We stopped in for drinks and I was pleasantly surprised by The Dublin. (We were previously big fans of The Governor's Tavern which is now closed). We sat at the bar and were with a big group. It was clean and the wait staff was friendly - the bar tender was really on top of things. I got a Cajun shrimp and corn chowder that was really tasty. They have a nice dining area in addition to the bar seats. We'll be back to check out more from this place. read more

We've been coming to The Dublin regularly for a few years now. The owner and the staff are welcoming and so friendly. I like to try the specials which are always good and you can't beat their shepherds pie, steamed cheeseburgers, French onion soup or clam chowder and prime rib on the weekend. Consistent casual fair. Favorites include the stuffed mushrooms and the boneless wings. The Irishman (a Reuben) is an affordable and tasty meal. And of course there's shepherd's pie. I've been here twice now for burgers. It's a small and friendly space. Our server (I forget his name but I want to call him Josh) was excellent. He was super friendly and made us laugh. To our surprise, he is new there - but you would never know it! You'd think he's been doing this for years. The burgers are pretty decent and I really like their boneless wings. The wings are juicy, flavorful, and has a nice crisp to the coating. The burgers are super tasty and have a nice char grill to them. We will definitely be back for a quick bite or to relax and enjoy a beer. read more

We had 2 great experiences. Friday night with friends sitting in the bar area. Great service. Great beer. Great food Saturday dinner with family. Our waitress was attentive and fantastic. Our food came out quick. Their Lobster bisque is fantastic!! Wish it was endless . My husband and I had dinner here tonight, we were very pleased with the quality of the food. Knowing it is a bar setting we went in not expecting the food to be exceptional. First the martinis we had were generous and good. We were blown away by the quality of the meals we ordered. My husband who regularly eats at Ruth's Criss said his fillet was as good if not better at half the price, our salads were fresh and perfect. My chicken piccata over fettuccini was wonderful. I have eaten here four times over the past year and every time, my food has been very good. Large portions, fair prices, and the staff is friendly. They have live music on weekends, too. The downside is that it's small inside and seating is sometimes limited especially when there is live entertainment. I have had the pulled pork sandwich twice. It comes with a choice of sides and chips and a pickle - and the sandwich is huge! My friend had the club sandwich and it was gigantic. They have good food specials, too. Gotta say I'm a fan. Good food, VERY attentive wait staff and very reasonable prices. I had a large prime rib and Joan had the lobster bake all for $33. Crazy, yes? We were met at the door and seated right off. Drinks were brought quickly and our order was taken after we had a chance to decide. I was given the wrong veggie but the waitress was around shortly and when I explained the error, I'd say I had my replacement in a couple of minutes (before I had a chance to even try the wrong veggie that I was given). Have you ever been in the situation that it takes so long to get the correct order that you finish eating what you didn't order before you get the right order? It's never gonna happen here. Everyone was there to help and didn't play the "that's not my station" game. At least three different people waited on us in one way or another. Here's a new one - while one person was refreshing my drink, another person stop over to inquire about my glass having gone missing. Is that attentive? Dropped a fork and a new one was there instantly. All this while they were setting up for a birthday party. With that said, understand that I paid $12 for a large prime rib. It was a $12 prime rib not a $50 prime rib. It's not excellent food, it's very good food for a very low price. The ambiance is bar-ish not pub-ish like the corner pug. The burgers and club sandwiches are my personal favorites! There is no other place that can compete with the City Steam Cheeseburger. This burger is huge! It is cooked to perfection every time (and is juicy in the middle). The cheese is fresh sharp cheddar cheese. If you like grilled onions then you should include as well. Comes with chips and a side. The turkey club is delicious. This club is piled high with fresh turkey and includes fresh lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheese and the condiment of your choice. Comes with chips and a side. This club is ~4-5 inches high so plan to take 1/2 of the meal home with you. The new owners are nice people. The wait staff is friendly and the service I receive is great. read more

Atmosphere: I don't like when a place paints the walls green and calls them self an Irish pub. This is one of those places. Service was a bit slow but friendly. Small L-shape bar in the back. One side gets a small tv and my side gets to face a wall. Beer: There was one local brew on tap but that's it. I don't even think they had Guinness on tap. This is a bud light kind of place. Didn't get food. Summary: This place is probably fine if you're local and drink bud light. Seems like a friendly place. If you're looking for good beer you don't need to stop here. Message to Owner: I would suggest a more Irish beer menu (Guinness, black & tan) but I don't think your crowd would drink them. This is a local pub which in the past has had a not so good reputation. About 6 months ago we decided to try it again. We were pleasantly surprised and have been back many times since then as a couple and with friends. The meat they serve is from the Lucky Goat and if you know them enough said. A friend suggested we go to lunch at The Dublin. Ten minutes from my home, yet I had never even heard of it! The food was wonderful - I had the Irishman, their version of the reuben, and it was fabulous! full of meat - for my side, I picked homemade potato salad which was deliicious. Ate here for a recent Saturday night w a friend. The waitress was on task; if fact there was more staff then customers, but the staff did fine. We were offered a number of high-brow specials which were well beyond stopping in to get something to eat. I typically evaluate a pub based on their ability to make a good burger so I ordered one with fries. I wanted ice tea but everything was a powdered mix, so I had water. The burger was at best adequate to provide nutrition I guess, but if lacked flavor. I asked for onions and got a couple of shards thrown on it. The burger clearly was tossed together with the least effort and care. The fries? Will never eat them there again. In fact I found no reason why I should ever go back there. For a short drive to Hebron I can get a terrific burger, great fries, and home brewed tea. I don't think a cook who can't make a good burger will prepare a good high-brow dinner.... The water was good tho and service did their job. read more

I was here with a few friends to watch the Olympics and this is a cool spot. They have outdoor seating and several tables. The drinks were all priced well and the food was really good! I grew up in East Hampton so I know how the other options here compare, and I still was surprised to find that this place was jam-packed when I stopped in. As other reviewers have mentioned, they have more Italian dishes on the menu than Irish. They also don't know how to pour a Guinness properly. The place is certainly full of drunk people though, including our assigned member of the waitstaff, who was sloshed beyond being able to carry on a conversation without slurred speech and confusion. As in, dinner orders were taken from 2 members of the party, and then the table was abandoned for a while, and then another several orders were taken, and the last person had to go tap someone on the shoulder to get her order taken. Dinner came in a similarly random fashion, with some of us getting appetizers and entrees at the same time, and others not getting anything at all. Caesar salads were passable but the grilled cheese was just awful - burnt black on top and mushy on the bottom (the menu claims it was "made the old fashioned way" - I didn't know that using American "cheese product" was the old fashioned way?) Halfway through the meal the other waitstaff realized that our service was mostly us getting up and asking other people for what we wanted, and at that point they did try to make up for it and a few drinks on the house came around. I think this place could be a reasonable place to go to grab a few drinks, but in terms of food, the main draw would be to poke fun at the multitude of typos on the menu (try the "quasidilla"!) read more

We actually looked on yelp for one of the worst dive bars we could find and stumbled upon some scary reviews for The Dublin and decided to give it a whirl out of curiosity. Whoever wrote those scathing reviews must have had a terrible day or a personal vendetta against the staff because this place was awesome! Decent selection of beer, friendly bartenders, great food, and a warm atmosphere. I ate at the Dublin late Sunday a week ago and had the worst shepherd's pie I have ever had. A slab of mashed potatoes about the size of a paperback book on top of a mix of tasteless ground beef and corn kernels. No veggies besides the corn, no gravy, no flavor. Unlike any I have ever had before. I should have taken the misspelled "shepard" on the menu as a warning. The bartender was friendly and attentive, surroundings pleasant enough. This used to be called Daltons Pub. You would think a name change would hint to a better place, however you would be wrong. The service is far from good, the waitress is lacking in the courtesy & friendly department. When you first walk in you are greeted by the loud music not the employees. They bring you paper one sheet menus that look like they are a couple years old with many stains. The bar is small,but the bartender seemed nice once she knew of the issue we had. Our experience started off around 6:30PM, we went in picked a table since its seat yourself, we found a table up front thinking it would be hard to miss. We were freezing our bodies apart as it felt like the ac was on and it was 56 degrees outside, but the more one drinks I guess they don't mind. We were giving menus by someone with a personality of a slug after 5 -10 mins. She then came back and got our drink order. While we looked over the menu we noticed there were 2 other table of people, they were by no means busy. She brought our drinks back, however 1 drink was wrong she brought diet instead of regular coke. Simple mistake that she made 3 times, after placing our order we sat and talked for 1 hour 10 min. when we started asking questions of our food we were huffed at. When she came back she had informed us they lost the ticket to not only our table but 1 other. Now mind you there was only 3 tables that had ordered food as we were all talking to each other about it. We were simply told it would be out quickly & we were thinking of going elsewhere at this point "we should have" in the time we waiting the 3rd table that had gotten there after everyone by a good 45 mins had gotten their food and finished, as the other 2 tables still waited. The table next to us got there food, however the couple was disappointed that it was not correct. Then after asking our waitress again when to expect our food we were told it would be right out. It was then brought out 10 min after that. Now here is where it gets bad. Our order was not correct, was not cooked correctly as my burger was med rare "asked for med well" it was missing the bacon,onion,mustard. As well as the other burger we had ordered. The both were not cooked long enough, had the wrong cheese and missing items. The waitress was very unhelpful and avoided anyone who was not ordering liquor. After we were done which was not long after getting the food it took another 20 min to get the bill from when requested. The bill was not discounted for the mistakes nor was anyone apologetic except according to our waitress the cook. As we were sitting there we noticed the cook and the help were joined around at the end of the bar talking & probably drinking which would explain a lot. Do yourself a favor and find some place else anywhere would be better. Total time 2 hours 15 mins for 2 burgers and 1 chicken sandwich. AVOID this place like a bad rash please. read more

We moved to East Hampton a few years ago and eat out often. Coming from the south end of CT I am pretty used to good food and good service. I had little or no expectations when we first went to the Dublin. I certainly didn't expect it to be what it is. The food is really awesome! I've not had anything on the menu that isn't great. The smothered sirloin with sauteed spinach makes me never want to cook again - Simply YUMMY! Service is pretty great, too & the price is just right:) It's officially "my place!" C'mon down.. This little place has some of the best hamburgers, french fries and cole slaw I have ever had in my life. I am happy I ran across it and almost always try to find time to stop for lunch when I am driving through town.
