Don't order togo food!!! we ordered 8 lunches today and only half were correct. the chips were so overly seasoned that you could not eat. the one meal that was supposed to have seasoned chips had fries. 2 philly cheese steaks came as chicken with one was supposed to be no mushrooms with mushrooms everywhere. We were missing a lunch and it was a build your own sandwich but when we went back to get it there was no cheese, no tomato and very little chicken salad mainly all lettuce. The carnitas were all fatty with only 1 having the raspberry drizzle as a dot on bottom of tortilla and no flavor at all. read more

At the time we visited we were new to the area and had heard so many good reviews of this place so we decided to try it. Went and I ordered the meatloaf they had and my husband a steak. Tzzerrible, these happened to be the second worse chicken and waffles I've had in my life (first was some place in Seattle, I'm sure you can see other reviews of made) but Jesus, these were awful. I pretty much could copy and paste my review from the Seattle place. The chicken... lord the chicken.. who in their right mind taste tested the chicken and agreed with whomever came up with the recipe. I placed an online order for pickup. When I got there and waited at the bar as the directions said to all of the staff walked by continuously without even a greeting. There was someone else waiting before me and after a few minutes she was helped by one of the waitresses and after she was done the waitress went on to do something else. Another few minutes go by and another customer walked up to the bar and the same waitress that helped the previous customer went over to help her as if I wasn't standing there. I walked closer to where the other customer was standing and after she was helped I finally received some service. Now onto the food. I ordered the steak and scrambled eggs with cheese and honestly I've had better from Denny's. The eggs barely had any cheese and were kinda runny. The steak was dry and didn't have any flavor. Literally one of the best restaurants in Chesapeake. Obviously there isn't much competition for non ultra-chain, cookie-cutter eateries but Broken Egg has been tops for a long time. Some of the best spicy bloody marys in all of the HR at both locations. The food is fantastic and I absolutely love the huge chunks of jalapeno in the omelets. I've never had a bad meal over the years but It can be busy (don't even bother going after the church herd starts migration on sundays) so just kick back, enjoy your company and order another bloody mary. Went for dinner on a an early Wednesday evening (about 5pm) with 6 of my girlfriends. The server was very friendly and prompt with taking drink orders as each of my friends came in. I ordered the crab cake sandwich. I was not impressed. It was very salty and even adding tartar sauce didn't tone it down. One of my friends ordered the same and hers was very dry that the cocktail sauce couldn't salvage it. Another friend ordered the stuffed pork chops. All it was were 2 skinny chops, over crispy, sandwiching the filling. It was not what she expected, nor was she happy about it. The other dishes were ok, according to my other friends: goat cheese salad, calamari, and veggie lasagna. Fabulous! Had to wait to get a seat even at the bar at 9 am on a Saturday. Hostess looked and acted like she was 12. Coffee is so delicious I could drink it black and I'm a cream and sugar girl. They have their own private roast you can purchase from them if you want it for home. Had the breakfast BLT with shredded hash browns. Very good! Large servings. One of my favorite restaurants in Chesapeake! You can't go wrong with any of their breakfast items. One of my favorite dishes is The Intracoastal omelet - it's loaded with your choice of cheese and crab meat. If you're in the mood for a lunch item, I highly recommend the Great Bridge sandwich - chicken breast, roasted red pepper, avocado, havarti, sprouts on focaccia bread. Tried one of their burgers once and didn't like it. Burger seemed a bit dry. Overall, breakfast is awesome and sandwiches are good too! read more

Absolutely amazing service! They stay busy (especially weekend breakfast hours) but everyone is so courteous and the food is definitely worth the wait. Their French toast is the best I have ever had. It's so fluffy and made w/ cinnamon swirl bread and it melts in your mouth. You also have to try their bread pudding. It's a different take on it but it's so yummy. We've always had pretty good service and good food. I understand there are hiccups. We ordered breakfast at 8:30. The site said we would get a notification at 9:08 when it was ready to be picked up. Not a problem. 8:53 received notification it was ready for pick up. My husband went to pick it up. It was not ready. He checked several times between 9-9:30 it was finally ready at 9:40. He got home at 9:43 everything was cold and soggy. Needless to say a big waste of money. They need to work on their online order system to reflect more accurately. read more

We arrived at 10.08 for a table of 6. I understand it's Covid and that it was a busy day here. When I approached the host she was extremely nice, but said the time would be about 35 minutes. 40 minutes later we checked and were told they had to seat one more table before us. 10 minutes later and 4 more tables sat we approached again and were told they only have two tables and were both just sat. At this point it's been an hour. I think this is extremely upsetting because if they were honest at the beginning we would have just gone somewhere else. Please be honest with your guest. Fairly large selection of breakfast items, and they offer some pretty good dinner specials, as well as a decent selection of craft beer / wine. From her friendly greeting to her constant attention and all the things in between....Bennie and the Grits was on tap for me and I simply asked for onions in my shredded hash sides....upon her advice I added peppers, mushrooms and cheese to make sincerely a divine breakfast. From the beginning she was so attentive, energetic and helpful helping us navigate through the menu! We ordered the a avocado toast, and the sandbridge omelette with feta instead of mozzarella. For drinks we ordered the jolly rancher mimosa and the Mary in the morning. We were amazedddddd!!!! Flavor wise the food was amazing !!!! The drinks were also perfect ! It is very rare that we enjoy food, service, and drinks at a restaurant but I must say that the egg bistro covered it all !!!
