I've dined in. I've picked up. I've had UEats deliver. I LOVE the Beef Mandu and the Korean Chicken Ramen-Medium Spiciness. I have tried other entrees and I find that the Korean Chicken is the superior choice. The flavor is complex and bold. You get sliced veggies, a robust broth, and fresh chicken. All aspects of the food preparation seem to be fresh. To that point, there can be a bit of a wait. Ideally, I can order when I leave work and pick it up on the way home for a delicious meal that won't leave me riddled with guilt!! The food is good, but the dining room isn't comfortable. I went in to have a bowl of noodles and 'bout froze to death at my wobbly table. I highly recommend this place for takeout and delivery. read more

I LOVED my lunch here and I only regret that I didn't return the next day for lunch again as I had planned. I picked a phó place instead, which turned out to be a yucky choice, so I wasted my last day to eat at The Crazy Noodle. Bummer, but I fully intend to hightail it back here the next time I am in Memphis. I originally stumbled upon The Crazy Noodle because I was searching for a phó restaurant when I landed in Memphis. However, the Yelp app kept directing me to TCN in my search and I decided to give it a try (plus Midtown has quite a good assortment of local restaurants, so it's always a good bet). I could smell the mouthwatering aromas from the parking lot - meat sizzling, sesame seed oil, spices and stir-frying vegetables. Yum. TCN is very cute, with outdoor seating and a big cooking area out in the open where I perched at my hightop table and watched the owner cook my lunch. The eatery kind of reminded me of a tiki bar - you have to visit to see what I mean. And the decor is funky, they have kids' toys from the 90s decorating the tables. The menu is kind of an abbreviated, fresh spin on traditional Korean, and the items I chose from it were deeee-licious. As the owner/chef pointed out to me, she uses a lot more fresh veggies and doesn't offer those predinner dishes of Ban Chan. The service was very friendly, and I came during a slow period, so I didn't wait long for my food. Both the server and cook were quick to accommodate me: I only wanted half of an order of beef man du and so she fried me up and charged me for just two crisp, delicious little golden pockets of beef dumpling, served with dark, fragrant dipping sauce. My meal was as fresh as I could hope for. I watched the chef/owner sautée chicken, blanch noodles, and wield her knife like a boss chopping up vegetables. I was served a huge dish, the Crazy Bi Bimbap noodle bowl with chicken. It was a perfect combination of saucy, crunchy, cool, creamy, spicy, hot - and the flavors were so good together! My lunch with a half appetizer was $13 - this is a GREAT deal for the quality and amount of food. TCN will be my first stop the next time I'm in Memphis. read more

So we decided to try Crazy Noodle in our constant search for good food in a town that is abysmal on the culinary front (if you lived in most decent sized cities like Atlanta, Houston, LA, Chicago, Boston, NYC you have to agree). When we walked in we were very pleasantly surprised. The smell of the food seemed right on point. The food was plentiful, flavorful and cheap (less $10/dish). We had the Bibim beef dish and the Jam-Bong noodle soup....huge portions and heavenly...not as spicy as I like but great nonetheless. We actually got a couple more dishes to go as well. The atmosphere is chill with a sushi-style kitchen...the chefs are accommodating and really nice. Decent selection of beers but no wine. They will charge a $3.50 corkage fee if u bring in your own wine. Why not 5 stars? No more specialty draughts for a while (distribution issue I know) and while I know that it's a noodle house....a few more none-noodle dishes would be great....if I could I'd give it 4.5 read more

It's a small place but has a lot of charm. I ordered a beef soup and my buddy got the same thing but with chicken. Beautiful presentation and even better taste. No chain can copy, it was perfect. My daughter, who doesn't eat out of her comfort zone, ordered some plain noodles. While they were flavored nicely they made it a little too spicy for her taste, but she liked it before the spice kicked in. They only have regular tea, no sweet. Most of the dessert items were not available, but my daughter got a piece of carrot cake. It was large and she loved it. Very polite waitress and a positive experience. My boyfriend and I tried to go here last Saturday for lunch, but they apparently don't open until 4, contrary to what the hours on Yelp say. Luckily we decided to go back for dinner the next day! Overall my first experience with Korean food was positive! The waitress here was friendly and was happy to give recommendations. The inside was decorated strangely with children's toys, but I liked that we could see the chef cooking from our table. The portions and spice levels were perfect! We ordered: Fried Veggie Mandu to start I got Japchae for my entree Husband got crazy bi-bim noodle We had Baklava for dessert The bibim noodle was delicious, filled with veggies and had a great kick to it. I tried the bi-bim noodle and that was also awesome. The fried mandu was very good and bigger than I expected them to be. That brings me to the Baklava. My grandmother used to make Baklava on a regular basis and hers was amazing, this Baklava was on the same level. I would give the Crazy Noodle 5 stars except for the bit of harried service we received while there. I'm heading back to give them another chance, so that might change. But let it be known that if you don't care about prompt, attentive service and all you really want to know is whether the food is worth it- then make the trip. Go to Crazy Noodle. My dining partner and I shared the bim bap sushi appetizer which was DELICIOUS, and we each ordered a noodle dish- I had a soupy GF (rice noodles) seafood combo that had mussels, shrimp, surimi, and a delicious seafood based broth- just the right amount of sea-ness to it. Not too salty or too anything. Really really good, and really really plentiful. This place is an absolute joke. They have no concept of time and are extremely rude about it when you sit there and wait 2 hours for something that takes 5 minutes to make. They also don't close their containers when they send them to go, so it spilled all over my car. I will never step foot back in this awful establishment again. Crazy Noodle is GREAT! It has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Memphis. I eat here every chance I get. I need to branch out and try some of the other dishes, but I liked the first dish I tried so much that I've eaten it about 45 times in a row: SPICY KOREAN RAMEN (add chicken). It's a large bowl of noodle soup, with delicious hearty broth - perfect for a cold day. Trust me - just try it and you'll be hooked. This place isn't bad if you're stuck in Memphis and you're craving Korean food / specifically noodz. This is a great place for Vegetarians too, as I dined with 3 vegetarians and this was their preference for lunch for the day! The food comes out hot and pretty authentic. If you order it with the spicy oil, definitely be prepared to have it spicy! I've tried little bits of everybody's dishes so I have to say its pretty good all around. It's obviously not the standard korean restaurant where you are gifted with the free sides before your meal come, (as it is also noodles focused), but the portions are big! It will definitely fill you up. the interior is older / hipster, has funky decor all over and little figurines. definitely a "midtown memphis" vibe to it. alot of talk about who has the best ramen. the ramen here is pretty good. i usually opt to order the other soupy type of hot noodles though as i think those are what they do the best here. same owners as kwik chek next door. great food, sometimes service is a bit spotty as is the parking but you can survive. must eats for if you're wanting some great tasting high quality noodles! read more

Just like the name, the wait is crazy loooooooong. I went on friday night maybe an hour or so before closing. They were definitely short of staff, especially the kitchen. I think we were the last to be seated, and by the time the food arrived, it's like an hour later. About the food, I think it's a bit overpriced. Probably for a lack of good korean/asian places in Memphis, they can over charge and no one can say a word about it. The food itself is okay, decent flavor but small in portions. Too much soup, and not enough noodles and other stuff in it. I was full at the end, but I think it was all the liquid I drank... Not only my table but all of them, it was one of those moments where you are constantly looking around "They were here before me and they still don't have food yet?" I even watched an argument over in the kitchen. But when I got my food it was delicious, I'm a vegetarian and it was tasty and filling! Our waitress was very helpful in explaining the dishes so if you're not familiar with Korean cuisine don't worry! I also came here on a very hot day and noticed that a lot of people ordered their ramen/hot noodle bowls which means those must be tasty if people are eating ramen on a smoldering day. This is probably my favorite place I've been to in a long longtime! The atmosphere was very friendly, the service was fantastic, and the food was phenomenal! When we walked in,we were greeted by our beautiful waitress who's kind personality made us feel right at home.We quickly got our drinks as soon as we sat down and and our waitress patiently answered all of our questions about the menu because me and my friend were not very familiar with the cuisine. Don't bother if you care at all about customer service or are attempting delivery. I placed an order for ubereats, waited an hour, asked for an update and then it got canceled. I called to figure out what was going on and an employee stated "system glitch" with Uber and she'd make sure it got delivered. I waited another 45 minutes and when I called back, that same employee acted as if that never happened. I calmly explained the situation to the manager and he got all worked up telling me to deal with "uber" and hung up on me. I wouldn't have ordered from this restaurant in the first place given the look of their top ramen noodles, but it was either this or Dominos since Harvey is in town. Oh my god. This is my new favorite restaurant in Overton Square! I can't believe the hundreds of times I have been down Madison and not once did I notice where this place even was! Noodles and ramen dishes alone, this place is far better than Robata. Ambiance level is comfy. Restrooms are cleaner than my life. My friend and I ordered the Korean pancakes to start off and I completely forgot the names of the main dishes we ordered but she got ramen and I got CRAZY SUPER SPICY noodles (the ones with mussels). The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was super friendly. The only problem I had was the wait time. There were only maybe 3 different groups max (including my group) and we waited over 30 minutes for our food. The place itself has a very hippie "vibe" to it. As it is not fancy nor is it the opposite. It has its charms. Once you enter the establishment, you can smell the broth boiling in the kitchen. The menu is your typical korean noodles dishes with a few fusion here and there. It's dark, but it's a perfect place to go during a winter night. It makes you feel like you are in a different place other than memphis. I've been here twice. I had the cheesy ramen the first time and BiBim Naengmyeun the second. Food was great. The food is good for a ramen place in Memphis however the MAJOR problem with this place is the quality of service. I have been here a few times now and I have noticed the following major issues with their waitresses : 1. They are just plainly unfriendly. It does not matter how busy you are, you're still expected to be nice to the customers. A few times I was waiting to be seated and no one ever greeted me until I asked to be seated. 2. Once you're seated, it usually takes another 10-15 mins before your orders are taken. 3. On busy evening, it takes forever to get your food served. It's mainly because they only have two chefs cooking for the whole restaurant. 4. In one occasion, I never got my food served after waiting for 25 mins. I checked and no one actually put the order in. It was that time of the day when I was the ONLY customer dining in, so it was very unacceptable. 5. If you're lucky enough, you will get your water refilled. I think this place has lots of potential to be bigger and better with good management. Stopped by here on a whim with a craving for some noodles, which seems bizarre considering I just graduated from college and I've been binging on ramen for half a century. It's located next door to the Kwik Check on Madison, so you might miss it if you're not careful. The waitress guided me to try the Korean ramen, which was a semi-spicy, vegetarian, super salty noodle dish. I'm hooked. I've been back three times since. Great spot right next to the Kwik Check convenience store. Both places are owned by the same family. We came in on a Wednesday night for dinner, and the cook had to be called in from next door to make the food haha. The decor to this place is hipster and kitchy, but in a good way. Wouldn't be a bad spot for a first date if you both liked Korean food. The food itself is fantastic; there's a whole menu of different sorts of noodle and rice dishes. This spot compares favorably to any Korean spot in a major city in the Northeast or out in Cali. The only thing that's missing is BBQ items! But really, I don't care too much about the grill, but gimme some Korean BBQ wings! That's why I only give it a 4 star review. I'm a native Memphian but had lived in Seattle for over 20 years and I know Asian food quite well. The interior was good except for the kitchen which is pretty filthy and you can easily see that from anywhere you sit. I ordered their signature Crazy Noodle soup and opted for seafood. I counted 4 tiny shrimp, two muscles, two big chucks of Krab and about 5 Calamari. I honestly am not the best reviewer for this as part of the whole Korean dining experience is the heat and I had very little. My order was to go and I also ordered a shrimp appetizer but got something completely different. Didn't discover that until home, so. If you've had narrow landlocked horizons then you will like this place but I honestly could make the broth and noodles at home next time. read more

Look, I don't want to be that girl, but I'm going to be. I liked this place before everyone else did and I was there every other day, and even sometimes two times in a row. There, I did it. It's the smallest little box of love to the left of the iconic Kwik Check on Madison Ave. There is a small sign, but it's really just a small bookmark compared to the other highlights of Overton Square. Honestly, it's the jewel away from the Square. I often get the curry noodle and curry soup. And it's really one of those places that EVERYTHING is delicious, but you'll have to wait for it. Everything is freshly made. I start with the veggie jean or fish jean with a side of rice. The sauce is off the hook; I'm not mad about it. The "Cold Noodle Dishes" are not really cold, but some of the ingredients are raw, which makes the dish cold. Also, very good. It makes it feel like cheating diet food because it's a mix of asian salad, brown noodles, and some kind of protein. Also, let the spiciness be your prerogative. It comes mild and I've seen people cry from the spiciness, but they're into that kind of stuff. It's hot. (Pun intended). Speaking of hot, there's not dessert, so slow your roll..there's not ice cream. But you can bring your own booze which doesn't suck. The wait staff have their own stories being quirky, interesting, and attentive. My favorite part is how busy they get when they get busy. You'll see the staff running around frantically to refill waters and greet guests. Just occupy yourself with the war wall of grown figurines and happy meal toys. Side Note:It's not a first date kind of space as it'll challenge your culinary exploration...and you'll smell like Asian food, which is also your prerogative if you're into that.
