I had a horrible experience with Dr Glashofer for my MOHS surgery. He did not explain anything about my procedure and spoke in a very derogatory manner . The office does not provide you with any aftercare supplies as other MOHS specialists do. Schedules extra visits to drag things out. Very disappointed ! read more

I had a very unsatisfactory all round experience with this group. First when you make an appt I was told by the office after my appt that you must specifically request to see a Derm. I have never made a MD appt and not seen an MD. Never. Furthermore This group shows on its web site 21 Dermatologists on staff. Not 1 was available to see me? However I found out that after my APPT and the prescription was challenged by my insurance company .....that I did not even see a Derm. I saw a Derm assistant. Full price was charged for the visit and the prescription which was very expensive did not work for my issue. I provided all insurance information with the appt costing $210. My secondary was not billed correctly and after medicare I have a $104.58 balance. I was told when I spoke to the billing office that I could either pay or be put into collection. This was a total waste of my time, money and I still have to find another Derm to actually see me and determine what can be done. read more

I called the Dermotology group today to get an appointment for my granddaughter who is coming up from Florida for 10 days. I use the Rivervale, NJ office for my appointments. I told them my story and asked if they could fit her in. I spoke with Ludney J and explained my situation. She listened and said she would get back to me. A little later Lundy called back and was able to schedule an appointment with my Doctor, Mark Abbate in a week. I know this group is extremely booked, but to be able to fit my granddaughter in was unbelievable. I would not normally have done this but my granddaughter is worried about a skin condition. A place that deserves no stars, I made an appointment and came 10 minutes early to check in. I was told the wait was "not long" and I would be "seen right away". I waited for 1 hour in the waiting area with one other person, that came after me and was seen before me. After going into a room, I again asked how long it would be, and was told I am second. I waited for another 30 minutes and just left. This office is a joke. I never got to see the dr and shouldve checked YELP before making the appointment. BEST DERMATOLOGY EVER. I have really bad eczema and suffered from it for years. Dr. Daniel Groisser is very caring and charismatic towards his patients. He is always willing to help in all the ways that he can. My skin flares have decreased so much with little medication assistance and improve bath and body care. The nurse there are also very nice and the wait time is not too long either. 15 min tops! Great place and fast healing solutions, definitely recommend him! read more

Wonderful office and staff. The day after the biopsy they got me in and with great care removed the basal cell carcinoma and stitched me up. Both the dr. and the PA were great, answered my questions and made sure I learned the proper healing steps to take. read more

I give it a 2 because while the surgeon was terrific and you can't even tell I had basal cell surgery, the support and billing staff are abominable! I called about 4 times about discrepancies with my bill until the issue was resolved. Also, I made a 6 month follow up appointment, which they canceled with no explanation. The Dermatology Group has been great. Easy to make appointments, clean and friendly offices and the staff is amazing. But the doctors are more than impressive. Dr. Pradeep saw me in one day and diagnosed my problem and designed a roadmap of how to attack the issues. Dr. Groisser took it to the next step and really made me feel important and calmed my concerns. He is a true professional and has a complete command in his field. Even during the pandemic they were available via telemedicine and coordinated my treatment plan so it could continue without a gap in coverage. read more

Funny, I've experienced better at the same office. I've previously seen Dr. Rothman, who was congenial and normal. This time I saw Dr. Groisser, who was rude and has no bedside manners. The digital check-in device was not working properly, and was unnecessarily annoying. I waited an hour. Dr. Groisser rushed in, pulled my robe open, and spent about 15 seconds looking me up and down. This felt creepy and rude, especially since the problem was on my shoulder. Then he left in a whirl. He sent a $400 prescription and $96 prescription in, both of which I had gotten for $10 a few months ago from Dr. Rothman's prescription at the same practice. Groisser = McDonald's. read more

On October 6/2021 I went for a follow up with Meera Pradeep, by this time my acne was clearing up, no new pimples except the hard ones. On this visit, she did nothing but prescribe the medication. Now I am getting a bill that she did Acne Surgery on my face. Then have the nerve to be calling me for another visit, I pretty much cancelled the appointment and will not be going back. They are a bunch of thieves and during this time where am I supposed to get money from to pay this bill. read more

I've been going to the dermatology group trying to get my scarring alopecia under control. After a few visits it was clear that not one PA or physician I saw had taken the time to really study the issue. When I asked, "Why does my hair keep shedding out?" I was told everything from "You have a lot of hair anyway no one will notice" to "well, if you stop relaxing/braiding/blow drying your hair the shedding would stop." Or the "stop doing what you do to your hair to make it curly" Mind you I don't braid my hair, my hair is naturally curly and I don't have any relaxers or chemicals in my hair To "make it curly". I kept thinking "maybe there is ONE doctor in this practice that could help me?" Nope. Don't waste your time. I tried doctors and PAs none of them had any current clinical knowledge and didn't appear to have any interest in learning how to treat the disorder other than blaming the patient, giving shots and prescribing topicals as directed by the patient. read more

I am writing this review of the West Orange office. I have previously been to the Verona office where I waited up to an hour at times for an appt. Not here! I have received only pleasant experiences with Annie M., a PA at this location. She has treated precancerous spots on my face and back and done annual screenings. There is usually only a short wait time with scheduled appts. and the receptionists and medical assistants are friendly. Never any insurance problems either! I highly recommend Annie, she is quite professional and friendly, more so than some of the other doctors I have previously visited in this dermatology group. read more

Stay Away! Aweful!!! DR. GROISSER DANIEL is a jerk and a scam! I waited for almost two hours to be seen, only to be told that by his assistant that Dr. Groisser was in a rush and couldn't really talk to me. She ended up making all decisions about my skin condition. He barely looked at me since he came into the exam room once, and was gone in less than 30 seconds, I think just for compliance reasons. I was given steroid shot in the affected area, and told to come back after two weeks. Nothing happened to get me better and now am supposed to go back? I swear this is a scam in order to get more visits out of you. In addition, they are incorrectly billing me twice for my co-pay. read more

My appointment was for 1 pm I didn't see the doctor until 2:05 pm so I waited over an hour to see the doctor I waited in the waiting room for 35 min and then another 25 min in the exam room. The check-in tablet was slow but better than filling in paper work by hand. The doctor was rushed and ran right out of the room as soon as he could. He didn't have time to answer my questions about the prescriptions amounts and ordering and looked to be behind in his schedule which impacted his care and demeanor. He was also rude and impatient with the doctor's assistant/aid when she was trying to setup my prescription. I am unsatisfied with the level of service provided by the doctor from a wait and patient care standpoint. read more

Plain terrible !! To sum this up, even though I had an 8 am appt I had an hour wait for a 3 minute with the doctor. Not returning!

My hair started slowly thinning at 37 and rapidly at 39 - not balding, but I noticed it just was not as thick as it had been. A trichologist (non-MD) took one look at my scalp and suggested I see a dermatologist immediately because it appeared I may have scarring alopecia which, untreated, results in permanent hair loss. And, even if it is treated, still leads to permanent hair loss in many women. I was devastated, scared and immediately booked an appoint with Dr. Groisser. After waiting for about 1.5- 2 hours past my appointment time, the PA came in. I told the PA what the trichologist said. She dismissively mutter, "uh-huh", ignored me and starting talking about stress caused hair loss. She examined my scalp and went outside to chat with Dr. Groisser. He came in the examine room, ran his fingers through my hair (no examination of my scalp), told me my hair was just dry, looked at me and said, "I promise you are not going to go bald." You are not losing your hair. Even so, he prescribed a topical steroid for the scalp burn, which I thought was weird for a diagnoses of dry hair, but what did I know? Either way, I was so relieved. I eventually had a scalp biopsy and ...um... I have scarring alopecia. I do not blame the PA. She was perfectly nice and a quality diagnosis (not necessary correct, but achieved on the basis of the facts presented, i.e., an examination of the patient) is the physician's ultimate responsibility. It is disheartening that a non-MD was able to spot this condition immediately and trained medical professionals were not. Notably, I also sent pictures to my old dermatologist in Los Angeles and from the pictures alone, she knew it was scarring alopecia. But, most of all, for a doctor to promise a specific prognosis without personally examining a patient is deplorable. That promise had made accepting the diagnoses of this chronic condition so much harder. I am now working with a different dermatologist. I am lucky to have found the condition before losing a noticeable amount of hair. Update: I have seen two dermatologists - Philip Bruder on the UES and Dr. Andrew Alexis in Midtown and my hair is thicker and 99% at its original volume. Dr. Alexis is a bit more aggressive in his treatment which I like, but Dr. Bruder is more accessible, which is important too. I would recommend starting with Dr. Alexis to formulate a regimen that will work for you and then seeing Dr. Bruder to maintain it. Both are great doctors. read more

TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Dr. Grossier was rude and would not even listen to what I had to say. I told him that his diagnosis maybe wrong because I have been to many dermatologists and he dismissed me. The staff was friendly so I figured the Doctors would be as well. I had to wait 1 1/2 hrs to see this idiot. Then I went to the pharmacy to find out he called in a prescription that was $300! when I made it clear to him that my insurance was not that good. BEATA she took over 3 weeks and finally called me back and after I explained my issue which seemed simple to call ins which she didn't want to be bothered with she also seemed not intellectual enough to know what needed to be done she then told me she didn't have the time cause she was leaving in a few minutes and I was taking to much time. I hate to see this place of business get a bad rap because of mainly one doctor. I want to share my great experience with Robert Nossa, M.D. at Dermatology Group. Apparently by reading so many reviews, good Doctors can be hard to find. I had searched and tried some other doctors to remove skin tags from my face and neck with no good luck. Then I found Nossa, he is worth every dollar you spend at this place. He took off all my skin tags instantly with one visit. He even used a numbing cream so that I would not feel the sting. These ugly things always reoccur, so he takes off about 20 or 30 with every visit. I have gone back to him several times for this and other procedures. No games ever played with this Doctor. You will be able to tell he is truly a trained medical professional. Months later, after several visits, I saw him on TV or the news talking about what I think was his tattoo removal procedure. Did not know he was or even is a star TV doctor because he is so down to earth and sincere about what he does for patients. On the other hand, I do not recommend the other doctors at this office, only him. I say this for many reason I do not have time to write about. Thank you Dr. Nossa for restoring my faith in doctors again! read more

I know doctors' offices can be frustrating places, but I've never been so enraged to feel the need to write a scathing review...until now. I had my appointment with Dr. Rothman on a Saturday. This was my first time there, so I took whichever doctor was available. When I scheduled it, I told then I wanted to have a mole removed, and no one said anything like "this will only be a consultation." So when I get there and see literally about 14 people in front of me, I assumed it was because there was a wait since so many people were having "surgery" (that's what they call it, even for a simple mole removal). Over the HOUR AND A HALF that I waited there, I did see multiple people leave, but I held on... Finally I am let into his office and he sees me. First of all, he is very old and shakes - his hand was shaking the entire time - so I was worried this man was going to operate on me. Silly me! WIthin 30 seconds of seeing me and asking me why I was there, he tells me I need to reschedule with another doctor who will perform the surgery....I was dumbfounded, but I realized that maybe this was the consultation and I would come back for the surgery...fine. (One other thing - the doctor kept coughing directly into his hand and then proceed to touch my bare skin without washing his hands or putting on gloves. It was absolutely repulsive and you would think a DOCTOR would know better....I guess not.) So I go to the receptionist and reschedule for the following Wednesday at 8 PM since I get home from work at 7. I show up on Wednesday, and they tell me I need to reschedule because I was only put in for a 5 minute CONSULTATION WITH THE DOCTOR, AND NOT A SURGERY. I asked them why they couldn't fit me in, and they said they were closing up soon....a completely invalid response, seeing as how the office was still open for another hour and 15 minutes. I literally could not believe my ears. I walked out the door, and never plan on going back.... Everyone in that office is a moron and could not care LESS about the patients. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR DERMATOLOGY NEEDS! read more

No stars for this group but unable to write review unless I hit a star. Received message at 2:46 PM to call the office. I called back at 2:47 PM. I was told person I had to speak to was on the phone. Receptionist took down my name and number and said they would call me back. I waited a half hr with my phone right next to me. I called back again and was told the clinical people left and will not be back till Monday. This was Friday afternoon. I was waiting for lab results on lesions removed. Totally unacceptable. Do not go here. Getting out early on a Friday is more important to staff. Now I have to worry and wait and still waiting for manager to call me back as well. Very bad!!!!! read more

I've known Dr. Groisser for many, many, many years. I was one of his first patients... I was a young teen ...and then... I grew up, I went to college, I had a career for ten years.... and then found I myself back in NJ!.... Acne has always been a problem I have had off and on since grade school (most recently "severe cystic acne".) When I found myself back in NJ there was no doubt that Dr. Groisser was the the doctor that was ONCE AGAIN going to heal my acne. Dr. Groisser has an extremely kind heart & is very understanding. He's an excellent doctor. I can't say enough good things about him. Let my story speak for itself. I left him in '97 and showed back up in '10. He's a great guy and an excellent doctor. read more

I made an appointment to see Dr. Grossier this past Wednesday because I have been dealing with a chronic skin infection. I found him in the yellow pages, and because I was impressed by his credentials (it is my understanding that he graduated from the top of his med school class,) I thought he would be good "fit." My appointment was for 8:30 AM, and I waited in the lobby for over 1.5 hours. It was 10 AM by the time I was escorted to the examination room. The nurse took my background and details and asked if I wanted to wear a hospital gown for the examination. I said that I'd rather wear my own clothes and then 'disrobe' when the doctor entered the room. She said that was completely fine. 10 minutes later, Dr. Grossier came in, and then berated the nurse for "not making sure [the patient] was in a robe." He turned to me and rudely said, "This isn't a bag of chips in a vending machine where you get to choose what you want -- if you're not wearing a hospital gown, I won't see you." Completely unprofessional. He then did the actual examination, which (as other reviewers have noted,) took all of three minutes (literally.) He looked at my chest, looked below, then mumbled something about how I needed to use a more mild soap because it was "just a minor irritation," and left the room. There were no follow-up questions about what (if any) medication I was taking, other treatments I was already using for this skin condition, or when I should make a follow-up appointment to see him. I was shocked. I have been to other doctors (and dermatologists) before, and have never seen anything like this before. I don't know what Dr. Grossier's situation is -- whether he is overworked or if he was just having a bad day (judging by some of the other reviews here, I don't think that's the case.) But if my skin condition does not clear up on its own, I will be going elsewhere for a second opinion. (Not only did Dr. Grossier bill my insurance, but he charged a $50 co-pay, which is simply outrageous considering the level of service.) That being said, I do want to give a shout-out to the rest of his staff -- his nurse and the woman at the front desk, both of whom were courteous and respectful. Kudos to both of them (seriously,) because Dr. Grossier does not seem like the easiest person to work for. read more

Awful experience. Saw Dr. Glashofer last week did nothing but try to do as many unnecessary procedures as he could to make money! He was more of a car salesman than a Dr. He tried to talk me into all kinds of things. Never once telling me these procedures are not covered under insurance. At the end, he had the nerve to take a business card out of his pocket. I really felt like I was buying a car than visiting a Dr. Total waste of time. I come to the Dermatology Group Nutley office often as I'm treated for psoriasis but I can honestly say Dr Groisser along with his PA Mimi are phenomenal. Along with the Doctors being great his front staff are just as good, down to earth, make you laugh and are kind. Dr. Groisser went above and beyond his day to day job as I dealt with the scare of my life. He was professional, caring, kind hearted and made me feel as if he was treating one of his loved ones. I have had psyroasis my whole life and i will have for the rest of my life. No big deal, all i need is tube of cream for it. I went to this doctor and got the cream I needed. However, they wouldn't call for a refill of my prescription unless i came in and paid for another visit again. Unfortunately I am on a different insurance plan which this doctor isn't in this network. So since I didn't come in and pay for another visit I couldnt get the cream and my psoriasis came back pretty bad. I've never had a problem with getting a refill like this and i do not recommend going here for multiple reasons such as this. They also billed me for several visits when i was not there. It's easy to say "we didnt know" and look the other way but its wrong. It's very obvious that money is what matters most here and not your health. Do not go here! read more

I've been going to Dr. Groisser since I was a college student - when I first dealt with adult acne. I never had skin problems as a teen and then suddenly, i had pimples everywhere. It was horrible and embarrassing - specially at 22. Anyway, went to Dr. Dr. Groisser and he prescribed topical and oral medicine that - while it did help A LOT, did not wipe out my acne. So, he prescribed Ocutane. In weeks, my skin was clearer than it had ever been. Recently, I started getting little pimples on my jawline and giving my history, I went straight to Dr. Grossier before it got worse (Nothing wrong with being a little vain). Yes, he's not the friendliest person - I would say he's more introverted than actually rude, but he's a damn good doctor! ***Maybe he's not the best option for an emotional teenager who needs reassurance, but for an adult who doesn't need their held and is looking for competence and not a lollipop treat, he's amazing*** I took a star off because wait time can be a little stressful. But then again, I wouldn't compromise efficacy. read more

I went to the Dermatology Group office in Verona for my 7:35 appointment and I was seen about an hour later. The PA looked at my face quickly and gave me a prescription which they said would be ready in my pharmacy in a hour. I called my pharmacy 6 hours later to see if it was ready and they said they never received it. I called THe Dermatology Group three more times! The first time they told me they will get it right in and the other two times they said someone will call me back and they never did. I will NOT be returning! read more

I'd read some negative reviews prior to scheduling but didn't think it would be so bad. 2 fking hours wait time!!!, then some more in the chair until i came out and told the assistant i was out of time. These azzholes waste hours of your time and have the nerve to charge you $50 for missed appointments???!!!!! They should pay their customers $50/30 minutes of wasted time. How do you gullible sheep tolerate such conduct???!!! Have you been to other dermatology places? My average wait time at other locations is 15-20 min and doctors never rush, answer all my questions and explain if asked to do so. I won't be back to this shythole. If you value medical knowledge more than how social the Doctor is then this Doctor is for you. Not only is he extremely quick but he is very thorough. Like seriously with all these people saying that he is "too quick" or socially awkward. Well people don't go to medical school to become socialites. If you want a social Doctor that doesn't know what he/she is doing then go see someone else. You can't tell if someone is a good Doctor or not without being a Doctor yourself. Please think twice before going to this Doctor. I can deal with his social awkwardness however it is his abrubtness and rudness as well as his inability to speak clearly and explain the conditions at hand and the proceedures before they take place that bother me. He is quick to cut rather than explain all of my options. I felt very awkward in the exam room with him even though there was another female nurse in the room. His full body check for moles was so unbelieveably quick that I know for a fact he did not even catch half of the moles on my body (including the ones on my feet). It could be just me however I felt there was something very inappropriate to his bedside manner- as though there were sexual undertones. This Doctor cared more about rushing into the next room to see more patients than to actually make sure I felt good about my condistion/visit. Please do not hold my review against the entire office staff as everyone else in the office, including his nurses, seemed very friendly and approachable. If it weren't for them, I think this guy would have been out of business long long ago. read more
