The seafood boil place we've been needing! There are so many good options for seafood boils in this area but The Crawfish Hut takes the top spot in my book. Quality has gone down at a lot of the other spot and it's nice to have a place where there's still a snap in the shrimp and big sized shrimp at that! We ordered a pound of head on shrimp and green mussels with sausage. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and easily peelable - no shell sticking onto the shrimp. Mussels were cleaned throughly and cooked to perfection, not overly chewy. And the sausage was a solid hot link and not cut into discs which I really appreciated as it was able to soak up more sauce. Their combo sauce has a sweetness to it that's so refreshing compared to the salt bombs of other spots. Service was extremely sweet too. The owner is really committed to making sure you enjoy your food and time. Ambiance was nice and airy. Great circulation. And there wasn't a stale fishy smell lingering in the walls. My cousin and I were putting on the gloves and one girl noticed that it was too small and brought us two new bigger pairs. Our food came out super quick, we got 2 pounds of fresh crawfish and 2 pounds of shrimp, they both came with corn and we added potatoes. We took down a star because we asked for sausages in the sampler which we didn't get. We mentioned this twice to the staff, and we never ended up getting them. The waiter apologized in the end, but it's crazy not to get sausages when you asked twice, and the waiter assured us he would get them to us both times. In this case, I expect the restaurant to comp something or get us a replacement but he just offered for us to either take the sausages "to go" or take it off the receipt; both of which are crummy options. The food quality was very good with deliciously sweet crabs in amazing sauce. The lobster, crab, and shrimp were all excellent and full of garlic butter. Ok, i got the jumbo crawfish which is frozen. It really was huge but since it was frozen I felt like it had zero flavor. Like usually I love the yellow head guts but when I ate this one it literally tasted like absolutely nothing. I was super shocked. Honestly it could be because it's frozen. I'd rather eat smaller crawfish that's fresh tbh. I got the hut sauce in spicy and it wasn't really spicy, but most importantly my sauce was ALL oil and bits of garlic. It had no flavor. Needed salt !!? I literally used 2 cups of the lemon pepper sauce. Had to dip everything in it even the sausage. At other crawfish places I barely use half of 1 lemon pepper sauce. Next my bf got the king crab, King crab was fresh today @ $110 /lb - that was absolutely delicious !!!!! Best king crab out of all the crawfish places around. Their original location is in Seattle but they recently expanded to Cali which was really cool to learn about. My boyfriend and I both ordered a pound of head on shrimp with sausage in mild spice house special sauce, along with a basket of garlic fries, bread, and rice. The proteins were so soft and juicy and sauce had the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy elements. Garlic fries were fire and came with ranch and sriracha mayo. The bread was surprisingly a high quality, fresh french roll. Both were great vessels to drench in the sauce. My family and I were regulars here and used to LOVE crawfish hut. We literally ate there biweekly and brought all our family and friends there. The last time I ate here with a friend, they rung me up for the WRONG table and charged me DOUBLE the amount ($209) they should have (~$115 based on menu prices). When I saw the bill, I was confused and skeptical but decided to not think much about it. But I left feeling really bad about it. The next day, I checked the menu prices and realized that they DEFINITELY overcharged me. I called back immediately and I explained my situation. The lady on the phone asked me if I had ordered pepsis, which I had not. I then requested a receipt, which they refused to give me for literally no reason at all. They said they would work with their manager to get it fixed and that they would call me back in 1-2 days. I never got a call back. I called back 3 days later and the same person answered the phone. She confirmed that the server made a mistake and that I was charged for the wrong table. Again, I asked for the receipt, but they still REFUSED to give it to me-- which I am sure is illegal. They said they would issue me a refund. A week later... I called AGAIN! They said they had issued me a refund, but they did not specify how much the refund would be. They sent me the receipt of the table I was charged for BUT NOT MY ACTUAL ORIGINAL RECEIPT. To this day, I don't even know how much I should have paid for originally. They refunded me $100 but considering the serious poor service and lack of communication, they should have refunded me for the full bill if they wanted to make things right. Also, I asked to speak to the manager multiple times but I never was able to talk to the manager. This was honestly so frustrating and annoying. I ended up still paying ~$110 and a much larger tip than I should've paid, since I paid by the percentage of my bill. It has been almost a month since this incident. This experience has severely impacted my perception about this restaurant and as a regular, would like to warn potential customers about this issue. read more

The parking lot is PACKED because of all the other spots it shared the lot with, so be prepared to circle around for a while. There is a TON of seating and we came during a weekday so plenty of open tables for us. While waiting for our friends, fiancee and I ordered a couple apps, the calamari and fried chicken gizzards which I was super excited about, but my excitement died down at first bite. The gizzards were rubbery, and the batter was either overcooked or maybe they haven't changed their frying oil in a bit, but we were super hungry as we didn't get a chance to eat all day. The calamari was ok, wouldn't recommend it though. The sauce was BOMB, probably one of the best sauces I've had with a seafood boil. And if you didn't order spicy and noticed it extra spicy for "mild", wouldn't you ask? Ok. Well enough with this debacle. What warrants this low rating is the LACK of customer service. When you accidentally give our order to another table and keep walking by wondering why we don't have anything in front of us should signal a red flag, but like my past relationships, they might be colorblind. On top of that, admitting fault means taking accountability and that goes a long way in hospitality. But no "sorry" was provided until I paid for the one drink and one basket we ate. And it's even crazier that I can understand Vietnamese and I can see your POS system and it clearly said my order was done by I obviously didn't have it. And then asking for it to be removed but was told you can't but then I am standing right there looking dead at you, ultimately made you uncomfortable. No solution was provided for giving our order away. Instead they let me pay for whatever did arrive and a measly "sorry" after I tapped my phone. We will never dine here again. It's been really hard to find good seafood boil in the LA/OC area. I've tried so many different restaurants with family, including Kickin KAsian, Boiling Crab, Crab Shack, and more. While they were good, they weren't memorable or great. But The Crawfish Hut finally, finally hit the spot. Their Hut Special sauce was the best I've tasted in the area. SO good with a hint of sweetness which I believe nailed it home. The crawfish were huge and super fresh. We also got Snow Crab and they were super meaty and flavorful. The quality of this restaurant has really gone down. We've been dinning here for years, since they first opened. When they first opened, everything is delicious. They were generous on the garlic, condiments and flavors. Now (last week) they've cut corner on everything. For a party of 6, they gave us exactly 6 lemon wedges. We ordered 4 lbs of clams, but it seems like they give us more shells than whole (there weren't much clam meats fallen on the bottom of the bag). Our bill was over $200 and we walked out still feeling hungry and got snacks inside the complex... I'm sad this restaurant is victim of our poor economy. I was never a big fan of clams but these clam were so fresh I ended up eating quite a few. Highly recommend the hut sauce which is all their sauces together and getting the boiled eggs! The pricing is also better than other seafood boil spots and in my opinion the seafood was much fresher! The wings were also good and I love that they offered curly fries as an option for $1 more.
