It's not their fault, the tap water in the area is just disgusting. Spring for a bottle of water. We've come here with large groups and they've always been accommodating. I've eaten here quite a few times over the years. I've also gotten pick up quite a few times. The food is very good and at times even excellent. Most of the staff in the restaurant are very friendly although there are a few waitresses that are a little rude. The prices are pretty decent. The ambience is also very nice. This has more to do with the service then the food. The food is pretty good me and my husband had eggs and pancakes for breakfast we sat at the bar. The staff needs heavy training. One lady yells if another waiter is in her way I heard her a couple times saying "Move Get out of my way MOVE" she was waitress I would say in her 50's with brown hair she was insulting to the younger waiters. Behind the bar there was a lot of joking around and very immature. I was kind of embarrassed to bring my husband there after I told him it's a great place for breakfast. This is my favorite diner in the Putnam/Northern Westchester area. The food came quickly and was tasty. The interior is very lively and vibrant. Our booth's table was awkwardly high-up though. Great diner! No complaints whatsoever about our meal. Menu has tons of options to choose from. I've been a bunch of times and every time the service has been great. They have a small outdoor area which I imagine is packed for brunch and during nice days! We dined at 10pm on a Friday night and the place was about half full. I'm sure there is a wait on Sundays so get there early! This time I ordered the Hudson Salad ($11.99) which was huge. It included salad with apples, sugared pecans, cranberries, and chicken. The dressing was delicious and all the ingredients were fresh. Someone else at my table got a burger which was cooked medium, just like he ordered. Eggs are always a great choice and the wraps are amazing too! Our waitress was excellent and did not even have to write down our order; and she didn't even forget anything. Update~We returned back for one last chance for redemption. So for lunch today we decided to try the calamari & fish tacos. So disappointed in our waitress, from chewing food in her mouth while taking our order to speaking to us while walking away. Our waitress also mentioned that since the fish tacos were redone "they" wouldn't redo the calamari but would take my plate and re-fry the rings for me! So after several failed attempts to rectify two meals gone wrong (calamari tentacle were perfect but the rings were rubbery & glistening; fish tacos were ordered plain with everything on the side but arrived with avacado and spicy sauce on them), I had to call for the manager(which I've never done and almost felt embarrassed). Mimi was very apologetic, concerned and listened attentively to my concerns and reassured me that she was aware of the problem with the marinara sauce and that the calamari would be perfect this time with ew staff onboard. After receiving our new waiter, Micheal, who was very friendly and personable! His experience shined through. Never again. I was starving after attending a wake and my husband suggested this diner since you can't go wrong with breakfast for dinner. I ordered their traditional French toast. I ate through a few pieces because I was soooo hungry but had to stop because it was so gross. It was so bland, I tired drowning it with syrup. It was made with some sort of Italian bread with sesame seeds? (Listed On the menu as challah bread like every other diner). So they will limit you as to what you can order Apparently after 9 o'clock all chefs turn into pumpkins and there's not another available Chef on the universe! Tried the diner for the first time over this past weekend and saw that it was featured on food networks diners, drive in's, and dives and showed how all of the desserts and breads are made fresh from scratch was a huge appeal to me. This Diner can be a total miss or a total hit, depends on the time of day and who your server is. This past weekend we went for a quick dinner and sat for about 15 minutes without being acknowledged by our server. She walked past our table multiple times, looked directly at us multiple times, but never actually said anything to us. We were about ready to get up and walk out when she sullenly came over. No hi, no smile, just a curt, are you ready? UNPLEASANT! I am devastated on how bad Eveready Diner has become. I'm been eating here since 2008. Used to be the best place ever and now they can't even make their "signature" dish the Jose Tejas right. To make things worst, they can't even make simple dishes like chicken tenders right. The tenders are hard, chewy and sour. Probably has a stiff texture because they are frozen, but why sour!? Tastes like they were stored in a pickle jar or washed with vinager, GROSS! A very average diner. First the positives: Good coffee; generous refills. The place is big, clean and modern. The service was very nice and prompt. But here's the negative: Our breakfast came out in probably less than 5 minutes. Not bad for eggs. But for French Toast? The bread was dry on the inside because the liquid hadn't had time to soak in at all. As a result, a VERY poor job on the french toast. (The eggs over medium were fine.) Add to that the bacon which was thin and fatty and a little soft (instead of a little crisper) and it was a frustrating meal. If I'm going to stop in Brewster, it needs to be better than this. Is it fine? Sure. But for these prices and for appearing on Food Network, it's just a tad disappointing. read more

I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal at Everready and that it's one of my go-to spots for a laid back meal morning, noon or night. It tends to get a bit packed on the weekends for breakfast and dinner, but if you catch it at the right time (midday or a weekday) you'll be in and out in about 45 minutes. If you get a seat at the counter, you'll be done in 30 to 35 minutes. Everready is inherently a diner that puts a modern, delicious spin on American cuisine. I'd definitely stick to one of their salads, burgers or wraps - if you're in the mood for breakfast, I suggest going to the Carmel Diner. My only complaint is that their breakfast isn't up to par with their regular dishes, and you can get it cheaper elsewhere. The laid back atmosphere is always something that brings me back to Everready. You can it down and grab a coffee or desert with friends without feeling rushed, and you don't have to worry about dressing up or the other formalities of dining out when you're there. There's always a line here but it moves quickly and you get seated within five minutes or so. Service is good, professional and efficient- not a lot of warm fuzzies but hey, they're busy! Last visit I got chicken parm and it was enough for two meals. My wife got the traditional diner pot roast and veggies- we got 3 meals out of it - not bad for $15!
