I've frequented The Deck for the last three years and was disappointed with my last two visits. Last year when we visited the fish seemed overcooked and the crust was soggy. This year they changed their menu a bit and the quality of the food has gone down. All the fried foods were over cooked. My spouse had fish and chips and the outside was dark and the grease tasted old. My wrap was not bad but definitely not worth $20 for turkey lunch meat, lettuce, cucumber, and tomato. I'm not one to complain about prices as I know it's expensive for restaurants these days. I'm happy to pay for good quality food but this wrap was so basic, cost maybe $5 to make. Thankfully our server Ziggy was friendly. He did a good job at getting to us quickly and refilling drinks. However, not sure we will return. Island Cafe has a larger menu and the food is good.

The Restaurant is a floating dock on the Columbia.

Saturday 4-4:30pm arrival. Food. Better than average, but pub fare: so don't get too excited. Service: Terrible doesn't begin to describe it. Wait staff was short handed, and although personable: 45 min for a bar beverage & 1h 35m for a meal of BBLTA & 2 Fish Tacos. Are you kidding me?!?!? Ambiance: is why you show up, literally on the water. Our view though was interior facing so not ideal.

One of my fan favorite summer spots. The Deck is exactly the kind of basic, fun place you want on a warm Portland day. It's right off Marine Drive and literally floats on the water a relaxed atmosphere , good drinks, casual food, and lots of friendly faces. It gets packed, especially on sunny weekends, but that's part of the energy. The drinks are strong, the seafood is decent (nothing gourmet, but hits the spot), and the view is unbeatable. You'll probably see a few smelly ducks drifting by only adds to the character. Now there is a bit of a downside. The ramp down is steep and a bit of a hike, especially on the way back up. But hey my good excuse for another drink of liquid refreshment.

Had a great lunch here with a friend on a 75 degree sunny day - perfect! The location is perfect, sitting at a picnic table, enjoying the view of the Columbia River inches away, and sunshine - it makes me smile just being there, Food is great, too! Remember, this is a casual cafe. But for a casual place, the turkey reuben was phenomenal! Toasted marbled rye bread, lots of turkey, sauerkraut and Russian dressing all came together into a flavor bomb, so satisfying. Saved half and enjoyed it for lunch the next day. The fries were super crisp. Excellent. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Even though it was lunch, I ordered a cocktail because it was that kind of a day. A refreshing spicy margarita on the rocks, no sal, did the trick. My only complaint, and there is no way to change it, is the ramp walking down is so steep, more so when the river is low. So for people with mobility issues, it's challenging. I made it down and back up no problem, but would hesitate to go there mid summer when the water is a lot lower. Oh, and I bought a long sleeve cotton tshirt. I couldn't resist the light blueish gray color. Love it!

I absolutely love this place. My husband and I have to come at least once every summer. We come for the food and the views. I definitely recommend it. The waiters/waitresses are always super friendly. The food is delicious, which I definitely recommend their calamari and fish tacos. The red velvet cake was not my favorite. It almost tasted like froze and thawed out but other than that everything else was amazing. Oh and let's not forget that it's Dog friendly! To get down to the main area is a bit of a hassle since the ramp is a bit steep. So I definitely recommend wearing sneakers .

Flying into PDX at 9:40 AM, I was craving some good seafood. My girlfriend picked me up, and since we were heading south, we didn't want to stray too far from the airport or I-205. Not many places were open between 10-10:30 AM on a Sunday, but this spot popped up--and we're so glad it did! We loved that it was right on the water, offered seafood options and mimosas. Most restaurants downtown didn't open until 11 or even noon, and we didn't want to wait that long. Our waiter was fantastic--super cheerful, funny, and rocking a great matching outfit. I wish I remembered his name! He was attentive, and our food came out fast. We shared the 4-piece halibut and fries along with the shrimp salad. It was tasty, affordable, and perfect for our appetite. We've been to Salty's nearby for their all-you-can-eat buffet a few times, but their price jump from $69.99 to $90 made it hard to justify--especially since we weren't that hungry. All in all, it was a beautiful Sunday, and I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back to Oregon.

This place was amazing, had a shrimp poboy, and five cheese deck balls that were SO good. I wouldn't say this place is easily accessible because of the super steep ramp you have to go down to get there and back up on your way out. Service was great. It was nice to be on the water having a Girl bestie date night!

Been coming here for years and it's a great time to relax on the water with some good company, food and drinks. It is kind of a hike down onto the dock, and the back up could be a little tough as it's steep. Kind of cool to see all the boats and wish you had one. Their food is pretty good; drinks are great- they even make mocktails. There are two different kind of seatings- one is 'inside' (which is still outside) for larger groups. And the other is outside and it's family seating so you may be sitting with others, but everyone is respectful. The airport is nearby and you see the planes overhead. You can also bring your dogs which was nice to see. The parking is just off marine drive and if you go too fast you will pass the entrance.

Steep ramp to parking lot. Power chair couldn't handle it

Had a great lunch here. All the seating is outside on "the deck". It was a beautiful day right on the water surrounded by sailing yachts. Great atmosphere. Lotta birds come in and land on the tables and the floors around you, but there are signs that say please don't feed they get aggressive. Lol. The food we had was absolutely delicious every bit of it. I had fish and chips that included some of the best tasty fish I've had and quite some time. It was flaky and actually tasted like fish. It came with coleslaw that was also very good. My wife had the shrimp tacos and loved them as well. For appetizer, we had steak bites that were so tender. I was happily surprised when I ate my first one. I was expecting the tough little meat nuggets that I usually get, but these were very tender. Very tasty. Now the bad news. This place is NOT ADA friendly! Navigating out on the deck is navigable. Getting there is not easy. You have to go over many ramps and obstacles to get there. Restrooms are not easy to get to. The worst thing is the ramp was too long and steep that my power chair could not handle the incline and I was stranded. Thankfully two people were able to push me along with my wife to the top. As much as I loved the food I will never return.

Overall a great place to meet friends for a nice atmosphere on the floating restaurant and to take in some sunshine in the outdoor deck. Good menu of local beer, wine and cocktails and a great place for Happy Hour. 4 stars mainly for the happy hour food pricing as menu items could be a better value but aside from that, a good solid choice.

Lunch or dinner on the water!!! The views are gorgeous, the food is decent and the prices are affordable. The service is better than average. Overall The Deck is a was excellent for water front dinning.

That said, the prices are getting pretty high, and I was disappointed with the seafood quality this time. For being this close to the ocean, I expected it to taste noticeably fresher. I've honestly had fresher oysters in Idaho. We also ordered the seafood sampler, so we got to try a good portion of what they had available from the market, and nothing really stood out. The view, service, and drinks are what keep this at 4 stars for me. If you took those away and judged it only on the seafood for the price, I'd probably be closer to 2/5.

The first thing that stood out was the service. There was only one server working the dining room during a busy lunch rush, and you would never have known it. She handled every table with professionalism, confidence, and genuine warmth. She made me feel like I was the only guest in the restaurant, checking on me often without ever making me feel rushed or forgotten. It honestly felt more like being welcomed into someone's home than eating at a restaurant. She deserves a lot of recognition because she absolutely elevated my entire experience. I wish I had gotten her name because she earned every bit of this compliment. For my meal, I ordered king crab legs, snow crab legs, shrimp, and crawfish. I chose to mix all of the seasonings because I thought it would create the biggest flavor. Unfortunately, the food itself was much blander than I expected. The potatoes, corn, shrimp, and especially the king crab legs needed a lot more seasoning. Considering the price of king crab, I was hoping for a much bolder flavor. The snow crab legs were probably the highlight of the seafood. When my server noticed I wasn't completely satisfied, she immediately stepped in to help. She brought me extra garlic butter and additional Old Bay seasoning, and that made a huge difference. She didn't ignore the issue or make excuses--she genuinely wanted me to enjoy my meal, and I really appreciated that. Overall, I'd give the service a perfect 10/10. The food, based on this visit, didn't quite live up to the hype for me, but the menu is huge and there are still plenty of things I'd like to try. Because of how well I was treated, I'll definitely be back and I'll be hoping to get the same server again. Great hospitality can make all the difference, and she absolutely proved that today.

The hosts greeted us with genuine warmth and respect, and that level of service continued throughout the meal. Our waiter, Carson, was fantastic--helpful, polite, attentive without hovering, and always making sure everything at our table was just right. There's a fine line between attentive service and becoming part of the family. Carson walked it perfectly! Then there's the view of the Columbia River. With the sun reflecting off the waterfront, it was peaceful, calming, and good for the soul. It's hard to be in a bad mood with great food in front of you and the Columbia River as your backdrop. And speaking of the food... My son and daughter-in-law ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich, and let me clarify the word prime rib. We're not talking about a few thin slices of beef hiding somewhere inside a bun. These were serious hunks of tender, mouthwatering prime rib, cooked beautifully. This sandwich apparently believes in truth in advertising! I had the Oswego Burger, perfectly prepared and loaded with avocado, bacon, fresh tomato, lettuce, and onion. My wife chose the Chicken Sandwich and loved the fresh bun, perfectly cooked chicken, and fresh toppings. And everybody benefited from those wonderfully crispy fries. We also ventured into the appetizers--and that turned out to be a very good decision. The Almond-Crusted Brie was a first for me. Beautiful presentation, wonderful combination of flavors, and one of those dishes where the first bite makes you stop talking for a second. Wow. What a treat! Then came the Ahi Tuna Nachos. Simply incredible. They looked almost too beautiful to eat...but fortunately, we got over that quickly. Fresh, flavorful, creative, and absolutely delicious. When you combine excellent service, beautiful ambiance, a peaceful waterfront setting, impressive presentation, and food that delivers on the flavor, you have the recipe for an easy five-star review. Oswego Grill earned every one of them. We'll definitely be back. In fact, I have a feeling Oswego Grill just earned itself a permanent spot on our list whenever we're in Vancouver visiting family. Great view. Great people. Great food. And those Ahi Tuna Nachos? I'm already thinking about the next order.
