My family and I made reservations and went to this restaurant on Easter Sunday. We did not know it was a buffet that day, so that was the first ding. When we visited the buffet, it was extremely disappointing. The eggs were rubbery, the bacon was greasy, the mozzarella sticks were cold and tasteless, and the salad had minimal toppings. The pasta section was limited, and the kinds they had were warmish and not very flavorful. The carving station was also disappointing, with limited choices and cuts that were very fatty. The only redeeming section was the dessert selections, which were very tasty. The cost was $35 per person. There were 8 of us in our party, and everyone was beyond disappointed in the quality of their meal. This place used to be great, not sure what happened. read more

All the staff were really nice here, so I hate to leave this review. We were all just really underwhelmed with the food. I wish I'd have taken a pic of the salad bar... jalapeños, pepperoncini, croutons, 3 dressings, and I think one or two types of lettuce and some cucumber.... The garlic bread they charge you for and it was nothing special. I got the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo and I had no trouble eating less than half of it--usually I can't stop eating fettuccine Alfredo, it's one of my favorite dishes, so that was disappointing. Mom got chicken Romana. Grilled chicken (it wasn't dry, so that was a plus), mushrooms (I think they had rosemary on them, they were yummy), and artichokes, served on angel hair pasta. Sauce was just ok. We got a selection of desserts. I didn't like the chocolate almond cake or the cannoli (and I love cannoli). The cheesecake was good, the Italian cream cake was good (although the icing needed more cream cheese flavor). I loved the tiramisu. Overall, disappointed in the food, although it was mostly about family-being together was great, and the waitress was really good. **This is a 3.5 star review.** I've heard that this place is connected to Frenchies, which is about 10 minutes up NASA Pkwy. It makes sense because the food is served and tastes pretty much the same. That's a good thing. What makes this joint better is the service and atmosphere. This place is dark and roomy enough to make for a pretty cool date night. There is also outside seating with cool ambient (string bulb) lighting. Service here is personable ... exceptional on my visits. The food here is delicious. These folks know their New York Italian, with just the right amount of basil and oregano. The pasta is also al dente, which is the law when it comes to Italian food. Is it bland? Well, there's not a hell of a lot of bite, and the salt is pretty much not there. (Good news! They have salt shakers!) Though the eggplant here is fabulous, the pasta primavera was just OK. Flavor was fine, but the veggies were cooked well beyond crisp tender. The complimentary bread is fine, but not worth getting full on while waiting for your dinner. Bottom line: This is a good Italian restaurant that is locally owned and operated. read more

Villa Capri is one of the greatest Italian family restaurants I've ever been to. Villa Capri is located on the water, the outdoor seating is lovely. It's a perfect place to hold weddings and other large gatherings. The staff are kind and they always refill our drinks without fail. For those who love wine, Villa Capri has a section of fine quality wine. The appetizer selection consists mostly of sea food and fish, so if you're allergic or just hate that stuff (like me), you're better off skipping appetizers here. The pasta dishes and chicken plates were my family's favorites. Their salad bar is lacking, though. If you're allergic or just hate mushrooms (like me), avoid their Italian dressing. It's got mushrooms stepped in it. YUCK! The prices are a little expensive, but the quality of Italian cuisine and great service makes up for that. Villa Capri offers catering. Came with high expectations of eating a delicious pasta meal for our date night. You can't go wrong with shrimp Alfredo so that's what I got. Pasta was chewy and sauce tasted like pure heavy whipping cream, no flavor at all. Also got fried calamari but it was also very bland. Olive Garden is actually better than this restaurant. Only thing we enjoyed was the garlic bread and the salad we prepared ourselves as well as the water with lemon. There was also a dead roach next to our table. My grandparents, my mother, and I came to Villa Capri for the brunch buffet and it was splendid. The food was absolutely amazing and they kept the food fresh. Although it was a bit busy, we still had wonderful service, and the servers and busers paid great attention to all the tables, including ours. The server we had struck up a wonderful conversation and treated us like family and the owners who had been welcoming the customers had come to our table as well, and was telling us stories of how the restaurant came to be. It was a beautiful sunny day outside and no matter where you sat in the restaurant you would have a Water view, a view of the garden, the deck, and pier outside. ** PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING YOUR EVENT ** I have been a loyal customer for over 8 years, my husband and I chose to get married here based off of the aesthetics and ambiance we have loved for years. Raffi, the event manager and her event staff, completely ruined my impression of Villa Capri. To sum it up-I would NOT waste a dime at this establishment (for any special events) in the future. To summarize the issues I had with what was supposed to be the best day of my life: - The staff were completely clueless about the Timeline and Floorplan that I had overexplained and shared with Raffi. I had to again OVEREXPLAIN every detail WHILE I was getting ready, details Raffi said she had under control. - Raffi was not present at my wedding at ALL. She promised to be there to organize staff and make sure the Timeline was followed since we had a few small details. Instead, I was left to manage the staff from the second I arrived to the second I left. - Throughout the planning process, Raffi took multiple days to respond to EACH MESSAGE-question, request, answer, etc. it was incredibly stressful and unprofessional. - The AC does NOT WORK, I got married in June, I was promised the AC worked, but we were dripping sweat the entire time. (You can't adjust the thermostat, it is set at mid/high 70's) - My husband and I did not get to eat any of our food because the staff took over a hour to serve my small guest count of 40 people. We had to move on to the hour late champagne toasts and cake cutting. - The bar staff did not know how to communicate with guests when the bar limit was reached, instead they told everyone they were closed instead of informing them they could simply pay for their drinks. - Overall Staff issues: served dinner a hour late, tried to say I had guests arriving late (I think I would know I only had 40 people) and wouldn't serve them until I spoke to the staff, didn't pass out champagne at the designated time for toasts-I HAD TO ASK THEM TO BEGIN 30 minutes after the original time, staff was rude and unwilling to listen to the service style and timeline I had given Raffi weeeeeeeeks before. I work in the realm of upscale events and this was severely below my standards. I was required to set up all of my decorations, create all timelines and floorplans-something I had no issue with. My frustration stems from the lack of promised support and simple comprehension of what we wanted. I'm not sorry for my aggressive review as we paid a large amount for a very simple service that was somehow not executed correctly. I will confidently say, until a new Event Manager is in place, this is the worst place to host your special events. read more

Haven't been to villa Capri for many years but for Mother's Day , stopped to eat here instead of around the lake . I so regret stopping. They had a buffet and I was told I couldn't order off the menu. I don't like buffets and this one was missing some basics . My daughter ate a role and a dessert . She wasn't hungry. They didn't give the price and when I got the bill for $154 for 4 of us, I was in shock. I ran into someone I knew going out and they said they ordered off the menu. Love the view . We would see her going to all the tables all nice checking on other costumers and barely saw her coming to our table to check on us. --I went (03/18/21) with my friend because we wanted to see the sunset and have some dinner...we usually go to Mediterraneo Market & Cafe (super recommend) but today we decided to go to Villa Capri mainly because of the view but tonight it was a total disappointment. The other times we went there our servers were so nice, and gave us complimentary bread like in most restaurants, so after waiting a while for our server the owner of the restaurant came to the table to check if everything was okay, I asked her if they had completely bread and she replied with a nasty tone and attitude "COMPLETELY WHAT???" So I explained that the other times we went there we got completely bread and she said "it's never free, is $2+!!" And I told her that other times it was free and she said no! It's always been $2+ ...so whatever no big deal to pay that, we really didn't even wanted but the point is her attitude and pretty much calling us liars. I ordered a pear martini that was absolutely disgusting, extremely strong, that's not a huge deal but the flavor? I felt I was drinking disinfectant, I explained to an other server that was being trained by the other server and she nicely offered to bring something else, so I ordered wine. I ordered Lobster filled raviolis and it was very tasty, the food wasn't an issue at all but the poor service was for me a deal breaker. I paid my Bill and tipped the worst I've ever tipped in my life because I was extremely upset and I was not gonna give a 20% tip like I always do to someone who did NOT deserve it. The views alone are worth the price of admission. Located in Seabrook, Villa Capri is an Italian restaurant right on the water. I recommend coming when the weather is nice so you can sit out on the patio. Better yet, come during a sunset so you can watch the sun go down as you enjoy your dinner. Villa Capri specializes in fresh seafood and I went with the seafood saute (shrimp, scallops, and crab meat) in a champagne sauce with your choice of side. I went with the oven roasted potatoes. The shrimp were jumbo shrimp and the sauce was excellent. You also get complementary garlic bread (mediocre through) and there is a salad bar. Service was friendly.
