HORRIBLE experience Ambiance is inviting and hip and that was the best and only part I'd recommend. Ordered drink, app and entree right away at the bar. App came out relatively quickly for a Friday night. Finished my app and I'm waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting and waited some more. The people across from me got their food and ate their whole meal and I'm still waiting. Bartender brings me a second app and I looked at him and said, "I'm waiting on my food, i finished my app a while ago". He leaves and comes back and says he never saw my app come out and never put my food in. I'm starving and so asked for the check because I was starving. I told him I'd take the food of it was coming out in two minutes but couldn't wait very long. He tells me it WON'T be coming out that fast and it's friday night and it'll be a while. He says he took the entree off like he was doing me a favor. PHe hands me the check and I had the card out and he walked away without taking it and disappears for a while. He finally came back and ran my card so I could leave. The app was mediocre. Normal bar food. Nothing special. Not sure what all the hype is! I had called to see how long the wait was if I came in to wait for a table and they said more than three hours! Won't be back! read more

Stopped here for lunch with a coworker on a Thursday afternoon. We sat outside at the bar and the service was great. Both bartenders were very friendly and attentive. The location is great, right off I-75 in Sarasota and close to all the shops. There's plenty of parking which made it super easy. Wow - what a great place! The atmosphere is beautiful - open, airy, & inviting! The menu prices are very reasonable for the area. We sat at the bar to take advantage of the HH. Wine & beer were $3 off & all the apps & pizza's are half off! We shared the caesar salad - this is not your ordinary salad, it was amped up with a tasty parm crumb on top, tasty dressing, & fresno's! So good! We were then given a complimentary corn nacho app which was real good! I enjoyed a well-done mushroom pizza & my husband had the fried chicken sandwich with skinny crispy fries. Stopped in for lunch today and learned this is a brand new location and the first outside of Ohio. The staff was huge with folks from locations in Ohio down here helping with the opening. The service was over the top great. We sat at the bar outside, which was a great ambiance and we talked to no less than 5 different employees. Wife ordered the Nashville hot shrimp & grits appetizer as a meal (it's big enough and makes a great lunch). I ordered the Creole Grouper which was great. It has perfectly cooked sweet potato, rice, crunchy cabbage, kale, and a zesty lobster cream sauce. I will definitely have it again. A great addition to UTC but I'd recommend you get reservations for dinner and the happy hour from 3-6 looks great, with half price apps and drink discounts. Tonight we tried the street corn nachos and they were really good! I had a burger and fries and it was really good! We've tried the chicken sausage pizza which I would say is one of my new favorites! Review - Kitchen Social Sarasota My sister and I visited Kitchen Social Sarasota and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. We put our name in for a table for two. While waiting, we were asked if we would be willing to sit at a round table with four other guests. We politely declined. We were then asked to come look at the same table anyway, and after seeing it, we again declined as we were hoping for a private table. We had just lost our father the day before and simply wanted a quiet place to sit together, talk, and decompress. We were not in the mindset to share a table or engage socially with others, which we tried to convey politely. After continuing to wait, we were then shown to an outdoor area that was very windy and cold, which didn't feel comfortable or appropriate given the circumstances. At that point, we decided to leave. I understand restaurants can be busy and trying to accommodate guests efficiently, but a bit more sensitivity and flexibility would have gone a long way. This was a difficult day for us, and we were just looking for a quiet, comfortable space to be together. read more

Great first visit for 3 of us last Sunday for brunch. Delicious food, excellent waitress, etc. Loved it. A week later, 6 of us l, all adults, arrived for brunch without a reservation at 11am. Restaurant was less than half full. Host and hostess explained they had too many reservations and had to seat us "outside" which, at 11AM, was in the direct sun in Sarasota which was already 85 degrees. Then, host separated us into two tables, and said they couldn't seat us together, couldn't push tables together, couldn't accommodate a large party like ours, and had no other options. Granted, they said they had a lot of reservations, but the host also said "our kitchen has chefs and they can't accommodate this many guests. So, I was confused--they couldn't give us a table for 6, or they couldn't make us food? Weird. Then, he (the host) says, "if you want bunch, you can go to Blu Kozina," which is a new Mediterranean restaurant nearby we haven't tried, and weren't hoping to try today. Idk if that's a sister restaurant or what, but sort of wild to suggest instead of returning later or trying to accommodate a party of 6 in literally any other way, including asking us to wait, for a table, which we would've, he suggested we eat elsewhere. I promise we were not rude. We don't make a fuss. We just looked at them and saw the tables they were putting menus on and said "I'm so sorry, we'll just go." At the host stand, as we're leaving, the host says, "next time call for a reservation, we don't do them online, just call," and then he says, "yeah, we just have way too many reservations today and our chefs can only make so many dishes," so we left. Spent $300 at Cheesecake Factory instead. So, heads up, apparently kitchen has sincere issues with making enough food to meet demand? Or something? And a party of 6 is unable to be seated together on a weekend at 11am without a reservation. Make sure you call for a reservation. read more

After a bit of a rocky start with our reservation and some miscommunication between the hostess and our group, things quickly turned around thanks to Justin. He stepped in, handled everything professionally, and made sure our entire group was well taken care of. Our waiter, Noah, went above and beyond--double-checking every detail, making sure our orders were correct, and keeping everything running smoothly. The food came out perfectly and was absolutely delicious. Huge thank you to Justin for turning the experience around and making sure everything was amazing. Honestly was super excited to try this place, everything we ordered tasted cold. Nothing really honestly tasted good. Super disappointing

I'll start with the 5 star items. Ambiance, Service and Food were all excellent. Our server was very helpful in describing the entrees and helping us gauge the spiciness of each dish. We ordered the Chicken Katsu and Braised Short Rib Tacos which were both prepared with just the right amount of seasoning/spices. The Banana Caramel Cake was delicious. All food came out expediently and warm. Staff is also very attentive and checks on your multiple times during the meal. The couple items that dropped my rating to 4 stars. While the open air feel of the restaurant was cool, they may want to reconsider leaving their huge sliding doors open during "love bug" season. We has "indoor seats" but spent a good part of our dinner swatting the pesky little deviants away from our table. I would like to see them improve their beer menu as it is mundane. South Florida has some of the best craft breweries in the country and some of the local brewery offerings should be on the bar menu. All that said, we will be back to try a couple other entrees that were of interest. read more

We all had a spritzer of some kind. All were very good. A complimentary cheese biscuit appetizer was served. I had the Tuna Bowl (a little too spiced for my taste,but good). My husband had a crispy Chicken salad, my friend to my right split his meal with his wife, fried Cod with French fries. Omg the meal was gigunda. Went the first time i had Szechwan it was poor my husband had pizza so dry and nothing on it terrible tried a second time wanted to order gluten free carbonara which is listed on their web site. Server informed me they don't have that dish even though it was listed on their website so I ordered the chicken Thai they came out cold. The manager took it back came up, brought me a hot one and informed me that the dish was supposed to be served medium warm. It doesn't say that on the menu and the dish wasn't medium warm it was cold and it was a big disappointment. The chicken was maybe a half ounce of chicken in the whole dish. The server was OK. He didn't really care if I had water to drink or if I like the dish, I will not be coming back to this place and I'm being generous with a two star. My husband and I both loved everything about this place! The vibe, the aesthetic, the food, the ambiance, all of it. And the staff was excellent, from the hostess to the wait staff, the managers, right down to the food runners. All were well-trained, friendly, and eager to please. Even the high top tables and chairs were the most comfortable we had ever sat at, and I don't like high tops at all. The tuna bowl was beautiful and very flavorful. The crispy chicken salad was excellent. The dressing was delicious, there were 4 very nice sized pieces of chicken, and it all went together deliciously. The Korean bbq cauliflower was also great. The sauce was a nice mix of slightly sweet and a little spicy. We will definitely go back! And we were very happy to learn from one of the owners that they are bringing one of their restaurants to Indianapolis and its northeast suburb, Fishers! Darling our server was friendly and rushed our appetizers out because she could see our party was starving. The Nashville Shrimp and Cheddar grits, Thai cauliflower, crispy shrimp and roast corn nachos hit the spot and were shareable for our party. The fish & chips was light and crispy and the Thai Chicken noodle bowl and Sezuan Noodles were amazing. Blueberry lemon pies was a great way to finish off a great meal.
