as I have only ever had the Keating Wrap ~ dozens and dozens of Keating Wraps. I love that wrap so much I can't bring myself to order anything else. The Keating wrap is grilled chicken, mixed greens, mandarin oranges, walnuts, and blue cheese with balsamic, wrapped in a spinach wrap. Perfect every time. Consistent. Can't get enough! I had a tortellini salad that was far more than I expected, with roasted peppers, artichoke hearts and Kalamata olives mixed in, as well as a capicola sandwich. Corner Deli was my fiancé's and I's guilty pleasure for the six years we lived in Hamden, and despite recently moving to the food heaven that is LA, we have yet to find anywhere that tops this Connecticut gem's salad and sandwich game. We continuously attempt to recreate many of our favorite entrees to indulge our cravings, but the results are never quite as great. As we went through our 2017 "bests", we unanimously and unhesitatingly named the Keating Salad as the champion of our foodie hearts. It is so delicious that it would easily make my last meal on earth menu, and I literally almost died try to get this once (another driver smashed into the back of my car and totaled it while I was waiting to turn into the parking lot). To be honest, I craved this so badly that I still got my salad after the police left and the accident was cleared. The combination of grilled chicken, baby greens, dried cranberries, mandarin oranges, walnuts, gorgonzola, and balsamic vinaigrette is DIVINE, and I loved to mop up the remaining juices with their amazing wheat rolls. i wouldn't be surprised if they stuck nicotine snuck in their too, because it's seriously addictive. We've already told our in-laws that when we come back to visit, no offense to their cooking, but the first thing we want off the plane is Corner Deli's Keating Salad. If you go to Corner Deli just for that, it'll be totally worth it (but also be sure to try their #1, #4, and #5 paninis, and if they have a daily special featuring the habanero mango salsa, try that too! This is one of the best delis in the area. I liked it more than Nardellis that dominate the Connecticut area. I had a Reuben that was wonderful. I had the pastrami version and it was just very tasty. My big thing with Reuben's is sometimes they put way too much sauerkraut and not enough meat, but the ratio was good here. The Russian dressing was good as well. My mom had chicken salad and my dad had the turkey club that they said were really good. The Club and chicken salad were good size. The Reuben could've been a bit bigger but it was very good. Not cheap, but one of the best delis in the area. They have daily specials and homemade pasta and potato salad, coleslaw and a large selection of chips and drinks. read more
