Good food but over priced. You also have to share a table with other people, which is a little weird.

Loved the view, the vintage decor and the food....the service, however, is a much different story. We were greeted by Reina-well not actually greeted. We were rudely treated and she sure didn't care that it was our first time there. She came to the table and didn't say hi, welcome...what first came out of her mouth was "do you know what you want?" We ordered, she brought it. Was told a biscuit and gravy was missing and she said "I'll tell them". Someone else brought the biscuit and gravy and also the condiments we asked for. We didn't see Reina again until she came over and tossed the ticket on the table and said "pay me when you're ready". She didn't stick around long enough for us to even say we would like drink refills, which 3 of the 4 of us were totally empty. I was embarrassed for taking our guests there. We will NOT go back.

The buffet was a selection of soft biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes with hot syrup, fried potatoes and baked apples. They also had an assortment of cereal, yogurt and granola. The view is spectacular. Just through the trees and off of a green grass landing is the lake. There is a bench to sit on, if you so desire. The lodge is self is run down. Could tolerate someone to spruce up the place a bit with a coat of paint, cleaning out the flowerbeds and maybe removing the vegetation from the tennis court. You can tell this place was five at one time.

We went for dinner and got the lunch menu as they are one and the same. Had a buffet option of…read morefrozen fried foods, stuffed peppers that could have been mistaken for meatballs drowning in tomato sauce. String beans were swimming in bacon fat with fatty chunks. Another option was the soup and salad bar. White bean soup was like wallpaper paste. Broccoli soup was just as pasty but green. Neither had any flavor. Salad bar had bare minimals. Soup bowls were either a tiny butter dish or a ramekin. When I asked for a soup bowl the waitress pointed to my 2 choices. We shared a club sandwich which was ok. Went for breakfast the next day because the nearest town is 20 minutes away. Breakfast buffet was poor so we ordered off the menu. My traditional breakfast was fair. Ham steak was the highlight of my meal. Never got the potatoes that came with my plate. Also a first for me. Got the heal or end of the bread. Whole place is closed next year for major renovations. Should have closed sooner. Dining room overlooks the lake. Too bad the outside desk wasn't open.

Seafood night is just okay, but we wouldn't come back for it. Typical salad bar, dessert table with rotating pie/cake/ banana pudding (hot) & Vanilla soft serve machine. The staff is friendly. The best person is their head chef, Jack! What an awesome guy! Willing to go the extra mile for you and always has a smile on his face! Great balcony view and lots of seating inside.

We got there a bit early so that we could wander around the shops. They do have moonshine tasting, which was fun. I liked hearing about Calvin and Mr. Bill. I could easily see how people could spend a whole day here: For dinner, we were in a room with butterflies and flowers. When you looked around, it's almost as if you didn't know where to focus your attention. I ordered a drink and the burger ($2 upcharge after 4pm). The burger was ok but the fries were delicious. Our server, Jordan, kept our table laughing every time he came by. Worth checking out if in the area but definitely check out the menu before so you don't get sticker shock on some of the prices.

Food was good, but not enough for the cost. My bill for one was $68 for one alcoholic beverage, a soda, the app for the table, a sandwich and chips, and a piece of pie. Kitschy as hell, which I enjoy. Lots of shops to wander while you wait. Looks like Alice in Wonderland threw up. The staff is the best part. Our server, Jordan, was personable and funny and didn't let any extra costs go by without notifying us. I appreciate that. Everyone was great, and willingly wearing uniforms that seemed uncomfortable at best. But it's part of the theme. Standouts: flower pot bread and strawberry butter, moonshine tastings, and sawdust pie. Go once just to experience it if you're nearby.

It's a fairly small restaurant but they have booths and tables available. Smells like fries food inside and it's not fancy at all. They didn't do much to convert it from the gas station and many of what looks like old features of the gas station are still in the main area. Just about everything they offer is deep fried. We are on vacation and just picked a local place not knowing anything about it. We were a little surprised when we pulled up because it doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside. The staff was very kind and did a great job serving us. The food was good for what it was but I think it is a little overpriced. The double cheeseburger in the picture was $5.60 and the onion rings were $1.90. My Diet Coke was an additional $1.19. For almost $9, I would expect more than deep fried food and there weren't many onion rings for $2. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience but it is t really anything to rave about. There isn't much else around here so I'm sure this is a local favorite. If I lived here- I might come again but being in vacation, I would try other things before coming here again.
