She has some dental anxiety and was tearful before the appointment, but we had a lot of conversation prior about what was going to happen. She did great during the treatment, and the dentist mentioned he was going to work on another area of her mouth. I said to him, "I didn't tell her you would be working on another area. I should probably mention it to her." Anyone with common sense would understand that your kid trusting you is huge when it comes to things like this. I prepared her for what was going to happen at this appointment, and it took some convincing. The dentist just continued on, preparing the other area. I knew my daughter was wondering what was going on, so I said again, "I should probably mention this to her." He pulled his chair away from her, looked at me stunned, and said, "I can't believe I'm stopping this procedure right now to have this conversation!" I told him, "I think you're misunderstanding. I didn't intend for you to stop the procedure; I just need to tell my daughter what's happening." He argued with me and then went completely silent, staring at the ground. I gave him a few seconds until I asked if he was okay. I was honestly worried. He seemed like he was having a breakdown of some sort, and I felt like it was misdirected at me. He said, "I'm just deciding whether to continue this procedure." He said, "Your daughter was close to a panic attack when I came in here, and I wasn't even going to begin!" He then left the room, not even returning to remove her laughing gas mask. The gas was turned off. Thankfully my duaghter had headphones on so she was pretty oblivious this was happening. The MAs apologized profusely and were both so kind. They said they thought he must've misunderstood. When I saw a letter from the dentist's office in the mail, I assumed it was an apology. I assumed he realized how completely unprofessional and disrespectful he was, but now it's my opinion that this is just normal behavior for him! Beware.

My most recent visit earlier this month was painless and the best dental office experience I've ever had in my life. They're extremely gentle when working inside your mouth. My visit consisted of a deep cleaning, fillings, whitening, and Invisalign fitting. You will find every member of the Ranieu Family Dental team smiling at all times. They are all friendly and very knowledgable, always educating me about how to maintain healthy oral hygiene. Baylie, Jasmine, Lorena, Dr. Ridder, Fernando, Magali and the rest of the team all made sure that I was comfortable and happy throughout my entire appointment. I look forward to having more fabulous spa days at Ranieu Family Dental!

Since we do not have dental insurance, I specifically asked what services would be provided and was told the $305 out-of-pocket fee would include an examination, cleaning, and fluoride treatment, with the appointment lasting about an hour. Before booking, I made a point to confirm that a cleaning would be performed because other dental offices had told me they would not do cleanings on children his age. I was explicitly assured that they would. Unfortunately, that is not what happened. The entire appointment lasted only about 20 minutes. Instead of the cleaning we were promised, the dentist simply brushed my son's teeth and told us to brush multiple times a day, then explained that the yellow discoloration was normal. No actual dental cleaning was performed, and the fluoride treatment was not provided at all. When I questioned the charges and requested a refund for the cleaning and fluoride, I was told they would not refund the cleaning because the dentist had brushed his teeth and provided advice. They charged $110 for what amounted to a brief tooth-brushing and instructions that any parent already knows. That is not the "cleaning" that was described when I scheduled the appointment. They eventually said they would refund the fluoride charge because it was never performed, but only after I spent time on the phone, was hung up on, and had to call back to resolve the issue. The biggest issue is the lack of transparency. Had they accurately explained what services would and would not be provided for a child his age, I could have made an informed decision before spending hundreds of dollars. Instead, the communication was misleading, the charges were excessive for the services received, and the handling of the refund was unnecessarily difficult. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this office. If you're looking, I would suggest considering Willamette Dental instead.

During my recent visit, while I was in the middle of expressing my concerns about my son's treatment plan, Doctor Deluna walked off without fully hearing me out mid sentence. Initially, we agreed to have four of my son's teeth pulled. However, when we returned the next day, a different doctor "Chloe" decided to change the plan and wanted to pull six teeth instead. When I voiced my concerns and refused to agree to the sudden change, the staff became visibly upset and abruptly ended the appointment without any further discussion. To make matters worse, the next day, we received a letter in the mail stating that we needed to find another provider. This was a highly unprofessional way to handle the situation, and it left us feeling dismissed and disrespected. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone, especially for children, as their lack of communication, unprofessional behavior, and disrespect towards patient concerns were deeply unsettling. The moment you voice your opinion the clinic rushes to drop you as a patient.
