I believe the brown sides are due to the flavor of cake that I ordered-- although, I would have appreciated an associate communicating that such would by the case before creating my cake. Overall, the process of ordering the cake online is not at all straightforward. Their website page for ordering custom cakes seems broken on mobile devices- which is why I went with a Mother's Cake design in the first place. After ordering, I waited two days for an associate to call me( per the online instructions), so that I may pay. They didn't call, so I called. Not a huge deal! Although, upon calling, the associate I spoke to was initially rude and less than friendly/ service oriented. It made the phone call unnecessarily negative and I do wish that I had cancelled my order right then. Instead, I brushed it off and trusted the process...
