I went months ago when my car was getting an oil change up the street. Breakfast options were great, the wait wasn't too long & the portion size was HUGE! Food was great & worth what I paid. I even had some left over for lunch! I told some friends about it and suggested going for a late lunch one weekend and it was packed with a line going out the door. The owner knows nothing about customer service. We're not eating carbs and ordered omelets. The cost of a side of breakfast potatoes plus a side of toast on his menu is more than the cost of a side of bacon, or avocado, or fruit alone, but this guy would not let his waistaff substitute the one of the sides we wanted for the two we didn't want. If we wanted a different side, we had to pay full price for it and pay for the toast and potatoes we weren't going to have. Poor business practice IMHO. I've been doing what I can to support small business, and this place was a hidden gem. Came in for brunch, and we were happy to see that they were busy! The service was great and fast. We ordered the eggs Benedict with crispy hash browns which were very crispy and perfect, only complaint was the hollidase sauce was bland. The egg skillet, hash brown and steak topped off with green chili and over easy eggs was amazing. And I am super picky with my green chili- and let me tell you every bite just hit perfectly. Really not much more you can ask for from The Egg. A solid diner in the suburbs of Highlands Ranch with the typical large breakfast menu, and comfort foods like roast beef, pork chops, and chicken fried steak served for dinner. My family and boyfriend and I came in for breakfast on a Tuesday. I ordered the Meatlover's Omelette which comes with hash browns and your choice of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, French toast and regular toast all for $8.95- that's a damn good deal. The omelette was large and each bite filed with bacon, sausage, ham and cheese. The French toast was just as big - almost as if it was an order all it's own. Everything delicious and hearty. My Mom ordered the Florentine Omelette (ham, onions, tomato, mushrooms, spinach and Swiss cheese smothered with hollandaise sauce) which she enjoyed. My Dad ordered the Spanish Skillet Special which was written on the chalkboard near the kitchen window. He loved this - pretty sure there was chorizo in there, peppers, some other spicy Spanish ingredients underneath two over medium eggs. My boyfriend ordered The Egg Burger with fries - he's a sucker for a burger made even messier by a fried egg. No complaints from anyone at our table. Great food and even better service at The Egg. There was actually an elderly gentleman directly behind our table and my boyfriend pointed out being blinded by his two Super Bowl rings. I found this little gem while hunting for a good breakfast place while my car was getting serviced near by. When I walked in with the hubby and kiddo, the place was packed and had only one or two tables available. I was worried that would slow down the service or have the food be not as enjoyable.
