Fresh tilapia with spinach risotto! Hubby loved his steak and cheesecake too! Coming back soon!

Potato Crusted Halibut (4 stars) - crispy outside, moist inside. The lemon picatta sauce is nice.

Review is for Doordash takeout: We've been making good use of the Dashpass quite a bit over the past few months. Since it was July 3 weekend, I was up for trying a new, meat-centric place. Xenia Bistro seems to have a pretty broad and intriguing menu, and its in Alamo which isn't too far from me. The Pork Chop with brandy-apple chutney turned out pretty good. Thick, boneless, yet still fairly juicy. I liked the generous helping of veggies and mashed potatoes. The potato-crusted Halibut was basically like a hash brown baked into a large, thick piece of fish. Cooked perfectly and not too dry. Its really easy to overcook halibut, especially with 30+ min of delivery. They also provides lots of lemon-picatta sauce to spiff up the fish. Only downsides of the Doordash menu is that they don't seem to have desserts! Anyways, a decent 4-star takeout place in my view with an interesting menu. I saw pasta, paella(!), short ribs, and even chicken cordon bleu.

Everytime I come I'm very happy with the taste. Today I ordered the chipotle honey shrimp and beet salad. I was shocked at how robust in flavor the sauce and shrimp was. The beet salad was also good, note: if you love goat cheese you'll love this. Would you like some beets and salad with that goat cheese?...would be how I would describe the beet salad. Yes I would order them again. Thank you for being so good.

This is what our table looked like after we paid our bill. Apparently they don't pick up dirty dishes here.

We're new to the area and are making it a point to try all the restaurants in Alamo before we venture to WC and Danville. glad we tried it so we can remove it from the list. We aren't coming back ever again. The food was pretty bad, very bland and the ingredients seemed to be low quality. The service could have been ok because she was nice so there was potential. But she left our table full of dirty appetizer plates when she brought out the dinner. I asked for more bread and when she brought it she simply put the new basket on top of the basket that was already there and still ignored the pile of plates in the middle of the table. When we were done with dinner we actually paid our bill with dirty dinner dishes on the table, oh and appetizer plates were still there. It was a Monday night with 4 tables total, so being busy wasn't the issue here. Food * Service *** Atmosphere **

A voucher for $25 off a meal. The meal was over $100. Pressed " use gift card" many times. The restaurant said the code was all they needed.

I've eaten here before but many years ago, and it was pricey but good. Read the other negative reviews. This time, the food was bland and tasteless. Portion size was OK Pork chop was tough and not marinated. Paella was tasteless and was supposed to be saffron rice but tasteless and no yellow color. Halibut was overcooked with a bad hash brown potato coating. We said we were splitting the dishes, no extra plates brought to split, despite request. Before I entered, I asked if they accepted a $25 coupon that I was going to use. They said yes. I asked them to look at it to make sure it was good- they said they didn't have to until after dinner. If they had told me they didn't accept the card or it was invalid, I would not have eaten there. After dinner, I showed them the coupon with a code number. They said that's all you need. Then they came back and said the code didn't work. I said I expected them to take the $25 off the bill. They refused. They refused to let me talk with the owner. They threatened to call the police. This is the rudest and worst restaurant experience I ever had. I will never return. We paid the bill in full ( over $100) and tipped. Even the business card is wrong. Says their hours are to 9pm- the latest is 830.

Cheesecake Pancakes - those two pancakes are child sized portions
Christina L.

I hate giving an average score. I like tipping the scale when rating places ...when it's justified. Unfortunately, this place is just average and below avg given that they're charging so much for their food. See pics below. Do you think either dish is worth $12? - The omelette was overcooked. - The hash browns were from who knows where, but I know I can make better. - The pancakes were the smallest I've ever seen. - One measly egg Sunnyside Omelette ordered wasn't even under the omelette section of the menu and no one could tell me if it was an actual omelette. Odd comment, but it's not labeled an omelette on the menu. I wouldn't paid $7-8/dish, which is exactly what happened since I had a Living Social.

While it was nice that they split the salad for us, the dish was lacking. Dressing was ok, but there was hardly any of the ingredients listed in the description. I found 1 olive and a few pieces of citrus. Overall, just average for $20! The pizza was just ok as well. The crust was a bit doughy and lacked flavor, also served warm, not hot. Then we both had pastas. The pesto gnocchi was ok, nothing stood out. The tortelloni tasted decent, the pasta itself was good but the sauce was watery and flavorless. It was a very small portion and only had 2 tiny pieces of sage. It wasn't worth $27. Then there's the 3% 'health and benefits' surcharge. Let's be real, an employee has to work an average of 30 hours a week to qualify and if there's not 50+ employees, they don't have to provide benefits. This always seems like a tip for the owners. Service is always weird here. The server rushed us at every turn, never engaging, just wanted our order. Ambiance? None. The whole vibe was off. I like a 'wow' factor when I go out to eat, there was nothing 'wow' about this experience.

Chicken piccata and prawn Chittara were freshly made and one of the bests we have had so far. Our server Roberto was very polite and the service was very quick. The bread is outstanding, akin to a baguette with its crusty outside and plush interior. I wonder if they bake it fresh in house, what with the bread arriving steaming and hot to the touch. The oil that accompanies it is spectacular too, perfectly acidic with the balsamic vinegar contrasted by the acrid olive oil. All entrees are delicious though not the best in show by any means. For a casual restaurant though, the libations have no business being that delicious. I had an old fashioned, something of a go-to as of late. Leaves nothing to be desired. Truly just an archetype old fashioned, a symphony of bitters and whiskey. Dessert at the end was tiramisu, which was a good tiramisu. Such is expected at an Italian spot though.

Best pesto pasta i've ever had in my life!…read more I've always underestimated this spot since it never looked authentic enough for my taste, but my friends insisted I go with them one night for dinner. We ordered the vodka al forno, alfredo, and pesto mandilli. I ordered the fried spaghetti as an appetizer, a chicken Caesar salad, the Chicken Marsala for my entrée, and an espresso martini. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our server, Brittany, was friendly, personable, and took responsibility when there was a delay in service. I asked for a bowl of water for my dog as soon as we were seated, but it took about 20 minutes before it was brought to the table and our order was taken. She sincerely apologized, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I've experienced similar delays with other servers during previous visits. I also noticed the bartender place coffee beans into an espresso martini using her bare hands. Although I didn't say anything at the time, it made me uncomfortable from a hygiene standpoint. When I ordered another drink, Brittany used a utensil to place the coffee beans into the drink, which I felt was much more appropriate. Overall, the food was outstanding, as always, and that's what keeps me coming back. I hope the restaurant improves its service times and reinforces proper food handling practices so every guest can enjoy the same great dining experience.

We were promptly greeted by our server, Jess, who was "wonderful and lovely" as described by one member of our party. She gave us a quick review of off-menu specials and recommended we order before a party of 20 fully arrived. We didn't feel rushed and appreciated her looking out for us. The pace of our dinner moved along exactly as expected. Service (Jess, et al) is friendly, professional and timely. Members of the service staff moved in and out efficiently to refill water, remove plates and keep our table uncluttered. The dining room is busy and loud (or maybe we're old), so there was quite a bit of "what did you say" in our conversations, but it did not diminish the experience. The wine list provides a great selection to complement the menu without breaking the bank. Menu prices are in line with what we see these days - and the large portions make dining here a great value. Our table ordered Pollo Scallopini, Vitello (veal) Scallopini, Melanzane (eggplant) Parmigiana, and the off-menu special Salmon Piccata. Everything was excellent. The veal was a big hit with the table. Strongly recommend making a reservation. Looks like they do a good job with larger parties without impacting smaller tables and couples.
