I love this place. I recently moved away from the area but love coming here with old friends whenever I'm back. The portions are huge! Updated to add: Since writing my initial review below, just 24 hours ago, they have changed wing prices to $1/wing, 10 wings maximum, and the special only runs from 5-7. Really bummed about the change. I won't be changing the number of stars here but definitely will be visiting less frequently, as the time change and price jump doesn't work for me --------- If I could recommend one place in the Hudson valley for wings, it's the anchorage. They are SO good! Wing night is on Thursday and they are 75cents/wing with a max of 15 per person. The wings aren't small and lacking in meat like a lot of places and the flavor is incredible. This place is definitely off the beaten path (tucked inside of a boat marina) and parking is a bit small so I recommend carpooling if you can. Super relaxed and casual atmosphere. No frills or unnecessary add-ons. Just good food and a good time. Service can be a little slow, but that may be because we went on wing night. I'd say be prepared to spend a little time there. Definitely not a dine and dash. We didn't partake in the drinks but they have $5 margaritas and they looked delicious. If you love wings, you'll love this place read more

Pretty horrible experience menu was limited to 7 food items, when we orderd we got our food before we even got our drinks. The item I order came with flavorless fries and prepackaged apple sauce that came with....... A fork to eat it with. Granted I did ask for a spoon and was granted one very fast so props to the server. I have to say, when we go here it's like going to a friend's for dinner. There after so many dishes we love. My favorite is the Butternut squash ravioli, which finally made it to the regular menu. The chicken marsala is so delicious, what a great sauce. My favorite burger is the bacon jam burger. If you want your mom's meatloaf, order their's. My husband and go every Thursday for Wing Night. The wings are huge and you have a choice of 5 flavors. My husband always gets the hot wings. I love the Garlic wings. Tons of garlic butter and big chunks of fresh garlic. The also have the best French Onion soup of any local restaurant. The broth has such a rich deep flavor. Last night my husband tried the Rib Steak sandwich. Very flavorful and the meat was so tender! I am already looking forward to next Thursday night! read more

It also was practically tasteless. Good fries and average vegetable. My wife got shrimp Florentine. First of all, the shrimp were not de-veined. That is not acceptable. Don't bother.... it's just for locals is what I gathered from their attitude. When I got to the bar to order take-out, the bartender was swearing up a storm with a couple of customers at the bar. I ordered the shrimp florentine. When I opened it at home all I saw was shrimp & pasta. There was a sauce at the bottom, a few wisps of spinach, a few slices of mushroom & one cherry tomato. When I called & spoke with the owner today, she said it's made with a pan-full of spinach and 5 cherry tomatoes. I said mine definitely wasn't, and she said the tomatoes must have broken down. They didn't; they weren't there. She did not offer to make up for the meal. I called back to say I thought they owed me a meal, and the bartender said, most people would simply not go back to a place were they didn't like the food. I spoke with the owner again and said her bartender told me not to come back to her restaurant. Everyone had a bad atittude, from what I could tell. read more

Nice, off the beaten path near the marina, family friendly bar and restaurant. For starters we came in just before 6pm on a Friday and there were only a few others inside and outside eating, this quickly changed and it became busy. Staff was overwhelmed and this is why there are only 4 stars instead of 5. Appetizer was 10 gold rush wings, meaty and very tasty, slightly spicy sauce. Salads were fresh and and quality was good. I had the sea scallops in creamy bacon sauce with smashed potatoes and it was phenomenal! My wife had Julianne's pasta and this was also phenomenal! We did not even attempt Dessert due to a short staff and very busy conditions. Food was excellent and we will return, only recommendation I have is increase staffing to improve timely service. read more

Quiet and the food was very good. 3 stars because the waitress was as slow as molasses. Service was lousy. An hour wait for our food. Waitress never came to check on us. We took napkins off another table rather than wait for her to come and get us some. Paying the check took another half hour wait. It was like we were forgotten. We could have left and she wouldn't have noticed. We finally stood up to get her attention after trying to call her and being ignored. School Marm Waitress needs to either get another job or learn to waitress and acquire a personality. She must be used to working on the prairie. The Pony Express would have been quicker. If we had waited any longer I would have acquired a new 5 o'clock shadow even though I shaved before I left my house. The website also needs updating to reflect the current menu and prices. Ordered the hot honey garlic and gold rush wings. The hot honey garlic had way too much honey. They had a nice little spice kick on the back end but still overwhelmed with honey. The gold rush were fantastic. They were a honey mustard sauce concoction. The garlic fries were amazing!!!! Buffalo calamari was a bit chewy. Service was slow for a Tuesday night with not many people there. Seems like that is normal service being it is a local laid back place. $8.00 for 4 sodas seemed extreme. I was excited to try a new place for a change. We came on a Friday evening, the place was not busy. The bar had a normal amount of people. It took over 15 minutes to receive my drink from the bar. The waitress kept saying that the bartender was slammed. I've worked in the restaurant industry and the bartender was not slammed. Everything just took SOOO long, it was kind of annoying. The wings were good I must say. The calamari was rubbery. They needed to cook it longer. We would order additional drinks and it would take a long time to receive them. We were a table of 6 people and we went to dinner around 7:45 and did not get done until 1030. The food was mediocre. Most likely will not return. read more

It's been a while since I've been here but this time was outstanding! My mother her friend and I came here for dinner and it truly was a perfect meal. Our server Kathy was pleasant and attentive. We had gotten a fish fry (friday special) my mother loved the fresh fish and excellent tater sauce. The Turkey club which disappeared with a high satisfaction complimented on the fresh club roll, looked amazing from where I sat. I got the anchor burger..med rare..... my personal thank you to Julie and Ruth. My burger was not over cooked I can tell it was freshly prepared, green lettuce, nice thick fresh tomato, and crispy coleslaw (which I am picky about) and crispy sweet potato fries soooooo goooooood!
