The taste of my 12oz sirloin, medium, was okay but definitely NOT the best steak I'd ever had. It WAS very good though. Decent sized mashed potatoes that were good, & over cooked asparagus. Service: Wonderful waitress! Everyone we had was attentive & friendly. No complaints. Ambiance: It's a renovated grain mill done up into a somewhat upscale restaurant. Met a date here on a Monday. The venue is extremely cool. An old feed depot. Some of the old railroad ties and beams are exposed which gives it a rustic look. Plenty of seating. Large bar. Nice drink menu. Food menu includes flatbreads, burgers etc. I had the brisket flatbread. Not impressed. It was soft, had barbecue sauce on it but looked like thousand island drizzled on top. Very little brisket actually on it. Flatbreads should have a crispy crust. My date had the burger. Looked like a couple frozen beef Patties. She didn't eat half of it. Parking limited. If not for the setting and building itself would have given it one star. May try again just to have a few drinks and an appetizer read more

I have to admit, I expected better. The description for what I ordered said a fried chicken breast smothered in homemade country gravy. The chicken, which was an uneven chunk of breast was not all cooked evenly, some parts were dry, some was okay. Having a chicken breast of even thickness would have improved it. Smothered in gravy it was not, it had a little drizzle. Also homemade country gravy usually refers to a milk based gravy which it was just a basic chicken gravy. But the dry part of the chicken needed more gravy period! I have had better, more tender fried chicken breast at Bob Evans. This is not an allergy friendly place and maybe it was a bad day but the service and kitchen was horrible. I told the waitress I had a milk allergy and choose to get the Black Bean burger with nothing in it and a gluten free bun. First round, hamburger came out with a ranch sauce that contained dairy. I asked the waitress and she stated she didn't know if ranch contained dairy. She took it back. Second round, the burger was gone for 5 mins max and came back soggy. The bun was wet, as well. The waitress even indicated my suspicion, the kitchen staff "washed off" the toppings and sent it back out. She took it back. Third round, the burger was remade this time with the ranch dressing in the side. However this time it returned with a regular (not gluten free bun). I choose to eat just the patty. I told the waitress about this, she replied, "well I can take off the $1.00 charge for the bun." She went to discuss this with the "manager" who sat at the bar during our entire visit. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not allergy friendly because the atmosphere is awesome. Had the fillet for the first time, ordered it medium, came out medium well plus, didn't want to send back, so I ate it, probably the chewiest fillet I have ever had, and no flavor, I would think they would at least season it, I had a baked potato as a side, and was shocked that it was a two dollar up charge for that as a side, next time I wanna steak dinner I'll go somewhere else, ate there a few times before but always try different burgers, and most of them were all right, and my grandson had the nachos, and he wasn't pleased with them at all, one good thing about the evening was our waitress was outstanding! As summer is closing down, I am trying to get to visit some of the newer places in the area. Although his old location (formerly a grain elevator now is a bar/restaurant, which has been open just a few weeks. I was curious if it would be ready when so many places are struggling to find good help. Although I will make a few small suggestions, overall, I think the staff is doing a fine job. We arrived early in the lunch hour and were seated right away. my wife overheard the staff talking about lines out the door by the time we were leaving. Reservations seem like an appropriate step if you want to guarantee a spot. Overall, the food was really good (get the ribs which were fork tender and tasty. The place was clean though if you look down he central shaft (covered by plexiglass) you can still see that this was a working elevator for grain storage and transfer. It reminded me of visiting a county museum with so much to see. What Can improve? Though they have an access ramp for reaching the main floor, there are no automatic doors to enter the restaurant or restrooms. Fortunately, my wife was with me to assist me getting my walker. through. Since I ordered the ribs, it would have been nice go have some of those little packets of moistened towelettes. to clean up at the table. So for me, just minor tweaks. And one last suggestion. Look into having more local craft beer on draft to give it a more local feel. So, a good first visit. I would gladly return despite it being an hour from our home. Review #3977 read more

The only reason they didn't get five stars is a lack of consistency. I've been here twice, ordered the same thing both times - The 1906 smashburger. Great burger, good pulled pork. I haven't made up my mind about the slaw yet. The first time, it was perfect. I had tots for a side and they were crispy and salty - perfect. The second time, they were barely cooked, and they forgot the onion straws (honestly, the main reason I chose this burger). If they can get things consistent, it would earn 5 stars. It's an awesome place with great atmosphere! No reservations needed for lunch, even on Saturday, but would definitely recommend reserving a table for supper. read more

This restaurant has a really cool atmosphere, as it's inside an old mill that has all of the original wood and architecture! Parking is very convenient, with plenty of spots out front. They have a lot of seating, so during dinner time there wasn't much of a wait. I ordered the ribs with Mac and cheese and coleslaw. The ribs were extremely tasty, but the sides did lack a bit in flavor. I also gave 3 instead of 5 stars because the service was pretty slow. The restaurant is very open air, so it was also fairly loud. I also ordered the Bloody Mary, which was extremely spicy - so much so that I couldn't drink it. All in all, this restaurant was decent, but there is definitely some room for improvement! read more

Tater kegs are always fun to order, I liked the spicy cheese that came with. I ordered a filet which was cooked perfectly and tasted great!! Side salad was good too. Hubby got a big dinner salad which he liked but it only came with 1 small cup of dressing. (The same cup that came with my side salad!) both drinks were great. We have recently eaten her 3 different times. Each time the food was very good and we have tried different things each time. One thing for sure the appetizer of onion rings is required, if you like onion rings! The chocolate cake was extra good at one visit and 3 of us shared one piece! We've only been there twice so far but the food is really good. The Tater Kegs are a great twist on tater tots and the Fried Pickle Chips were really good. The 5x5 burger was really good. The meat was juicy, cooked perfectly and flavorful. My husband said the ribs and 1906 burger were really good as well. My only complaint is the 2nd time we are there, I think the server forgot about us. We hardly saw her and when she did come by our table, she acted like we weren't there.
