I ordered five dozen cupcakes and a 6-inch cake for an important family event. Unfortunately, the cupcakes were dry, crumbly, and disappointing. Numerous guests commented on the quality, and most were left uneaten on the tables. After the event, I contacted the owner to discuss my concerns. He asked for time to investigate and stated that he would call me back after speaking with his staff. That call never came, and I ultimately had to contact the bakery again a week later. What followed was extremely disappointing. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or considering that something may have gone wrong with that particular order, the owner repeatedly insisted that the cupcakes could not have been dry because they had been made fresh. My experience, as well as the experience of my guests, was dismissed rather than acknowledged. I was not demanding anything. I simply wanted to discuss a product that failed to meet expectations and hear how the bakery intended to address the situation. Instead, the conversation became confrontational. The owner focused on defending the product rather than understanding the customer's concerns. He made comments about my guests that I found inappropriate and repeatedly implied that my account of what occurred was not credible. At one point, he even stated that he did not understand why anyone would pay $3.50 for a cupcake, despite that being the price his bakery charges. While the owner ultimately issued a refund, the refund does not change the fact that the customer service experience was deeply disappointing. Everyone makes mistakes. Products occasionally miss the mark. What matters is how a business responds when concerns are raised. I also offered to give the bakery another chance and stated that I would be willing to come back and try their products again in case this was simply a one-time issue. The owner responded by telling me that I was no longer welcome in the bakery. That response alone speaks volumes. Based on both the quality of my order and the way this matter was handled, I cannot recommend this bakery. read more

I attended a family function that had these cupcakes featured after dinner for dessert. They looked rather decent and delectable, but that's where the appeal stopped. Having been excited for cupcakes, my son (10) took a large bite and gagged on the overwhelming dryness and hardly stifled the bite down. He refused to touch the rest. I tried as well and found them to be unbelievably dry and unable to enjoy. They were super cloyingly sweet, and driest cupcakes ever. Not a single cupcake was eaten by anyone. They were all left barely touched or thrown away. I wouldn't eat these for free at someone else's event, much less pay over $3 each for them. How terrible! I actually came here one time before and the peanut butter chocolate treat I got was rich and decadent I love it. Knowing that I decided to pop in for a treat I was immediately hit in the face by a terrible smell I 100% should have hightailed it out of there but went against my better judgement decided to try a lemon cookie. It was undercooked and the icing was rock hard and it had a weird flavor I would expect was from the smell in the air. The ladies working the front were both inviting and friendly that's why I decided to give the place two stars for them and one for my favorite treat. I was really hoping to like this place so I can buy local cupcakes. Man, was a disappointed though. I bought 6 cupcakes and a lemon bar. The cupcakes are minis and they offer a regular selection of flavors as well as three daily flavors. Most of the cupcakes lacked flavor. The spiced chai and brown sugar pecan were my favorite and actually quite delicious, which happened to be their daily flavors....makes me wonder if they freeze their cupcakes (the regular flavors) which then leads to the flavor disappearing. Who knows, but other cupcakes were not good. I may have to return once more to give them a second shot. The lemon bar was good but tons is sugar in it. I really liked the crust she used...delicious. I recently had the best lunch at the Cupcake Company. The restaurant is very cute, cozy and comfortable. We were greeted by friendly staff as soon as we walked in and made to feel welcome. My husband had a Tuna Melt and I had their Candied Walnut Salad. First of all, I have never had a better salad... YUM! My husband said the tuna melt was delish, as well! We both had cupcakes, which were moist, fresh and super yummy. Overall, the experience was delightful and I can't wait to go back. The cupcake selection looked kind of sparse and we inquired if there were additional cupcakes in the back since we planned on buying at least 1 dozen large cupcakes to-go. The slender blond lady (young) made it clear that checking in the back was an inconvenience and assured me that there was a combination of cupcakes in the back, but not much to choose from *she didn't move*. We asked her if she had more of this one, that one, named 3rd choice... she just shook her head each time. I finally asked, "so, which ones do you have more of?" The young lady was passive/aggressive in her behavior and mannerisms (definitely not customer service oriented). She finally went to the back and told me which ones she had more of. We made our selections for the dozen. Because the selection was minimal, we ordered an additional 1 dozen of the small cupcakes (and picked from what was visible). Next, we asked about the lunch menu. The young lady was exasperated and told us, "We don't have any food left. We are done for the day." I was surprised at this response since it was only 3pm and the store is said to be open until 5pm (2 more hours). She then clarified, "Well... it's not that we don't have any food, we already put it away." Odd, but ok. Perhaps they should list hours for food service somewhere OR take down the lunch menu boards once food is no longer available; both would be helpful if the food hours are limited. We spent over $50 in cupcakes and probably would have spent another $25 on lunch and beverages. Oh well. We most definitely won't be back anytime soon, but probably next year for our annual cupcake haul (unless another cupcake place opens up). Tried the a little cheesecake with my boyfriend here yesterday. It was the most delicious cake I've ever had. Oreo all within the cake, light, fluffy cheesecake base and the most delicious whipped cream on top. After ordering we decided to sit down at one of the tables in the building and sneak a few bites before heading out. About two bites in and we found a hair baked in to the cake. I let the staff know and the young girl told me that they make all of the items in house so it happens every now and again but she would give me a new cake anyways... Uhm... I don't want to hear excuses for your lack of hair nets. Also...RUDE! The rest of the staff also keeps their backs turned from the customers most of the time so unless you address them first at the counter you'll just end up standing and waiting for longer than necessary. Anyways, fast forward to the next day. Again we're indulging in the same style cake, hair free this time when after a few bites we find another freaking hair in the damn cake! Two in a row on our first ever visit!! If you want hair free treats don't bother ordering any cakes or sweets for your loved ones here. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and realized none of the employees were wearing masks. Indoor masking is still required in Oregon, so I asked why. The woman at the counter said, "The owner believes people should have the right to choose." I was floored. This isn't some repair shop with little interaction with the public. This is a food establishment surrounded by nursing homes, assisted living facilities, medical clinics and a hospital. Its customers are likely to be vulnerable to COVID and the highly transmissible omicron variant. Many are elderly and some, no doubt, have compromised immune systems. The owner is putting their health and their lives at risk for what? To make a political statement? To own the libs? Sorry, but this is unconscionable. Having traveled all the way to LA (Sprinkles), SF (Kara's, That Takes The Cake), and Portland (Cupcake Jones, St. Cupcake) and partaking in some excellent cupcakes, I was happy to see a cupcake place open locally. And given the general lack of anything gastronomically appealing in southern Oregon, a good cupcake place would've been an oasis in the desert. Well, it's still a desert for desserts. I sampled the Chocolate Cheesecake and the Peanut Butter Cup. Frosting was tasty enough, but the cake was dry as a bone. So in that sense, I guess the desert analogy is appropriate given how exceptionally arid these cupcakes were. Dry dry dry. A cupcake ought to be moist, and these fell way short. That's too bad. I really wanted these cupcakes to be good, as it would've been nice to have something local. But as with most things, if you want something good (particularly when it comes to food), you're not going to find it in Medford. I will be open-minded though. Perhaps it was just a bad batch. I'll give them another shot and hopefully it'll be a winner. But the first impression was definitely not a good impression. read more

How have I not known about this place!? It's probably best, because this hidden gem is amazing. The staff was beyond helpful, the selection was great, and the quality for what I paid made it so worth the extra calories. I got four small cupcakes, two daily flavors and two regular flavors. Cherry Limeade-daily season this was one of my favorites! Pink cherry frosting w tiny lime green sprinkles covered the top, and when I bit into it, I realized it had a cherry limeade jelly like filling. The flavor was perfect, the cupcake was moist and delicious... I was super pleased. Next was the lemon blueberry, and this daily seasonal flavor did not disappoint, coming in second. The lemon frosting was topped with a fresh blueberry to start. When I unwrapped it, the bottom was more blueberries baked in. When I bit into it, there was a lemon filling! This was such a good cupcake. The(regular item on menu) German chocolate cupcakes was topped with a fresh cherry, and the frosting was coconut filled happiness. Last was the red velvet which I enjoyed. The cream cheese frosting and small red sprinkles were the "icing on the cake." I went through Cupcake Company for my wedding cupcakes. The cupcakes taste great and the decorations are cute. I did an assortment of 3 different kinds and had the 6 inch round cake topper match one of the cupcake styles since the colors were right for the wedding and it was one less thing to worry about. The service was alright. I arrived late to both of my appointments and they did not seem too annoyed with me so I'm grateful for that. The price was also decent. The bad - since I was having a mid-summer, evening, outdoor wedding, we were worried it might be too hot for the cupcakes to sit if we set up beforehand so we decided that the delivery/set up would take place after the ceremony. The ladies arrived to set up the cupcakes at the exact time we had asked. The problem, and I have a hard time faulting them for this, is that they showed up with children which struck me and some of my friends and family as odd and a little unprofessional especially considering that they knew ahead of time that they were showing up during the wedding ceremony/reception. On the one hand, I really appreciate that the Cupcake Company is accommodating to employees with children, on the other hand, I would have appreciated having been asked if I would mind having the kids tag along or at least a heads up. I more than likely would have been okay with this, but I feel like there a number of reasons another bride might have said no to such a request. The other bad - the cake was delivered with some damage. About a 3 inch section of the top of the cake was a little smashed. The cake was situated so the damaged part was facing away from the crowd, but was along the top rim so not fully able to be hidden. The owner has since reached out to apologize noting that this a type of damage can occur with fruit topped cakes. I'm disappointed to have paid for delivery and set up when the main reason I didn't transport the cake myself was because I was worried about damage in transit. The short of it: good cupcakes, good customer service leading up to the event, but lacking on professionalism at the event itself and in follow-up communication. I would not recommend the cupcake company for a wedding, but maybe for a less formal event like a birthday. read more

I called The Cupcake Company a couple of days before our cake tasting to set it up. I had gone to three bakeries and none of them were what we wanted (cake is dry, flavors wayyyy too strong, poor presentation, etc.). We made an appointment and it literally took all of 15 minutes. I showed her some cakes on pinterest that I loved, we picked three flavors to try and even though the decision was difficult (because everything was amazing), we decided on strawberry shortcake for a layer and triple chocolate for another layer. We paid, thanked her and left, feeling confident in their abilities to pull it off. They were even able to deliver all the way to Klamath Falls for us! Day of the wedding, I didn't even know they had come and gone! They were so stealthy and professional. The cake looked amazing and tasted even better. I must start by saying I love a good cupcake, but after so many shops not being able to deliver the goods I'm a bit reluctant to keep trying to find what my tastebuds desire. That said, I stumbled across this little gem and decided to go in. Their branding caught my eye and once inside the neatly arranged showcases pulled me ever closer. I ordered a lemon cupcake (a personal favorite for any cake). Siting down to enjoy this luscious treasure I knew it was perfect from the first bite! Just enough tartness coming from the hidden lemon curd inside to balance the sweet buttercream icing piped preciously on top in a simple swirl. Moist cake, creamy icing, sweetness that lingered just long enough until the next bite. So I guess what I'm saying is this place is the bomb for cupcakes that I would consider perfection. But it doesn't stop there. Their hot sandwiches are off the charts with an amazing pork belly Ruben made completely from scratch by the owner "Jim". Dry rubbed with an amazing spice blend and then roasted in a low oven for hours until tender. Needless to say, I've been back to this shop 4 days in a row! The staff if super friendly and very helpful. "Erin" is my go-to girl for cupcakes, sandwiches and she pulls a great cappuccino too. Thanks guys! read more

Even though it was so last minute, they said yes and were able to deliver the cupcakes to him this afternoon! He received them and was really happy. Plus, everything was really affordable! Less than $25 for half a dozen cupcakes - including delivery! Last, but not least, the woman who help me place the order was incredibly sweet and happy to help, which made my experience that much more enjoyable. I strongly disagree, i have tried many of their cupcakes and have yet to find a dry cupcake, having tried many, I have found my favorite to be the razzle dazzle! I have also in fact tried cupcakes from Cupcake Creation on Micandrews, and have found them to be 1 out of a five scale rating, i did in fact ask the owner how they make their cupcakes, and his response was "we make our cupcakes out of box cakes (from a grocery store) and whip cream frosting" none of which do they personally make from scratch, there fore i find their cupcakes to have a different and not so flattering taste, and will personally never have their cupcakes again! I have found The Cupcake Company to be a very Beautifully decorated bakery, the owners are very kind and helpful, I did in fact ask the owner how they to make their cupcakes and her response was "My Husband and Brother come in every morning around 2:30am to make every cupcakes from scratch, as well as the frosting from scratch" I strongly recommend them for any and all parties, weddings, etc. and even to just sit down and enjoy a cupcakes with a cup of Good Bean coffee. read more
