My team and I were very happy with the selection. Let me say this, Maya (waitress) was the best server I have had in a long time. We had a table of 7, and she remembered everything, and that includes all of our names! She was awesome! I had two Filthy Martinis (w/ stuffed Olives), and they were great. Olives were stuffed with a pimento, blue cheese, and a hot pepper. So tasty. For dinner, I had the 16 oz prime rib, medium rare, with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. Very, very good and very happy with my choice. Finally, the desert saw my co-worker order the snicker doodle cheesecake. I only had a few bites, but it was really good. Yep it's us again! Mi Amor and I ended up here randomly Tuesday night as we were struggling to find something to eat at 9 pm. We ended up with a random date night and wanted to take advantage! I will say my first impression when I walked into the Hyatt was to walk right back out the door. This was our first time to The Eagle and the lady behind the front desk of the Hyatt was rude! It was as like pulling teeth for ME to find out 1. Where I could park my car 2. If The Eagle was still open and 3. How do I get there, thankfully another guy came from out the back and totally changed the vibe! I wish I knew his name because he DEFINITELY kept us from leaving. Anyways we told the elevator up the top and was greeted by a sad, grumpy host. And I use those words as a description because he acted as if WE were bothering him coming to dinner. He sat us at a table and told us Renee would be around to take our drink order, he also told us we had until 10:30 pm and then would need to leave (keep in mind it was 9:10 pm). I said ok, is the kitchen slow or something because we're just here to eat not linger around. We sit down start enjoying the view (it's super cool and it moves! Who knew!!!?? Again we came here on a whim bc they were open we did NO prior research). After about 5-10 min Renee pops up, and seems surprised to see us; I'm not sure she even knew we there (thanks host!) We give her our full order because we have plenty of time to get it together since we had been waiting. Renee was awesome! The moment she came around the entire experience changed! She definitely changed our opinion of the place. We both ordered the tamarind Salmon and I added on the truffle Mac and cheese as well. It was amazing! It was so flavorful and the salmon is cooked to the way you like :) There was also this caramel walnut bread!!! Holy shit it's amazing! They bring it in from a bakery in Chicago and it is worth the delivery! We were sad they ran out. Renee joked it's the reason people have take out boxes and I can believe it. A complete and utter Mother's Day fail. My wife made the reservation for seven people, by phone, with a person, weeks ago. We get there and they cannot accommodate us. The only tables large enough were taken, despite a time limit also being noted on our website. We're told we will have to wait 30 minutes, possibly longer. We are the only ones in the waiting area. They try to seat us at a 6-top, but they don't have a seventh chair of the right size. We try, but one chair is much too high, the other much too low. At this point, it's already nearly 30 minutes past our reservation time. We are told that our options are to go back to the waiting area and wait, or cancel the reservation. Nothing else offered except apologies. This was not an issue of nothing else available in the area. Several reservations at comparable restaurants were available for immediate seating. We made a reservation at one of them and are having a much nicer time there. I understand being busy and likely short staffed on a holiday. I understand that there were few tables available for a party of our size. But if you cannot accommodate a reservation, don't accept it. read more

This is a staple in Indianapolis and I am surprised that I have not been more than once. We made dinner reservations right before the sunset so we could get the best show. They do have a parking garage or you can find street parking if you're lucky! I am happy with our over all experience. I will say that we arrived early for our dinner reservation and we did end up waiting about 30 minutes after our scheduled time. The service was great and very attentive. They do start you off with complementary bread while we waited for our appetizer. Of course we ordered the baked brie that is wrapped in puff pastry and topped with a berry compote (5/5). For our entrees we ordered the Filet w/ garlic mash, seasonal mushrooms, and asparagus (3/5) & the Prime NY Strip (3/5). The steak was cooked perfectly and they do give you a nice amount of sides with your entree. One complaint that I do have is they will not let you sub a side. We finished the meal with the Vanilla Bean Creme Brûlée (3/5). I do wish the caramelized top was a little bit thicker so you get that nice "crunch" when you dig in. read more

Let's begin with the awesome view! Located high above the city in the beautiful Hyatt hotel. We started with a window view of the city and we ordered the bacon appetizer. The bacon was approximately 10 inches for each strip, u got 2, it was extremely to fatty for me. If I were to order this again I would definitely say to make it crispy and add some syrup or some other savory sauce on the side. The sauce that came with it was more of a bbq/cocktail sauce which in my opinion wasn't that great. The bread basket was just that, bread and butter. Nothing special. The salads were delicious. Served in a huge bowl so it looked small but it was just the right size! On to the steaks, I ordered a filet, 8oz and it comes with garlic mash potatoes, mushrooms and asparagus. I skipped the mushrooms and asparagus for double mash since no French fries were available;( One of the pluses is that the steaks came with sides and was not a-la-cart like alot of steak restaurants. They need more options though. What steak place doesn't have french fries;( My steak definitely was lacking in flavor, no seasoning at all. My husband ordered the 16oz herb crusted prime rib, he said you could really taste the seasoning. They had raw horseradish upon request. The staff was attentive and friendly. We celebrated my sister's birthday at the Eagle's Nest to have a special evening in a restaurant we wouldn't normally go to. The views were absolutely incredible and we loved getting to see every angle of Indianapolis. I had a mojito, which was recommended to me by our waiter. It was delicious! I would definitely have it again. We split several appetizers; the server warned us that they mostly serve about 2 people, which we found to be true. The shrimp cocktail was wonderful in flavor ($23 for four shrimp). I absolutely adored my seafood chowder -- you could tell that it did have a large amount of seafood in it as well. The hummus was also delicious and the beef bulgogi was excellent. I realize that they probably get many, many special occasions here (as it is quite pricey for a casual evening out) but they did not address the fact that we were celebrating a birthday. read more

Eagle's nest is a one of its kind restaurant. You'll be hard pressed to find a place that offers such an incredible view of Indianapolis, incredibly generous portions, at an actually affordable price. The view is absurd, the entire restaurant rotates around 360 every hour. Slow enough you won't feel it but if you pay attention you can see the floor rotating at a slow consistent pace. The Lucas oil stadium, the Indiana state government center, and a vast view of Indiana are all visible. I don't think you'll find a better view anywhere else. The food was also incredible. I feared that the portion size was going to be small. But i was happily proven wrong when the giant "short" rib glazed in berry sauce was served! They also offer a berry baked bread and butter that will be sure to satisfy any craving before the entree. Expect to spend $60 per person ( you'll be stuffed!) . This is one of the few high end restaurants I'll consider coming back; the view, the food, the attention, I don't think you'll find a better priced location for a fancy dinner night. read more

Ambiance: Came here for family gathering and had an enjoyable experience. They have a business casual no-jeans dress code to curate a fine dining experience. The restaurant itself is a little bare and shows some signs of aging in the paint and carpet but hopefully you're coming here to enjoy the rotating panoramic city view. The rotation is pretty gradual and not noticeable unless you're looking directly at a fixed point like the window sill or restaurant, we had a few people who tend to be prone to queasiness with rides/video games/etc and they all seemed to do fine if that's a concern. The seats are very comfy and the tables well-spaced to create a nice intimate atmosphere. Service was excellent and our waiter went the extra mile learning our names and slipping in jokes through the service. Food: We started with the crab cake and tuna poke appetizers which split perfectly between 2 people. The crab cakes had huge chunks of lump crab with a mild kimchi aioli that added just the right amount of spice and acid to lighten the dish. My favorite was the poke which had a tasty combo of creamy avocado, crisp cucumber, and high-quality tuna served in a savory soy dressing. We spooned it onto crispy wonton chips which brought all the wonderful textures together. Multiple people at our table wished we could have a giant bowl of poke as our main dish so I would definitely recommend trying it. For our mains, we had the 16 oz prime rib, a side of truffle mac, and the chipotle-tamarind glazed salmon which were all solid. The prime rib was the stronger dish with a delectable salty-herby crust and savory au jus for dipping. It was perfectly medium rare as we requested. The creamy mash potatoes had a great garlicky flavor and the asparagus was cooked perfectly. The salmon seemed a little skimpy portion-wise but the glaze complemented the savory salmon and ancient grains very well, we just wished there was more of it. We did finish with the pineapple rum cake and figgy pudding which were quite good. The rum cake could use a larger pineapple slice but had a angel food cake texture which was waay better than the box yellow cake flavor you typically see. When people think of Eagles Nest, I think they fear being ripped off for the gimmick of a novel view and in some ways they are justified. I think you ARE up-charged for the view and have to a la cart order an app/salad, side, and dessert/cocktail to round out the meal but the food itself is actually well-executed. We didn't have a single thing we didn't like, we just wished there was more for the price. For 2 cocktails, apps, mains, dessert and 20% gratuity, we paid about $130 per person. You can have 5 course tasting menus that are more creative and mind-blowing at this price point but setting value aside, the experience here is still worthwhile. Not top of my list but a solid fine dining option you might want to try at least once. read more

The rotating mechanism was broken so the restaurant didn't rotate. They didn't tell us that until they sat us for our reservation. The view was therefore terrible and the service was slow. Our appetizer came the same time as our entree. We asked for our waiter to take a photo for our anniversary but he disappeared and only came back to pick up the check. My husband put in a lot of time and effort into planning a special dinner and it was no better than a typical night at Applebees. Don't waste your time or money. Yesterday was my first time visiting The Eagle's Nest and let me just say, the view is amazing! The sitting area does gently rotate so that you can enjoy a 360 degree view. My best friend turned 30 and she specifically chose this place because she had heard that their cold water lobster tail is phenomenal and can be added to any entree for an additional charge. Unfortunately, we learned that they did not receive a large enough shipment and would be unable to serve any lobster. That was disappointing. Nonetheless she chose an alternate option and we placed our orders. There were a total of 6 of us at dinner. Two of the members of our dinner party were vegetarian so they were limited on their options but they both have been there several times and spoke highly of the almond butter rice noodles. Unfortunately, they were let down this time around. The flavors that they were boasting about were absent last night. They both stated that the dish usually has a brownish tint to it due to the sauce but there was no sauce and seemingly no seasoning. They both asked for a extra side of sauce. One of the two said it improved the dish but was overall left disappointed. The other was still completely dissatisfied and ultimately sent the dish back. As far as customer service, it was just okay which was another slight let down. Our waitress was very nice but her visits to the table were honestly so far apart that on several occasions we had to ask other waiters passing by to grab her for us. On a brighter note, our party was very pleased with the Truffle Mac and cheese, Shrimp cargot, Shrimp cocktail, Chowder, Salmon, and Shrimp bulgogi. So, if you are thinking about visiting then these may be a few solid options. Would I visit again? Ehh maybe if I was attending another dinner for a friend but it didn't leave enough of an impression on me where I would want to come back to bring my husband or other family/friends. Went to a birthday dinner for my friend at the Eagles Nest and I was not thrilled with the service here. I came here for my birthday back in July and had such an amazing experience from the greeting to our waitress to our main course. However, the service for my friends birthday dinner was sub par. Our waitress's name was Renee and she was sweet, however we could definitely sense a bit of hostility/ snippiness. We had a group of 6 and we understand for a group that size, there will automatically be a service charge to all of our bills, that being said we should be treated like any other group. She seemed annoyed that we were asking questions about wine recommendations that would be sweet and responded in a very condescending manner. Since it was our friends birthday, I decided to switch seats with her so that the birthday girl would have a better view, close to the window. When Rene came back she made it known that she was confused with the seat change and how that has affected the order of seat placement. She said "you guys decided to play musical chairs", We have all worked in the restaurant industry so we understand there are seat numbers however it was not a huge change/issue. Lastly, after we had finished our meal which was delicious, I had asked for the checks. She came back with 1 check and I apologized if i wasn't clear enough but I had said we are actually all paying separately. She had responded "it would be easier if its all on one check, if i separate the checks it will take longer because of your little seat change" we responded with "thats fine we can wait", but we didn't appreciate that she was so upset about the seat change because it wasn't a huge issue swapping spots with the bday girl. Plus, automatically assuming that 1 person will take care of all 6 bills was a tad annoying. Its not hard to separate the checks, once again we have all been waitresses before so just print each out and distribute them. Second time here. Came for our Valentine's Day and it was decorated nicely for the occasion. That was a nice touch. I ordered the prime rib, same as the first time I went. It wasn't as good as my first experience and it was very fatty and under seasoned. Definitely got some use out of the salt and pepper shakers on the table. It came with Brussel sprouts and a scoop of mash. The mash was delicious but the sprouts, were hard and under seasoned. Bring that salt and shaker back out baby! The seafood chowder was to die for. I squeeze a little lemon juice in the bowl and it took it to a new level of tasty. The shrimp cargot was as great as it usually is. Will never pass on ordering that from the menu. I went here today 05/11/24 and the service, food, and view were spectacular! Our server Renee was very sweet and friendly. There were 3 servers always refilling our water, taking our plates, & checking up on us if we needed anything. The food was delicious although for people who don't like strong tastes (like blue cheese) don't get the chopped salad. The server admitted that the New York strip is dry so do not recommend. I saw some reviews about the service being slow but I believe it's only because of how busy it is. GET A RESERVATION!! If it weren't for that we would've been waiting forever! We had dinner at Eagle's Nest this week. The ambiance was very nice and the Indy view was interesting for our out of town guests. The food was plentiful, so much so that I couldn't even eat the entree, having filled up with the soup appetizer. The server asked if I'd like a box and I said yes. I never got the box or my uneaten dinner. My untouched $60 dinner "disappeared" and even though I asked our waiter for it the mystery was never solved nor did anyone seem very interested in helping. I followed up with the restaurant later but could not reach a real person via phone at the restaurant and no one responded to my written request. We will not be back. read more

It was seasoned very well and super juicy! this was my first time eating prime rib and it was very fatty, too much fat for my liking, I had to cut around the fat. So next time I visit I will be ordering a different cut of meat. to drink I had the crown apple sour that was topped off with Merlot. I love a good Merlot so I had to try this and it wasn't that sweet even with the sour mix, the Merlot balanced it out once you order they do provide you with bread and butter which I love but you gotta remember not to get full off the bread lol this was a perfect place for any occasion. I made dinner reservations for Valentines Day. There was little to no wait to be seated. The bread was okay, and the shrimp cocktail was on point as long as I mixed enough horseradish. I didn't have a cocktail, because I didn't want to get sleepy. I had them make me a strawberry lemonade, which was tasty. My meal was good and the best part of it was the mushrooms. Food was great, and the views were fantastic. This is a really cool spot because the room spins very slowly (almost unnoticeably) and you get to see all of Indianapolis as the hour passes. Very pretty at night, you can see for miles. Heads up, the inner circle turns as well, so the bathroom will be on the move! We had a large group which the staff accommodated well at multiple tables. Sadly, they don't have larger tables than 6. We were started off with delicious warm bread rolls, soft butter, and some really nice cocktails! Everyone really enjoyed their food and many were raving about the seafood chowder which I highly recommend (photo posted). I didn't get a picture of the filet mignon but those who ordered that really enjoyed it as well. Many happy plates! My one complaint was inability to split the check, but I understand the trouble with a group of 12. Came to this place because of a recommendation from a friend. Ambiance alone would deserve a 5/5. However, my prime rib was incredibly salty, as well as my mule was too gingery (spicy in the throat). Food just seemed "lackluster", especially for the price tag associated with it. I will say though, the raspberry mojito was easily the best mojito I've ever had. Our server Alex did an amazing job, as did all the other waitstaff that helped us have an enjoyable birthday celebration. Overall a great dinner and a fun time with great views!
