This was a nice dining experience! We ordered fried chicken, biscuits, shrimp and grits, and burnt ends, Mac and cheese, and greens. We enjoyed it all. We were a group of 4 that walked in and were able to seated rather quickly. Our server gave us great insight on the menu items. The drinks were okay, but they used syrup instead of pure so I couldn't really taste the blackberry in my drink.

The Eagle receives the GOAT AWARD today!! After my Door Dasher failed to follow the directions provided in the notes/instructions I had to pick up my order. I ran out without shoes, not quite appropriately dressed and the staff (in the middle of rush), SHOUTOUT SYDNEY, ran my food out to me. This was absolutely so so kind. The food was amazing! It had been a bit since I had The Eagle and it was as good as I remember and then some!! I love the vibe of OTR but don't love the parking so this was an amazing compromise. Thank you so much for fabulous service & going the extra mile.

I've been wanting to try The Eagle for the past 3 years and finally had a chance to do so this past Sunday. It was everything I expected and more. We shared the homemade spoonbread which was tasty. Hubby had the shrimp and grits and I the quarter chicken dark with mac and cheese and collard greens. The chicken was absolutely amazing (not too greasy) and the accompanying spicy honey was drinkable! The collards were also delicious although a tad overcooked. I devoured their rich/creamy mac and cheese. The only thing lacking at The Eagle is a banana pudding or red velvet cake I'll be back for sure!

This place continues to be a treat every time I go even though I usually only end up going a couple of times per year. I do realize it is a chain but so far they have nailed all the prerequisites of what they need to be a successful chain in my opinion. Definitely recommended to get reservations the day before as I don't believe they take reservations the day of. Ambiance is friendly and warm and service has always been really good! The food is the big highlight though. The food here is just plain amazing. The main course of chicken to all of the side dishes they have. The spoon bread to the sweet potatoes to the mac and cheese, it's all good. It is definitely one of the big reasons we go there. Looking forward to coming back again soon! Bring a big appetite.

Okay, maybe it's because I'm from the South, but this "southern-style" restaurant just didn't really hit for me. It was packed on a Saturday night, so we opted to sit at the bar. Our bartender was really sweet and did a great job taking care of my family and answering all of our questions. We ordered a whole chicken and a fried chicken BLT with mac and cheese, biscuits, and fries. The sandwich... just wasn't fun at all. The chicken was dry and bland, and there was an off flavor that I think came from the bacon. My family was sharing the whole chicken, so I tried that too, and honestly, that was actually good. I definitely wish I had skipped the sandwich. The sides were all solid, but my favorite by far was the fries. Probably because they were herby and came with an aioli. The biscuits were a close second- you really can't go wrong with a warm biscuit and a generous layer of thick butter.

My wife and I were in Cincinnati for a long weekend and we had BBQ across the street from this establishment and it had a large line going out the door and we decided we had to try the next day. The trolley runs very close to this fried chicken mainstay and I walked into a packed place and we sat at the bar. There are some tvs along the wall that have sports on and a great beer list. I ordered and IPA and a fried chicken BLT sandwich that the bartender (Who was amazing) highly recommended. He was right! The sandwich came out quickly and the fried chicken patty was perfect and melded with the bacon and fresh tomato and greens. It was so good! I ordered another IPA and quickly was shown why this place is so busy. A must try.

Reservations must not mean anything to this place. We were seated nearly 30 minutes after our pre arranged reservation. I find this completely unnaceptable for an establishment of such high regard. HOWEVER, the manager at the time kindly gave our starters for free due to the long waits. Fortunately the food was excellent and exceeded previous expectations. If the service was better and the climate inside wasn't that of the Sahara desert in July, I would have gladly given 5 stars. Overall good food but could work on service.

Wow is this place good. I'm going to go in order of my experience that I had at the restaurant. So firstly, the service. I ordered a mocktail and a gentleman came and told me (so incredibly nicely) that they unfortunately didn't have the jam in the mocktail ready, which I was totally okay with, but momentarily came back with my drink!! I was so pleasantly surprised with the way I was approached about it as well as the drink itself. Now let's talk about the good stuff - the food. I got the hush puppies and omg were those fire. I also got the fried chicken sandwich. Don't even think twice about this one. Not too heavy and just the right amount of toppings. I know I said don't think twice about the sandwich but also don't think at all about the mac and cheese. Just get it. That'll all I'll say about that :) the southern chopped salad was also great. We weren't sure how we'd like the green beans and black eyed peas in it but all the elements complimented each other so well! I wish they had a restaurant in Florida because Cincy is a bit of a trek for me but for anyone in the area, DEFO check this place out. They also have more locations!

Haven't been here in a while and ordered takeout. Unfortunately I feel the quality has gone down. I got the chicken sandwich and it tasted unseasoned and bland. The redeeming factor was the biscuits. Those were amazing as ever.

I love going to dinner with friends at the Eagle OTR! Is the perfect place to have a picnic style dinner, and you know the quality of the food is going be great every time. When I go, I usually order dark meat for my chicken, then order a good amount of sides to share. I love the biscuits and surprisingly the sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top is great too. And if you know, you know, sweet potatoes and macaroni go together so well. When I think about the actual restaurant itself over all the times I've went the only bad thing I can say is sometimes there are long wait times. It's usually at night time and especially when there's an event going on. I'm not sure about the reservation policy if they take reservations or what but maybe that's something I can be more proactive about. Other than that, the staff is always great. It's a nice old Timey modern country feel. You can't really go wrong with the Eagle.

I have been wanting to try this place for so long after hearing people rave about it. I went in for lunch one day, and service was very good. Maybe I came on a bad day, but to me the chicken was very mid. It tasted like oil with not much seasoning. The spoon bread was very dry. The macaroni and cheese was the only dish I could say I enjoyed. I really want to come back and give this place another chance so hopefully this review can be fixed

Went to The Eagle at 3:30pm on a Saturday, expecting a mostly empty restaurant, but they were jumping! The decor was warm and cozy, maybe a little dated with the pallet wood ceiling. Our server was fantastic! Very friendly and he quickly went over the whole menu telling us what their most popular dishes and drinks were and what he recommended. My husband ordered the fried chicken with a side of mac & cheese. I had already eaten, so just got a small kale salad. He loved his chicken and I snuck a bite of his mac&cheese which was very good as well. My salad came dressed with a cider vinaigrette that was overly tart. The other ingredients were good but the dressing was so acidic, I couldn't eat much of the salad. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. I plan to go again and try a different dish.

Reservations highly recommended, as it is difficult getting a seat without one! But is it worth it. I made a 5:15pm reservation and was promptly seated upon arrival. Our server (I believe his name was Chandler??) brought drinks and helped with my menu questions. Lovely human! I went with the fried chicken breast sandwich, which I must say is one of the best I've ever had, and I am a chicken snob. The mayo that comes with the sandwich--get extra, so good! I also ordered the fries, and they were speckled with beautiful earthy green herbs and were accompanied by a marvelous aioli. My son went with the spicy chicken dip (comes with tortilla chips) and man, was it spicy!!! He loved it! I can't recommend this place enough. My only complaint was that we sat for a while before receiving beverage refills. 2 thumbs up and I will definitely be back! ;)

Edward was our server and he was fantastic. Not sure how to categorize this place but I'll go with southern food... can't really call It soul food. If you're going to get anything you have to get chicken. There's a couple of ways you can get It but I chose the fried chicken club. We split several sides including spoon bread (a must), sweet potatoes casserole (very sweet), Mac and cheese (not baked, soupy) and the lemonade is perfection. These are large portions so consider going and splitting things amongst each other so you can experience the menu read more

I really enjoyed going here to eat very affordable and amazing food some of the best food in Indianapolis. I will have to say I have been to both locations here in the one in Cincinnati. Also whenever my friends asked where to go eat I always recommend this place you can never go wrong, the food comes out pretty fast and servers are pretty nice and knowledgeable of the foods. If you go to the bar bartenders can give you good recommendations as well 10 out of 10 I would recommend. read more

Good, bad, an the ugly ! good, the food.. Bad some of the service.. and ugly some of the servers. I can't believe how condescending and rude, heartless and indecent some of them are. they let them rule the roost and go about putting people down the whole time they're there, it's disgusting. I can't exactly enjoy my good meal.. done at the very best attempt coming out of the kitchen. Sometimes it's wrong, but mostly great. The greens are worth going there alone. Avoid taking a date unless she likes brutality of egos. read more

We stopped in for some drinks after a Bengals game and found the place very inviting, almost a cozy vibe in here. There's a great beer selection on tap. We didn't eat so I can't comment any of the food but after looking at the menu I'm excited to get back soon and give something a try. Nice little diner. Has a very rustic but modern bar theme on the inside. Service was on top of everything and super friendly. The food was remarkable. I grew up in the south and no one could beat ma maw's fried chicken but this place done it with ease. Might be my favorite restaurant all time when it comes to being different and bringing the southern comfort food to glory. The hot honey is so damn good too. Must eat here! read more

Just as most Thunderdome Restaurant Group establishments, The Eagle has the cool, hip vibe with a good menu. I've always been told The Eagle is "okay", AKA nothing to write home about. I finally decided to try for myself over the weekend and I can confirm this statement. There was a 2 hour wait, which a wait was expected and we ended up only waiting 1 hour to get a table. I can say the very best thing about this place was the service. Our server, Nick, was so pleasant and kind. He checked on us periodically and seemed very genuine! The food itself was totally fine and reasonably priced. We started with the hush puppies, those were bomb!! I could have just had those as my meal and been happy. We split the fried chicken sandwich with a side of the macaroni and cheese and the spoon bread. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, probably better at least warm. The macaroni and cheese was a let down. After reading the reviews, I was expecting it to be one of the best but that wasn't the case. I am unsure what cheese they use but I wasn't a fan. Nevertheless, it was cheesy and creamy just bland. The spoon bread was also much more dry than my preference. It was sweet in flavor and still tasty but I do like it more moist, this was more legitimately like cornbread. The fresh squeezed lemonade is super refreshing, not too tart or too sweet. Definitely go for that (and make it a vodka lemonade ;)) I can say out of all the Thunderdome places (other than currito) this is the bottom on my list. It's a totally average meal but I wouldn't wait again for it. read more

I asked a couple people in the area what's a good place to eat and was told to check out the Eagle & to try their chicken sandwich. I thought I'd give it a shot and had their Chicken BLT, but with out the "B" since I don't eat pork. I must say it's not your average chicken sandwich. The chicken was flavorful, had the perfect crisp to it, and was tender on the inside. I was extremely happy with the recommendation & will definitely be back to try something else on the menu! We've been to The Eagle several times, and consistently get the same experience; the place is buzzing, the staff is courteous, food is just right for the price point and neighborhood vibe, and their house cocktails are unique and tasty. The menu for sure has a southern slant that is done right, where else are you going to get greens and cornbread with your fried chicken? Great for date nights or family special occasions. read more

Date of visit Dec. 11, 2020. 7PM Reservation. Thank you for being open during the pandemic. And thank you for taking precautions against COVID-19 by wearing masks, having customers wear masks, cleaning up, and socially distancing customers. It's truly appreciated. Now about the restaurant...I recommend the half chicken with cornbread! It was so good! And plenty for one person. Probably two. I had to take half of it home! The bacon was just OK. The service was impeccable! The servers were friendly and made sure we were taken care of. If I ever come back to Cincinnati, OH, I would definitely come here again ! read more

I'm so glad I finally got to try out this Cincinnati staple! We went in during the week for a late lunch. Our server was extremely pleasant even though the table next to ours was being very rude to her for no reason, so props to her! (I can't remember her name.) What I ordered: I wasn't hungry enough for a full meal so I got a beer, the Mac n cheese, and the spoon bread (corn bread). The Mac n cheese was delicious, but it was the spoon bread that really stood out! It was so moist and had maple syrup on top! It was amazing! It's sort of a more formal KFC. The Eagle seems to always be busy. It can be hard to get a seat, so hard that I have had my party seated with someone else's party in previous excursions. Like in the same booth with another party (and someone in that party spilled their drink on me, fun). I would strongly suggest reservations if you don't plan on just sitting at the bar for a bath, I mean, drink. The main attraction here is the Fried Chicken. Is it finger lickin' good? Well...it's good. They've also got a bevy of southern style sides like biscuits, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, coleslaw...any of this sound familiar? To Eagle's credit they step it up a notch with a scrummy Sweet Potato Crock, Succotash, and Brown Sugar Bacon - which is disappointingly not nearly as good as it sounds, but at least the Colonel can't say he's got that on his menu. But he does have sandwiches, and so does Eagle, again. Now if they only had Strawberry Parfait in a cup... read more

I'm telling you it's worth the wait. I'm not sure what they put on the chicken blt but whatever it is, it is life changing. They also have the coolest moscow mules, served in beer mugs. Have you ever gone out really hungry? Like really hungry?? Like so hungry that you needed high caloric sustenance! Rib sticking buttery creamy deep fried goodness? Well. This place is the destination for such sins! I have eat fried chicken at several famous restaurants. You may have head of Paula Deans in Savanna, Georgia. Well, this place is better!! This place has the most moist, spicy, sweet, crispy chicken you will ever sink your teeth into. The Mac and cheese is crazy cheesy and served on a cast iron plate. The sweet potato's are out of this world and actually can be a desert. The chicken bacon sandwich is filling enough to cause esophageal hemorrhage. This wasn't my favorite meal. I didn't hate it, but I am a pretty big sissy when it comes to spicy foods and almost everything I ate had some level of heat. Except for the sweet potatoes! The chicken was good but not my favorite recipe. It was spicy but had a sweetness in it as well. The sweet sauce that comes with it is SUPER SPICY!! So if you don't like spice, be careful! So the food and drinks were ok, but the service was AMAZING! Our server was very good. She took time to explain things on the menu and was prompt and kind. The atmosphere was pretty good too, but I am a shorter person and we were seated at a high top table and my feet dangled the entire time! (I hate that! Super uncomfortable!) Heard really good things about this place so wanted to check it out! The service was great - being our first time here, they explained the highlights of the menu and what the eagle is known for etc. Let me tell you - the mac n cheese is amazing!! there's a reason they have the best mac n cheese in the state!! So cheesy and filing!! It's definitely a must try. I definitely recommend everyone try there hush puppies at least once in their lives!! They definitely hit the spot - was not expecting to love them as much as we did! I got the fried chicken sandwich - crispy chicken and great sandwich!! Super filling!! My husband got the half fried chicken, his chicken actually wasn't as crispy as mine! Only thing we would've changed was to have some hotter and crispier chicken like the one I had in my sandwiches. We will definitely be coming back again though - definitely an amazing comfort food spot! Super consistent food and sides here - everything is exactly as I'd expect every time! The mac and cheese and sweet potatoes are the best sides. You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches, and all my vegetarian friends love the grilled cheese, so that's a plus! My recommendation is that it's better for larger groups- when you share sides with more ppl the price goes down. I'm always happy with my bill when it's 6+ people! Less happy when it's only 2-3. They also require your ENTIRE party to be there before they seat you- even if it's pouring rain, over 50% are there and some ppl are stuck waiting outside (they have a very small area to wait inside). Service was good and the location was nice; however, the food was meh and barely warm when it came out. I've frequented my local Eagle in Indianapolis and it tastes much better than this location. Not really sure why it differed so much but the food here was lackluster. It just didn't hit on all cylinders like what I'm used to having from The Eagle. Eating early and making our way back to Louisville was a great idea. The entire time we were there, no one else came in so we had the entire place to ourselves(It was a Friday). The atmosphere is homey but during busy times, I could see it being noisy. The booths could easily fit 6 people comfortably... probably 8 in some cases depending on how wide some of you are. Special Note: This place highlights The Parrillada Experience for Two on their menu and we wanted it! We didn't order it because at a price tag of 130-and pictures online, we didn't want it to be a failed outing. After our first trip, The Parrillada Exp will be on the agenda next time. We left around 1:30 and the restaurant was pretty full. It's popular and I know why. First, our server. Jennie was fantastic. She helped us with the menu, making sure we knew what the favorites were. This assistance was fantastic because there were about a gazillion options on the menu. We shared some Scallion Pancakes, which were quite tasty. Then the dumplings started to arrive. Here is where Corner Dumpling House lost their fifth star. Three bamboo boxes and one dish of dumplings were dropped off at the table. The gentleman who dropped them off didn't explain what anything was. As a result, we ate each other's food for a minute before we figured it all out. It didn't help that one serving of dumplings came out much later. We tried our best to identify which ones were what ended up being the missing dumplings. It would have gone a long way to have someone taken a minute to help us understand what was what. All that said, the food was outstanding. The Pork Wontons in Chili Oil were a standout and the Steamed Pork and Shrimp Soup Dumplings were also fantastic. The Triple Delight was just okay, but given how delicious the dumplings were, I couldn't subtract an another star for the mediocre Triple Delight. The restaurant is quite beautiful, which was a huge surprise given the restaurant is in a strip mall. Overall, our dining experience was relaxed and wonderful. If you like dumplings (house made/hand made dumplings) then get to Corner Dumpling House right away!

For drinks, we tried the Mokaccino Ferrero Rocher and their seasonal Arancia Nutella Latte. Everything was delicious and made for a great lunch. Definitely stop by and check them out for a unique café experience!

I know, I know...I'm in the minority here, maybe it was just an off night. We decided to venture down to OTR for our anniversary. It was on a Monday, which is pretty much the only reason why we were immediately seated. At first, they wanted to seat us at a 2-top right next to the door. Thankfully, they gave us another option, but it was at one of those community booths they do. They eventually sat another woman at the other side of the table. Weird, but it was OK I guess. It's not like the place is really intimate, nor were we expecting it to be. I got the OTR Iced Tea. It was potent, but went down smoothly. We opted for the brown sugar bacon as a starter. It came out quickly, so they must have it prepped, which is not a problem. However, it was barely room temp. almost cool. Maybe that's how it was served, but it was odd. The flavors were good, it was sticky sweet, a bit spicy and salty. I ordered the quarter chicken dark with the spoonbread and the famously touted mac & cheese. He opted for the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was definitely good (spicy honey yum), but I have had better. Maybe I'm a bit pedestrian, but I love Lee's Famous Recipe, spicy crispy. I have yet to find a place that beats them. So yes, I like fast food chicken, maybe it's a nostalgia thing. The spoon bread was good...sweet and spicy from the jalapenos. The mac & cheese everyone raves about was alright. It got cold really quickly, almost like it hadn't spent enough time in the oven/broiler. I had a couple of bites of my husband's sandwich and I actually liked it better than the straight chicken. And the fries were really, really good. I especially liked the aioli they served it with to dip in. I am not adverse to trying this place again, my friend absolutely loves the place and was very surprised I wasn't blown away. Spearheaded by Ex-Eagle and renowned casual chef Don Felder, The Eagle revolutionized the chicken industry with their patented eight step chop-shop inspired "Bathe Batter Break and Boil" method of Fried Chicken preparation. Now with four area locations including this flagship location situated in the historical Over The Rhine, The Eagle has a firm grip of dominance on Cincinnati foodie culture, and for good reason. Now down to business! Their regionally famous Blackened Butter Brew Pub Bacon Stuffed Green Bean Casserole Creole Chicken Cook Pot is a little expensive, but can feed a table of twelve. Twelve hungry boys. The Eagle is also one of the only restaurants in the Midwest to offer Deep Fried Eagle Wings, their specialty. Served with a bubbling hot Green Garlic infused Cream of Okra Bolognese, one order of Eagle Wings consists of three hand battered and breaded deep fried Eagle Wings (with Vegan Fryer option of course) served on a silver platter with a light garnish of seasonal farm to table veggies. Delicious! Delightful. Daring? Guy Ferrari better watch his back, there's a new Triple D in town. Casual attire preferred. The last two times I dined in I wore sweatpants and a Father John Misty tour t-shirt. The servers and bartenders all loved my t-shirt! I love the casual atmosphere. Love taking my shoes off! I fell asleep here on that first trip, the owner woke me up a little after they closed. Real nice of them to let me catch some Z's in there. I was zonked after a long day at work. I finally got around to visiting here last night. They have some of the best fried chicken you'll find anywhere. I had the 1/4 chicken, all white meat. Absolutely Delish!! I had noticed other reviewers talk about the spicy honey they serve and was curious about how this would be - it's the perfect accompaniment. My friend had the chopped salad with roasted chicken which looked great but he said it was a bit light on chicken. We shared sides of succotash and the sweet potato crock - both of which were really good. However, considering they say they're sharable sides, I felt the container of succotash was a bit on the small side. The seating here is just odd. They do have some tables for two but the rest is communal seating which, in my opinion is too communal. They wanted to seat us where we would have been sharing a booth & literally rubbing elbows with strangers. We requested an empty table for two and they did oblige. I noticed several instances where a table that seats 5 people had a party of 3 and another party of 2 was seated with them. I get that they're trying to make the best of the fairly small space they have but I think many find this type of seating arrangement awkward. They have a great variety of beers available but a fairly limited wine list. Service started out slow - we sat there with our menus for at least 10 minutes before ordering. It picked up after that though and she gave a great description of how the chicken is soaked in brine for 2 days, double dredged, etc. Despite the seating thing, I highly recommend this place and would return again. read more

We finally got a table on a weeknight with my kids and family. It was my mom's birthday, so we all met at the Eagle and were planning on walking over to Washington Park afterwards. I called ahead to make sure that it was friendly enough for little ones to come along and they assured me that it was fine. The host was really friendly and patient with our crazy boys. The atmosphere is typical of the OTR scene; fast, loud, crowded, busy. :) Which I tend to enjoy, but having our family with us wasn't the easiest. My husband and I have tried a handful of the new places in OTR and we were excited to be at the Eagle because everyone raves about their fried chicken. He ordered the whole chicken and I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. We all shared appetizers and side items. We all left thinking what is the hype about! I don't like to give a bland review of a popular place but the food was just ok. The best thing on their menu was the kale and artichoke dip. That was delicious. The mac n cheese was also really good. Everything else was just fine. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't awesome. In my opinion, you can get much better fried chicken from the Tousey House and you don't have to sit next to a complete stranger. Also, since when does food from the south have to be spicy??? I'm no stranger to eating things with a little heat, but does everything they make have to be spicy?? My husband grew up in New Orleans so we are used to having spicy foods. I just think that a few of their items would actually taste better if they weren't so spicy. read more

I would put The Eagle OTR as honeslty my go to spots in Cincinnati and recommend it for whoever is visiting. How can you go wrong with comfort food? Been here plenty of times, and my go to is usually fried chicken but this time around I wanted to try something new and it did not dissapoint. The fried chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. Pickles are a perfect combination with friend chicken and the coleslaw with spicy mayo just tops it off. Herb grilled chicken sandwich was a little bit on the dryer side but because it's not as thick as the fried chicken sandwich, you get to taste more of the topping that come with it, which is not bad thing. Mac and Cheese is the staple for The Eagle, it's a must get. Mash potatoes are very creamy with good flavor, don't be afraid if you don't like horseradish, as the flavor in the dish is very mild. Our server was fantastic. She was patience with us as we took our time ordering and enjoying the weather. Gave us some great recommendations for the beer as well to go along with our food. This time, we did sit outside, since they were pretty busy inside. On a busy day, don't be surprised by lots of cars passing by, with some blasting their music very loudly since it is on the busy street of OTR. read more

This place is awesome !!! The Food is excellent & there is no bad "Choice" !!! :) We had the chance to get down 3 weeks ago on a Friday for the first time & have been back 3 time's since. We have been for lunch once but we definitely prefer the night life :) We have recommended so many friends and family to come down & see what all the "Hype" is .Andre & I were there last night and had the best experience had the pleasure of meeting the " GM Rayshell " let her know she has a great establishment she was so kind and I let her know she has faithful customer's and will definitely be back again our waitress Sofie was great very attentive even though they were crazy busy !!! But she handled everything with ease recommended a drink for myself it was so good!! Like dessert I just can't say enough good thing's about this place !!! I had a really disappointing experience here due to the way the manager (short heavy set light skin black woman) handled a simple situation. My friend and I arrived and let them know we were waiting on a third person to join us. We were told we couldn't be seated at a table for three until the entire party was present, which I can understand as a policy. However, it wasn't the policy that was the issue -- it was the delivery. The manager was extremely rude and dismissive when explaining it. The tone felt unnecessary and unwelcoming, and instead of feeling like a valued guest, I felt uncomfortable and brushed off. A simple explanation with kindness would have made a big difference. Customer service sets the tone for the entire experience, and unfortunately, this interaction left a negative impression before we were even able to sit down. I hope management considers how important professionalism and courtesy are when communicating policies to guests. read more

There's only been a few times in my life where I have had a meal that was so delicious that I thought to myself "if I die in my sleep tonight, that was a perfect last meal." This place hit that mark. Their chicken is divine, plain and simple. The skin is so flavorful, the meat is so juicy, and they have to be doing some magic marination/brining as well. And then you drizzle their hot honey over it and you hit nirvana. To keep your tastebuds fresh get yourself some of their mindblowing mac and cheese and cornbread. Dont be shy, drizzle some of that honey on that cornbread too - you can make up for it with a salad tomorrow. On top of all of that the service was fantastic. We visited back during the summer in the middle of the pandemic and they were welcoming, accommodating, while at the same time creating a safe atmosphere. I will return to Cincinnati just to eat here again. What a wonderful experience! read more

My husband and I found this restaurant online via the Food Network website while visiting Cincinnati from Detroit. The Eagle OTR did NOT disappoint!!! We arrived to a packed restaurant and luckily found a spot at the bar. Zack our bartender was extremely helpful in guiding us to in our selection of draft beer. I told him the type of beer I liked and he offer suggestions and a sample. The Boulevard was perfect for me. I prefer a lighter beer with a nice finish. The food was really good. We started with the maple bacon appetizer - because you literally can not go wrong with bacon. Taking Zack's suggestion, my husband had the chicken club sandwich and I had the fried chicken. We shared the sides of mashed potatoes, slaw and greens. The atmosphere was exactly what you would want - yes it was packed and the noise level was high, but that made the vibe alive and energetic. read more

The food here is AMAZING! The service was also great! They offer family style sides, so it's so easy to share. We celebrated my fiance's birthday here and it was worth every penny. We ordered 1 whole chicken to split, and two sides, including the sweet potatoes and corn bread. All three dishes were to die for. The wait was up there, but we were willing to wait. The only downside is it is community seating, so you may end up sitting with strangers if you don't have a large party. We were seated at the bar, which normally we would just wait, but to be honest, the bar was fabulous! The beer selection is incredible! And the drink selection was great. Our bartender was great even in the mid-afternoon! I would highly suggest this place for any type of meal, whether it be a celebration or just a quick bite in OTR! read more

I've been there twice and I would say it's the only place where I can sacrifice hundreds of calories just to enjoy their hearty fried chicken meal. I am not a huge fan of fried chicken or spicy food but there's something about their kicking spicy honey sauce that goes so well with juicy fried chicken. May be because the chicken they buy is local, free range, all natural Amish chicken that lived a happier and healthier life and thus tastes much better? :) Their meals are great to share with friends or family because you can place an order of half or whole chicken plus get different sides. Now about their sides...their Mac n Cheese is dangerously good, Garlic Grits and Collard Greens were also delish! I'm a huge foodie and love all things savory, that said, The Eagle OTR is in my TOP 10 fave restaurants! The Fried Chicken is perfection, the sides are all great and easy to share, and their Chopped Salad is a crazy delicious salad!! I recommend getting fries and bacon as the appetizers to share, order large goblets of high life, and then split some chicken w/ spicy honey and gobble up sides together (especially the collards and grits). The prices are awesome and the service is super friendly!! I'm so in love, I bring friends and fam here for their birthdays and The Eagle has never disappointed! One of my favorite places to eat honestly. Good portions, great drink selection and really reasonably priced. The only challenge is when to go because there is usually a wait, or usually really long wait. I have had pretty much everything on the menu from the chicken, to the sandwiches, sides. The salads are amazing. Mac n' cheese is probably my favorite side. I went for brunch once and the bloody mary's were too spicy for me and they searched for 20 minutes to find me a can of clamato in the basement in order to make it more mild. I am never usually that high maintenance but I just can't tolerate many spicy things and their mix was pre made. They went above and beyond to accommodate me and I appreciated it very much. read more

The restaurant has a very cozy and inviting ambiance. We arrived early, around 6pm on a Wens, and snagged some seats at the bar. Ordered the bourbon barrel ale on tap- love this beer! Then moved onto the kale salad which was fantastic. Not your average/boring kale salad - had great bourbon soaked raisins, cornbread croutons and a delicious dressing. For mains we both ordered fried chicken that came with a great spicy honey dipping sauce. I opted for the 1/4 white meat which I thought was the perfect size. For sides we got the fries based on the bartenders recommendation. Very happy with everything we ordered! By the time we were finishing up, the restaurant was packed. I have to say I am a sucker for good comfort food and the Eagle does not disappoint! I ordered the fried chicken and a bunch of sides and was very satisfied. The chicken is perfectly moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I highly recommend using the sauce they provide as it adds a great layer of flavor to the chicken. Try out the sweet potatoes when you go in! I typically don't order these off of other restaurants' menus because I have been so disappointed in the past but this renewed my faith! My only complaint is that the wait to get a table can sometimes be too long but that is what you have to expect from such a great restaurant. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Love the Eagle! The chicken is fantastic, great flavor. Spoon bread, White cheddar cheese grits are awesome, sweet potatoes are also pretty good too. I am generally a fan of their mac and cheese, but the last time I visited, it was not very good at all. I asked the waiter to replace it with something else, she apologized and said that sometimes at the end of the night the heater sometimes gets turned off on the mac and cheese. She was very nice about it. Doesn't change my opinion of the place. I've also tried their herb fries, chicken sandwiches and Grilled cheese. Also very good alternatives. The chip with artichoke/spinach dip is pretty awesome to. Overall this place Rocks! read more

We were visiting Cincinnati for the first time and decided to explore Findlay Market. While there, we stumbled upon The Eagle for lunch. The wait for a table for two was long, so we opted to sit at the bar and were glad we did. Our bartender was incredibly nice and helpful, constantly checking in on us, offering suggestions for places to visit, and creating an overall positive atmosphere. Unfortunately, I can't recall his name as it was some time ago, but he truly made our day. The food was delicious, especially their specialty fried chicken and the pimento cheese appetizer. This had been our first time coming to the eagle. We loved it so much that we already planned when we'll be coming back! The atmosphere was so neat, definitely one of a kind. We had a good view of the whole restaurant from where we were sitting. We took notice of how well they were cleaning. As soon as people were leaving they immediately cleaned up after them, which these days it's so comforting to see! Our server was Kayla, she was sweet. What can I say but wow! The food (namely the chicken) was incredible. I absolutely loved the Sweet Potato Crock as well. I ordered the OTR iced tea and It was phenomenal. I'm normally not a hard iced tea fan, but this was bomb. I was a little nervous when we first started because our waiter dumped by water all over my lap, but he immediately cleaned it up and got the owner and gave us two free appetizers. You could tell he felt absolutely terrible. I've had my drink spilled on me before, but never had such a great response from the staff.
