We tried to get a reservation at the delectable egg closer to Union station, but they had a 35 minute wait. So if you are wanting to try this place out, definitely check out the location on court street cuz we walked right in! I ordered the oat milk latte, the early riser skillet with sourdough toast and we split the gluten free strawberry pancakes. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was cool, too, and could my friend and I hadn't seen eachother for awhile so we were hardly interrupted. Every time we come to Denver we eat at the Delectable Egg. We have tried about every benedict they have (portabella the favorite) and always look forward to coming back. I surprised Dana this by taking her to breakfast even though I was in a hurry. I ordered the Fiesta Skillet and Dana ordered the Denver Omelet (home of the Denver Omelet on their sign). I can say this, the Skillet tasted great, but it had issues. The dish was lukewarm, and it was obvious that the food was pre-cooked and held. I mentioned it to the server and asked for a check and Roberto showed up. We had a great conversation, as Dana and I grew up in the restaurant world. I just shot from the hip and he was genuinely interested in our feedback as he was there for the purpose of getting this store in to shape. When it was all said and done, he cut our bill in half, which we were not asking for, but he insisted so that we would come back and give them another try. We had no intentions of going back but due to his genuine concern for quality we will go back. Long story short, its fast service, precooked product that is quality. The cook we had today clearly did not care about the end product, but I believe that will change. My rating is based on overall visits with today's weighing in strongly. Nice spot for breakfast! They have all the classics and then some. I had the eggs Benedict and it was spot -on. Just the right combo of all ingredients and plenty of Hollandaise. Yum! We were lucky to be staying where we were in downtown Denver, with only a ten minute walk from the hotel! Stay away. Even as a last resort. Once I got seated I waited 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me, then 10 minutes longer to get my coffee. Got my Eggs Benedict and it had a huge piece of eggshell in it and I only noticed because I ate a hard piece of shell on my first bite. They took it back and did offer to pay for it, which was nice. But, when I got the new one back, the poached eggs weren't even cooked. The egg was flat on the benny and the yolk was basically translucent. Stomach is not going to agree with that later. Such a great breakfast spot close to the Brown Palace, Republic Plaza, and TIAA. I had the excellent stuffed French toast which I could barely finish. The coffee comes in very large mugs so no worries about your cup going empty. Good variety of traditional and creative breakfast options. I was here several years ago and had a great experience so I was looking forward to eating here again. Unfortunately I didn't. There is normally a long wait to be seated but I was seated right away. I waited for a server for about 5 minutes before she came by and asked for my order. That was the last time I saw her until she brought me the bill. So the service was not good at all. I ordered the Red Rooster with cheese on the eggs. The bacon was over cooked and the eggs were just OK. I can't recommend the coffee either. Very weak and watery and expensive for badly brewed coffee. There are a lot of restaurants near here so I'll try someplace else next time I'm in town. read more

I will give 2 stars because no one was particularly "rude" but the service did not meet my expectations. I felt everyone in the restaurant was receiving more attention than us. The peanut butter crunch was fine but would have been better hot- you could tell it was not fresh and that made the barely warmed peanut butter a little much. Overall not terrible but not particularly great. My crab cake benedict was pretty good, but it says on the menu it comes with a "chipotle hollandaise." I didn't realize that meant I would get a plastic cup with chipotle sauce and some hollandaise and have to spend a minute mixing it up to combine them myself (per the food runner's instructions of "you might need to give it a stir"). Kind of strange for one of the most expensive entrees on the menu. My potatoes were cold, and thankfully the food runner asked how we were doing in passing, because if she hadn't I don't know when I would have seen my server next to tell her. I told her they were cold and she went to get me some new ones, which I didn't get until I was half way through with my breakfast. They then tried to charge me for an extra side of potatoes, even though I didn't eat the first one, nor did I take them to-go. The most attentive my server acted was when we went up front to pay and I had another server remove the potatoes from my bill, which made her approach us to see what was going on. The only good part was the crab cake benedict after I stirred up my chipotle hollandaise, which is too bad because it's a really cute place. Won't be back here. read more

Great breakfast on 16th Street mall in downtown Denver! I had the California egg Benedict and their special kombucha ginger berry. They also had okay selection of hot tea. The egg benedict was good at $10 on English muffins and had spinach and avocado. I've wanted more avocado and less spinach but it's a good healthy combo. We came here at 8:30 on a Sunday morning because there are not a lot of breakfast options around on a Sunday morning. The menu was pretty impressive - lots of options. I ordered the steak and eggs, and was pretty underwhelmed by what I received. The temperature on the steak was cooked right, but it was severely under seasoned. There is also no sear on the steak so it looked pretty unappetizing as well. The eggs was cooked really well and I enjoyed it. Probably won't be back unless there is no other option. read more

I tried TDE- Downtown for the first time while visiting Denver. The experience was mediocre, but still enjoyable. The customer service could have been better, but again, it wasn't awful. The food I give a 5/10. The waffle and turkey bacon were really good, but I did not enjoy the egg whites or the potatoes at all. My mom and brother had omelettes and enjoyed them, but also despised the potatoes. My brother said not even ketchup could save them. My dad had the 2 egg breakfast as he enjoyed everything with the exception of the biscuit. He said that it was very dry and inedible. However, our waitress was happy to change it out for toast which he really enjoyed. All in all, I would not come back based on my experience but it got the job done as far as getting some food on my stomach to explore the city. I was hoping this place was as it says in the name (Delectable). It turned out to be an average breakfast place. I've ordered California eggs Benedict and Latte and got Cappuccino instead. Well... not that I mind but that's what took one star down here in my review. The other thing that didn't feel customer service oriented was the undertrained staff. At first when I just came I had to wait for the host to get seated (there was no one to meet guests). Then, when the host finally came back, she asked "Just one?". That felt like she almost got upset that I came by myself. It also looked like they need more waiters there. With the help of our server (omg sorry I forgot her name!), she suggested to try the Fiesta Skillet. The pork green chili sauce on the skillet was SO good! The color itself wasn't green but the sauce was super flavorful and went really well with the skillet. I definitely enjoyed it. I went with a bigger group and everyone got something different. We all enjoyed our meals! This location is in downtown so parking can be a little difficult. We ended up parking in a hotel and walking over. I ate here twice during my stay in Denver. The food is good and their coffee is pretty on-point. They handle social distancing pretty well and considering how busy it can get, their service is great. I'd advise to take ahead of call-ahead seating/reservations since it does get busy there and while we lucked out our first visit, we waited about 40 minutes on our second- not a good thing when you're starving in the morning. They do their best to keep everything flowing though, while also being considerate of the patrons already being served. read more

The prices were reasonable and there where many delicious choices. I chose the frittata. It was just okay. Not fluffy at all. If I get a chance to go back I would try something different.
