I had to try this place after saw you get cinnamon roll as a side cause I love my sweets. On Devine St little ways up the hill from 5 Points Columbia SC. This restaurant is very close to 5 points and roads can be closed off for city events as it was for me Saturday morning, check traffic before leaving. The exterior building can be missed if you don't have exact address. It is a small building at back of a driveway. There is a To Go & Order counter, I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches don't recall the names (on receipt). The pic doesn't do it justice was loaded with generous portion and a cinnamon roll for $7.89 per. This side idea is so original this business is bound to soar, gotta check it out when in town.

I was only in town for one night so I scoped out where to eat before skipping town. We got a late checkout and headed to The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli. I was aware of the hype/lines and was hoping that going a little later would help us avoid that. It turned out I was right because there was still a line but it moved pretty quick and we easily grabbed a table to settle in for brunch. We wanted to try a little bit of everything so we kinda did. We may have gone a little overboard, but we took stuff home and were happy to have it later. Here's what we got... Strawberry Cheesecake cinnamon roll - the sweet to our savory! This thing really was divine as well as massive. It was great having a couple bites of something else and then indulging in the gooey cinnamon roll. While I'd love to try the other flavors it would be tough to skip out on this one. Green Eggs & Ham breakfast sandwich - If Dr. Seuss was talking about pesto on the eggs then I think Sam I Am would have chowed down because this sandwich was excellent. Lowcountry Shrimp & Grits - looks like a small portion but it's packed in there and just as good as some of the best shrimp and grit plates I've had in Charleston. Tomato Basil soup - very good flavor and extra hearty and thick. It could be a meal on its own. Sides - we didn't realize that all the things came with mini cinnamon rolls so we had a bunch of those and the pita chips to take home too. Being that it was our first time, we definitely over indulged, but it was well worth it. Since our visit, I've probably sent 5 people there singing their praises and I can't wait to go back myself.

Who does cinnamon rolls right? Hands down, there is no equal--The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli! The dough in the rolls are rich and baked to perfection. So many gooey and delicious toppings; we always go with the bourbon caramel. Satisfied customers and friendly service are icing on the roll. But wait! You crave savory? An extensive menu of breakfast sandwiches and grits bowls! I get the feeling that the deli folks would try to accommodate any special request. The deli is In a humble building with a rustic ambiance and a limited parking lot, but trust me, I could eat breakfast here every week all year; it's that good! Bravo deli!

The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli is an institution and for good reason. The food is solid. The staff are great. The place is super chill and welcoming. I had the Farmhouse Breakfast sandwich and it was solid. The eggs and the breakfast sausage were a tad under seasoned and the bagel lacked a little something that I just couldn't figure out. The sandwich definitely hit the spot after my morning run and as you can tell by the cheese pull, it was great! Also, I got a mini cinnamon roll with my order. Not sure if that's the norm or not but it was GREAT! Parking is a situation so be mindful that you might have to walk a bit but it's worth it!

Another great trip to cinnamon roll deli. My family was in town visiting my sister in Columbia and we stopped by for breakfast. This has been a must have breakfast stop (even with the lines) every time we visit. We tried the seasonal pumpkin caramel cinnamon roll and it was so moist and flavorful. Also ordered the Big Max sandwich on everything bagel and that was incredible as well. Their sandwiches all come with a cinnamon roll on the side, so you can enjoy sweet along with your savory sandwich.

The Cinnamon Roll Deli was pretty good! I'm glad that I got there early, because by the time I left, there was a line around the corner! I guess that's a pretty solid testament to how good the restaurant is. My cinnamon rolls were excellent - they were soft, gooey, warm, and delicious! My coffee and everything bagel were alright, but left a little bit to be desired. Also, the staff was extremely nice and friendly, and I loved the overall vibe of the restaurant. It seems like the perfect place to grab a warm and sweet breakfast while supporting a local business!

Cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. For starters, the parking lot is super small. Just keep that in mind. Anyway, I never have to wait in line for too long. There is a MASSIVE menu. I normally stick to the Low Country Grits bowl and one of their gourmet rolls. The grits are always super flavorful. The cinnamon rolls on the other hand, are superb. I've had the banana foster, apple cobbler, and bacon maple rolls. Thus far, the maple bacon roll has been my consistent go to.

This place is great. Came on 2 different occasions and both times were amazing. Great breakfast and lunch menu and of course their cinnamon rolls are great. Here's a tip, if you order a breakfast, you will get a basic cinnamon roll with your order. Everyone is nice and helpful

The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli was super busy on a Sunday morning! They appeared to have many regulars and the staff knew several of the patrons by name. The interior had lots of mismatched art on the walls and some seating. They also had an outdoor seating area in the front, covered by a tent. I ordered the The Buffalo Turkey Sandwich and a Banana Foster Cinnamon Roll to-go, and service was impressively quick. I didn't realize that my sandwich already came with a mini Cinnamon Roll, so I ended up with two. The Buffalo Turkey Sandwich was decent, but incredibly messy to eat. I chose my eggs "over easy" and they were super runny, especially combined with the buffalo sauce. The sourdough didn't really taste like sourdough either, but it was hard to tell since it quickly became soggy. I did enjoy the generous amount of turkey though, and the sandwich was quite filling! Both Cinnamon Rolls were very tasty. The Banana Foster Roll was especially decadent and I didn't come close to finishing it. Overall though, a cute spot - would return to try more items!

We've been here 3 or 4 times now. My husband lives the grits, protein & scrambled egg bowls, I tried it once and thought it was just okay, but I grew up in shrimp & grits and southern breakfast food, so I think it's just not my thing. The cinnamon rolls were decent; don't tell- but I prefer Cinnabon because the icing isn't as sweet- and they're warm & gooey. This last time I had the breakfast sandwich: the sourdough bread was cheap with no flavor or chew, and the pesto basil spread was in a mayonnaise base. Pesto doesn't have mayo in it folks. I'll pass.

Service is amazing, they greet you as you enter the place and give you a seat if you choose to sit inside. The ambience is really cute, a lot of pictures which show how famous the place really is. Now the food is absolutely amazing, I got the big pig on everything bagel and I cannot wait to go back. I also got an apple crumble cinnamon roll and it was so warm and amazing it really was a treat!

Downright amazing food. I knew that the sandwiches come with a mini cinnamon roll but that didn't stop me from ordering the maple bacon roll. I will definitely be back My only caution is that it does get pretty hot inside during the summer so make sure you dress accordingly

Devine is the name of the street, but the intended implication is clear. When I arrived there was indeed a significant line despite it not being the greatest weather. I was offered the chance to skip the line and get takeout, which I took and which was reasonably quick. While there were a variety of options, this was not a place that offered a ton of vegetarian-friendly or healthy breakfast food. That's not why you come. So I just got a cinnamon roll with bourbon caramel sauce. The flavor was as indulgent as one might hope, and it was quite large so I ate part of it immediately while the caramel was still hot and part of it at the national park to the south. I don't always eat cinnamon rolls for breakfast, but I couldn't imagine them delivering a whole lot more on the premise.

Best breakfast spot in Columbia, SC. I've gotten the New Yorker and subs there on multiple occasions, and my girlfriend and I love the whole menu. Not a bad choice on the menu as far as we can find. The breakfast sandwiches on their own are good enough to recommend the place on its own. Add in you get a cinnamon bun with every order, and it's pure heaven. Pictured is one of their specialty rolls we ordered to celebrate graduation. As we move out of Columbia, no joke the thing we'll miss most about the city is having such a wonderful restaurant close by. read more

Devine is the perfect word to describe the food ! Both my husband and I ordered the Big Joe and neither of us we're disappointed- especially surprised with the scrumptious cinnamon roll ! My favorite place to get breakfast. My best friend and I have yet to have anything off the menu that we don't like. my favorite is anything with pimento cheese on it or their peach cobbler cinnamon roll. This place is the best!!!!! I came to USC for a long weekend to visit friends and found this place on yelp as well as heard my friends saying it was an awesome place to grab a bite. I made my own sandwich and can't even tell you what was on it because I think anything you get at this place will be spot on! The prices are just as incredible are their food is and their sandwiches come with a cinnamon roll!!!!! I highly recommended going to this place if you're nearby as well as placing your order over the phone since there's usually a long wait. read more

In love with this hole in the wall!!! Amazing cinnamon rolls. So many flavors and they are all amazing. My favorite is the coconut one so far. I love their customer service. Wow! What a great spot for breakfast. Was in town for a day and stopped here due to recommendation. Pros: fantastic yummy breakfast foods- especially the cinnamon rolls and grit dishes! Nice music and friendly staff in a clean and inviting restaurant. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quantity and quality of food. The sandwiches are phenomenal. Don't get me started on the cinnamon rolls. Those are absolutely delicious! Military-friendly establishment and clearly takes care of their customers. They are hidden in the cut but the food should be known by EVERYONE! This is easily one of my favorite eateries in Columbia, SC. I always go there for breakfast when my unit doesn't have me racing everywhere. Great establishment, by default great management. In fact, I'll probably be there tomorrow morning just for the cinnamon rolls and coffee. After you read this review, make it a mandatory visit and thank me later. read more

If you made me choose, I'd pick savory over sweet every day when it comes to breakfast. That being said, I am always down for tasty pancakes or a cinnamon roll. At The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli, you don't have to choose which is undoubtedly the best way to start your day. I've heard tales of the lines that loop around the cafe; however, on this particular rainy day, we didn't have to wait. I ordered The Big Max which is essentially a fancy bacon, egg and cheese with mustard. It comes with a small cinnamon roll on the side but I had to try a big one! I couldn't resist the bourbon caramel flavor and let me tell you, it was everything I hoped for and MORE. It was drenched in gooey sauce and lathered with icing... I'm still dreaming about it! Couple all of that with some coffee and I'm good to go. Unfortunately, they don't have espresso but do have a variety of brewed coffees to choose from. I get the hype and would definitely be in trouble if I lived nearby! read more

For a quick and decently priced breakfast this was a great spot. Very quaint so if you want to sit down get there early but the service is fast and the food is good. Also tried the shrimp and grits didn't get a picture but they were good was skeptical on the old bay seasoning but it actually tasted pretty good and not overpowering to the dish. read more

Hidden gem, great place to have lunch & a cinnamon roll. Love the delicious Columbia Dog served hot on fresh/Toasted bun with homemade chilli topped with crunchy slaw all served with: housemade chips seasoned with Italian herbs topped with parmesan romano cheese & a gooey mini cinnamon roll. Staff is courteous and owner is very personable as she greets her customers in the dining room, she even brought us a larger cinnamon roll to go! Highly recommend. Our family is spending the weekend in Columbia SC. Wherever we go our daughter looks up the best cinnamon buns in town. Today we went to Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli. I don't even know where to start to tell you how much our kids, grandkids and family enjoyed this place. 1. The inside is so clean and inviting. 2. The staff was extra friendly and the service was really fast. I was honored to meet one of the owners on the way out and she was so nice. She gave me a free cinnamon bun! When my daughter found out that I met the owner, she had to go back in and tell her how great the food was....NOW we get to the best part... 3. THE FOOD!!! The grit bowls were fantastic and so were the breakfast sandwiches BUT...THE CINNAMON ROLLS WERE BEST WE EVER ATE, and there are so many varieties. We rarely go to the same place two days in a row when traveling but you can bet, Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli tomorrow morning. read more

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!! I love this place! Everything on the menu is good. My favs are the grits bowls and the godmother sandwich!!! The service is great, if you don't plan to eat in, ordering via call or online runs just as smooth. I go here at least twice a month or more if I want. I get the same experience each time!! I've tried The Boss with the pita chips and the smoked sausage breakfast sandwich, both on Italian bread. The Boss is my favorite and go to. The meat is seasoned and delicious and the sandwich is filling. The pita chips with the parmesan is so good. The breakfast sandwich is just okay. I love that the meal comes with a small cinnamon roll. So good! The regular cinnamon roll with the nuts and the sauce is so delicious. Everyone is always nice. read more

This place is slightly tucked away on a little hill with a small sign indicating you're there. Keep your eyes peeled, it's possible to miss it. We came on Father's Day after a long morning at the zoo so I stayed in the car with my sleeping children, while my husband went inside. It took quite a while for him to get his food as one of my kids woke up in that time, but he did say it was very busy inside. He also mentioned to me that it's a very 'hipster' place. Everywhere you looked a teenage girl was taking a selfie, I'm just kidding .. or am I? He finally comes back to the car and has two enormous cinnamon rolls. And when I say enormous, I mean ENORMOUS. Easily shared between two people, maybe even three. My husband got me the bourbon caramel and he the apple cobbler. Since we did to-go, the topping were on the side. I'm not sure how they're given in store, but I liked that I could control how much of the topping I wanted. I can say that they're better eaten immediately and not warmed up in the microwave later. Not bad, but not as good. He loved the apple cobbler, but the bourbon caramel was just okay. I wish he had got the black pepper bacon maple, but maybe we can share that next time we're visiting. So if you're military, they give you a free drink as their discount. We don't usually drink soda, so my husband was kinda excited. He also ordered The Aunt Patty Melt. Sublime.... Came to town for homecoming with my girlfriend and found this spot for breakfast. Absolutely delicious food, friendly helpful staff, wonderful coffee!!! I had the farmhouse breakfast sandwich and the grits of the day (pimento cheese). Let me say those grits were not just delicious but piping hot! As was the coffee. Despite the long waits on weekends, I really adore this place. Let's begin at the obvious: the cinnamon roles are indeed divine (see what I did there?!) They aren't cloyingly sweet, nor are they dry - even after an entire day. They are simply perfect. I've yet to try a specialty one, but have had a regular sized one in addition to the ones that come with breakfast. The breakfast sandwiches are also good. I'm a vegetarian, so I usually just get the Garden Eggs one on sourdough. As a NY'er, I'm afraid to try the bagel cause I don't won't to be disappointed (no offense Devine). I also usually choose the loaded grits of the day, if the day's option is to my liking (it has been- usually its the pimento cheese). I do intend to stop in one weekday afternoon for lunch. I know Columbia isn't overly vegetarian friendly, but I do wish Devine had a vegetarian/vegan hot dog as an option. It'd probably go over well with the college-age crowd that supports this place hard. I've yet to find anywhere in this city where that's an option. Calling ahead is the thing to do on their busiest days. You can even purchase their coffee grounds. Their coffee is so good! Their jumbo cinnamon rolls are definitely shareable and the staff is friendly. Even when it is busy, street parking is fairly easy to find. read more

absolutely fantastic! I had the original cinnamon roll with pecans, which was one of the best rolls I have ever had. I also ordered the big pig breakfast sandwich which was fresh off the skillet and was a large portion for the price. I will definitely be returning. I would also recommend planning parking before you arrive because the lot is small. read more

Right now they're pick up only because of remodeling, but that didn't stop the food from being insanely delicious, reasonably priced, and unique. My only complaint is that their website wasn't working to order so you had to call even though the sign outside said to go to the website to order. Let me start by saying I have been wanting to try this place FOREVER! We went here for lunch so we had to get our food to go. I ordered the Groucho Steak and an extra cinnamon roll. Each meal comes with pita chips and a mini cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was amazing to say the least. It was so soft and was still warm when I ate it about 30 mins later. The sandwich wasn't bad, something was missing. I probably should've added mayo. I did like that the bread was soft and the bread to meat/topping ratio was nice. I had the chance to taste my coworker's Banana Foster cinnamon roll and it was VERY GOOD! I will be back to to try the other cinnamon rolls flavors! Before today, I had never had the pleasure of trying this place, and my understanding is that they are still carry out only. Our office ordered for lunch and oh my, was it delicious! First off, they are closed on Mondays, but still allowed us to place a catering order. Five star customer service. Second, the food was amazing. I had the USC and also tried the pita chips. My absolute favorite breakfast joint, without a doubt. They bagels are soft and squishy with such flavor! The grill them before making the sandwiches and serving them which adds an additional layer of flavor. My personal favorite is the Big Max but you really can't go wrong with any of them. They serve them with a mini cinnamon roll. The cinnamon rolls are really sweet, so I prefer the bagels but if you're looking to curb your sweet tooth then make sure to try one of their rolls! Somewhat grossly, the tablecloth on the table I was seated at was covered with coffee stains from previous guests, which was kind of unsettling. I then asked for a cup of coffee, and was told that there wasn't any ready, and that I would need to wait a few minutes. Again, not a huge deal, but I would expect a breakfast restaurant to have some coffee ready by the time that they open. Second, when perusing the menu, I was not particularly impressed by their "limited breakfast" options, nor anything on their regular menu. I decided to go with a simple hot dog, and substituted the offered sides with an order of French fries, which ridiculously cost me almost $4 extra. In addition, my hot dog was fine, but nothing exceptional, and definitely not better than one I could've gotten at Costco for a markedly cheaper price. The one (1) bright spot was that the fries were very good, and of higher quality than most other fries I've gotten at similar restaurants. Finally, my server was nice enough, but a little rough around the edges and not overly attentive. In addition, the ambiance was pretty basic, with nothing about it that really stuck out. All-in-all, I wouldn't be adverse to returning to DiPratos on a Saturday or Sunday to try their breakfast menu, but I won't be coming back during the week, and wouldn't really recommend that anybody else do so either.

As a longterm associate at the CRD, I have known the owners for a significant amount of time. In that time, I've known them to go above and beyond to ensure that not only their customers but also their staff is well-fed, healthy, and happy. They make it very clear that this establishment has no room for nonsense, including racism (as claimed in another review). The staff serves all food with the same love, no matter size, gender, or race. As a stand-alone business during COVID, we are very grateful for all the customers who understand how troubling these times can be for anyone in the restaurant business, and we further appreciate those who cooperate with the way our business has to operate to ensure the health and safety of our customers and staff during busy times. Been coming here nearly every Sunday for a year, and there's a reason why I keep coming back. The ever-present Jody and her friendly staff are always warm, receptive and attentive - even when the place is packed! Me and my lady usually get the Big Max on an Everything Bagel with a side of pimento cheese grits. It never disappoints. The cinnamon roll coffee is another favorite of mine, and we love that the meals come with a mini cinnamon roll! It's a popular place, so it's understandable that will be busy. We're night people so we usually roll in around 1:30pm and still get wonderful service. A plus, sometimes they even send us packing with a few more cinnamon rolls to-go as they are closing up. Anytime I have friends in town for the weekend, I always recommend we go to Cinnamon Roll Deli for Sunday Bunday! Will be back again soon. read more

Oh no I can't rate 10 stars?! Let me start off by saying what a breath taking dining room this is, great color scheme and not to mention all of this beautiful artwork! You can really see the time and dedication put into the layout of this restaurant. I am a regular here, and I cannot get enough of their hand rolled cinnamon rolls! The toppings to choose from are out of this world, my favorite has got to be the wild berrys, and topping it all off with graham cracker crumbles, delicious! The hotdogs are crazy addicting, and the homemade cheese blend atop of their signature devine chips are the perfect complement to any hotdog or sandwich! I really do not know where to begin when talking about how awesome the food and service are. Every time I walk in I am greeted with a smile and you can tell they are genuinely excited to have you visit with them. I have to usually get my food to go but they are always very quick to get my food out, but make sure it is right the first time! The Big Max is my go to sandwich and it is delicious! It doesn't hurt that it comes with an incredible cinnamon roll for desert. I have made this my routine breakfast spot now and the only thing that could make it better would be being open on Mondays to start my week off right! read more

Thought we would see what the hype is all about come to found out they are closed Sign says Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday closed But doors all locked up on a Thursday @noon looked like a cute little stop to grab some brunch but I'll never know now seems unlikely this business will thrive as they are not open to public as much as needed lots of revenue being sent to other businesses so if this is your intent good job for making room for the other many business. Arguably one of the best breakfast spots in the country. I go to CRD at least 4 times a week. Their prices are fair and their food is amazing. Their employees are extremely friendly and helpful and their manager, Ms. Jodi, is one of the most caring and thoughtful people you could dream of meeting. You can expect a line if you go choose to arrive at a popular time for breakfast, however I can assure you, the wait is worth it! This place is amazing. Definitely Columbia's best kept secret thats not so secret. The sandwiches are so amazing and the chips that come with it..... SUPERB. The breakfast sandwiches make your whole morning. Its so clean and it gives off a fresh kind of look. local artwork hang on the wall which I LOVE! Leaving the driveway is a little tricky. It's a very steep slope and my car easily scrapes pavement. If you don't have a tall car, parking on the street is probably best. read more

This was my first time there and it was absolutely delicious. I got the Italian Godfather, which is an Italian sandwich with ham, salami, turkey, provolone, onions and tomato. The bread was delicious-not too hard or too soft. It came with chips and a Cinnamon roll. We also had a mimosa and iced coffee. I got all of that for less than $20. Definitely worth the money. Be prepared to possibly scavenge for a park and a seat. It's not full service but still great service . read more

We were visiting Columbia for the first time arriving June 13th till the 16th. We found this gem on Thursday and had the most amazing cinnamon roll ever! At a VERY affordable price, it is the perfect Sunday brunch get away for college students and a perfect family brunch place for after Church. I met up with someone I matched with on Bumble BFF and it was such a great place to meet up. We had cinnamon rolls, which are to die for, and some coffee! This place is delicious! While it can get a little busy at times and take a minute to order once you do the food comes out quickly and is always hot, correct and delicious. Definitely get the crd sauce on the side for your chips and add one of the delicious toppings to your cinnamon roll! It can't be beat. read more

Great breakfast spot. First time I went the food network was there, so that's always a big W. I haven't been in a year or so, but my ex and I would go all the time. For two of us to eat and get coffee it was like 10 bucks. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing and include a cinnamon roll on the side. read more

I absolutely love this place. They are always accommodating when it comes to my celiac disease. I have tried most of their sandwiches and they work great with options like corn tortillas or lettuce wraps. The staff and atmosphere is fantastic. Definitely recommend this place to everyone. read more
