Came here for dinner on a Sunday with a larger group, and really, really enjoyed our time here! We must've hit a perfect lull as it was Mother's Day and we had run of the place to ourselves for a bit. The host was nice enough to give my friend a coloring mat and crayons (pictured), which we all ended up coloring in at one point. The menu has a lot for everyone! Many of my compatriots got the crispy chicken sandwich and the pastrami reuben and let me tell you, not an unhappy eater in the bunch. The reuben had smoked pastrami and was so tasty and the crispy chicken sandwich had this incredible sesame chili aioli that we asked for an extra bit of that sauce. YUM! I opted for a the Mediterranean Eggplant dish which was really tasty with the romesco sauce and lots of roasted seasonal vegetables. The portion was HUGE and super satisfying all the way down. Food was just ok. Definite must try are all their in house smoked meats. I tried the reuben with sauerkraut and it was pretty ok. Hints of smokiness and the sauerkraut added texture along with the toasty bread. Also had the sausage and for the price point ($23), it was a little bit of a let down. Service: 5/5 - Waitress was on point and definitely on it with our orders. She was great and receptive and the hostess/front door person was really accommodating. The staff brought crayons and games for my girlfriends nieces. Sorry for the crayon destruction if there was any. Overall decent food and had a upscale gastropub vibe to it. We were at Saugerties on a Tuesday where most restaurants were closed, We decided to eat at Dutch as it was open along with two other diners in town.We were aware that they are mostly an ale house and their menu ls limited. The Blue Burgers we had for $22 were dry underweight and overcooked definitely not worth the price. We were thankful that they were open and provided food. However the quality of a burger was far below acceptable. I hope they make some improvement. With two additional appetizers and one cocktail it was an overpriced experience. read more

While on a mini road trip in September of this year; with my daughter & her dad we found this place in what seemed to be the local town in the Catskills. Service was great with super friendly waitresses & waiters. The Food here was delicious, I say that with confidence Since we actually came here more than once. I shared the soup with my daughter while we waited for our actual meal. & it was the best I could have hoped for. FULL of flavor & satisfying. We also had the fish & chips, AMAZING. My husband and I visited on the evening of 9/20 to kick off our long weekend in the Catskills. We sat at the bar, and were planning on having dinner. The bartender was a 30 something tatted-up blonde woman who could not have been more unfriendly and indifferent towards us. Called ahead and asked for a booth away from it all (due to some health issues) and the woman I spoke with was very accommodating, and we were seated in the best spot possible! Had a fabulous meal, with wonderful service, and couldn't be happier. Sorry we're only passing through, as we'd both be happy to come back here again. I had the shrimp and grits, very generous serving with loads of shrimp and bacon and cauliflower, and very very good, and my husband had what he called 'the best Reuben he's ever had' (and that's one of his favorites to order out). Great place to visit and food was delicious. Vintage restaurant complete with brick interior and tin ceilings. Beside the great beers on tap we had wings, falafel burgers, German potato salad, and finished with the Dutch apple Cobbler pie. The coffee was delicious too. Overall: solid and creative food with decent staff and (if in-stock) good beer selections. To drink: all the options we wanted were out-of-stock so we ended up just sticking with water. Definitely a bummer. To eat: we got the pretzel - delicious, honey butter is so good butternut squash soup - would get again bacon cheese burger - they forgot the bacon, delivered it while mid-eating and it was both somehow chewy and burned? Service: out-of-stocks isn't a big deal and our server was nice enough. Charging us for the bacon we very clearly didn't eat wasn't the best but also not worth complaining over a small amount. This is such a cute place in Saugerties! We stopped by for lunch and was seated immediately. The restaurant put up barriers in between tables. We ordered the burger and Caesar salad. The burger comes with 2 patties, is served on a sesame bun, with your fixings and add ins. We added caramelized onions and comes with your choice of fries or salad. We chose fries. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! The Caesar salad is topped with white anchovies and tons of cheese. Everything was delicious and now I wish we lived closer. Went for dinner a few weeks ago. I'm still annoyed by the experience, so I'll post my comments. The service was pretty bad. The staff were very nice and friendly. Maybe they were short-staffed? Because they seemed frazzled and kept messing things up. Forgot our beverages. Forgot to clear our plates between courses, leaving the table so crowded we moved our dirty plates to a chair. Our salad was over dressed. Swimming in dressing. It was fresh - but too much sauce. We got the fried chicken sandwich with truffle fries. It was great. No complaints. But the brisket?? Ugh. We asked which was better - pulled pork or the brisket - and the waitress said definitely the brisket. It was such a disappointment. Overcooked, tough, and dry. No smoke flavor. They had to slice it paper thin and drown it in sauce to make it edible. It takes some real laziness to serve "barbecued" brisket that's this bad. I wouldn't eat the brisket again if they paid me to do it. read more

Ok I don't know if we just got them on a really bad night, or if we're just unlucky. We got there at 6:10 and still by 7:30 our food wasnt ready. No one came over to our table on their own to tell us our food was backed up. We had to call over three separate servers, and the last server gave us three different excuses: "we're backed up, we have new people working and its busy now." And yes, they were nice, but not responsible at all. Other people around us who ordered after us got their food. So idk what the heck happened. Oh and we never got waters to our table either. We ended up taking our food to go. The only upside was that they took care of the entire bill and the food wasn't gross. But wow what a horrible hungry night. One of the few places that Covid seems to have made better! Wine list was more limited by the glass than I remember but I get it. Charcuterie was big and awesome flavors. Crab dip was also quite large and delish. Their real highlight is their smoked meats. Brisket was on special...the rueben rocked, and the ribs are always great. We also tried the spaetzle which had mushrooms that were kind of like a bacon on top. And then there was the butterscotch pudding.. super service and reasonably priced. This is a neighborhood pub, and it's a good one. They've got solid burgers, good beers, massive sandwiches, tasty garlic parmesan fries, and they even make good salads and soups (the French Onion is a little sweet, but the best thing on a cold day). Doesn't sound that crazy, right? What sets this place apart is the people that run it. They are good-humored, hospitable people that actually care. They want you to feel welcome, they want you to have a good time, and although they might not be blowing anyone's mind, someone back there in the kitchen wants you to enjoy your food, too. Cozy pub/ale house feel on a quaint Main Street. Two sides to bar with seating in both. Menu is comfort food with some salads as well. I went for the homestead sandwich which had turkey, stuffing, mayo and a cranberry relish. Warm and served on tasty bread. A bit mush but that's the nature of the ingredients. Chose the salad with blue cheese as my side and that was fresh and tasty and ordered the pickle jar app. The pickle jar had pickles, carrots, cauliflower and I believe turnips in a tasty pickling apiece blend. Very light but a nice touch for $5. Nice beer selection with attentive wait staff and reasonable prices. They are known for their burgers but wasn't in the mood for beef. Has a bar feel so probably not super kid friendly on a weekend evening. Oh I almost forgot... GET THE FRENCH ONION SOUP! It's amazing and perfect on a cold winter night. read more
