Will was great, kept the coffee coming!! Food has served hot, very large portions, enough to take home. Tables are kinda sticky, but could be due to the humidity. Can't wait to try dinner, menu looks amazing!

Baked potatoes with cheese and bacon delicious

Stopped in for breakfast and we were sat down quickly we ordered coffee and breakfast everything was delicious and the price was reasonable great eggs and pancakes

When I was younger, I used to go to the beach each summer and The Dunes breakfast buffet was always a must do. I did try it again in the last few years and still enjoyed. But this trip we did dinner and it just wasn't that great. The waiter was very nice but the food tasted frozen and unseasoned.

Down at the OBX for some relaxation and had to make a stop here for dinner! Now, they have a great breakfast, but it's dinner time, so we're here for that! Within 15 minutes, we're at a table! I've had tuna for the last 4 meals, so I went comfort here with the amazing fried chicken! Great service! Classic Nags Head decor! All good here!!

Have been coming here for ages, always accommodating, reasonable waits and excellent prices. Good food, will always be back.

This review is actually a 4.5 star review. First time here. Food was absolutely delicious. We tried several apps (fried green tomato, oysters mockafella, shrimp and crab dip). All apparently were a hit. Several of us had the fried bounty of the sea. The rest had the Broiled bounty of the Sea. For dessert we tried a slice of the cheese cake, coconut cake and the cheese cake. All were delicious. Thw menu has a good selection and tge portion sizes are good. Had a couple of the classic margaritas which were very tasty. The service was amazing, and every one was very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is very casual and relaxed . We will definitely return.

Heard this place was good and checked it out for breakfast. - The interior is homey, and there's a gift shop with fun merch. - Standard type breakfast menu, nothing innovative, but many of the essentials were available. The addition of meat substitute(s) would help a lot. - I got the Belgian waffle with blueberries - it was nicely browned and hit the spot. Also ordered the "Gourmet Grits" - although there was nothing gourmet about them, they weren't even shone-ground, nevertheless they were delicious with cheddar and I enjoyed them. - Service was friendly and all-around top-notch.

We showed up around 3:00 on a rainy Thursday and were seated immediately, which was much appreciated. We did end up in what was probably the least comfortable booth in the restaurant. I'm sure you guys know the one... It was a tight squeeze for my husband, my daughter, and me, but I'd still take that over waiting in the rain. My husband's crab legs were exactly what he was hoping for, and my crab cake sandwich was delicious. The surprise star of the meal, though, was my daughter's grilled cheese. We somehow ended up on an unofficial "grilled cheese tour" of the Outer Banks, and Tortugas' Lie set the bar at about a 15/10. Every grilled cheese we had after that was chasing first place. The only real tragedy of the visit? My husband accidentally left the bottle of their hot sauce at our Airbnb. Now I'm weighing the cost of ordering another bottle online against the cost of replacing my husband. Jury's still out. If you've never been, put it on your OBX list. It's one of those places we make a point to visit every trip.

We came here a couple times while on vacation. This might be the most famous bar/restaurant in the…read moreOuter Banks. It's not very large, so it can get crowded. If you have to wait, there's a cool little bar outside in the back where you can order from theimited food/drink menu. There's also 2 sand volleyball courts where some serious (and not serious v-ball is played). Our 6th grade daughter is trying to get on her school volleyball team, so we brought her here to get some training with a local volleyball coach who happened to be here giving lessons. Our dogs, my wife and I just chilled out, drinking beer and mixed drinks while our daughter got some good work in for just $15 per hour. Win-win.

I've been here with a party of 12 before, and we definitely waited a while, but I was impressed that they were able to accommodate a group that size. This time, I was with a party of two and we were seated pretty quickly. My one complaint about the wait system is that they announce when your table is ready, but if you're out of earshot, you'll miss it. It would be nice if they used a text, call, or buzzer system so you could walk down to the beach while you wait. Part of the pier seating is covered, but the farther you go out, the more exposed you are. We were seated near the end, so it was hot in the direct sun and very windy. But that comes with the territory, and the views make it worth it. There are also plenty of birds hoping you'll share your fries with them, which is both expected and pretty funny. We each ordered a Pain Killer. It was good at first, but it quickly became watered down, and I didn't think it was worth $10. We also got the nachos, but the price adds up quickly once you start adding toppings. Most of the menu is very à la carte. The prices seem reasonable at first, but sides and toppings can add up fast. The burgers don't come with fries, for example. We both got the West Coast Burger. It was good, but nothing particularly memorable. Service was attentive and generally friendly. Overall, Fish Heads is one of the better dining options in the area. The pier setting and views really make the experience unique. I enjoy coming here and will likely be back.
