We just held our company holiday party at The Corner Door and had the best time! We were a group of about 40 and from the very beginning, Liz made the entire process so easy and stress free. She was always available with quick replies to questions, flexible with any requests we had made, and genuinely excited to have us and was just wonderful. I got to meet Zach the night of the event and he was exactly the same way. They both understand hospitality and made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The staff that night made amazing drinks and the food was delicious. On top of that, the room itself is already a beautiful space, but when we walked in and saw it decked out in the holiday lights, we knew right away we made the perfect choice in Corner Door. Came here around halloween time so it was worth it for the decoration since they went all out. The front door is closed and blocked off after a certain time and it was kind of weird they don't mention that or have it written somewhere but it's good they take into account noise for the neighbors. My man and I stopped by here this evening around 6 o'clock for a cocktail and a snack. It turned into a full fledged evening, as there was some sort of corporate event going on. It was super quiet and chill until about 7 PM when many suited-up corporate professionals began to arrive. We were sat in a very comfortable green velvet-upholstered little nook, and we loved the ambience of the place and ordered a cocktail while we decided on the menu. Our bartender/waiter Miguel, went above and beyond to check on us, even though we were casually dressed and obviously not participating in the corporate event that was taking place. The drinks were extremely strong and good. We ordered the mussels and fries as a starter, and then decided to split the fried chicken sandwich, which was delicious and exactly what we wanted to fill us up. We can't say enough about how delightful the bartenders were, and how even though there was a room full of people at this business networking event, they still came around to check on us. I can't remember the name of the other lovely bartender, but he was a slim, handsome bespectacled young man. Went to the Corner Door on 1/31 for my BFs 34th Birthday. I ended up buying a round of drinks for the table (3) and with a 20% tip I paid 90$ so do with that information as you will The bar was pretty busy, but not overly packed which was nice. If you sat at a table and ordered a drink, tenders would being it to you which is a nice experience as opposed to hanging at a crowded bar Ambiance was great, very vibey and lowkey. Music instruments strewn the wall and iirc there is a dart board, although not really utilized But the real star of the show was my espresso martini. Came here last night for a friend's birthday and loved the vibe of this quaint and eclectic bar! The ambiance was fantastic and the DJ at night played some great beats! Came here because we were in the neighborhood and looking for a bar that stays open after 11:30 PM on a weekend. This spot is incredibly eclectic, but I'm a fan of the decoration. Total hodgepodge of different things, but I love it - there's a maritime corner, a bunch of random license plates and a piano...oh and a hatchet in the corner!? For seating, mix of couches, high tops, and tables. They have a creative cocktail menu. Pricey, but cocktails are always pricey now... I'd say that the cocktail menu is very mint forward. Atmosphere is on 10. Customer service is on 10. This place is amazing. They just started a weekend brunch thing; serve drinks amazing food and great entertainment. They asked me to do 7 pull ups and I got a round for my whole table! One thing I really wanted to highlight - the chef here one iron chef. If that doesn't tell you about the quality of the food here let this: I've lived in Los Angeles for the past 10 years. Before that I lived in the Bay Area prior to that for 20+ years. Their Unami Breakfast Burger might be the best burger I've ever had. It was amazing. I ordered it Medium - straight up melted when biting it. I think they caramelize the burger with their shiitake mushroom? I'm not sure what they do to it but it was something SPECIAL. And their drinks?! Amazing, great cocktails and great variation. I'm not a big mezcal tequila guy (bias to blanco) but I tried one of their mezcal cocktails - made me thing my first experience with one was just really bad cuz that drink was fuego. Ended up here one night with a friend. First time. Will not be my last. Even if I have to drive around the block looking for parking again. Even if it's busy, which it wasn't the evening I was here - don't ask which night because I'm so far behind with my reviews that I don't remember. Even if it's not quite a full menu as it's a bar that serves food, not a restaurant with bar. At least that's my take. The decor is hard to explain. A bar. Some tables off to one side. Then an area set up like a living room or lounge. Quirky. Fun. That's the vibe I felt. That's the vibe I like. Back to the parking. Street parking. Free after 6PM I think. Confirm the time. If you go by my review and get a ticket, that's on you. There's a happy hour. Two, if I remember correctly. Check the menu. I didn't take pics of it. Or maybe check their site or social media. Chose a seat at the bar. Great, friendly service. Bartender took care of the drinks and served the food (see pics). Enjoyed the food. Loved the drink. Burger hit the spot as it was cooked as requested, wasn't dry and tasted good. Fries were crispy, not under or overcooked. The drink was balanced not overpowering and considered ordering a second, but opted for dessert (elsewhere) so, passed until my next visit. What I really liked about this place was the feel like it's one where you'd go happy hour or to just hang out with friends. This is my new fav neighborhood spot since my former fav spot closed in April. I've been here twice so far. 1st visit: I stopped by after work Friday for drinks with a colleague. So delicious and refreshing. I ordered the Mambo burger and fries! Unfortunately, it was so scrumptious I neglected to take a pic. My 2nd drink was custom made for me by the friendliest server/bartender with pineapple juice & Reposado tequila (Aiden?). 2 drinks, Mambo burger, and fries for $40. Happiest hour in town! They were prepping for a 70's theme bday event. I inquired about birthday celebrations because mine was around the corner. Liz, the event planner, was so gracious & informative. We made a plan to celebrate my birthday a couple of week's ago. 2nd visit: my birthday happy hour with friends & colleagues. It was most definitely a vibe. Sat at the bar for a can't beat the vibe happy hour that goes til 7pm Wednesday through Friday! One server for the whole bar handled everything with a smile and great service on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. We didn't try the food but the drinks were as good as you'd expect with such a well-stocked bar with fresh herbs and citrus fruit. Stumbling through this bar around 11:30pm on a Friday night and it is a jewel . With their help, I coordinated a two year anniversary for me and my partner that included custom drink menus that they printed out with our picture on them. The attention to detail and genuine willingness to ensure we had a good time was really heartfelt. Plus, the drinks were bomb. I booked a surprise party for 40 people a few days before and Liz helped coordinate everything. It was seamless. From incredible craft cocktails to the yummy charcuterie board. This place is really obnoxious. The owner seems indifferent to the noise complaints from the neighborhood. This business violates noise ordinance every single week. My walls vibrate and I live over 300 feet away. You can play music at all hours, but be mindful.... why leave the doors and windows ajar after quiet hours? No your sign doesn't work.. Kids have school during the week. Many people have jobs on Friday mornings too and some weekends. No one should have to stay up until 2 AM three times a week listening to the bass from an overrated burning man setlist. I'm really fed up with this. read more

This is such a small cute place located in Culver City! The decorations and the vibe here was great but I was disappointed by the food and drinks quality. Personally, I didn't enjoy the food and drinks. I ordered the Tokyo old fashioned and the mushroom risotto. The Tokyo old fashioned was bleh! The ice cube was too big. And sorry, the bartender didn't do a good job on the portion, the sweetnesses and the whisky taste wasn't right for old fashioned. The risotto wasn't well-cooked. I know risotto is supposed to be on the heavier side but this one was way too heavy and greasy. I ended up throwing up later of the night and my stomach was bothering me the next day. Where do I begin. I loved the corner door and their previous menu. But now for some reason they are parm Boyz and boy oh boy was that a mistake. First of all everything is soaked in their marinara which is identical to the 5 gallon buckets of marinaras that hospital cafeterias use in their buffets. I'm not being facetious at all. This stuff certainly comes out of a big plastic bin and it's the most disgusting sauce money can buy. It's unfortunate because the chicken was fried well but then it's doused in this bargain brand jarred sauce that even looks as artificial as it tastes, not to mention every meal is around 20 dollars so you're not paying a bargain price. The fried mozzarella is terrible because it's soaked in the sauce. The meatballs, terrible, soaked in this sauce. The spaghetti, terrible, it's soaked in this sauce If you want Sams club vat of marinara spread atop over cooked pasta then this is your place to go. Review for HH only! I've wondered about this place for a while but did not find my way over here until recently. Came for HH one Wednesday night with a friend. One great thing about Corner Door is that the HH is available throughout the whole restaurant, not just the bar! The bar and big communal table were full so we snagged a table inside. FOOD: - spicy fried chicken sliders - not spicy at all, so that was a bit disappointing. Good crispy and portion size and the buns are nice and soft. - fish and chips - did not come out very hot and the fish wasn't tender or flaky. Fries were solid, nothing to complain about. - short rib poutine - I don't eat short rib so I picked around it. The fries were fine to me =/ - tempranillo wine - not bad for HH and a decent sized pour SERVICE: Friendly and food came out relatively quickly. Didn't have a problem with signaling our server for anything we needed. VENUE/PARKING: The space is pretty cool and it wasn't very crowded or dead on a weekday night. Bathrooms are clean and street parking was easy to find right on Washington for free! Glad I finally tried it, but don't think it would be at the top of my list for HH places in the area. read more
