    Chongqing Hot Chicken
    Austin N.

The Dumpling Boys is conveniently located in the food hall, where there are a handful of other options to cater to different tastes and plenty of tables to sit down inside and outside. The service was quick and friendly, asking if I needed any additional utensils. The XLB had a decent wrapping, able to hold the filling inside without falling apart. The soup inside was good but nothing too noteworthy. I was hoping the tom yum sauce would be more hot and sour, and the consistency didn't allow for it to coat the dumplings effectively. The Chongqing chicken boasted a more flavorful profile, with a nicely coated chicken covered with peppercorns and dried chilis. I wished this came with a side of steamed rice for this price point but it is an additional charge.

Pleasantly surprised as I had no expectations for this place prior to dining here. For a food hall we received table service with plates and utensils brought to our table along with the occasional check-in to see if we liked the food or needed anything else. We ordered the ma la XLB, wonton in chili oil, spicy crispy fish with a side of steamed rice and tiramisu. The wonton in chili oil is probably one of the best I've had in the Portland metro area (besides DTF) with flavorful filling although I do wish the wrapping could be a little chewier. The spicy crispy fish is a little on the sweeter side but still good. The ma la XLB was probably my least favorite as there wasn't much broth in the XLB and the sauce did not stick well either but it was worth a first try and I haven't seen the flavor offered anywhere else. The chili oil for a dip does not have enough chili. The tiramisu was made perfectly with softened lady fingers and a light sweetness. I will definitely be back to try other dishes!

Wow! What a hidden treasure! They take the same XLB and sauce them with different flavors such as Mala (szechan) and Kung Pao (Chinese spicy). We loved the shrimp and corn pan fried dumplings, too. The garlic bok choy was amazing! The food hall was sadly empty so the food came out quickly! Could see this as a very successful place so I hope this gets busy!

The food hall had plenty of seating and front staff was nice and quick. Menu was surprisingly extensive for a food hall establishment, ranging from smaller apps to large family style dishes. Ordered the wonton in chili oil, Mala XLB, spicy crispy fish and tiramisu. Food came out within 10 mins. The wontons and crispy fish were legit. Wontons were juicy and chili oil coated every piece. Crispy fish had a great batter, fried and tossed evenly in their seasoning, while the fish itself was soft and flaky still. Never imagine I would say a Chinese joint has good tiramisu but this place did it right. It was perfect with softened lady fingers and slightly sweet, which is how Asians like their desserts.

Wow, I saw some reviews and this place is legit! Inside The Last Sip (didn't realize it wasn't a stand alone place, but inside a small plaza with a few other restaurants). I was craving wontons in chili oil, and got the pork and chives wontons on the recommendation of the guy who rang me up. So happy. So good.

We went here to try it out. They have dumplings steamed or pan fried. We ordered crab puffs, pork and cabbage dumplings and chicken soup dumplings. I found the pork and cabbage dumplings to have more flavor than the chicken soup dumplings. I was disappointed that the chicken soup dumplings came in a plate with the dumplings in congealed liquid, which I'm assuming it's chicken soup. I was expecting maybe the chicken soup in a bowl with the dumplings. Guess I was wrong about that. The food was decent. They were pretty busy on a Saturday dinner time.

In writing this review, I'm judging by the food I ordered from Dumpling Boys through DoorDash, so I can't speak for the entire establishment (service, ambience, etc), but I did really enjoy the food itself. The chicken fried rice was basic, but flavorful, with a good amount of meat and vegetables. The garlic broccoli was REALLY garlicky (which I love) and cooked perfectly. It wasn't raw or mushy and complimented the rice well. The pan-seared XLB was good, but I didn't think the sear added much to them. I think next time I'll order the regular steamed ones. Last, I wanted to try their wontons with chili oil ... Unfortunately, I didn't like this dish as much. I think it was the flavor of the chili oil/sauce that I found off-putting. Maybe I'm too used to the ones at Din Tai Fung. Overall, the food from Dumpling Boys was good and I would recommend it!

Delicious, spicy how we like it, check them out for sure! We love mapo tofu and crispy fish and this meal did not disappoint. If you can handle spice and love bold flavors this is definitely your spot. The dumplings in the chili oil were also yummy, we also ordered their House Special beef ribs to go and those were large and flavorful. I'll get a pic next time!

Spicy dumplings, green beans, shrimp fried rice

Great customer service, we tried and loved the spicy dumplings, green beans, fried rice and Mongolian beef.

We tried the shrimp and corn dumplings and pork dumplings. They were so yummy that we came back to order more (the pork and chives dumplings and the wonton in chili oil). Everything was sooo good! We'll definitely come back. Great customer service too!

    Pan-Seared XLB

Came here for my favorite pan seared XLB and was surprised that they have tiramisu here. The tiramisu was super creamy and not overly sweet. It is one of the best ones I've had in a while. Will be back every weekend.

Anyone looking for hand-pulled noodles: as of May 2025, you will not find them here. They apparently stopped serving them. May return for: Beef In Chili Sauce (cold) - I love this dish and have had it at many other places. Chili oil was delicious; onions and cilantro went well with the thin slices of beef. Would not return for: anything else. Taiwan Beef Brisket Tomato Noodle soup - it was bland broth, unfortunately. Uncooked spinach and tomatoes added on top, very little flavor. Brisket was not very soft. Mongolian Beef Chow Mein - there was a puddle of sauce at the bottom of the bowl, which I would not expect for chow mein. Definitely not cooked in a wok (or done very poorly). Handmade spicy pork wontons - also not flavorful. If they used the chili oil on the Beef in Chili dish, this might taste better. But the filling would something to be desired.

Came in on weekend for lunch and it was definitely a 40 min wait, but then literally no one on a Tuesday night for dinner. Somehow, the time for the food to come out was about the same. You get a few that come out quick, then a few that took long enough for me to notice it, and then always a few where you wonder if they forgot your dish. Even when there was no one else in the restaurant. The XLB and pot stickers are all super solid, not quite Ding Tai Fung quality, but at these prices and wait times they are great. Qbao's are delicious. I think the noodles are honestly slept on. They all have great flavor, super bouncy noodles, and honestly come in a size that you can easily finish on your own or still big enough to split in case you wanted to try another flavor. I also think the pork wonton's with chili sauce are also super slept on, the sauce is oddly sweet, but honestly I love that. Service here can be hit or miss. They don't really do a each table gets a specific server system, at least that hasn't been my experience. You'll get some food runners, and you can usually just flag anyone down to get what you need. But it does mean things can slip through the cracks if you don't have one person keeping an eye on the list of food ordered for the table or you have multiple servers checking in on you to see if you got all your food even though you just told the server 3 min ago you were still missing something. All in all, this place is phenomenal and approachable. I will be back, maybe not on the weekends though, it's not quite worth all that.

"Let me know if you have any questions!". We had questions about her menu items, and she answered them nicely and thoroughly, in detail. Okay, so we order two things: the S3 and the Spicy Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen, and here's what U think about each: Tonkotsu Ramen: -The Meat doesn't have a huge initial, impactful taste, but the flavor settles in a couple seconds after you bite it and it's a very soft, warming feeling. -The Broth is where the spice is, and it's not like "oh my mouth is on fire" it's the type of spice that hits you in the back of the throat, so it's bearable but I couldn't chug it personally, I had to take sips which is nice for someone who devours their food like there's no tomorrow (like me). -The Noodles are.. just your typical Ramen noodles, nothing special to add there but nothing bad to say at all! -The Egg, although not marinated in soy sauce like some places do, was cooked well. The inside was soft and gooey, but the white was fully cooked. I have no complaints! -The Mushrooms added a nice texture to the noodles and the overall dish, and worked to make it even more satisfactory. The S3: -I don't have much to say because my cousin ordered it and I only had a few bites, but the veggies were cooked nicely... -The big boom about it was the noodles. If I had to describe it, I would say it's like.. an Orange Chicken type of Tater Tot, it was really unique and fun to eat. Next time I go, it'll be hard to decide what to order.. Okay, don't just take my word for it, go see for yourself! いただきます!

We may have gone a little overboard ordering (okay... a lot overboard ), but no regrets because everything was delicious -- and the leftovers were just as good later! Chinese Delicacy Restaurant - Yelp Review…read more A former chef of mine and longtime friend recommended this place, saying it was at the very top of his list for Chinese food in the Portland area. I'm still not sure whether he was feeling nostalgic... or slightly intoxicated when he made that claim. Like several other Chinese restaurants I've reviewed recently, the exterior leaves a rough first impression. The signage is faded, the building shows visible wear, and overall maintenance appears neglected. Yes, it's on 82nd Ave, so expectations are naturally adjusted, but even with that in mind the property looks tired. Inside was better, though far from impressive. The dining room was passable. I've definitely seen worse. The waitress was friendly, seated me quickly, and brought tea and a menu. I ordered a standard combo dinner with a few modifications. They advertise substitution charges, so I assumed special requests wouldn't be an issue. I asked for extra egg and green onions in the fried rice. Unfortunately, there were no green onions at all and maybe a quarter of an egg total. The rice was heavily saturated with oil, making it greasy and unappetizing. Instead of barbecue pork, it contained small, indistinct bits of pork. The sweet and sour pork was the only decent part of the meal. It had a thin, crispy batter and wasn't drenched in the usual overly sweet red sauce. The sauce was more orange than red and was acceptable, though nothing special. Personally, I missed the pineapple and bell peppers found in many East Coast versions. The chow mein was disappointing. Very few vegetables, soft noodles, and minimal flavor. It felt bland and uninspired. Let's not forget to mention the three small pieces of baby corn in the chow mein with deteriorated kernels. I'm pretty sure it was rotten. I can imagine them pulling it out of a 1970 something Tupperware dish in the fridge and tossing it in there. I imagine it was bought in a number 10 can and I've been sitting in the fridge for six months. My palette is quick to pick up anything spoiled. I requested hot and sour soup but was initially served egg flower soup instead. After pointing out the mistake, the correct soup arrived. It was scalding hot and extremely thick with cornstarch. Flavor-wise, it was boring and forgettable. One taste was enough. I also ordered barbecue pork on the side. What arrived were three very thin slices that looked and tasted old, with a slightly off color. Definitely not fresh, and frankly unpleasant. Overall, this visit fell well below expectations. Final Grade: D D for disappointing, with several elements edging toward downright unpleasant.
