Today is my birthday during Corona virus. I first sent a message to The Cue via Facebook to find out how their process worked. I received a polite reply with instructions. When I called The Cue the team member who picked up the phone was friendly and patient. Next, The Cue which is in Danbury delivered our food all the way to Newtown. The driver was on time and wished us safety. Our food was delicious! We ordered fried calamari, short rib empanadas. lobster, corn, and shrimp soup as well as the platter for four. The platter was sausage, chicken, brisket, and ribs. For sides we chose manchego mac and cheese, baked beans, mashed potatoes with brisket gravy, and french fries with garlic salt. I can't believe I lived in this area as long as this place has been opened and haven't tried it until now. I ordered the 5 pork sampler which came with rib, loin, sausage, belly, and pulled. DELICIOUS. I LOVED LOVED the bbq sauce flight idea. My fav had to been the honey maple bbq. I got collar green and truffle Mac and cheese as my side. Bursting with flavors! I've been to the Cue many times with family and friends and have yet to have ever had a meal (BBQ, Steaks, Seafood) that was not great. You guy's are doing something right! The reason for this review was to say thanks to the Cue for having our group in for dinner, and as usual doing a great job. Our engineering group does monthly dinners all over. We don't ask for much besides good food, plenty of it. We went to another BBQ outpost in Ridgefield near the holidays last years, when 16 people showed up, reservations confirmed for party multiple times and days ahead, to have basically no food when we've driven an hour to get there is unforgivable. We called the Cue, they made room for us totally last minute, made sure we had all the good stuff, and we kept them there late. Food was great, and they totally saved our night. Fast forward to last night. And a awesome repeat performance for us, including making sure we had smoked prime rib available, which was fantastic, and not normally a Thursday night special. We had a "Table for 4 BBQ" tasting board for each of our tables as an appetizer for the table and several others, all were great, and everyone had a dinner afterwards with everyone very happy. All this and the best bourbon list in the state. My only ding here was there was no Weller 12 on the list. But again that's a pretty hard to get bottle lately. Was looking for a good bbq place and the cue popped up on my search and so glad it did. Pulling into the lot on a Monday night and it was crowded so that was the first good sign. We where seated right away and there is ample room inside and a really nice bar. The waitress came right over and took our drink orders and asked if we had any questions. I ordered the 5 pork menu and my wife ordered a pull pork sandwich. Tye 5 pork platter blew my mind away, everything I ate was better than the last. The rib was perfectly smoked and cooked with a little pull and bite to it. I hate over cooked soft ribs. The pork tenderloin was the best thing I had in a long time. It was super juicy and crispy on the outside. The pulled pork dipped into their vinegar was phenomal and the pork belly was crispy and delicious. Holy Crusty Goodness! We had fried pickles!! Pulled Pork!! Short Ribs!! Pork Ribs!! Roasted Cauliflower!! Cole Slaw!! And the best damn Bread Pudding on the planet!! The crust on the meat was unbelievable and oh so good. The cauliflower was amazing. The bread pudding was cooking so we waited 20 minutes for it to be done which was perfect since we could digest before it arrived. It was delivered in a sizzling cast iron skillet. I have lived in the South for 20 years and never had bread pudding this good. We had 5 different sauces for the meat and I was not a huge fan since they were more sweet than spicy. The Carolina vinegar was the best. I would highly recommend this place for excellent BBQ. read more

We visit them often. Love everything about the Cue. Everything from the food, to the service, to the ambiance, everything is always perfection. They are always attentive to our needs. It had been several years since we first visited The Cue. I had forgotten that there's some fancier dishes in the menu than your regular BBQ place. Actually, you will be spoiled for choices, as many things do sound delicious. We had the fried pickles as appetizer (great!), the brisket mac and cheese (the gnocchi by themselves were weirdly better than the brisket) and the pork butt fettucine (decent but not great). Overall, it was a 3.5 out of 5. Nothing wowed, but it wasn't a bust either. The brisket not being amazing was a cause for concern in a BBQ place, especially when we love the brisket from 4Rivers in Orlando and this was a whole different flavor profile. May return again sometime but still not the BBQ excellence we hoped for. read more

Menu is marked gluten free, but it isn't celiac safe. Our waitress insisted everything marked gluten free was safe, including items in the fryer. I wonder who set portion sizes for the "Table for Four" ($108) at The Cue. The amount of meat that came as part of this feast could feed four giants, perhaps -- or seven regular-sized humans... or ten skinny Manhattanites. Although portion sizes for the three accompanying sides are comparatively tiny, if you order in and whip up a salad or two to balance out the grease, you've got yourself a phenomenal feast for a large group. The quality of the smoked meats was quite high. The preparations were not as much to our tastes as Big W's -- meats from the Cue were not as intensely smoked and didn't have as much of the fat cooked off as Big W -- but they were head and shoulders better than the Cookhouse, our other local go-to for barbecue. There was a lot of gorgeous, well-developed bark on the pulled pork. Brisket was tender and flavorful, sliced a bit thicker than what I personally consider ideal, but had just the right ratio of meat and fat in my book. The skin on both the chicken and the sausage were nice and snappy. These are good, old-school sausages: They didn't skimp on the fat, were coarse-ground, and had a casing that was almost certainly real intestine. Hard core sausage lovers (@butchergirlsco; https://ny.eater.com/2019/6/24/18692917/je-small-goods-jocelyn-guest-erika-nakamura-sausages) will swoon. The ribs were phenomenal. They weren't as long-smoked as Big W's, so didn't have as deep of a smoke flavor. But each piece was huge, meaty and retained its jus. I used bbq sauce (plain ol' classic) as a dip for most meats, but not on the ribs. They were too good on their own to have anything obscure that luscious flavor -- though I did sprinkle on a wee bit of extra salt. Now, let's talk sides. Our three were blackened cauliflower, manchego truffle mac 'n' cheese, and manchego bacon fries. I enjoyed the pepperiness of the cauliflower, a vegetable I am passionate about in almost any form. It was cooked al dente, and on the oilier side of the spectrum, which were less to my taste -- but could very well be to yours. I didn't get much truffle flavor from the truffle mac 'n' cheese, though perhaps it was overpowered by the manchego. This dish is for fans of very cheesy mac 'n' cheese Fries were very good, truly hand-cut by the look-feel of it. I was almost sad we ordered them with manchego and bacon given how good they would've been just plain. They came with a generous drizzle of melted manchego, which mostly pooled at the bottom of the container, a lighter sprinkle of diced, thick-cut bacon, which we absolutely didn't mind given how much meat we already had to contend with. I can't imagine how amazing these would be fresh out of the frier, instead of by delivery. This humble-looking establishment tucked into an elbow on Pandanaram Road should absolutely not be overlooked, folks. We hope to someday be able to dine in to that live music we've read about. Husband had chicken and waffles he loved could only eat half these are large portions, I had the brisket with a loaded baked potato and I ordered a side of baked beans. We were really excited to try the barbecue at this restaurant. The drinks were very delicious, but unfortunately we didn't have a good service experience. They sat us down and took our order for drinks and appetizers. The nachos for our app took 45 minutes to come out and eventually I asked what the eta is and that we would like to order our entrees. The waitress informed us that there was absolutely no barbecue food left (which is more than half of their menu). When we got our nachos, there was maybe 5 bites of pulled pork on them. My husband and I have been looking for a BBQ restaurant for years with excellent food that doesn't spike my blood sugar - I'm a Type 1 Diabetic and sometimes there are hidden sugars in the sauces that just ruin my day. Well, we found our place with The Cue! The food was absolutely delicious and my blood sugar didn't spike like it normally does when I eat BBQ! A flight of BBQ sauce came with our order...how cool is that?! We were sitting at a table by the bar, and their wall of bourbon made me smile since we are big fans of bourbon and scotch. The list of what they have is incredible! I tried their Old Fashioned and it was a perfectly balanced cocktail. My husband tried the Sweet Tea and loved it! Our waitress was personable and helpful when my husband was torn about which side dish to choose. The prices were very reasonable, especially since the portions are huge! We were so full that we couldn't get dessert (and the menu looked amazing!), but we will try it the next time for sure! I had a nice meal of the chili soup with a couple of glasses of rose wine with good service on a Friday evening. Came back a week later for live music and hang with my friends. I had the same two glasses of rose wine and when I got the bill I was flabbergasted! The price of the wine had doubled, from $6 a glass to $12. When I questioned the price, the bartender said that's our price for Rose. So it doubles in one week? I specifically asked for the house Rose. My friend had 3 glasses of house white wine and paid $18. I don't get it. The service was horrible too. Tried the Brisket, wanted to eat there, but got a call and had to leave! Tasted the brisket and BBQ beans... WOW... wanted to stay and finish, but business comes first. The staff was pleasant - Emma was the person whom recommended this establishment. She is soooo nice (I was comparing my pleasant experience with HooDoo BBQ), and she stated to give (The Cue) a try, and so I did. The Brisket was seasoned very well, bark and smoke ring were on point (you can taste the salt, but it wasn't too salty, if you know what I mean). The BBQ baked beans were very tasty, creamy, and flavorful, not mushy! I was offered some cornbread but did not have an opportunity to sample it!
