Instead of a 4-star rating, I would prefer to give this restaurant 4.5 stars. It would have receive 5 stars if finding a parking spot was easier. I had the mochiko chicken bowl ($25.95) and found it very tasty. The chicken was tender and the sauce was excellent. My friend had the top sirloin coulotte and ($31.95) and it was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed the flavors of the steak. The noise level inside the Royal Hawaiian was not bad. We could easily have a conversation at dinner time. The server was fantastic. She was very pleasant to talk to and knowledgeable of the entrees.

Brought my folks to the @royalhawaiianoc since my dad cannot travel due to his injured leg. They loved it so much! They dressed up, took pictures, loved the live music, enjoyed the incredible dishes, and admired the gorgeous tiki decor!! Loved my cocktail !! This is the place to get strong yet delicious Tiki drinks! Ănd you can't go wrong with their food. Some standouts were the poke nachos, the Mahi Mahi, the slab of ribs and ribeye was cooked perfectly Coconut cake was not too sweet and delicious, too!! Lava cake was very sweet if you like sweet. My dad also loved the mochiko chicken and my mom couldn't stop eating that onion blossom as a guilty pleasure. - they have a parking lot valet $12 which made it easy - it's also a short walk down to the water! For beautiful views and photo ops! Loved the live music from guest performer @pilottouhill and make sure to check back if they have events.

We had a party of 3 and went on a busy Saturday night and didn't have a reservation. We waited around 10-15 mins and got a table. The food was so delicious and flavorful! Our server was super sweet and attentive.

This place is always a fun experience for the kids. I'm not really a frequent customer here. I've been maybe three times in a year. I don't expect much fanfare. It's basic Hawaiian food and drinks. Got the Loco Moco with the Mac Salad. The hamburger patty was a bit too salty. The patty itself was tender though. Mac Salad was good. Had a lot of egg yolk mixed in. Pineapple fried rice was good. Kids killed their portions pretty quick. Biggest hit was the fish and chips. The fish was super fresh and tender. The batter was really crispy. Definitely will get this again. I would say the cocktails were a bit too light. Need a little more booze to really enjoy it. We sat in the booth. It was long but narrow. The table filled pretty quick with all the dishes so it was a bit of a struggle to make space and be comfortable. Don't forget to check out the fish tank and take a cute picture at the shell bench.

We ended up here because Truly pizza was all booked. The atmosphere is definitely unique. Very dungeon like and dark. Our server was very nice. The food was good. We got coconut shrimp with a sweet chili sauce to start. The portion for the price was not what I expected. We got 4 small pieces and I believe it was $19. Would not order that again. My shrimp entree again was pretty good. Definitely not anything special that I would return for again. The drinks are very cool but the prices are not. Mostly over $20.

The Royal Hawaiian, wow what else can be said about this tiki restaurant that hasn't been said already? Location itself is a masterpiece, a true little walk to the water or steps away from ocean views (and today we saw dolphins!) The staff are amazing, from front of house to servers everyone is just so patient and nice. They are extremely helpful when it comes to the cocktail menu, because seriously, the tiki drinks are too many to count and all sound delicious! It's a tiki restaurant, so of course we started with a pu pu platter and poke nachos.. YUMMM. The ribs of any size are shareable, burgers and sandwiches are huge! The prices are a little high but honestly you would pay more anywhere else on PCH in Laguna. And save room for desert! The coconut cake is what we will keep coming back for, it's literally perfection and surprisingly light and not super sweet, just right. Parking is expected to be a little tight down here, it is north PCH and it is pretty much bumper to bumper on the street, if you circle around you will definitely find a spot with metered parking. I would pay for a little extra time for a beach walk but it's up to you. Royal Hawaiian is a special place, the Chief Lapu Lapu cocktail here is world famous, or at least it should be! We can't wait for a special date night back, aloha!

Is it a cocktail or dessert? It was amazing! Yes there was rum in it!

I've been to every reincarnation of the Royal Hawaiian and I love this one! The staff and bartenders have always been great to me. The drinks are some of the best in Southern California. It's definitely a Tiki bar and was remodeled to the quality and looks of the 1940's idols like Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic's but the original Royal Hawaiian is almost as old! If you're into great tiki cocktails, tiki history or just keeping a legend alive it's worth the visit to Laguna Beach. There's a free parking lot for them about 100 yards north of the location. It's worth coming early and walking the cliff trail behind it. One of the best sunsets around.

Fun tiki bar vibes with live music and awesome cocktails! Today was my fiancé's last day in Laguna so we decided to go to Royal Hawaiian! When she first moved to Laguna this was one of the first places she went so it was fitting. First off the decor is spot on, they didn't miss a single inch of the place. There was a live band playing some great music. We each got a specialty cocktail in a souvenir glass. I got the Royal Hawaiian which had 2 types of rum, a light and a dark, with some citrusy notes. It was pretty good, decently strong. She got the Dragon's Milk which was soooo good. If you like piña coladas you'll like this drink, it's not the same it's much more coconut flavor and complex but very sweet. For dinner I got the top sirloin culotte with garlic butter veggies and pineapple slaw. It was cooked a perfect medium rare but could've used more seasoning. The sides were perfect. She got the Huli Huli chicken and the same sides. The chicken was cooked nicely and still pretty juicy. It had a good flavor from the citrus lemongrass marinade. I'll have to go back and try some other dishes sometime. The service was great, always someone coming by to fill our waters and take away finished plates. Our server was so nice and helpful choosing some cocktails from their extensive menu. Thanks for a great night Royal Hawaiian!

Have you ever wanted to have your eyebrows blown clean off? Order a Chief Lapu Lapu. This location, beloved and cherished by many, reopened its doors years ago to the chagrin of many a tikifile. It has proven its worth, and then some. The food is very good. The drinks are potent and balanced, as all tiki things should be. The staff are sweethearts. They genuinely care about your experience. Find me a place in nuclear fallout distance of LA that does that. I truly hope this location succeeds and lasts another lifetime. Pricey as it may be, it returns the favor in aloha. 5 stars. Parking beware.

What a cute place we found last Sat. Night! My tuna nachos were fresh and awesome. My family loved their food too, 1 of them being vegan. The buser was extremely attentive (I wish I got his name) he filled waters, observed that we needed the wifi info, got us extra napkins, etc, etc.

Such a beautiful classic Hawaiian restaurant. Walk inside an be transported to a Hawaiian get away. Beautiful drinks and food. The favorite for myself is always the poke nachos. Super fresh, lots of fish, perfect on top of wonton chips. Lots of fun tiki drinks all are made great! Staff is always super friendly and make the experience great.

The Service here is amazing! Omar was great the entire night. I appreciate the entire staff for taking care of our large party for my friends birthday. I would come back for service and drinks alone. The food was okay. I ordered the garlic shrimp noodles, good portion decent flavor. You have the option to add chicken for an extra 6$. Some of the girls opted for that and really enjoyed it. All of the drinks we ordered that I was able to try were really good. The restaurant itself was very cute and perfectly themed.

So the first time I came to the Royal Hawaiian I had an amazing time, as noted is my last review, this time, I have to say we really didn't have that same great time. This time we were with our kids so we had to sit at a table, and this was a VASTLY different experience from the bar. There was only one server handling the entire restoring as far as people actually seated at tables. First off there wasn't enough menus and they kept having to be passed table to table which was quite annoying for the way we like to sip and eat. Next we got mostly ignored the entire time, there wasn't even many people in the restaurant and it took about 50 minutes to get our first drink. The food was good, same as last time really, but the drinks were also not the same at all, I'm not sure what was going on but everything was much more mild on the rum, and the flavors were not the same. The final part came in the form of us leaving, as we left we walked by a christmas specials menu... That wasn't even offered to us the entire time we were there and we would have loved to try it out. :/ I can see myself coming back for the bar only, but im not sure I will come back with the family and the intention of sitting at a table. It's a shame, this is something that has to be fixed, there is not only history in the place, but it is TRULY gorgeous inside.

The price is $20 + $0.51 booking fee per adult (ages 16+) for a one-hour session. [Experience]: Our party checked in at the front counter and hung out in the waiting area. The waiting area sells various pug merchandise and also has a touchscreen pinball machine. There is a unisex restroom available. Once our party stepped into a separate pink & clean room, the staff went over instructions on how to handle the pugs. Visitors are allowed to pick up the pugs but cannot carry them while standing. The staff was friendly and was playing fun & energetic background music during the pug session. Our party didn't stay for the entire hour and left around the 45-minute mark because we had a dinner plan afterward. [Conclusion]: Our party had fun playing with the pugs and took plenty of photos. It was a fun and Instagrammable experience & I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who's visiting the Escondido area.

Eventually things can settle down if you have the right people in your group, and they find a spot to curl up together on the different beds available or on your lap. They give you a couple treats to give the pugs, but those go quick. If you want to give them anymore you'll need to purchase them with a staff member who will offer you some options about halfway through. The group in the hour before me was having a birthday party for a toddler. I thought that was a creative idea. Another person seemed to have brought her own pug to socialize with the other pugs there. They seem like a very social breed and were very friendly. Overall a fun memorable experience for those who like dogs.

The first time was back in May with a friend during a special event that had a costumed character and a pretty long line outside. I also came back recently to try their limited-time Captain Buggy dessert and stopped by about an hour before closing. The atmosphere is easily one of the biggest reasons to come here. The entire inside is decorated to look like the interior of a pirate ship, and the walls are covered with the characters' wanted posters. If you're a One Piece fan, there's a lot to look at and it definitely makes the experience more fun. Service was great both times. During the first visit, there was a long line because of the event, but the staff were still really friendly and helpful despite the crowd. The second time I came in right before closing, and the staff were still welcoming and didn't make us feel rushed. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the food and drinks. The first visit we ordered the matcha horchata, onigiri, katsu sandwich, and fried rice. Everything was better than I expected, especially considering this is more of a themed cafe experience. On my second visit, I got Captain Buggy's Carnival Crunch dessert, which actually tasted better than I was expecting! You'd think the fried PB&J uncrustable covered in fruity pebbles and topped with vanilla ice cream and sprinkles would be overwhelming, but surprisingly the flavors and textures went really well together! I'd honestly get it again. Overall, I really enjoyed both visits. The prices are pretty standard for an LA restaurant, so I didn't have any complaints there. Obviously, the biggest appeal is being a One Piece fan, but even beyond the theme, the food was solid and the staff were great. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of the series, especially when they have special events or limited-time menu items. I'll probably be coming back here next time I'm in the area just to embrace my inner otaku.

My wife and I have been married for 50 years, and throughout our marriage we have had all kinds of pets--dogs, rabbits, and cats. We have always loved and cared for our animals, and they have all lived out their natural life spans. In fact, we currently have a one-year-old cat whom I brought home from a shelter last year. Last week, I visited CatCafe Lounge and immediately fell in love with one of the cats. I wanted to give her a loving home. We own our home, already have a well-cared-for cat, and have a long history of responsible pet ownership. Nevertheless, my adoption application was rejected without any explanation. When I asked why, they would not give me a reason. I can only assume that our age may have worked against us. As you might have guessed, my wife and I are senior citizens. I find it disappointing that our age could be considered a reason to deny us the opportunity to adopt, especially given our long history of loving and caring for animals. CatCafe Lounge is certainly a wonderful place to visit and interact with cats. But if your intention is to adopt, be aware that even with a stable home and a long history of responsible pet ownership, there is no guarantee that your application will be accepted.

It was a wee bit too sweet for me, I should have gotten the mango bevie again but you never know what you'll like of you don't new things right? The event was incredible, I already requested to host to book her again. The venue is really awesome for small group events. I got to meet the manager/owner at the end of the evening and she was delightful!
