This place is the best!!!!! I came to USC for a long weekend to visit friends and found this place on yelp as well as heard my friends saying it was an awesome place to grab a bite. I made my own sandwich and can't even tell you what was on it because I think anything you get at this place will be spot on! The prices are just as incredible are their food is and their sandwiches come with a cinnamon roll!!!!! I highly recommended going to this place if you're nearby as well as placing your order over the phone since there's usually a long wait. read more

My favorite place to get breakfast. My best friend and I have yet to have anything off the menu that we don't like. my favorite is anything with pimento cheese on it or their peach cobbler cinnamon roll. Everyone is always welcoming and as nice as they can be. Definitely a must to stop by when you're in Columbia. read more

Wow! What a great spot for breakfast. Was in town for a day and stopped here due to recommendation. Pros: fantastic yummy breakfast foods- especially the cinnamon rolls and grit dishes! Nice music and friendly staff in a clean and inviting restaurant. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quantity and quality of food. The sandwiches are phenomenal. Don't get me started on the cinnamon rolls. Those are absolutely delicious! Military-friendly establishment and clearly takes care of their customers. They are hidden in the cut but the food should be known by EVERYONE! This is easily one of my favorite eateries in Columbia, SC. I always go there for breakfast when my unit doesn't have me racing everywhere. Great establishment, by default great management. In fact, I'll probably be there tomorrow morning just for the cinnamon rolls and coffee. After you read this review, make it a mandatory visit and thank me later. read more

You must try this place! We stop here every time we are in town. We had the Palmetto Breakfast Sandwich and Low Country Shrimp and Grits. Both were absolutely delicious! And the cinnamon rolls are unbelievable! My mouth is still watering. The homemade wild berry jam was excellent. And the owner was super personable and working hard as were all the team members. If you made me choose, I'd pick savory over sweet every day when it comes to breakfast. That being said, I am always down for tasty pancakes or a cinnamon roll. At The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli, you don't have to choose which is undoubtedly the best way to start your day. I've heard tales of the lines that loop around the cafe; however, on this particular rainy day, we didn't have to wait. I ordered The Big Max which is essentially a fancy bacon, egg and cheese with mustard. It comes with a small cinnamon roll on the side but I had to try a big one! I couldn't resist the bourbon caramel flavor and let me tell you, it was everything I hoped for and MORE. It was drenched in gooey sauce and lathered with icing... I'm still dreaming about it! Couple all of that with some coffee and I'm good to go. Unfortunately, they don't have espresso but do have a variety of brewed coffees to choose from. I get the hype and would definitely be in trouble if I lived nearby! read more

In love with this hole in the wall!!! Amazing cinnamon rolls. So many flavors and they are all amazing. My favorite is the coconut one so far. I love their customer service. For a quick and decently priced breakfast this was a great spot. Very quaint so if you want to sit down get there early but the service is fast and the food is good. Also tried the shrimp and grits didn't get a picture but they were good was skeptical on the old bay seasoning but it actually tasted pretty good and not overpowering to the dish. read more

Hidden gem, great place to have lunch & a cinnamon roll. I've tried The Boss with the pita chips and the smoked sausage breakfast sandwich, both on Italian bread. The Boss is my favorite and go to. The meat is seasoned and delicious and the sandwich is filling. The pita chips with the parmesan is so good. The breakfast sandwich is just okay. I love that the meal comes with a small cinnamon roll. So good! The regular cinnamon roll with the nuts and the sauce is so delicious. Everyone is always nice. read more

Our family is spending the weekend in Columbia SC. Wherever we go our daughter looks up the best cinnamon buns in town. Today we went to Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli. I don't even know where to start to tell you how much our kids, grandkids and family enjoyed this place. 1. The inside is so clean and inviting. 2. The staff was extra friendly and the service was really fast. I was honored to meet one of the owners on the way out and she was so nice. She gave me a free cinnamon bun! When my daughter found out that I met the owner, she had to go back in and tell her how great the food was....NOW we get to the best part... 3. THE FOOD!!! The grit bowls were fantastic and so were the breakfast sandwiches BUT...THE CINNAMON ROLLS WERE BEST WE EVER ATE, and there are so many varieties. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!! I love this place! Everything on the menu is good. My favs are the grits bowls and the godmother sandwich!!! The service is great, if you don't plan to eat in, ordering via call or online runs just as smooth. I go here at least twice a month or more if I want. I get the same experience each time!! This place is slightly tucked away on a little hill with a small sign indicating you're there. Keep your eyes peeled, it's possible to miss it. We came on Father's Day after a long morning at the zoo so I stayed in the car with my sleeping children, while my husband went inside. It took quite a while for him to get his food as one of my kids woke up in that time, but he did say it was very busy inside. He also mentioned to me that it's a very 'hipster' place. Everywhere you looked a teenage girl was taking a selfie, I'm just kidding .. or am I? He finally comes back to the car and has two enormous cinnamon rolls. And when I say enormous, I mean ENORMOUS. Easily shared between two people, maybe even three. My husband got me the bourbon caramel and he the apple cobbler. Since we did to-go, the topping were on the side. I'm not sure how they're given in store, but I liked that I could control how much of the topping I wanted. I can say that they're better eaten immediately and not warmed up in the microwave later. Not bad, but not as good. He loved the apple cobbler, but the bourbon caramel was just okay. I wish he had got the black pepper bacon maple, but maybe we can share that next time we're visiting. So if you're military, they give you a free drink as their discount. We don't usually drink soda, so my husband was kinda excited. He also ordered The Aunt Patty Melt. Now, I don't like roast beef, but it was really good. We chose the garlic spread as well, and it was pretty good, but for some reason, slightly sweet. It also came with what looked like parmesan dusted pita chips, and that was such a fun twist instead of regular chips or fries. We'd make another pit stop out here before heading home after our next zoo adventure. read more

Despite the long waits on weekends, I really adore this place. Let's begin at the obvious: the cinnamon roles are indeed divine (see what I did there?!) They aren't cloyingly sweet, nor are they dry - even after an entire day. They are simply perfect. I've yet to try a specialty one, but have had a regular sized one in addition to the ones that come with breakfast. The breakfast sandwiches are also good. I'm a vegetarian, so I usually just get the Garden Eggs one on sourdough. As a NY'er, I'm afraid to try the bagel cause I don't won't to be disappointed (no offense Devine). I also usually choose the loaded grits of the day, if the day's option is to my liking (it has been- usually its the pimento cheese). I do intend to stop in one weekday afternoon for lunch. I know Columbia isn't overly vegetarian friendly, but I do wish Devine had a vegetarian/vegan hot dog as an option. It'd probably go over well with the college-age crowd that supports this place hard. I've yet to find anywhere in this city where that's an option. That all said, Devine is on our small list of b'fast spots in Columbia. You made it! read more

Calling ahead is the thing to do on their busiest days. You can even purchase their coffee grounds. Their coffee is so good! Their jumbo cinnamon rolls are definitely shareable and the staff is friendly. Even when it is busy, street parking is fairly easy to find. read more

Right now they're pick up only because of remodeling, but that didn't stop the food from being insanely delicious, reasonably priced, and unique. My only complaint is that their website wasn't working to order so you had to call even though the sign outside said to go to the website to order. Sublime.... Came to town for homecoming with my girlfriend and found this spot for breakfast. Absolutely delicious food, friendly helpful staff, wonderful coffee!!! I had the farmhouse breakfast sandwich and the grits of the day (pimento cheese). Let me say those grits were not just delicious but piping hot! As was the coffee. Let me start by saying I have been wanting to try this place FOREVER! We went here for lunch so we had to get our food to go. I ordered the Groucho Steak and an extra cinnamon roll. Each meal comes with pita chips and a mini cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was amazing to say the least. It was so soft and was still warm when I ate it about 30 mins later. The sandwich wasn't bad, something was missing. I probably should've added mayo. I did like that the bread was soft and the bread to meat/topping ratio was nice. I had the chance to taste my coworker's Banana Foster cinnamon roll and it was VERY GOOD! I will be back to to try the other cinnamon rolls flavors! Before today, I had never had the pleasure of trying this place, and my understanding is that they are still carry out only. Our office ordered for lunch and oh my, was it delicious! First off, they are closed on Mondays, but still allowed us to place a catering order. Five star customer service. Second, the food was amazing. I had the USC and also tried the pita chips. Then of course, we had the cinnamon rolls. I see now where the name comes from-- they are nothing other than divine. Hubby and I will definitely be trying breakfast in the near future. My absolute favorite breakfast joint, without a doubt. They bagels are soft and squishy with such flavor! The grill them before making the sandwiches and serving them which adds an additional layer of flavor. My personal favorite is the Big Max but you really can't go wrong with any of them. They serve them with a mini cinnamon roll. The cinnamon rolls are really sweet, so I prefer the bagels but if you're looking to curb your sweet tooth then make sure to try one of their rolls! Coffee is pretty tasty too! I'm thinking about making a trip for one of these sandwiches again soon, because writing this review is making me hungry for more. read more

As a longterm associate at the CRD, I have known the owners for a significant amount of time. In that time, I've known them to go above and beyond to ensure that not only their customers but also their staff is well-fed, healthy, and happy. They make it very clear that this establishment has no room for nonsense, including racism (as claimed in another review). The staff serves all food with the same love, no matter size, gender, or race. As a stand-alone business during COVID, we are very grateful for all the customers who understand how troubling these times can be for anyone in the restaurant business, and we further appreciate those who cooperate with the way our business has to operate to ensure the health and safety of our customers and staff during busy times. We know the lines are long and the phones are busy, but we guarantee customer satisfaction. Been coming here nearly every Sunday for a year, and there's a reason why I keep coming back. The ever-present Jody and her friendly staff are always warm, receptive and attentive - even when the place is packed! Me and my lady usually get the Big Max on an Everything Bagel with a side of pimento cheese grits. It never disappoints. The cinnamon roll coffee is another favorite of mine, and we love that the meals come with a mini cinnamon roll! It's a popular place, so it's understandable that will be busy. We're night people so we usually roll in around 1:30pm and still get wonderful service. A plus, sometimes they even send us packing with a few more cinnamon rolls to-go as they are closing up. Anytime I have friends in town for the weekend, I always recommend we go to Cinnamon Roll Deli for Sunday Bunday! Will be back again soon. read more

Oh no I can't rate 10 stars?! Let me start off by saying what a breath taking dining room this is, great color scheme and not to mention all of this beautiful artwork! You can really see the time and dedication put into the layout of this restaurant. I am a regular here, and I cannot get enough of their hand rolled cinnamon rolls! The toppings to choose from are out of this world, my favorite has got to be the wild berrys, and topping it all off with graham cracker crumbles, delicious! The hotdogs are crazy addicting, and the homemade cheese blend atop of their signature devine chips are the perfect complement to any hotdog or sandwich! I really do not know where to begin when talking about how awesome the food and service are. Every time I walk in I am greeted with a smile and you can tell they are genuinely excited to have you visit with them. I have to usually get my food to go but they are always very quick to get my food out, but make sure it is right the first time! The Big Max is my go to sandwich and it is delicious! It doesn't hurt that it comes with an incredible cinnamon roll for desert. I have made this my routine breakfast spot now and the only thing that could make it better would be being open on Mondays to start my week off right! read more

Arguably one of the best breakfast spots in the country. I go to CRD at least 4 times a week. Their prices are fair and their food is amazing. Their employees are extremely friendly and helpful and their manager, Ms. Jodi, is one of the most caring and thoughtful people you could dream of meeting. You can expect a line if you go choose to arrive at a popular time for breakfast, however I can assure you, the wait is worth it! This place is amazing. Definitely Columbia's best kept secret thats not so secret. The sandwiches are so amazing and the chips that come with it..... SUPERB. The breakfast sandwiches make your whole morning. Its so clean and it gives off a fresh kind of look. local artwork hang on the wall which I LOVE! Leaving the driveway is a little tricky. This was my first time there and it was absolutely delicious. I got the Italian Godfather, which is an Italian sandwich with ham, salami, turkey, provolone, onions and tomato. The bread was delicious-not too hard or too soft. It came with chips and a Cinnamon roll. We also had a mimosa and iced coffee. I got all of that for less than $20. Definitely worth the money.
