Bowl of French Onion soup. Exquisite.

This is the spot to go for a delicious decadent meal with an attention to detail and service that is elevated without being uptight. The restaurant is located on the floor of a small hotel. Parking can be tricky but available. Tables vary from family style to banquettes and high tops. There is a full bar with ample seating. Florida casual attire, after all you're on an island. I started with the French Onion Soup and my husband had the escargot. Both were excellent. For dinner, I truly enjoyed the Chateaubriand which is served atop of a carrot purée and their own potato au gratin made with Bleu cheese. These unique potatoes are pie cut and blend perfectly with the meat. It's a symphony for your tastebuds. Dessert was the owner, Buddy, mom's Ricotta Cheesecake. Homemade, Yes! Decadent, Smooth and Delicious, Oh my Yes! Want more, Definitely Yes! This restaurant is a hidden treasure. Yes, it is priced at a higher rate than most restaurants in the area, but the quality and service is also at a higher standard unlike any in our area. A wonderful combination of relaxed, unpretentious and fine dining. Where friends can gather, families can make memories and love stories are built. We need them back in Sarasota. Make the reservation, take the drive to the island, to escape your reality for a couple of hours of the best meat and seafood dishes in a unique restaurant. Guarantee you will leave as part of the family.

**The Chateau on Anna Maria: Where Tony Makes You Family Look, I need to tell you about this place. Because when you walk into The Chateau on Anna Maria, something happens. Tony and his team don't just serve you--no, no, no--they *adopt* you. It's like showing up to a restaurant and accidentally joining someone's family reunion, except the food is actually good and nobody's asking when you're getting married. The drinks are so on point, I'm convinced there's a mathematician behind the bar. Shout outs to Danny and Athena. My go to is an espresso martini with bourbon. Yes, bourbon. I know what you're thinking--"But that's not how--" Stop. Just stop. This is one of those beautiful moments where someone breaks the rules and creates magic. It's like jazz, but you can drink it. Now, the chicken Francese--*outstanding*. The short rib? Also outstanding. You could literally close your eyes, point anywhere on the menu like you're playing pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, and you're walking away a winner. Every. Single. Time. The attention to detail here is the kind that makes you wonder if Tony's been taking notes on your life. Everything is *just right*. Not in a stuffy way--in that warm, "we actually care that you're having a good time" way. Bottom line: Go to The Chateau. Let Tony and the crew make you part of the family. Order that bourbon espresso martini. Thank me later. Five stars. No notes. Perfect.

If you're looking for a quiet dinner in a nice restaurant, avoid this place. We went on a Friday evening, the bar was full, and it was LOUD inside. The noise level was above 70 decibels which is like heavy traffic at rush hour. The tables were small and pushed close together. We had to lean across the table to have any conversation and hearing the waitress was a real challenge. My duck confit ($38) wasn't what I expected. Instead of a duck leg with tender meat and crisp skin, I got pieces of duck meat in a rich sauce. It was tasty but not a traditional duck confit. The grilled pork loin ($34) was done just right. Chardonnay @ $11 a glass was fine. A beet side salad was $8 and tasted very good. Service from Sara M was prompt and courteous. Overall it was good but not great because of the noise, the table spacing and the disappointing duck confit. I doubt if we'll ever eat there again.

Valentine's Dinner at The Chateau was perfect! We chose the earliest reservation (4:15pm - because, well, we're oldish!) The prix fixe menu was delightful and had a lot of great choices. We had the chateaubriand (surprise, it came with a lobster tail !) Very delish and the perfect temperature. We also had the Bronzino which was also delicious (but watch out for those fish bones!) The dessert choices were great and we chose the Chocolate Eruption cake and the cheesecake - both were delish! Shoutout to our server who took such good care of us (totally forgot her name and if I remember it, I'll update my post but we did take a picture with her).*update, our server was Sara M. **. I appreciate her making my early birthday and our engagement celebration a little special! Also, shoutout to the Staff at the front check in area for scrounging up a sewing kit for me because my dress strap was about 2 seconds from breaking!

Delish meal, and beautiful ambiance. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and busy season. We had excellent service! Parking is so so.. We parked behind the restaurant and had a note on our vehicle *luckily it wasn't stuck on the car or I would have been really disappointed! Over all pleased with our experience! Recommend for a classy dining experience if that is what you are looking for.

Been wanting to come here for sometime for French food since that is hard to find in Florida but it was not what I expected because they don't really have much of a French menu. It's just a mix match of all different types of cuisine. They have pizza menu now which is not online nor French style, it's more Italian. Their hours online are mixed up from what it actually is in the restaurant - says dinner starts at 4:30p but it's actually 5p. Le Premier menu has 3 different times only, 3-5, 4-5 and 4-6p so that's all mixed up. Went for Happy hour. Got the burger but as soon as I touched the bun it was quite cold and the cheese was not melted on to the burger well. Asked for medium-well and got a little less of medium. They were out of one of the ingredients, the tomato marmalade, for the burger. I still ate it since I liked the garlic aioli and red onion jam but it is not good enough to come back for. The bartender was fine. Restaurant is inside the Marriot hotel. Ambiance is rustic French style. No hotel parking available but next to it was a big lot for the marina which we were told was okay to park in.

We grabbed reservations for the outdoor area to enjoy the weather and were thankful for the shady tree cover. This time we opted for some bites and though the menus change seasonally, I would recommend anything featuring tomatoes. They use truly fantastic heirloom tomatoes that remind you what you're missing with the watery ones we get at the grocery store. Also recommend the Mediterranean Platter. It's full of veggies and the dips are YUM. As usual, the cocktails didn't disappoint. It's never a weekend in AMI without a visit here! Previous Review: 5 Stars for the best cocktails on AMI, and a craft cocktail bar vibe you wouldn't necessarily expect here. (Plus, the service is AMAZING) We walked in (no reservation) after dinner one weekend evening and we were greeted by Matt, who found us a spot at the bar. He gave us menus and a "wellness shot" -- delicious little concoction to wet your palate! Right away I was blown away by the interior and the menu. This looked like it belonged somewhere in Denver or Chicago, but I was thrilled to find it on the island! Matt helped guide us to drinks we'd like on the menu. I ordered the Purgatory, made up of Bourbon, chocolate bitters, agave and premium mezcal. It was divine!! We also ordered some warmed olives, and they were hot and so fragrant. Definitely something I'd order again at the bar. I was stoked to see they have a veggie-specific section on the food menu and can't wait to go back for dinner. I'll definitely make a reservation though, as it was pretty full. Next time, in terms of drinks, I have my eyes on the espresso martini (off menu, but saw a pic on Yelp), and the kiss kiss bang bang. Thanks to Matt and Emily who helped us with our drinks along the way. Sometimes these fabulous craft bars can be pretentious, but the service here was a huge standout. Can't wait to return!

I feel like the drinks used to be a lot more creative from what I saw on their socials and from what my friend said who went back in the day it used to be more of a speakeasy elevated cocktail vibe versus a tiki/dive bar vibe. We had to ask for the chips that are supposed to be given complimentary and then we ordered bread and soup which literally took an unnecessary like 30 mins or more to come out as we watched the people on both sides of us get their full meals before us when we got items that just had to be reheated. The tomato soup was very good once it finally came out, the rolls were good but nothing as great as the hype in my opinion for the menu. The drinks were good but honestly the starter shot given at the bar was my favorite which was a hibiscus Pom margarita which I ended up getting fully as my second drink. Service started out hot but then went downhill but that is unfortunately the standard of when gratuity is already included in a check. Then when it came time to pay it got weird when there was a simple mix up when my friend intentionally overpaid even with gratuity involved in her check and the bartender asked her if she wanted change and she said yes but never brought it back. My friend gave 3 - 20s on a $38 check (gratuity) already in but she wanted to tip a few more dollars because she is a very generous person and then when she asked about her change that's when it got weird and the bartender made it seem like she didn't understand why she wanted change instead of just apologizing for the mistake and they went back and forth for a few minutes with the bartender ending up just giving her the extra $20 back. Just left a weird taste in our mouths for the experience when I feel like any bartender would understand what she wanted to do with giving extra larger bills to split especially when she said she wanted change and it was a massive overpayment or if the thought there was a very generous tip like 30% would make sure with guest that's what they want and show appreciation if that were the case. It was just weird how it all was handled. The decor was on point for Christmas and the vibe was very casual but oldie vibes which makes sense for it being in Anna Maria island.

A lot of the old staff came back, a great sign when we arrived. Tonight's menu felt very similar to pre-hurricane menu. We got two grouper dishes (pecan crusted and blackened over Parmesan pasta) and both were incredible. Added on shishito peppers, shrimp curry puffs, corn bread, and a very unique onion dish that I can best describe as a soup-less French onion soup. Service was excellent, and cocktails were good, if small. My only complaint was that the beer menu dropped off - they used to carry a nice variety on tap and local brews but mostly bland big-name beers now. I'll definitely be back again, glad to have it in the rotation of great local restaurants!
