Have been twice. Once ate there and then again for take out. The first eat in experience impressed me compared to other PDX Chinese restaurants. Second time our onion pancakes were thin and tough, the house noodles were blah. For Portland I'd rate it overall a 3 but compared to places like SF, LA, NJ and NY I'd rate it a 1.5

We ordered the food delivered so I cannot speak to the cleanliness or friendliness of the staff. We ordered the Vegetable Spring Roll, Beef Chow Fun, Orange Chicken and the Barbecued Pork Fried Rice which was ready and delivered on time. The spring rolls were good and I could have eaten more. The beef chow fun was pretty good - tender beef and noodles were good. The pork fried rice was really good. The pork had nice flavor and texture. The orange chicken was packaged great. The sauce was in a separate container to keep the breading from getting soggy. The chicken was an issue. The chicken pieces were small encased in a huge amount of flavorless breading. It was overall, ok.

Great vibe in the place! We ordered to go and they were extremely quick to prepare. So glad we got the excuse to try a new restaurant during Portland's dumpling week!

Old weathered stand alone building on the corner. Inside just as dated from the 70s. This is a foodie's gamble ~ it could go either way. Faint voice greeting and even more tender smile motioned to sit anywhere we like. Ordered from the Korean/Chinese menu. Thick gooey black bean sauced noodles is what we came for and plenty of napkins offered to wipe our satisfied lips. Gan Poong Gi flash fry had a nice crunch and flavor with chicken tender inside. Dishes just slightly under salted which had us enjoy even more. Side dish of Chinese style kimchi. Fragrant hot tea to wash it down. Home style service like your auntie's home table. Multiple thank yous as we left. Authentic Korean Chinese cuisine so savory & tasty.

    Peking style fish fillets

Yum!! I've never had Chinese Korean food before, and I'm so glad I got to try it! I've lived in SE for a long time but I've never gone here before. First there's a parking lot that wraps around the building with a decent amount of spots. Inside there's a ton of seats and it's very open and clean. We were greeted and given a table and hot tea as well as some menus. The waitress was very kind and would often check on us to see if we were ready- warning, lots of DELICIOUS options to choose from it may take a while to decide on what to order! We got the house orange chicken, seafood black bean noodles, green beans, Peking style fish fillet and the kimchi side dish was given complimentary. I would say the kimchi is more sour and pickled rather than spiced, which I quite enjoyed. If you ever had Lao or Thai picked mustard greens, that's how their kimchi tasted. The house orange chicken was crunchy and saucy. And HUGE pieces of meat rather than being mainly batter. The Peking style fish fillets were also huge and loaded with sauce. You have the option for sauce on top or on the side. Get it on top!! It falls into each fried crevice perfectly. The seafood black bean noodles had shrimp and squid, it was more sweet than savory but still delicious. The green Beans were of course the perfect garlicky goodness. Everything was reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. Would recommend! Everything came out quickly and piping hot!

This is for the 5/5 star jjangmyun. I kid you not I've been back 3 times for just the black bean noodles here and the tangseyuk (sweet and sour pork). Black bean noodles: The sauce is thick, it does not liquify like other Korean jjangmyun places and really sticks to the noodles. The noodles they use are always super delicious with the right bite and don't easily get soggy (I think it's hand made). Even after leaving this in the fridge for 3-4 days it still tasted amazing infact-IT TASTED BETTER (don't judge my decisions). Sweet and sour pork aka tangseyuk: I'm usually super traditionalist with it comes to the batter of fried stuff, and I'm always super team rice flour or potato flour especially when it comes to this dish. BUT WOW. THIS was sooo crispy and it stayed crispy for a while. The meat cuts are also tender and well balanced with marbled fattiness. Not like other places which use super lean porkchop cuts. Which I dislike. The handmade dumplings here are meaty and hit the spot after a long day. Overall this play slays regardless of its simple decor, they know what they are doing with these noodles and I pray they never change the recipe.

Always a pleasure to visit - service is excellent, portion sizes huge and quality of food always fresh. Easy to carry on a conversation too.

    Honey Walnut Shrimp
    Steven N.

The HIGHS: - Honey walnut shrimps - large and crispy, good portion, not too sweet, fair price - Pork pan fried dumplings - decent size, crispy bottom, flavorful pork filling that goes well with the chives. you get A LOT for what you pay for - Black bean noodles (jjajangmyeon) were more savory than sweet compared to Korean places (which I prefer) The MIDS: - Stir fry seafood noodles - I like how it included scallops and shrimp, but a little salty The LOWS: - Slower service during peak hours. Had to 40+ mins during Father's day weekend CONCLUSION: - Solid no frills traditional Chinese food served family style to share. Beware long wait times during dinner time/weekends/holidays.

I come back to town every once in a while since I moved but always try to stop by here when I'm back. Been coming here since I was in high school and it's still the same. The food is still great! I always get the seafood black bean noodles and it was still delicious when I came back, I also have the crab puffs a try and it was also delicious! The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite peaceful. Our waitress was super nice and attentive considering she was the only one in the front. Overall, would definitely recommend if you haven't given it a try yet! :)

chinese delicacy is a chinese restaurant in southeast that serves both the "american style" chinese food and "korean style" chinese food. they have a separate menu that is written in korean and includes those korean/chinese hybrid foods that i grew up with in korea. however, they don't really compare to the food i grew up with nor does it even compare to korean chinese food in los angeles (where i lived a long time). but it's not bad. the best word i can use to describe the food here is that it's "fine." not bad, not great. considering there are not many korean chinese options out here in portland, this will have to do without me having to drive to beaverton or something, which also is maybe one notch above "fine." so not having to drive out there for just "fine" is just fine with me.

    Katy M.

We checked out Chinese Delicacy because it was on the Dumpling Week list and loved the place! Very pleasant and helpful service, delicious food, and great prices. The potstickers were freshly made, nice chewy wrapper, and stuffed with juicy flavorful pork. The eggplant and kung pao lunch plates were huge and yummy. We tried both soups, and enjoyed both very much. And the kimchi was excellent! Can't wait to eat our leftovers. New favorite Chinese/Korean find!

Salt and pepper squid lunch special w fried rice
    Grace M.

Amazing lunch meal deal!! Basically a full entree size that came with fried rice and a spring roll for $13! It was all delicious and hit the spot. The batter on the squid was a little denser than I'd like but the flavor was right, and again such a good deal. Will def try to come again for dinner to try more of their Korean food.

Two bibimbaps to go: one was tofu and the other was spicy pork. Spicy pork is not spicy but looks like it is. Good taste, so it's marinated well and the meat isn't tough to chew, like some other places. I loved the spicy pork bibimbap though. All fresh ingredients! They give a lot of vegetables, which is so nice, because other places are very sparing with their ingredients. I'm usually left with so much rice at the end. However, this place did a good job giving the right amount of ingredients. They also gave a small cup of miso soup - thank you! Would get this again! My husband enjoyed his tofu version. If you're someone who wants spice, add some of the red sauce they give you in a cup. I was very happy the spicy pork wasn't spicy, but I liked being able to control any spice with the red sauce.

Location: This bar is on the first floor of the Hyatt House Portland / Downtown. Ambiance: Pretty quiet and chill. There weren't a lot of people there so it was really easy to get a drink. Drink options: I really loved how they circle around different local beer on tap. They also have a few bottled beer too. They have a cast amount of liquor too. Surprisingly, they had a new bottle of Hennessy when we finished the first (during our stay). Usually a lot of bars in hotels don't have it, so that was a major plus. Bartenders: We met three while we were there. All of them super kind, friendly, and informative of the surrounding area. They gave us lots of tips on what to see, eat, and drink. They were really down to earth people. Pricing: I thought it to be fairly reasonable for a hotel, however I might just be jaded from Bay Area pricing (yikes). What I loved about this bar is that we were able to just chat with the bartender. I didn't feel like I had to go back to my room with my drink (which is usually the case). I was able to talk to a few other people sitting at the bar too. Of course all from out of town, but still nice talking to other friendly strangers. They do serve food at this place, but I didn't really get a chance to try it it since there was soooo many other food joints in the area.
