Showing up this early only for people ahead of you walk out with 3-5 boxes at a time. The hurdles aren't worth it. Now, if someone else brought them to an event and had them available - I would not scoff don't get me wrong, I'd have one (maybe two). I just can't get on board with this place philosophically. The mystique and purposeful scarcity of both selection and what leads to closing quite early is at this point trivial. But it appears the scarcity is the appeal. This is (currently) the NFTs of donuts. We got an assorted dozen and my wife and I were both of the mind "these are all average." Though we were aligned and agreed their Old Fashioned donut is the standout. That one is extremely cravable. Frankly, our experience left so much to be desired that we're content not to go back. Had to take a couple donuts "to go" so I could just get out of the elements of the weather. I'm so glad I did. I learned that all of the donuts are made fresh in house DAILY with real ingredients... and there was a wide variety of options! You can tell just by looking at them, that they're fresh and different than others you've ever tried before. Check them out. Truly, you can tell that these are handmade donuts. Yum! The shop is cute, a bit rustic looking, but suits Carson Street so well. There are some little stickers and nick nacks around the shop, but nothing too crazy, just very particular and with purpose. Please stop in here next time you're around for a visit.

I took a slight detour on the way to work one morning to finally try all of their goodies. Apple Harvest is a newer bakery and catering service out of North Versailles. They serve a variety of donuts, baked goods, pastries, breads, soups, made-to-order breakfast and lunch items, and more. They are located on an unsuspecting street, with mostly industrial businesses around them. It is a few blocks off of Route 30/Lincoln Highway, and it relatively easy to get to. The building has nice decoration and signage out front, so it is easy to locate for a first-timer. As for the interior, it is a smaller space, with a few chairs inside for those waiting on their order. There is no real dine-in option here, as there are no tables inside or outside. There are dedicated parking spaces in front of the building. Additionally, there is some asphalt on the other side of the street for overflow parking. Overall, not a ton of places to park here, but I do not think it should be an issue for anyone coming to visit. I arrived to the bakery around 8:20 AM on a Thursday in September, and it was not too busy. There were a few other customers that came through while I was inside, but I did not have to wait in any line or for very long to be taken care of. The reason I wanted to come here was because of the delicious-looking donuts that I saw online. They are square in shape, absolutely gigantic, and are decorated very well in accordance to their flavor profile. Definitely an Instagram-worthy treat. In addition, they also offer other pies, breads, baked goods, soups, and drinks. They even have a food menu for breakfast and lunch items. I took a few minutes to look around at both the donut selection, as well as the other menu items available that day. I ended up ordering a half-dozen of donuts with the Maple Glazed Cinnamon Twist, Mocha Chocolate Cream, Burnt Almond Torte, Pumpkin Cream with Pumpkin Frosting, Strawberry Crunch, and Coconut Crunch. I also got an Apple Fritter as well. For my breakfast, I chose a Sausage, Egg and Cheese on a Homemade English Muffin. There was also the option to get this sandwich on a glazed donut. I did not get that on this trip, but will have to come back and try it sometime! The sandwiches are made-to-order, so I waited about 5 or so minutes for it to be prepared. As for the donuts, the employees will pack them in the box for you to take home. Since I was on my way to work, I took everything with me to-go. I thought the sandwich was really good! I always appreciate homemade breads, especially English Muffins. It was cooked well, very cheesy, and overall a great and hearty start to the day. I also like how these are somewhat customizable, as sometimes breakfast sandwiches are fixed menu items that cannot be changed in any way. Usually, I am not a huge sweets for breakfast person, so I saved my donuts to take home and enjoy later in the day. And wow, they were awesome! Though they are very large, they are more of a traditional donut, so they are not too heavy. It would be very easy to eat a full one in one sitting, but also large enough to split with someone. My favorites were the Coconut Crunch, Burnt Almond Torte, and the Pumpkin Cream, though none of them were bad. My fiance loved the Apple Fritter. In terms of value, I believe this place is fair. The breakfast sandwich was $7 before tax, which is what I would consider somewhat average for a local place. My 6 donuts and apple fritter cost me around $25, which for the size and quality I thought was a reasonable cost. Some of them cost more than others, such as if there is filling. The price is definitely more of a once-in-a-while treat, but worth it regardless. Nevertheless, I think for good, homemade items you will get your money's worth here. The only note I have on prices is that some were not displayed, which I would have preferred to see before I purchased. I am glad that my TikTok feed wanted me to come here so badly! This is a nice spot on the East side of Pittsburgh with quality, homemade goods. The donuts are fun and different from any other place in the city, so for that alone it is worth a trip to try. The donuts are fried to perfection and even with a line of 100 people - this one man operation kept pace and had the line constantly moving. The donuts are topped fresh per order, so you are guaranteed to get exactly what you want. Over and above: For some allergy requests, they were willing to mix and match toppings, within reason.
