Authentic Cuban in the heart of Bayside with spectacular service and incredibly friendly staff. Each dish is freshly prepared with just the right portion. Live music on weekend evenings and boy is it lively. If you looking for great food, music and dancing then look no further.

I came here for breakfast with my stepmom after we went to our running club. We were starving! The restaurant was really nice inside. Our server was sweet. She took our order and brought us everything we needed throughout the meal. I ordered the French toast and my stepmom got pancakes. We also each got a kid's meal that came with bacon, eggs, hash browns, and a side of toast. I told you, we were starving! All the food was delicious. I definitely want to come back for dinner.

Went to this place for a bday dinner and I was pleasantly surprised! The decor and vibes were super fun! They have live music upstairs which is where we were. I got the Churrasco Cubano with the pickled onions on the side. It was so good I didn't even need the sauce! Honestly it was perfect and totally hit the spot for me! I'd go back for this. Only reason I'm giving this place a 4 is because the service was super super slow! It took us 30 min to get the check after we asked for it.

I love the guacamole here. Sometimes they prepare it by table side. The food is solid here. They have a good happy hour and they also have live band on weekends. I've been here before...so far the oxtail stew and seafood paella are my favorites

Came here for my friends birthday dinner a few weeks ago. We got a few dishes to share- willy's guacamole, fried calamari, cubanito, mixto ceviche, churrasco Cubano and the paella cubana. All the food was really good! BUT My friend and I got a mojito and it was the worst thing I've ever had. It was soooooo strong. I should've asked them to add some sweetener or flavor but just gave it to my bf. The red sangria was really good though and something I would get again They do have live music which I thought would be nice but it was super loud. We could barely hear each other!

I came on a Saturday afternoon. It was fairly empty and we were seated fast. The food was very good and they have great portion sizes. I've passed by this place at night and see it gets very busy so I'm excited to give it another try when it's more active.

Had a wonderful time here. Came for someone's birthday. There is dinner and a show. See video for the show. Several dancers perform. The food is delicious! I ordered a Cuban sandwich. Drinks are wonderful. I would return without a doubt! Highly recommend coming here!

Made reservations via Open table for a brunch for 5. We arrived and only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. CoVid friendly -they took our temperatures when we entered and followed proper seating and mask guidelines as well as equipped each table with hand sanitizer. Super cute place that screams Cuban filled with authenticity! The decor, music, staff and food was superb. 3 of us chose the unlimited drink menu for an additional 12.50 a person. (Note-their website says 10.95) we had champagne punch and mimosas. Both were good. Desserts were delish! They offer outdoor seating if you want to eat outdoors. We would def go back!

I took my husband here 2 weeks ago on a date night because he hasn't gotten the chance to try it yet. We were seated promptly. Our server was really friendly and attentive. We decided to try a few apps - the guacamole, avocado stuffed with crabmeat and the coconut shrimp. They handmade the guacamole in front of you which was a nice & fun little addition to the experience. All the apps were delicious! Honestly everything on the appetizer list looked so good we had a hard time deciding - so at the end of dinner we said we'll just have to come back again to try some more! For dinner I had the paella - the flavor of this was out of this world good. I raved about it as I ate it. It's the best paella I've ever had so far. Cooked to perfection and so fresh tasting. My husband had the ropa vieja, it's his favorite dish and he's gotten it at quite a few restaurants we've been to. He said this was better than even his favorite restaurant's version of it. That's saying a lot! It was so tasty with perfect flavor. Once again the drinks are great too. I went with the frozen mango margarita again because I loved it last time. My husband liked his drink too. This will definitely be a favorite spot of ours from now on. Can't wait to come back and try some more apps.

We love The Cuban! The food can't be beat, the waitstaff is super fun and friendly, and the decor is fantastic. I recommend the Churrasco. Will definitely be back.

Great food and ambiance. Came here the day after thanksgiving. Did not disappoint. Food is always fresh. Drinks are made really well. The portions are great. Always a good time.

The two-floor space that The Cuban occupies has seen so much turnover during the last decade, I've lost count. Historically, previous business owners had focused on catering to the bar crowd - but despite covid starting relatively soon after this restaurant first opened, it held its ground through the pandemic and continues to flourish. I am unsurprised that The Cuban has become so popular with the neighborhood! They offer an impressive brunch menu, a variety of fruity cocktails, and entertainment on the weekends. My only complaints would be the prices, which seem a bit too heavy for what you're getting, and that their food is often too salty (ropa vieja, vaca frita, as well as several appetizer dishes).

If you want something lighter, the Cubano sandwich on Long Island is frequently cited as a destination-worthy staple. The space feels warm and family-run, as what I may describe as stepping into an "abuela's house". The staff is highly attentive and offers great menu recommendations. It tends to get packed--especially on weekend evenings--but the lively vibe (including staff-led birthday songs) adds to the charm. I note that the pricing is moderate and reasonable for the high quality and generous portion sizes, frequently allowing diners to take home leftovers.

I've been coming here for over 10 years, but after visiting twice in the past two weeks and once a few months ago, I've unfortunately been increasingly disappointed. The food and service just aren't what they used to be, while the prices have continued to go up. A few months ago, my paella, which I've ordered many times over the years, tasted off. I didn't say anything then because I figured it was just an off night. But then two weeks ago, my kids and I were served fried wontons that were raw/semi-raw inside. They did take them off the bill, but unfortunately we had each already eaten one before realizing. On our most recent visit last week, we sat for about 10 minutes before we had to get someone's attention to come over to us. We put our apps in and then nobody came back to take our order until the apps were coming out. The girl who brought our drinks had the wrong drinks. My soup was completely forgotten, and my son's food didn't come out with the rest of our meals. He ended up eating some of mine while waiting, and by the time his sides finally came, he didn't even want them anymore. The fried wontons on this visit were absolutely fine though and the food was delicious. I genuinely hate leaving three stars for this because this has been a favorite of mine for so many years, and I have a lot of good memories here. But after several disappointing visits in a row, it's becoming harder to overlook the decline in both quality and service. The servers used to be very attentive and friendly. I really hope things improve because I'd love to enjoy this place the way I used to.

I asked the cashier for recommendations. When I ordered the side of red beans, I wish she would've told me that there was bacon pieces. That's important because me not eating red meat and pork could've been an annoying allergy reason or religion. Either way, I wish I was advised because it doesn't mention it in the menu.
