Best BBQ in the Danbury area! A slightly upscale take on classic BBQ like pulled pork, pork ribs, short ribs, brisket, chicken and waffles. Casual atmosphere. Servers are well trained and attentive. The pine walls and floor offer a warm, cozy, atmosphere with views of either the open kitchen or the BBQ pit outside. I recommend reservations on weekends. They have live music Fri. and Sat. nights. I do not like live music personally, so if you're like me go early like 5 or 6 pm and you should be ahead of it. read more

Worst service ever. Don't come here, they are incompetent. We waited about 5 minutes for the hostess to seat us for our 7pm reservation because she had to go print out menus where she cut off about half the prices of the items. The place was not busy and there were lots of open tables. After asking us what we wanted to drink, it took about 15 minutes for the server to come back and take our order. She was also working behind the bar but it wasn't even that busy and if she can't manage the whole area then there should be another server there. After receiving our appetizers, it took 45 minutes to get our entrees when I ordered a salad and my boyfriend ordered a sandwich. We were never asked how our meals were. They were very subpar and we never got an apology about how late our food was. Overall terrible experience and will not be returning. read more

Unbelievable food and service here. We got an assortment, but the sausage and smoked chicken were our favorites! The house BBQ sauce is unbeatable, but we loved that they give you an array to try. A great smoked bbq place near home! The baby back ribs are so tasty n tender. The 1/2 chicken was smokey n tasty. The sides are very generous proportions. Mashed potatoes side is a meal in itself. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. The decor is perfect for a smoke bbq place. The whole restaurant was immaculately clean. We stopped by Cue tonight for the first time for dinner. We sat at a high top table in the bar area and were immediately greeted and sat by Danica who ended up waiting on us. We got the littleneck clams for an appetizer which had the best flavor! We literally said we could have drank the broth haha! I got the scallops and my fiancé got the filet with the horseradish mashed. Both were INCREDIBLE! We cannot wait to get back here! So many other menu options jumped out at us and we can't wait to try more! Danica was awesome! So knowledgeable and personable. She definitely made the experience. If you've been thinking of coming here, definitely don't wait! Great rustic atmosphere as well. Went this past Sunday and what a train wreck as they were out of brisket, short rib, rolls for grinders or burgers. Staff was overwhelmed w demand and need to make excuses for management/ owner lapses. Owner/manager showed up and only guy in place W/o mask. It's unfortunate as good restaurant and Waiter staff should not take heat for management shortfalls. Pro's: By far the best smoked Brisket in CT. Tender, great bark and super flavorful.. Same for the smoked chicken. Far better than the same at the Cookhouse one town up. Crabcake appetizer excellent as well. Con's: The ribs are advertised as Babyback but as colossal, never really tender. Our last 2 visits with my family of BBQ experts all were turned off by the size, chewiness of the ribs. Far better to get those at the Cookhouse in New Milford. I will come back just for the smoked brisket which is incredible. If the would rethink their ribs, this place could become a masterpiece but bad ribs in a BBQ place? Moved to Danbury from Texas so I know barbecue. First time having The Cue. Absolutely amazing. Ordered "table for four" even though we were feeding five. Could easily have fed ten. The food was great and the ambiance was nice, with live music. The only thing that I would have changed was the service, which was horrible. We waited so long to get any type of recognition from our waitress, then she took so long to come back we had to go to the bar to order our own drinks, followed by waiting another 10 minutes before getting up and asking another worker if we could order. Then after they brought over the food we needed ketchup and had to get up and look around for that after waiting around 10 minutes. Finally when we wanted the check and we had been finished for around 15 minutes we got annoyed when we went to look for our waitress to get the check and found her having a conversation with a co worker not paying attention to any of the tables she had. Had an amazing time here today. Came across here on a rainy Saturday looking all over Danbury for a restaurant. As I thought I was running out of luck, I saw this amazing place. In spite of the rain, the stained wood patio and chairs still looked outstanding, and the entrance was blooming with character. I entered the restaurant, and was seated on the left side by the window. Droplets of rain caked the glass, but to my surprise, I could see a large scale meat grille that contained various pork and steak cutlets. To top it off, a large pig was stored in the smoker, which just goes to show the commitment and dedication that The Cue has in finding and preserving the freshest meat possible. After minutes of deciding off an already awesome variety of options, I decided upon ordering the pulled pork sandwich with a side of hand cut fries. After a 15-20 minute wait, accompanied by some delicious cornbread, I was served my pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries. First off, the sandwich was outstanding! The meat was excellently cooked, was tender and juicy, and had a nice, smokey aftertaste to compliment each bite. Next, the fries were also excellent. The skin and center of each potato was delicately seasoned and bursting with flavor! The servers here were very nice and helpful, and helped ensure me the best possible experience. I'm only giving this "upscale" barbecue joint a one star because the food was half way decent. I sat in the bar with my wife and we ordered two drinks from the bartender Kaitlyn. I swear she didn't even hear us because the drinks were not what we ordered. It was fine they were still alright, but when it came to ordering more drinks, appetizers, and entrees we had to practically tear her eyes away from the other bartender. The other drinks we ordered took our bartender, Kaitlyn, "too long to make" so the other bartender had to make them. They turned out excellent and l'm grateful she helped us. Otherwise I don't think we will be going back to sit in the bar. I understand it can get busy on a weekend night but there's a difference between ignoring your customers and being busy. read more

Was so excited to order from here. We tried a few different things: Now I know it's take out so temp will not be like inside dining but the Fried pickles, onion rings and brisket were all ice cold. The beet salad was supposed to have dressing on side and was loaded with the dressing The bread pudding was nice and warm. The biggest disappointment was the short ribs( the outside was incredibly spicy and rendered it inedible. It was also so fatty, it waste of money. The burger was greasy but good The Creamed corn ,Stuffed shrimp& Cole slaw were all tasty. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. It smells like wood and smoked BBQ and it has such a cozy, elegant atmosphere. The food and service is some of the best I have ever had. The prices are so amazing for how much you receive. We got free cornbread to start followed by six sauces to try with our meals. The pulled pork was phenomenal as was the brisket. The sides are SO good and the portions are huge. Try the parm truffle fries and mac and cheese, WOW! We ended up bringing home so many leftovers and I am such a happy, happy girl. Food is delicious! Though a bit pricier than other places. Thursday-Saturday, depending on the time you go, the parking lot might be full. I've always ordered take-out, so have be directed to "non-spots" by the attendant. Food is usually ready in 20-30 minutes. The staff is pleasant & helpful. Been here a few times while in CT. The atmosphere is nice and well decorated. They have a great selection of beverages as well as food items. I am not a big bbq person but there is something to satisfy everyone. Service can be hit or miss. Sometimes things are swift, while other times thins can take a while. Certain things were good, others not so much. I had the five pork styles entree. The pulled pork was outstanding! The pork tenderloin, which specifically mentions medium rare on the menu, was hideously overcooked. Worst tenderloin ever. My daughter had nachos as an app. There was no cheese on them! I split the pick 3 from the pit with my girlfriend. We got the sausage, brisket and short rib. I was astounded by the quality of the meat. Easy to say it's the best barbecue place I've been to. They serve cornbread free for the table as you sit down, and even offered us more as we were wrapping what we hadn't finished. On top of that they added a small cup of our favorite of their bbq sauces. I came here on a recommendation from a very picky Coworker knowing it would be good, but it ended up exceeding my expectations. read more

Great meal was had. Started with margaritas all around, and because we arrived before 6pm, we got then for $6 as part of Happy Hour! The half rack of ribs was generous. I had to take half home. They were cooked to perfection and served with a flight of various sauces. I paired them with a loaded baked potato...yummy! I also took half of the potato home because it was so big. We hired the Cue for our daughters wedding....I would not want any one else having a party to experience the lack of professionalism that we endured. It was very difficult to get a hold of help by email and phone. I did not receive the final contract until 5 days before our event. They did not coordinate with the rental company as promised. But the most disappointed thing was that they did not follow through on the day of our wedding. We ran out of plates at cocktail hour and staff did not notice. My gluten free quest did not get her meal or dessert until I notified staff. Signature drinks were not posted so quests had no idea of choices. My husband and I were never greeted nor did any staff during our 5 hour event check in with us. I DO NOT recommend using The Cue for your event. You want to spend time enjoying the day instead of being disappointed and chasing after staff. read more
