We showed up early, just after 9 AM, a couple out-of-towners passing through after spending the night at a local RV park and looking for coffee and grub before hitting the road. We didn't realize this isn't really a breakfast joint, it's more like a lunch spot with some brunch options. The staff was so friendly though, they literally said "we're not quite open but we hate to turn you away," and the cook asked us what we'd like, off the menu, and said he'd make it for us. We ordered some scrambled eggs with biscuits and the seasoning was good. They also brewed some fresh coffee for us, which was pretty basic/standard, but we really appreciated how they accommodated and took care of us. We went to lunch at the Eatery today in our hometown of Fillmore, Utah. I was so impressed with the food, the service and the atmosphere! It was wonderful to have a great meal and a great selection of food and not even have to leave town. I would definitely recommend this place. This is the perfect half way stop for my friends and relatives on their way from SLC to St. George or Mesquite, NV. The decor is so over the top! The Pub is darling too! We were so pleased to find this little treasure of an eating place in Fillmore, Utah! The salad plate we ordered was delicious...strawberries, blueberries, lettuce, avocado, red onion, feta cheese, grilled chicken, and a lovely blackberry vinaigrette to top it all off. Trying to support a local establishment while in the middle of a 5 hour drive, my family stopped here for lunch on a Sunday at 1. At 2:10 we finally had our food. I don't recommend coming here unless you like paying a premium price for what can best be described as disappointing fast food while waiting an eternity for it. They were not busy. There was a six top that got their food before us and a two top and that was it to say we were disappointed and frustrated is an understatement. We mentioned it to the server and she said that sometimes a restaurants busy but doesn't look busy because of to go orders, which, felt like lame reason. She also said they have a tiny grill. This is a cute, old-fashioned little "hole in the wall" in Fillmore that offers friendly service and delicious food. We had a bison burger with their special sauce, and a turkey & bacon sandwich, and both came with ample fries/ spirals (both yummy in different ways) and fry sauce. Very disappointing. I had the country fried steak. It was served on an egg carton textured paper plate with plastic fork and knife. The mashed potatoes were cold and topped with a different kind of gravy than the steak. My husband had the pork chops, on a real plate. It had several tiny bone chips! The waitress was nice, and embarrassed. The lemonade had artificial sweetener taste - didn't drink it. It's a cute little place, and tasty, too bad they couldn't make more of an effort. This is a treasure! The atmosphere is old cafe style, 45's hanging from ceiling, oldies playing in the background. Everything about it was quaint! Loved it! The food was delicious! Their fresh cut fries are indeed that--Fresh! Served with fry sauce. I had their special for the day--fish sandwich with fresh cut fries. It was a nice size! So much that I had to use a fork and knife. Which is not a problem! My husband had the Malibu chicken sandwich and had it devoured right away. He also had a salad from their salad bar--everything was fresh! The service was wonderful! I wish that I had gotten our waitress' name. She was attentive. Friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place to sit and enjoy a meal in Fillmore Utah this is the place! The decor is 50's diner and is clean and bright. Biscuits and gravy served all day and they taste great.
