Easily one of the worst Korean BBQ experiences I've had. The galbi was almost 50% fat and barely edible. There was no proper ventilation, so the whole restaurant became smoky and uncomfortable very quickly. The jumuloc was very bad -- we barely touched it. Most of the side dishes were extremely bland, and we even had to ask for kimchi ourselves. What really disappointed me was that they mixed beef belly, brisket, and tongue all together on the same plate. The beef belly itself tasted poor quality and was not enjoyable at all. Overall, the food quality, presentation, and dining experience were very disappointing

This place is kind of a hidden gem and one of my friend's favorite. We came here to celebrate a birthday and I really like the BBQ selection. The galbi and prime rib steak were my favorite and very well marinated. The grill tray cooks everything up so fast. Great pricing for AYCE. Service is also very quick. Please come and create your own adventure.

Ambience is pretty typical of a KBBQ restaurant but the service was great! Really accommodating and helpful for our large party :) Meat was pretty good, you pay for what you get!

Great value Korean BBQ spot in Garden Grove. The AYCE dinner is $32 and you get a lot for the price. It's very family friendly -- kids 5-8 are half price and kids under 4 eat free. They also offer 10% off if you pay cash, and that includes free drinks. At the end of the meal they even give free ice cream, which the kids loved. The atmosphere is lively and the staff are friendly and attentive. Overall a solid and affordable AYCE BBQ option in Garden Grove, especially for families.

Don't come here found a roach or some bug in my food specifically in the Korean noodle soup manager couldn't even show their face to apologize instead had a waitress tell us they won't charge us absolutely unacceptable. Do not let this review go unnoticed.

IT DOES THE JOB. Okay, it's not the highest quality nor the cleanest KBBQ, but, again, it does the job and won't burn a hole into your wallet. For the lowest level dinner on a weekend, it was $27.99 with some more premium items being only 1 per person. You can add yourself to their Yelp waitlist and the wait wasn't so bad when we were there. About 20 or so minutes? At least enough time to grab a matcha from Airoma Cafe (when the cafe had no line). The parking lot can get fisted, so potentially keep that in mind. The women's restroom when I went was clean enough. I think the only con aside from the cheapness and quality factor, is that you can't adjust the fan for the stoves. Even at maximum strength, it was still blowing smoke into our friend's eyes the entire night. Pain! I think the most amusing thing of ordering the meat here is that it comes out huge semi-cold blocks. No problem since you can cook it, but I have never seen that at any other KBBQ before. Usually it's laid out on a tray or at least it's flattened, here its like they know that they're just feeding the horde. Despite this, the meat was fine, cooked normally and tasted all right. Can never go wrong with the top blade, brisket, and thinly sliced pork belly. The grill is angled so that grease and oil drop down into the vat. We also go their tofu soup and corn cheese which was decent. The steamed egg was the flattest and saddest one that I've ever seen, lots of air bubbles in it and the Korean noodle soup wasn't cooked all the way as the noodles were still blocked and stuck together. If I had to, I'd skip these 2 dishes. We also kept ordering their salad and sliced onions and garlic to enhance the flavor of food, not bad. There's free frozen yogurt at the end (turn off your brain if it doesn't look the cleanest), but the only flavor available was pineapple, no swirl, but that's alright. There were toppings too. Overall not bad for what it was.

Haven't been here for a while but place is still hitting the spot. Ambiance: nearly almost similar to any Korean bbq place that you would go to. K-pop music placing , free ice cream. Food: everything does take simulator other than there bulgogi meat it's less flavorful here but otherwise good. Service: staff is very attentive when it comes to it busy.

    1. The options of the AYCE are good, and I really like the garlic pork belly! They also have complimentary ice cream! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes! The interior has high ceilings! 3. There are only indoor seatings! They have a good number of tables and booths available! 4. The staff was friendly and attentive! They do ask clean the grill often! 5. Parking is easy! Spots are single-lined and not compact! Note: 10% discount if you pay with cash Photo: AYCE Meat

Not the same kbbq I remember. We ordered the beef belly plate and it arrived looking like mostly fat. After cooking that plate it turned out to be 100% fat and no meat - I gave the whole plate back to the server who agreed and took it back. Meat quality is not good. There are better options for affordable kbbq than Star BBQ.

    Roach in soup

THERE WAS A COCKROACH IN MY GIRLFRIENDS FOOD. if I could give zero stars I would. My girlfriend ordered the Korean soup on the side and there was a whole roach in the bowl. I genuinely felt sick to my stomach and shocked. The manager didn't even come out to apologize, only sent the waitress we reported the bug soup to. WE REPORTED TO FDA. CLEAN YOUR KITCHEN PLEASE. We unfortunately will not be returning to this spot. Red castle probably more clean.

The food is always amazing, we had the bulgogi, beef brisket and spicy pork belly. All the sides are amazing, love the spicy cucumbers, pickled radish, fish cakes and the potato salad. Our food server was very attentive and friendly, kept bringing us the meats and refills on our drinks. They came to clean the grill very fast. The ambience inside was great, good music playing and they have a lot of tvs with sports as well. Love that at the end they have frozen yogurt station for you. Definitely a Korean bbq place to try if in the area

A must-visit galbi spot approved by Koreans! The meat quality is excellent, and the restaurant is very clean and hygienic--overall, we were extremely satisfied! While traveling in the U.S., we were craving Korean food, so we came here after reading the reviews... and wow. We ate so happily As expected, it's the true taste of Korean food! Honestly, it was even better than some places in Korea. My personal favorite was the LA galbi, and the kimchi stew was absolutely amazing too. All the side dishes were clean, neat, and well-prepared, which we really appreciated. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable, and it's all-you-can-eat, so we ate until we were completely full~~~ For dessert, make sure to get the yogurt ice cream twice!!!!! This quality at this price~~~~! The only downside is that there can be a wait, so I recommend coming right at 5 PM when they open or visiting on a weekday.

Love coming here for amazing KBBQ! Usually come on a Saturday and never have to wait too long! The wait time/waitlist is usually always accurate and on time. Servers are great and friendly! Good comes out quickly and the seasonings and sauces are the best. The price for the amount and quality of food you get is also superb!

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!
