I've heard of The Dog Bakery before as they're super well known for their birthday cakes and they're all over Instagram. It was my dog's 3rd birthday and I was looking to get her a special treat but I wasn't looking to buy a birthday cake as I think it's way too big to split between even 2 dogs. I'll contemplate it again when she hits a special milestone like 5 years old but I did want to check out the store to see what else they offered so I thought I'd give it a shot. Parking: it's all street parking on 2nd street and most of them metered unless you park more into the residential neighborhood. Even though it's metered, they give you a free 15 min grace period if you're just looking to pick up quickly so that was super nice! Store: walking in, the bakery item goods were on the right side on the counter and on the left were of dog accessories, toys and packaged goods. I didn't browse for anything else other than baked items as that's what I came looking for. They had really cute cupcake sized treats as well as cookies. They include grain free items if your dog has a grain allergy so every dog can get a treat! I opted for the 6 item bundle value was $21 and it was discounted for $16ish. I picked up the carrot cake, the burger, the whoopie pie, the PB bone cupcake, a grain free bar and 3 cake pop bites. It was a special occasion so I felt the bundle value was super worth it not to mention the treats are decorated so cute! Taste: my dog absolutely devoured them so needless to say, she absolutely enjoyed it! Highly recommend this place if you're looking to spoil your dogs. I'll be coming back for more! read more

She is two years old and wanted to celebrate her one-year anniversary from being adopted from a shelter but this is her second birthday. The staff there was kind and helpful. The staff overheard my discussion with my husband about customizing the cheese bone cookie and actually did it for us instead. Great great customer service. I like the recommendation of blue icing because all my dog's decor was pink. The blue print popped out and my dog devoured that cookie! Love the shop and there are several dogs that stop by to get a free treat. The staff is so happy to give them to their patrons. Great environment and great selections. I was so excited to purchase a cake to celebrate my pups big 10th birthday (it's TODAY 10/6/24 - YAY!!) Called in yesterday to ask if they had any pre-made cakes which they luckily they did so I decided to order one (thinking I'd receive a nice thick cake like my previous purchase). When I arrived to pick it up I was definitely surprised when I saw the display of pretty underwhelming sample cakes... But ours was already paid for over the phone and custom message written on the cake so I took it. Love that we have a dog bakery right here in Belmont shores! I always stop by here when I'm in the area. My dog loves the treats here. Yes they are on the pricey side ($4.50 a pop, $17 for half a dozen, etc). But rent on second roof must be through the roof so they're accounting for that overhead. I'm really upset with my purchase. I used to purchase birthday cakes and special treats from someone who baked out of their own kitchen. But we decided to try this place, The Dog Bakery, thinking it would be a great experience. I was terribly wrong. I'm adding photos of the cake I ordered (per the website's description) and a photo of the cake that I received. The cake doesn't match what I ordered. I purchased this beautiful cake topper because according to the website's description, I should have plenty of room for one. But the writing was so big (sloppy), i couldn't use the decorations. Also, I had a pastel theme party which should have been the writing on the cake but instead I got hot pink. Moreover, I couldn't feed it to my pups because it was sooo hard. I couldn't even cut smaller pieces so I'm thinking this was a very old cake. And I did follow instructions to leave cake out at least 20 minutes before. I also bought a bunch of sliders, and those were also hard. My husband had to use a knife and his hands to crumble and use as a topper instead. What a mess. read more
