No one is talking about street parking. I parked directly across the street on the weekend for free. I never moved my van. BUT... When I walked outside to get a bag in the morning , there was a busted windshield on the ground. I was so scared . Like , "please God No ! ". Thank goodness it was not my windshield . Park at your own risk and there is a $40 parking fee through the hotel. Secondly, my shower has this glass privacy screen so the neighbors can't see my hot body BUT ..... If I stood at the sink anyone on the balcony could see me if they wanted to. Kinda creepy right ? The room is like a 1 bedroom apartment with dishes, stove, and fridge. Booked a hotel for the 4th of July for my husband (who is on deployment) and I. Attempted to cancel my reservation roughly an hour after I booked it because after I got off the phone with my husband he said he'd likely be extended past the 4th of July on his Deployment now. Called the hotel to request a refund and they said they don't do refunds regardless of the circumstance for my type of reservation. They suggested if my husband can't join I just bring another person for the 4th. Not exactly compassionate. read more

I accidentally booked for the wrong night and the hotel refused to give me any type of refund. They simply tried to blame it on Expedia keeping my money not them but then ignored Expedia for two days as they tried to get a refund for me. The sad part is that they tried in no way to accommodate me. The front desk girl was very young and unprofessional. They will now book the same room again and make an additional $300 for the night. Sad and I would not recommend. I know it's my fault for booking the wrong night but to just keep my money and be bluntly rude blaming it on Expedia to get rid of me while lying is not good business. read more

They lock you out early and throw away the key! The sign at the front door says that the door locks at midnight, but we were locked out before 10:50pm with no way to use our room key to enter the building. We rang the front desk doorbell numerous times but no response. Also the 11pm night manager called the front desk multiple times but stated that "he must be helping a guest." We all waited and waited until thankfully another hotel guest walked out and unlocked the door for us. We were denied entry to the hotel and rooms that we paid for except for the kind actions of another hotel guest. I looked to the front desk only to find the hotel manager sleeping with his feet up on the desk! Angry at this point that he fell asleep at the wheel, I yelled at him and still he did not stir. I then shook his shoe and woke him up. Angry at him for locking all of us out, I yelled. He shook his head to get the sleep out of his eyes. The 11pm desk manager was even more disappointing if that's possible. He said to his comrad, "don't fall asleep." And that's it?! I told him to yell at or to at least scold his compatriot for failing at his job and locking us all out of the building but his reply was "I already told him not to sleep." I asked the night manager numerous times to correct his co-worker but he refused all of the 6 times I asked. He stated that he attempted to call the hotel general manager only one time about the lockout and then sent a single text message regarding the situation. I say stay away from this lazy hotel unless you want to get denied service and get locked out of your room! read more

Stayed here this past weekend, reserved a queen suite. Excellent location, down the street from Convention center, near subway, buses, shopping, restaurants, a CVS, on the edge of a residential area. Very happy with the room overall. Now, with the other major chain hotels in the area, labeling this as a luxury hotel is a bit of a stretch, but for the cost, room size, amenities, it can't be beat. Full suite, 2 nights $555, hotel across the street, $400+ a night. As a previous reviewer noted, the exposed wood walls were different, as was the floor, which was some type of large tiles, (bring slippers). It was a suite, in the outer area was a couch, chair and tv, as well as a kitchen. Clean and roomy. No need to open blinds as hotel is narrow and the views are of other buildings. As a past frequent work traveler this is optimal for a weeks stay as you have time to take advantage of the room amenities. Main area had the couch with pull out bed, older, cushions were soft, a chair, small tv, however excellent channel selection, including Netflix. Additional closet space. Kitchen with full size fridge, d/w, microwave, stove, and oven. Breakfast bar with 2 chairs. Plates, silverware, cups, pot and frying pan were provided. Plenty of cabinet space to buy food if your going to stay a while. Bedroom was sufficient, 2 night stands, plenty of room, large pillows, slept well, plenty of closet space. A negative was no tv. Bathroom had nice shower, strong, with several settings and spa features, I did take an extended, nice, hot shower. I normally stay in a hotel in the Dupont Circle area but decided to stay at the Eldon this time because my business trip required me to be downtown and I knew there were some closures of the Blue line and other factors that would be contributing to potential traffic delays. I was a bit nervous about staying here because I saw quite a few mixed reviews when I booked my reservation. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in. My suite was clean and the toiletries were better quality than I expected. I was only in town for one night on this trip, so I didn't need the full kitchen. However, it would be great to have this for extended trips when you don't want to have to eat out for every single meal. Its also great for families on a budget who are visiting the capital. The check-in process was fast and the lady working at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I did not interact with any other employees on this visit. My room was on the second floor at the front of the hotel and I found the city/road noise to be average for a place in the city. It may have been quieter in the rooms further back from the road . The suite was very spacious and had decent furniture. The only thing I would change is to add a TV in the bedroom as I sometimes like to watch tv in bed. Also, the remote control for the TV in the main sitting room was not working properly. Not sure if it was a battery issue or a Direct TV issue, but it was mildly annoying. The bed was comfy and the sheets/blankets were clean. There were 2 good sized closets- one in the bedroom and one in the entry-way. The bathroom was equipped with a typical hotel style wall-mounted hair dryer, so you don't have to worry about bringing your own in case you are trying to pack lightly. The kitchen had typical things like a coffee maker and microwave.. However, it is also equipped with a full size fridge, dishwasher, cooktop, and oven. There were dishes, glasses and one pot and one frying pan in the cabinets. Additionally, they left an extra roll of papertowels as well as liquid dish soap and a dishwasher tab. Overall, I think the value of what I paid for this room was very good. While this is not a luxurious full-service hotel, but if you want a no-frills but clean and safe place to stay in the city at a reasonable price, the Eldon may be a good option for you. read more

Cute, apartment style hotel situated on a side street in DC near the Washington Convention Center. It can often be mistaken as an apartment building if you are not paying attention to the signage in front of the building. I have always wanted to stay here because of the uniqueness it offers as a "suite style" hotel room. It can be difficult to find a bedroom separate from the living space without paying an arm & a leg for the accommodations. And also, a full kitchen. The suite comes with a stove, stove top, My stay-cation has been pleasurable and I love the suite! I do wish they had a tv in the bedroom. The room is large enough to place a tv somewhere in the room. Not much of a view since they are building apartments/condos next door. What I can say is that upon arrival the elevators are inoperable at the present time. I like to request a high floor, but the front desk agent opted to give me a room on the 2nd floor instead. Thankfully I had help with my bags or else I would have been one upset guest! A home away from home destination here at Eldon Luxury Suites. Close to metro/public transportation, restaurants, CVS, shopping, tourist attractions, and more! Will consider next time for my stay-cation and I will recommend based on the needs of the guest. These are definitely not luxury suites. I got a one-bedroom apartment, and it was very odd-looking when I first entered. It was all exposed wood which I thought was really strange. The couch wasn't super comfortable, and there was definitely the bare minimum for it to be livable; there was a couch, a table, the kitchen, and a bed with bedside tables. At least the bathroom was pretty new. I was also woken up super early by construction, and the blinds were also broken so a lot of light came in in the morning. I didn't have a great night's sleep here, and I would not recommend it. read more

To be honest and fair, I did not actually get to stay in this hotel. I had booked a suite with full kitchen through hotels.com and paid ~$250/night (decent price in DC). At 8pm the night before arriving, I received a call that there had been a plumbing issue and an entire floor had to be closed and they could no longer accommodate me. Unlucky things happen, I understand this. They offered to put me up in their sister hotel, the Architect Hotel (btw, I would not recommend this hotel either), which was 5 blocks further from the convention center, where I needed to be. I was told that this would be comparable to the room I would've stayed in at the Eldon. I didn't argue since it was the night before and there was no time to find reasonable accommodations that late at night. The Eldon should be aware that the Architect Hotel is a less than ideal equivalent and should be more upfront about where they're sending their guests. The room I ended up getting at the sister hotel was small, loud, no security, 5 blocks farther, non-functioning wifi (seriously) with no kitchen, not even a mini fridge. I did not think I got my $250/night's worth and this was a terrible trade. read more

Ridiculous cacellation policy. My wife booked a week at this hotel on Expedia more than 2 months before our scheduled stay. She found a better price at another place, and canceled here. The problem is, my wife has aphasia from a stroke that impacts her ability to read. She misread the cancellation policy, and was charged a nonrefundable fee equal to the booked stay! Absolutely refused to work with us to come to a resolution. This place obviously does not care about the disabled, and only about their profits. I would avoid at all costs. read more

I booked this hotel solely based on the price and location. If you are willing to walk, this location is in walking distance to the metro, downtown and the National Mall. And the price for a one bedroom suite that accommodated 3 people was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was big and pretty clean (did notice a few things that needed attention). Like other reviews stated there is construction next door that begins at 7am. This place is so gross! They should be ashamed of putting the word luxury in their name. Stay as far away from this place as possible. Here are all the things that are wrong with this place ...the toilets don't work it was a common occurrence to have someone come to your room with a plunger to unstop your toilet from just putting tissue in. The occurrence is so common that when you walk through the hall you can see plastic bags wrapped around plungers next to peoples rooms. We had to have someone come and unclog ours twice in one day. We ran out of hot water. There are a number of cheap hand me down fixes that I've been implemented across the area you will look at the photos that I included and see that instead of installing a shade they took a piece of plastic and screwed it in with two screws inside the marble. The rugs are tattered and worn, the glass coffee tables are so heavy they can only be dragged to move them and you here this dragging all night in the rooms above you! The TV was mounted on some rubber maid shelf, the coffee and creamer was so old that it crumbled when opened. I called orbitz since I booked through them and moved my family out of the gross Pitt of hotel and went to another hotel. The hotel or orbitz won't refund my stay read more

The hotel was out of date but pretty large for a hotel room. It had a full Kitchen, living room and bedroom. The breakfast was bad. The pastries were dried out and tasted a couple of days old. I poured coffee out and it was cold with white chunks. I told the front desk and they said it was brewing. How the hell does percolator Coffey brew cold? Pretty sure it was left from the day before. Our short stay here seemed just fine and dandy at first. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained enough. I like that there's room to cook for yourself (we weren't there for long enough to do so) and such. The fold-out couch's bed was actually decent. The staff members were nice but rarely at the front desk. You can also tell that there's not much attention to detail here - mismatched lightbulbs, for instance, which on their own seem like NOT a big deal but in practice underscored an attitude that seems a bit too laissez-faire. What really bothered me - and bothered other guests we knew who were staying there - was the lack of hot water. Now, it wasn't freezing at its hottest setting, but it's still way too cold for a shower and wholly uncomfortable. If I had been camping or something, sure, that's what happens. But this is a hotel that has luxury in the title and is supposedly upmarket and such. And the hotel is supposedly small enough to be tailored to specific needs, since it's way smaller than the Hyatts and Marriotts, but how can a small hotel like this neglect the important need for hot water? I was waiting in the lobby when I noticed a hotel guest tell the front desk staff about the hot water issue. Their excuse was that they usually don't handle such a volume of people. LOLOK. First, it's a small hotel. Second, it's next to the convention center. Aren't they used to being at full or near-full capacity? I know hotels have a few jobs, so "you had one job!" doesn't work here, but this is a pretty important one. Crappy excuses abounded. Unless you want to rough it at not-roughing-it prices (at least while in the bathroom), you should look elsewhere. read more

I stayed in the Eldon Hotel during it's soft opening this past weekend. The room had a comfortable bed, walk-in closet, 2 additional closets, large living room, fully-equipped kitchen, and a breakfast bar area. Clean modern lines and beautiful, up-to-date décor made this suite a true pleasure. The beautiful bathroom, especially the shower, stole the show and was my favorite part of the suite. The staff was very attentive as the manager checked in to make sure our stay was up to our standards. The Eldon's location is a home run - located a half a block from the Washington, D.C. Convention Center. It also keeps you a slight distance away from the huge tourist area's and the droves of middle schoolers on bus tours. But even those areas are very accessible by a short walk to Convention Center Metro Stop (green/ yellow lines) or a cheap cab ride. An added location bonus is the CVS located right around the corner: perfect. This hotel is great for anyone who relocating to DC and is looking for something short term. read more

PROS - Price is better than Marriott - Great shower head and water pressure - Huge common/living room space - Really good closet space throughout the suite - Great wifi, there's even a router in the room - Very good/friendly customer service - The room/suite comes stocked with dishes, silverware, etc - The maids actually clean your dirty dishes when they clean the room - Location to convention center and metro CONS - There is no fitness center - Bedroom is small, separate - There's no TV in the bedroom and the one in the common space is very small - Neighboring shower doors are LOUD! They need to fix how they slam shut - Not the cleanest, ie some scuff marks on baseboards and floor - Decor is mildly dated - Shower drain doesn't drain very well - Bathroom is poorly lit - Rooms are not well insulated sound wise...I could hear my neighbor hacking and coughing in the AM and his girl friend (or wife) moaning in the PM Overall it was a good alternative to the Marriott. Also, although their own website, hotels.com and their welcome book says they have a fitness center on the 9th floor, they don't. it's "being renovated" But I went to the ninth floor and there was nothing but one room and one suite that was being renovated. Pros: This is a great hotel for the price. It costs less than many nearby hotels, but is closer to a 1-bedroom apartment. There is a fully-equipped kitchen complete with pots, pans, and utensils. There's also a separate living area, a bedroom with its own door, and three closets. Cons: The wifi worked very intermittently on 2 different devices, even after I reset the in-room router. I had a really hard time sleeping, between the too soft and flimsy pillows, and the air conditioner that kept turning on and rattling the door. There is also no TV in the bedroom. Overall, I'd recommend the hotel, but bring your own pillow and prop the bedroom door open! read more

Great space, lots of amenities, but the walls and appliances were a little poorly maintained, which made us feel a little more uncomfortable initially. Room service also needs to be improved: no towel replacements or bed cleaning was disappointing for $220 a night, but towels were promptly brought up at request. Wow. Where do I begin? This might be one of the worst hotel rooms I've stayed in. The kitchen/dining/TV room has no lighting that isn't overhead. Not a table lamp or floor lamp for some soft non-in-your-face lights. No way to dim the lights, either. Not very inviting. Even though the WI-FI is actually in the room I couldn't get any speed at all once I moved away from the router. I ended up switching my phone back to 4G. It looks like there was supposed to be a TV in the bedroom. There's an outlet and a wall plate for cable hookup - just not TV. And on the wall above the bed there are two picture hooks and no picture. Where did the TV and the picture go? I got back to my room Sunday night and wanted to relax on the sofa and watch some TV. I ran into a number of problems. I couldn't control the TV with the remote. I couldn't control the cable box with the remote unless I pointed the remote directly at the box, which was attached to the back of the flatscreen TV. I had to stand on the right side of the TV to change channels. I still couldn't control the volume, except directly on the TV itself. And the TV was set up in Spanish. All the onscreen instructions were in Espanol and the audio was in Spanish as well (but the onscreen captioning was in English, oddly enough). It took me thirty minutes to figure out how to reset everything to English. Then the handy in-room guide to all the channels turned out to be outdated. I gave up on TV and decided to shower. The shower is fancy. A handheld sprayer, an overheard and a bunch of "massage" jets. I decided to try them all and when I got out of the shower I stepped into a huge pool of water at my feet and almost went sliding across the floor. I was glad I had put down the mat, which was absorbing some of the water but not all. Time for bed. The bed... what the hell? There must be some kind of plastic under the fitted sheet because it crinkles. It feels like you're sleeping on plastic. And the sheets were tucked in so tight I couldn't pull them up above my chest. But all of that was nothing compared to the heating system. Oh. My. God. It's like a jet engine every time it kicks in. And it was kicking in every ten minutes at least. Just when I would drift off to sleep the fans would come on and make it sound like you're in a plane seated over the wing. LOUD. And no way to shut if off or lower the fan speed or anything. It was certainly too late at that point to get anything done about it or switch rooms. So I did the best I could and this morning I feel like I didn't sleep at all. When I went to check out I mentioned all of this. I also sent it as an e-mail to the hotel's address. The woman at the front desk told me the manager would be in touch but offered no discount on my room or any other compensation. I got a reply to my e-mail much later that day and here it is: "It is regrettable that you did not find your experience at the Eldon Luxury Suites satisfactory and I thank you for your feedback. We appreciate all feedback from our guests as it allows us to see where we can improve. As such, be assured that we shall take it all into advisement." Yep. I'll never stay here again and I won't be recommending this place to any of my co-workers, colleagues or friends. It's only selling point is its proximity to the Convention Center. I'd pursue this further up the chain but I was on business and the company covered the room. read more

This place opened in early 2009. It is nice but it definitely needs a few basics. Great things: Location, clean, tastefully decorated, great kitchen, spacious, terrific bathroom Bad things: No TV in bedroom, No phone in bedroom, the floors are all bare so the rooms are cold, a bit loud because of the no carpet echo, bathroom is slippery if you want to shave your legs -- no where to put your leg. Overall, I think this place is going to get better and better. The problems are easily corrected and the good outweighs the bad. I would definitely stay here again and happily update my rating as they make a few basic improvements. read more

I'm surprised at the 3-star overall for this place; with the exception of the construction next door, we didn't experience any of the problems in the other reviews: the water got hot, the staff were nice, and the a/c worked just fine. The bed was REALLY comfortable, and the full kitchen, although we didn't use it, was a nice surprise. The sitting area is roomy, and there are millions of TV channels. The internet wasn't lightning speed, but it worked ok. Continental breakfast downstairs was $6 and nothing special, but I knew we weren't going to eat any cheaper anywhere else, and I'd usually rather save my money and calories for later in the day anyway. Bottom line, we need more time to see DC, and with the great rate I got on Trivago, I won't hesitate to stay here again. read more

Please stay clear of this dated, rude customer service hotel. The "shift" supervisor Manny and Front Desk Clerk Grace no NOTHINGGGG about customer service. Extremely rude to me and my guest and it was New Year's Eve of all days. I checked into the 2 bedroom suite and invited some of my friends and colleagues over to bring in the new year safely and in the comforts of a hotel room. Manny proceeds to police knock on our door and said we are having a party and that's against hotel policy and my guest need to get out in 30 mintues. 8 people (which is 4 married couples) is hardly a party. He kept saying I could only have 4 people in the room, which come to find out was a LIE!! Yusuf (Front Desk clerk the next day) told me at checkout that room I had 6-8 people is fine and they are usually lenient on NYE. So as the lawyers and salesman that we are, we pleaded our case to be able to continue enjoying our night at least to 2:30am as that's when we would call it quits anyways. We were not causing a disturbance as no noise complaints were filed and neither of our neighbors were in their rooms, as they both left for parties in DC. Manny ended up calling the police and forcing my guest out. Highly uncalled for and just completely disrespectful. He then had the audacity to smirk at us while this was taking place as if he was doing something by kicking them out. Manny and Grace ignored me as I was trying to have a simple conversation with them about customer service and that was the last straw for me. I would never stay here again. The rooms are a joke and far from "luxury". For the money spent we could have gotten a better room down the street. read more

Was there for 11 days on a business trip. This place was great because it's like an 1 bedroom apartment. Front Desk people were super nice, except one guy. And honestly, I only saw him twice. I wonder if he was just having a bad day. He wasnt rude, just not as friendly as the rest. great location. had work at the convention center and it's only 1/2 a block. a few cons: 1 corded phone in the kitchen area. made it difficult to have a wake up call. only 1 tv, which was in the living room. I like to watch tv as i'm falling asleep. and I was really confused about the housekeeping schedule. they seem to come at random times. was never sure if i should leave a tip because i wasnt sure if they were going to show up that day. read more

I have stayed here for a couple of days. Its not a bad spot if you want to stay close to the convention center, and it wasn't bad for the price. I must mention the couches are not that comfortable for me. But I did like the fact of a desk I could work at for my computer. There is no restaurant or bar which I was disappointed with, but there are restaurant within walking distance. The staff is nice and helpful, and the room service is good. After researching many hotels and trying to find the best reviews with the best prices, this was the winner. It ended up being even better than expected! First impression: holy cow, huge room. My boyfriend and I walked in and were very surprised at how big it was. It really is like your own personal one bedroom apartment. I wasn't a big fan of the floors throughout the room though. My feet were cold! The elevator took awhile to get to us a few times, so we had to practice some patience. The hotel didn't seem too busy when we were there. We were on the 8th floor. I saw a lot of reviews complaining about the noise, but we didn't have a problem with it. The best part of the hotel was probably the location. Despite visiting in DC with below freezing temperatures, we were okay walking around because it was so close to Chinatown, not too far from Union Station, and a decent walk to the National Mall and all of the other museums. The Safeway a few blocks over was not scary or "ghetto." It was great to have when we had to run to the store to grab some stuff. I felt safe the whole time we stayed here. The neighborhood was quiet, but close enough to the hustle and bustle. Check out was at 11 AM but our shuttle to the airport wasn't picking us up until 4:30 PM. They let us leave our bags there while we walked around the city one last time. It was such a relief to not have to take our bags with us! They were very nice and helpful. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay, especially for the price and location. I would definitely stay here again. read more

A solid 4 stars for our stay here last month. We booked through expedia as a package with our flight and it was quite a bargain! We were given a room on the 7th floor that smelled pretty strongly of cheap citrus cleaner and the wifi didn't work on any device we had. The young man at the front desk was extremely helpful and did everything he could to make the wifi work in that particular room. After an hour of trying, it still didn't work and he moved us to another room across the hall after checking that the wifi worked in there. We had little to no problems with connectivity after that, plus that room didn't smell like cleaner! Our stay was pleasant. The futon was 3/5 comfort, as was the bed. The kitchenette was pretty clean and fully stocked with silverware, glass, dishes, and pots and pans. A+! We saved so much money by cooking our meals every day. The hotel is about a 20 minute walking distance from all the museums and monuments, and about a 10 minute walk from Safeway (grocery store). There is also a CVS Pharmacy around the corner and the Convention Center one block away. Overall, we enjoyed our stay even if it didn't have the perks of a high class hotel. How wonderful to be less than 10 minute walk from the convention center- I was here for several days for a conference and it allowed me to dash "home" when I needed a nap or wanted to eat in peace rather than suffer convention center food. Pro's: totally equipped kitchen clean, modern no fee for internet (a colleague said her hotel charged $9 PER hour) CVS around corner, Safeway 5 blocks away perfect for business professionals or families very spacious nice modern bathroom responsive service free continental breakfast 7:00-10:30 short walk to Metro Con's wireless was not working in the rooms! (But worked in lobby & one could plug in) massive construction across the street right now some boarded up buildings on same block A bit creepy/quiet if u come home in the area later at night no phone in bedroom, but these days we all have cell phones right? Very reasonable for the $, I was completely comfortable, I would definitely stay again. read more

This hotel was recommended by the convention me and my team are attending. When I arrived around noon, my room wasn't ready, so I left my bags with the hotel and headed out to lunch. I suppose the other rooms were all occupied bc I wasn't offered another room. The rooms are designed and laid out like a condo/apartment with full size kitchen, a living space with couch, a separate bedroom and bath. Although the rooms appear clean, the elevator isn't. I noticed that with a few things throughout the lobby and common main areas of the hotel. The kitchen dishwasher is out of service, the painting in the bedroom hangs crooked. The hotel misses attention to detail. Although nice, I wouldn't refer to this hotel as luxurious compared to others I've stayed at. read more

Scam + Horrible Service + Dirty Bedding = Not recommended I STRONGLY WARN AGAINST using this hotel due to deceptive and unfair business practices. I booked two nights at this hotel for my mother who lives out of state. Though the building is historic and has a pleasant exterior, the lobby looks unprofessional and the staff does not treat you with the customer service you would expect from a hotel. Chain hotels have far better service from the front desk associates. After my mother checks in and gets to her room, she discovers dirty bedding. She contacted the front desk, who promptly moved her to another room that also had dirty bedding! At this point my mother had me on the phone with her while she was at the front desk. We asked whether someone could simply change the bedding, but were told that no one was available to change the bedding; the cleaning staff was gone until the next morning. At this point, my mother did not want to stay at this hotel and I don't blame her. She asked what her options were, and was told that we could find her another place to stay and they would issue a full refund. Since mom came in from out of state and it was around 11pm, we decided it would be best for her to simply stay with us - not the comfortable stay I had planned. The next day, I contacted my credit card company (Chase) to request a full refund as we were promised and instructed by the hotel staff. I booked with points and had to go through Ultimate Rewards, the rewards TPA for Chase cards. I provided the name of the front desk associate and his title - he had written it on a card for me and obviously expected that I would be asked. After an extended hold, I was told the hotel was offering me a 1-night refund. This was unacceptable. I was instructed to contact the hotel directly to discuss my issue with a manager. I called the hotel and asked for a manager. I was told no manager was in. I asked when a manager would be in and was told "12 or 1". At 3pm I called back and asked for a manager, and was told that the manager had left for the day. At this point, I explained the situation for the person on the phone, left my number, and asked when I could expect a call. I was told "tomorrow maybe [Saturday], but probably this weekend". By the end of the weekend, I received no call. Believing I would get nowhere by calling back, I emailed them through their website on October 20th explaining the situation and asking for a manager to call me. The next day, I received a response stating that they informed my credit card company to refund one night. I replied the same day stating my refund should be for two nights. I did not receive any further replies from the hotel. I emailed back on October 23rd, and again on October 25th asking for someone to call me. After 4 requests for a phone call that were all very congenial, no one to this day has reached out to me. I worked with my credit card company to resolve the issue, but to this day no refund was given and no one answered my requests for a phone call. I did find out that after the night audit [employee's title] told us we would get a full refund for two nights, he notated on our reservation that we would get 1 night refunded. Though Chase was good enough to give me a refund after sharing my experiences, this hotel still got paid for providing lousy service, giving me the run-around, and for having dirty bedding - the most basic requirement for a hotel being to provide a clean bed. In addition to the horrible experience I had, I would also share that the odd, erotic, Asian art throughout the hotel was unsightly and downright weird. read more

I stayed here 11/29 to 12/3 and love the room size and pricing however be aware that there is construction going on next door and they start very early and it is loud. Also 3 out of 4 times I tried to shower the water was lukewarm. I notified the front desk several times about the water troubles. I am a hot shower person so if you like hot showers, you won't get one here. When I contacted the front desk for the third time I had hot water the next morning however one day 4 it was once again cooler water and hard to shower. I would also recommend that their housekeepers make sure to leave shampoo and not liquid dish soap in the restroom and make sure the towels are correct. I did not get hand towels or wash clothes one day. A few days the towels were stiff ..a couple days I had very flimsy towels. I would have loved to give more than an average rating since the room itself was great but the troubles with sound and water caused it to be just average rating. read more

My husband and I read all of Eldon's great reviews online, but were not expecting to be so pleasantly surprised. This isn't a regular hotel room, it felt more like an apartment--which, for the price is great! Full-serviced kitchen, living room, and separate room for the bedroom. It was definitely the largest hotel room we've ever stayed in. The room was very clean and even had additional bonuses (slippers, bath & body works shampoo/conditioner). Free Wi-Fi. The hotel is 5 min walking distance to the Yellow Line Metro (stop is Mt. Vernon Convention Center) and about 15-20 min walking distance to the White House, as well as other sites on the National Mall. The hotel is on a quiet street. There are so many great places nearby to grab a bit to eat (City Tap House), fast food options (Sbarro, Subway, Domino's), as well as groceries/convenience stores (Safeway, CVS) all within a 5-10 min walk. There is even a breakfast option offered through the hotel (for a fee); however, since the kitchen was in our room we just made breakfast there. Check-in was smooth, staff was friendly, and we were able to leave our bags while we finished up sightseeing on the last day prior to going to the airport. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely return if we're ever in the D.C. area. read more

The hotel is clean and the bed comfortable. The room is spacious with three closets. There is a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator. I loved the multi-spray rain shower. Very European in its styling. Quiet for sleeping. There are even slippers in the closet. Note that I was here Oct 2016 and there was construction next door. For me this was not a problem as it was a business trip, but you will NOT be sleeping past 7 am. The other thing was that DC water turned the water off two of the four nights I stayed, starting at 9pm. Not the hotel's fault, but I was not even offered a bottle of water to brush my teeth much less any other type of concession for my inconvenience. There is no TV in the bedroom, so you are going to be relaxing in the spacious living room... There is no carpeting or curtains, so the tv is going to reverberate a bit. And the sofa was, well a bit well used, so not terribly comfortable if you want to curl up and watch the tv in the evening. The living area also has no floor lighting, so you will be relaxing either in a well lighted space or the dark. I had no real issues, I enjoyed my stay, but be aware of the limitations, especially in late 2016 early 2017. read more

Don't stay here. The AC unit on the roof is really loud and will keeps you up at night. Can't get a good nights sleep at this place!!!

Do not stay here and save a huge headache! I recently stayed at the Eldon Suites to visit some friends. During my stay, my car was dented by their valet staff. What they don't tell you is that it is a SHARED parking lot. They box you in and ask for your keys to move the car. The valets also were smoking when my husband and I checked the car. The manager did absolutely nothing. He claimed to have contacted the insurance company and that they would be in touch with the claim number. That was last week and still nothing. No refund on parking either. In fact they accidentally, they charged me for 6 nights instead of 4. I called DC police to also document the incident. I also contacted the DC Tourist Bureau and Better Business Bureau. TERRIBLE TREATMENT! I love DC but STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more
