"Carrots" meant 4 (kind of sad) carrots, and the mushroom (the main part of the dish) was so small it was comical. My dad was disappointed (he also wanted to love it here) and when they asked how it was, he gave his honest feedback. The waitress took the info back and he repeated his thoughts to the manager about the disappointing portion. He said he only got like two bites of potato and she said "oh they weren't in pyramids?" (Like that resolves the quantity of food?) He repeated again that it was about the quantity and was told "No one has said that about this." I suppose people must only have thought it... Felt really dismissive to say to someone, especially because this plate was apparently new (they said today was the first day they had it). They didn't comp anything or even discount it after the manager came over, which I feel like is standard practice when folks are unhappy with their meal. Felt like she just wanted to shut down the complaint rather than resolve it. They brought us, at the end of the meal, a "thank you" which was 2 lemon candies... there were 3 of us (not that we really wanted them anyway, but weird to not give at least one per person). The atmosphere is relaxed, the place is quite small in a sweet way and it's tucked away from the street, but I will never return. Ridiculous pricing for tiny portions. It felt like a SNL skit.

Here's everything we ordered: Agnolotti stuffed with tofu ricotta, with English peas, bacon, and a savory broth (my entree, I loved this - the broth was quite salty but the peas added a lovely freshness) Fazzoletti e funghi: local blue oyster mushrooms in a white wine cream sauce ‍ (my Mom's entree, also delicious and so umami) "Ivy rose" mocktail with grapefruit, prickly pear, and limeade (delightful!) Appetizers: fried squash blossoms stuffed with tofu ricotta in pomodoro sauce, and housemade focaccia with a trio of whipped butters (thyme and shallot, Calabrian chili, and smoked sweet onion). The ratio of butter to focaccia was more than double what we could use (we ordered more focaccia to spread it on!) but both of these apps were perfect. Foglia burger: house burger patty, tomato jam, garlic aioli, lettuce, onions, pickles, onion ring, housemade focaccia, and spicy agave parsnip fries (my dad's entree and to my delight he really enjoyed it!) Dessert: a gigantic slice of tiramisu (my favorite cake!). This was a huge slab, enough to share and have some leftover for breakfast. A little on the dry side for tiramisu but still really nice. Foglia is such a gem and we had a great time in Bristol, it's a beautiful town. The restaurant is small and cozy but was not too busy when we went. I highly recommend Foglia for a special occasion!

Curry House in Franklin is a solid local option when you're in the mood for Indian cuisine that delivers on flavor without unnecessary frills. The food quality is consistently good, the portions are generous, and while the prices lean slightly higher than some nearby spots, you do get real value for what comes out of the kitchen. The standout items are the classics. The chicken tikka masala is rich, well-balanced, and not overly sweet, while the butter chicken is creamy with a depth of spice that doesn't get lost in the sauce. The naan is excellent -- soft, warm, and clearly fresh -- and the rice is perfectly prepared, light and fluffy, making it a great base for soaking up the sauces. I primarily go here for take-out, and at that this place excels. Call ahead and they will give you a pickup time. Once there, you don't have to even leave your car to pay and get your food. That's because the building is a renovated faced food restaurant. The food is fantastic! It has the typical Northern India fare, with the usual meats (chicken, lamb, no beef) and the usual sauces (korma, saag) all done to perfection. The inside is nothing special. It has basic tables and chairs in a single open space, but it is perfectly adequate for dining. I think it has a full liquor license, but no bar or taps. One downside for me for eating in is that they have Indian music videos playing all the time with pretty bright lighting, reminiscent of its fast food restaurant days. So, glad to see a good Indian restaurant open in the area again. We ordered take out last night and the food was excellent. The staff/owners are friendly and really doing a great job. We ordered all our favorites Tikki Marsala, Bangan Bharta, a Daal dish, mixed bread Naan and Biriyani... The dishes were amazing and you can order how spicy you want it. What we didn't realize is that basmati rice came with the entrees otherwise I probably would not have ordered the Biriyani but glad I did becuse it was so much better that plain basmati rice. The restaurant doesn't have a liquor license yet but think they said it was in process. Great food and worth a visit read more

I was worried that when I moved out of the city, I would have no Indian food options, but luckily The Curry House has me covered. I have experienced both their buffet and their take out. Every dish at the buffet was great. I would definitely go back for it. For take out, I ordered medium spice, and as someone who usually wants a little spicier than medium, I was surprised by how spicy it was. So if you're worried about spice, I would stick to mild. The people working there seem to be friendly and concerned with their customers. So don't let the odd facade scare you off. The Curry House works to satisfy my Indian cravings. read more

Owner or whoever the fat guy works there is morning is out of his mind. We went for a buffet and he walked to us and started complaining about expensive/cost of raw food, how people expect more for money and what not. How on earth this is appropriate to complain to a customer. Learn some manners. And though it is buffet, they will serve you - mind it you can't get your own food. Worst thing is, they mix rice and curries together at once. Don't even care id I want naan first or if i eat rice later or whatnot.. Bunch of crazy folks. If you like well prepared Indian food with fresh ingredients and lots of flavor, then you should try The Curry House. My family just had an excellent dinner there and we highly recommend it. The meal was authentic and wonderfully prepared. We had chicken tikka masala, baigan bharta, chicken vindaloo, aloo paratha, vegetable pakoras and samosa and all were delicious. They are still settling in after just opening and the service has yet to find its stride but the food was outstanding. read more

I'm from the UK and love a good curry, I've not been lucky finding a good one in the USA... until now! I had a hot Chicken Balti - it was bursting with flavour and boy was it spicy - absolutely fantastic. My wife had a medium lamb rougan josh - it was excellent - the lamb was incredibly tender, the best she's had in a curry - ever. We had a paratha and some rice too - all just right. I've eaten in the dining room a handful of times, which is fine, but typically order as takeout 2-3 times in a month. The drive through window for pickup is a bonus. Excellent! Just opened and while the service needs a bit of work, the food is authentic. We had Samosa, veggie Pakora, Coconut Soup, chicken Tikka masala, chicken vindaloo (the mild was hot enough!). Saag is my go to at every new Indian restaurant. This one was also just fine. It may be preference but I like my saag to be creamier and have a fresher spinach flavor than Vaanga's had. The chicken was plentiful but in especially large chunks which made cutting it hard to do. Not a huge fan of the chili cheese naan either. They were oily with barely any cheese- they felt more like a cheese quesadilla from Taco Bell. I always give restaurants second chances and I appreciate that Vaanga opened in such a varied location but I'd like to try some other things on the menu to see if I like them more.

I asked which ribs are better the boneless or the bone in ribs. She said the bone in . I ordered the bone in ribs, lobster sauce with add on shrimp for 2.00. I selected the egg roll, pork fried rice as the meal options. All food was extremely hot .maybe microwave too hot. Ribs were very hot and overcooked a bit Tough chew. Pic shows the bubbly juice from under the broiler too long. 2 ribs were in-fact Beefy, meaty and were the redeeming two ribs of the pile. Lobster sauce with the 4 shrimp arrived in a bowl with a spoon. The bowl was small portion. Very watery like soup and I needed the spoon. Sauce had no spices... meat was ok but Hamburg tasting with no flavors... shrimp were happy deveined . 4 shrimp for 2.00 add on I guess ok... Egg roll was hard as a brick ( a window breaker) and it wasn't fried ... maybe this was frozen then baked? Inside of egg rolls was ok and I used as a dropping in lobster soup .i don't think the cook is hand rolling fresh daily... I envision a zip loc stack of these egg rolls in the freezer . Rice was reheated in a microwave or from a steam pot. I must say that 4 regulars who appeared were working painters that came in while I was there . They did ordered beef and broccoli and white rice, chicken teriyaki did look a good lunch... maybe my choices were bad ones as others in life have told me. Carpet needs cleaning or replacing . Maybe the painters can update and paint the restroom? I try to support small family restaurants and this restaurant has been in operation for many years ... so patrons must be ordering a lot of take out as the place was empty on a Sunday lunchtime ...prices were I guess reasonable but it wasn't a 35 dollar lunch value for me.
