Great location at the end of the street next to the beach. Wish it had been warm enough to sit outside as I would have given this place 3 stars. Upon entering, it looks like it was an old hardware store on one side. The inside is very strange looking with a few owners I guess using their laptops at a couple of tables. A woman handed us menus & said to sit anywhere so we went to the other room with a nice beach view. My husband got eggs & I got the fried clam app. We enjoyed our food. It was just a strange vibe for us & silly me, I didn't check Yelp before going or else I would have never stepped in. Guess we were there on a good day - who knows...but I would not go back again.

Best BLT in ages!! Simple food, great location, and love the throwback decor. We'll be back soon.

If you're looking for a breakfast/lunch spot away from the hustle and bustle, stop in The Cove Restaurant. My family came here at noon and ordered off both the breakfast & lunch menus. The cream cheese stuffed French toast with strawberries and tuna stuffed tomato were delicious. No food pics as no everyone dug in when it came to the table. Service was friendly, prompt and attentive. Nothing is fancy, just good homestyle cooking. We've been coming here for years and never had a complaint. One of our favorite brunch spots before walking outside onto the beach.

Visit: OCTOBER 14, for breakfast . First, this view is amazing. You are right on the cove with views of the ocean and lighthouse. I like the concept of the guys at the front door saying "take a menu and sit wherever you like". Well I did !! Right on the ocean with gentle September breezes. You just have to realize the locals are kinda folksy here and with the fishing/ old time beach decor don't expect 5 star linen and China service. My server was nice and attentive. My 2 eggs over easy with bacon and potatoes and toast arrived promptly. Coffee was fresh and perfectly roasted. Waking up over coffee with this view is very nice.

The restaurant is in a super busy area, and easy to miss but has a parking lot accessible from one direction only based on traffic. It wasn't packed inside at lunch, since we arrived after 2pm. Dispensing with beverages and appetizers, we ordered our entrees right away. Husband chose the boat ramp tacos with blackened fish ($2 upcharge for blackened). On flour tortillas, there were three nice fish tacos with a little lettuce and tomato topped with a spicy drizzle of Baja sauce. Chips (thick and crunchy) and a green salsa rounded out the plate. He was happy! Although I knew I wanted to try the gluten-free shrimp and crab cakes entree, I found out at lunch time they do not have the herbed polenta mentioned on the menu. I discussed my various side options with the server, and decided on the mashed sweet potato instead and the seasonal veggies were green beans, a favorite. This was a stellar entree and very healthy to boot. I didn't care for the bland yellow pepper aoli that came with this dish. The crab and shrimp cakes had a nice texture, and were much better after I got some zingy red cocktail sauce to go with them! Very pleased with my dish. We paid our bill and got back on the road quickly, but wanted to memorialize the occasion with a positive review. Definitely worth coming back for another meal here!

After a stroll to the Washington Street Mall I was on my way back to the motel (The Jetty) and noticed this place was open. It was clean looking from the outside so I decided to give it a try. I was immediately welcomed as I walked in, nice. Looked around to see how the seating arrangements were and notice they had counter seating. Neil like sitting at the counter. A pleasant lady came over and handed me a menu asked what I wanted to drink...orange juice. And the juice came with a glass of water, I needed that and didn't know it. After looking the menu over I chose the western omelette with home fries and rye toast. I must have been one of the first customers of the day cause it wasn't long before I was eating. All I needed was some hot sauce for the home fries and their it was. The portions were generous and toast came out warm just the way I likes it. Cutting into the omelet it was filled, nothing scarce here. I would suggest to get here early, it wasn't long before there was a wait. Not sure if I finished it all but I needed to walk the WS Mall again and work it off. Yes this will be my go to place for breakfast next time in town. Peace.

If you want to sit on the outside deck, you order at the fish market/take out section and wait outside for them to call your number. I think it's a great system. Never have trouble finding an open table. You sit next to the commercial fishing boats so if you're looking for a pretty water view, this isn't it. I had the broiled seafood platter with a baked potato and coleslaw. It came with a decent sized piece of flounder. It was very meaty but not much taste. The 3 shrimp and 2 scallops had good flavor but were small. I liked the deviled clam. My favorite was the crab cake. No filler at all. The baked potato was cooked perfectly and they don't charge extra for sour cream. The coleslaw is very good. It's a nice platter for the price. I found it filling. I also had some of the fried clams. They are big pieces of clam and very tender. I got pumpkin cheesecake to go and that was soooo good. It had a spice cake layer at the bottom. Wish I took a photo.

For appetizers, we ordered the stuffed long hots with sausage, shrimp cocktail, and burrata--all of which were delicious. My wife and I both chose steak for our entrées. The spaces are fairly narrow, though, so be careful to park fully between the white lines. If you come in through the back entrance near the bar, you'll need to turn right and walk all the way to the front to find the hostess stand. The bar-area staff seemed a little annoyed when people asked where the hostess stand or restrooms were, although I imagine they probably get those questions often. The hostess was pleasant and seated us promptly. One note for anyone who tends to get cold: bring a cardigan or light jacket. There was a floor vent right beside our table, and I got pretty chilly as the evening went on. The menu offered a wide range of options, from pork chops and duck to salmon, but I was not especially excited by many of the pairings. I started with the crab soup and ordered the blackened sea bass special with coconut rice for my entrée. For the table, we shared the bang bang shrimp and burrata. Both were adequately portioned for our party of five. The bang bang shrimp had the right amount of heat, and the burrata was a nice combination of warm pita bread, portobello mushroom, cooked red peppers, fresh greens, and burrata. I would recommend both appetizers. My crab soup arrived hot and was perfectly seasoned. The spice level was just right, and I liked the balance of small strips of crab throughout, along with a few larger pieces. In my opinion, it had an excellent ratio of crab meat, vegetables, and broth. Unfortunately, the entrées were less impressive. They were all beautifully presented--colorful and nicely portioned--but the flavors left something to be desired. My sea bass was certainly blackened, but I would have enjoyed it much more if the skin had been crisp. Instead, it was soggy, likely because it was placed directly on top of the coconut rice, which also became soggy. The mango pieces were larger than necessary, and there was far too much of the tomato, green pepper, and onion mixture on top. At $46, I expected more in terms of flavor. On a positive note, our waitress was friendly and professional, and the young man who brought out our food was pleasant as well. The food also arrived quickly. Since this was my first visit to the area, I would like to explore other local restaurants before returning. Still, I would not be opposed to giving Oyster Bay Restaurant & Bar another chance and trying a different entrée--possibly the swordfish.

What we ate -- started things off with mozzarella and heirloom tomato salad (on special) and kale cesar. All produce is sourced locally from Beach Plum Farm and both dishes were fab. For our main we shared crab cakes and scallops. Both were so fresh and came with a large portion. Every entree comes with brown rice and house cabbage slaw. Reviews will mention that this is pretty plain, but with the fresh seafood and dipping sauces it's really the perfect accompaniment. The scallops came with a delicious sweet ginger sauce and the crab cakes came with a creamy lemony tartar sauce. The decor is fun and kitschy and the inflatable whale in the bathroom tub made me laugh. Don't forget to grab a chocolate bar at the Louisa's chocolate shop which is adjacent to the restaurant.
