Yes it is worth the wait. Best Huevos rancheros ever and I have had a ton. Great pancake, loved the waitress suggestion of 1/2 huevos and a single pancake. Satisfied both carvings. Good classic diner. We got there, and there was a line at the door. We noticed a spot at the counter, and after checking with the parties ahead of us, we opted for that. This gave us a birds eye view of the goings on behind the counter. Service was prompt. Like 10 seconds after we sat down, they wanted to take our order. But we asked them for a minute, and looked at the menu. Pancakes were good, omelettes were good. Fried eggs were fried eggs. Bacon was....well....deep fried. No, really, they cook their bacon in the fryer. Which causes your oil to break down faster, and is bad to cook fries and more in (Can burn quicker) but that is their headache. Prices were good. Enjoyed breakfast there this morning! It's got the diner feel. Wait staff was outstanding and my coffee was never empty! Kiddo had the strawberry pancakes and inhaled them. Husband and I had omelettes. Husband was watching the guy cooking and said he literally could not cook any faster- multiple orders going on the grill, and still apologetic for the "wait" which really wasn't that bad, especially on Mother's day at 10am. Really, really enjoyed the biscuits. Gravy was just ok. The home fries are well seasoned. Would have been good with some fruit preserves. Because of the size of the place, it's a tight fit. You have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. We weren't able to fit a party of 6 at a single table (booths fit 4 adults without much room to spare). If you are looking for some genuinely traditional breakfast food, this is the place to go. Bacon, eggs, sausage, yum. There is just something nastalgic about walking into a place like this. Black coffee with creamer, nothing fancy but gives you the kick you need. The only downfall I can really see is there not being a wait list to check in ahead of time to know the wait time like other restaurants in the area. The diner is just what the name says. A traditional style diner. I have only been for breakfast, but it is a very hearty breakfast. The Kitchen Sink omelette is awesome. They have the good crispy style hash browns. During COVID they are not doing dine in, which for me is a let down. A classic mom and pop dinner with a hipster decor twist. Came her for breakfast and the staff were very friendly. They speak to you like you've lived in the neighborhood right around the block. Very small accommodation and space for babies are limited to two high chairs. Breakfast was great, a lot of pancakes, and a great price. A must if you are near Norman Oklahoma or a drunk OU student. Didn't give it a 5 star because I have been here once and 5 stars must be really impressive for a one time visit. read more

I know this place came highly touted and I have enjoyed my previous visits. I did enjoy this one as well but something was missing. Great local diner for breakfast or lunch. It's situated in a narrow store front along downtown Main Street. Take the first parking spot you see. Inside the restaurant, you will find four person booths lining one side of the restaurant while a counter & barstools line the opposite side facing the cooking station, grill & griddle. The cooks stay busy constantly cooking hash browns, potatoes & pancakes. Lots of egg dishes on the menu small by with burgers & sandwiches at lunch. We had the Egaritto with sausage & the Mexi Scram with sausage. The hash browns & fried potatoes that came with the meals were good. Staff was friendly & efficient. The turnover seemed faster than most diners. We never felt rushed but I think everyone just knows to eat & get moving so someone else can get seated & dine. We will be back but probably not on an OU game weekend. It would be a safe bet that there would be a substantial waiting line for this diner. read more

These blueberry pancakes are the real deal and the sheriff of local breakfasts in these parts. I've heard their lunches are solid, but to be honest I'd never NOT order the fabulous flapjacks. Coffee is nice and dark and pairs well. Seating is limited, which can be frustrating. I love hole-in-the-wall joints and this is one of them. This place is indeed a diner, style to match. It's a one aisle pathway with booths on one side, bar stools on the other. Not ideal for big parties but perfect if you have 4 or less. It's in downtown Norman, so you can enjoy the little stores and scenery while you wait. On the weekend it's usually packed, so be prepared. They have a grill behind the bar which is nice to see the fry cooks doing their thing. The menu has traditional breakfast like Chicken fried steak and eggs to things a little more unique like brisket & tamales. Service is good and fast. The food never disappoints. Wife wanted to try this place since she seen it on Diners, Drive-ins, Dives. She is from New Mexico and loves her chile so this was her choice. Wife had big breakfast burrito with green chile and hash browns. Green Chile sauce was okay, burrito hardly had any egg it and was mostly a veggie burrito. I had the Frito Chili pie and the chili was good. Overall doubt we would return. read more

Great service, everyone knows you (or will act like they do) and you won't leave hungry. Great comfort food and now they are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday Evenings as well. Went to The Diner with a friend for breakfast. It's conveniently located in downtown Norman, and, like most of the other businesses in downtown Norman in the mornings, was packed. We ended up waiting about 10 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. Now when I say it was packed, I'm talking *everyone* was invading everyone else's personal bubble while trying to scramble in or out of the building. It's a very small restaurant, just narrow and long with not too many tables. The service was "meh," but the poor woman seemed to be taking care of half the tables in the restaurant. I ordered an omelette with a side of bacon. It was REALLY good. I'm not usually one to be thrilled about omelettes, but it was perfectly cooked, didn't have a mountain of cheese inside, and had plenty of veggies to make me happy. Also, the bacon was thick. Like. Really thick. *drools* Overall, I'm not sure I'd go back simply because of the crowds and how small it was.
