I love the view. I love the inside and outside. The food is amazing. The the servers are pretty knowledgeable and great. However, the hostess is not inviting. She has Black hair might be Hispanic I'm here on Friday at 2:11pm and I'm a Black female by myself. Just saying you have this gorgeous restaurant with amazing food but the first person greeting is not inviting nor friendly. Not sure if yall be back but the two times I did go, were good overall besides a not friendly hostess.

Great place with good service, views for days, and amazing food! Started with a huge martini! The fried artichoke hearts are always great! Love the bread and butter too! The branzino was delish and was very filling. I enjoyed their famous sizzling skillets with shrimp and mussels. A feast!!

Had dinner here with a friend and it was lovely! Great service. Good food. Beautiful views. We both had prime rib with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The spinach could have been creamer, but it was still good. The bread, of course, is the best!!! Creme Brulee cheesecake and tirmasusi for dessert! Both very lovely choices. I had a sangria and it was refreshing. Will return!

Fun stop for early mother's day treat. Busy spot, loads of parking, some near, some far (a block or two away.) Reserve a time online, makes the visit quick and easy. Lots of windows with views of the Carquinez Strait and the bridge. We sat indoors and enjoyed a great view. Noticed hummingbirds flitting above the plants and vines on the balcony . Large, varied menu. Ordered bowl of clam chowder to start. Warm, creamy, chock full of onions, clam bits. Got more tasty the more I ate it; flavors build up. I ordered the Salmon plate with capers and vegetables. My #1 daughter ordered the big wedge salad with blue cheese and smoked salmon. Great taste, very filling. Lovely wait staff were attentive, pleasant and professional. We had a great visit.

My husband and I had a nice dinner last weekend. We actually made a reservation online as we were driving over. Since we were early, we had a drink at the bar, and they sat us at our table when it was ready. We had a crab crostini (like a loaded--if small--avocado toast), really good. Then I had lasagna as my entree, also can't go wrong, and my husband had cioppino, which he always goes for. Paired with the fresh bread, everything was great. We didn't have a window seat, but we still looked out a little toward the bridge, and it was such a pretty view as the sun was setting.

A Waterfront Gem Worth Returning To The Dead Fish continues to be one of our favorite places to celebrate life's special moments. We visit about 2-4 times a year, and this most recent visit was especially memorable as we celebrated my husband's birthday and my retirement after 36 years of service. Our party of four started with the calamari and chili cheese fries, which were the perfect appetizers to share. For our entrees, we enjoyed the snapper, prime rib, a seafood platter loaded with clams, shrimp, and crab, and the Crab Feast with garlic noodles. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, generously portioned, and beautifully prepared. If you're a seafood lover, you won't be disappointed! What truly makes The Dead Fish stand out is the exceptional hospitality. The staff was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our entire visit, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. We also chose to dine on the outdoor patio, where the scenic waterfront and bridge views created the perfect backdrop for such a meaningful celebration. The relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, and outstanding service made the occasion even more special. It's easy to understand why so many people praise The Dead Fish for its attentive staff, beautiful water views, lively ambiance, and outstanding seafood. We always leave with wonderful memories and look forward to our next visit. Highly recommend for celebrations, date nights, family gatherings, or anyone looking for great seafood with an unforgettable waterfront view!

5stars for food only: Ordered prime rib take out, it was excellent. Quick service but very unfriendly young hostess on August 19th @ Noon. hostess, never greeted or said thank you until she got tip, I ask for horseradish she said they don't have it. When I know for sure they do & ask her if she could check again & they had it. I ask for butter for my Epi bread rolls she said it's in the bag. Nothing but horseradish..She needs more training to properly serve customers..

It's been a while since we've visited so I was lil excited. Let's jump right in. BlackBerry Lemon drop 4/5 Nice flavor but the blueberry garnish was incongruous, it played heavily on my brain... Calamari 3.8/5 Nice cook, crisp but they needed a touch more s&p. Crab cakes 4/5 Cooked to perfection with a nice crunchy exterior and moist, meaty interior. Spicy chowder 3/5 There wasn't any spice and the petite potato & clam bits left me in want... Garlic noodles w/shrimp 3/5 There was no garlic, huge let down. Crab & shrimp skillet 3.7/5 For $70 I expected much larger shrimp & crab. The flavor was good and I guess the portion of shrimp makes up for the lack in size but far from a hit. Outside seating was nice w/good views & service was great; attentive staff, working to please & satisfy. #GoTaste&See.....w/optimism

Went on 7/12/2026 and haven't been there in over 30 or so years. The parking lot was full but got a table right away. I don't know where everyone was seated so this place must have upstairs and outdoor seating. I had the Chickenwich sandwich with fries and a Liter Lagunitas Ipa beer. This was good stop on the way home from visiting a friend in Brentwood. Excellent view of the Carquinez bridge with boats coming by.

This is a really great place if you're all about ambiance. It overlooks the bay and bridges. It's super cute inside. The food is absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough about it. We had salads, crab legs (the drawn butter was heavenly), crab lasagna which was so flavorful and divine, clam chowder with crab on top (best we've ever had). Seriously, absolutely fantastic food. Our wait staff was attentive. Unfortunately because my mom was having issues with pain in her leg, I didn't catch our server's name but she was really sweet. I felt the prices were fair. The quality and taste of the food is exceptional. I definitely recommend stopping here if you're ever in the Benecia area.

I really thought after the rodent incident things may have gotten better here. The hostess left us sitting at the table 25-30 mins we were ready to go after this. The food felt cheapened the shrimps and crab size was very small. It took a lot or time and effort to enjoy the food. I love mussels served any style these were dry and the shells were broken if not careful you could cut your fingers. The ceasar salad and clamchowder was very good. I love bread and butter anywhere. It was very good bread the butter was a bit cold and difficult to spread. I probably would not return. Years ago it use to be a hot spot for seafood especially the crab. PRICE: crab and shrimp not worth it PARKING: limited QUALIFY: seafood needs to represent cost AMBIANCE: nice views STAFF: could be improved

Been in the Bay for so long and I've never heard of The Dead Fish! It has one of the most beautiful views in the Bay for sure. We celebrated a birthday here and with the part of 10, we were seated in a private room overlooking the water. It was truly breathtaking. Our waitress was really attentive and sweet in taking care of us and helping with the cakes we brought in as well. Everyone in the party ordered their separate entrees and honestly seemed very pleased with everything. I loved the table side bread. They reminded of little French baguettes. They are a bit in the denser side but put any bread and butter in front of me and I am ecstatic. For my meal, I had the sea bass with couscous and crab cakes. I loved how fresh the sea bass tasted and it wasn't too fishy at all. The marinade was beyond and I can't remember the last time I had such divine couscous. It does get a little heavy since it is a little oily with all that good ol butter but nothing a mini baguette can't soak up! The crab cakes were creamy and filled with a generous portion of crab. We enjoyed our time here as we enjoyed the food and the views of the water definitely made it all the better. It seems like the place to go if you're celebrating something!

    Hamburger Helper Mac Lasagna

Why do restaurants change crowd pleasing menu selections with untested recipes? For example, The dead Fish is not known for advance culinary artistry. It is known for trust worthy food and drinks. I am completely flabbergasted and confused how the Lasagna was changed to some crazy mix of Hamburger helper and Macaroni and cheese hybrid. And get this $28 for bad macaroni and cheese and hamburger helper sauce. HORRIBLE! OVERPRICED! I was warned that this was not the thing to order by another (maybe not for too much longer if the menu slip ups continue) patron as well. DON'T ORDER THE FRANKENSTEIN MACARONI LASAGNA WITHOUT A NEARBY BARF BAG NEARBY. Why not the classic poor student version 'Tuna and Mac' at least it has standing.

    Great cocktails!

It takes awhile for the server to come assist you, especially ordering drinks. Half our table got drinks and finished before the other got to order. The drinks took awhile to come out and came at different times and were inconsistent with taste and garnish. They never collected any empty glasses when they came with new drinks. So our table was cluttered. This is not good when your table is already cramped. When we were ordering the food the server kept trying to pressure us to order more (either two of the same dish or more food). Unfortunately we listened and got two of the mussel with fries. The assembly of this dish was not great. They put a glob of mayo on top of the mussels...then fries under with a TON of not so great broth. The fries get sooooo soggy and dipping it becomes a nightmare when you start eating the mussels. The mussels also weren't that great. It wasn't necessarily fishy but almost tasted old or left out. I would not recommend this dish. The Brussels sprouts were horrendous and EXTREMELY salty. It was drenched in this buffalo tasting vinaigrette. The entire party hated this. As for the chicken, it was alright. The hot sauce wasn't great so I ate it alone. The biscuit was tough and hard to rip apart. It didn't have that flakey texture. The slaw was a miss from just looking at it. My favorite thing out of it all was the Mac and cheese. Not dry, had good amount of salt. Oh, and if you want to order the side of carrots, I'm not sure 2 slices is worth the amount they charge. The menu is also limited compared to what was offered before.

My blood pressure was very low, I vomited at the hospital, and I needed IV fluids to stabilize me. The illness also triggered a painful kidney-stone flare-up. My doctor confirmed that consuming the old calamari caused my illness. This was a frightening medical emergency. I am extremely disappointed that the calamari was reportedly still being served after several customers complained and that management never checked on us. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously, investigates its food-handling procedures, and ensures this does not happen to anyone else.

Attentive, friendly, helpful, and constantly bringing food and checking on us! Our group enjoyed the calamari, crab cakes and carpaccio as appetizers. Everyone ranted and raved about all of those, but WOW those crab cakes were absolutely DIVINE! Even those in our party who normally don't enjoy crab cakes had to partake because the rest of us were so enthralled. We had to order three orders of crab cakes - they were THAT GOOD! Definitely the best I have EVER had and I always order crab cakes when we go out to eat and they are on the menu. For dinner we all had a huge assortment of items. All delicious! Chicken parmigiana, cozze & vongole, mushroom ravioli, salmon, two of us enjoyed filet entrees. We were all very delighted with everything that we ordered! We cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough! Delectable! Perfection! Thank you, Bella Siena, for making our loved one's graduation celebration so PERFECT! Service, food, it was all so spectacular! And...those crab cakes!

I never knew that Flippy's existed until now and I been living in Hercules since 1988. Flippy's Cafe has to be the longest business Rodeo had. I had the hamburger and I don't regret having. A juicy burger compare to D's Giant Burger. I was able to have salad on the side compare to fries which was a good choice. The service I had at Flippy's was fantastic. I was given a great service which I was given time to find out what to order. The inside of Flippy's Cafe is small. The tables are ok which shows sign of ages to prove how long Flippy's has been in business. They do keep the tbales clean and maintain. The parking lot outside Flippy's in small. You can find street parking nearby which is not a long walk. I will try Flippy's Cafe next time I am in Rodeo.
