At the follow-up visit, my contacts were switched to another brand, and the office staff managed the switch for me. Prior to my appointment, I asked that they obtain a trial pair of colored contact lenses, and they agreed with no problem. I've been wearing glasses since I was 14 and contacts since 18. My previous optometrist retired and I struggled to find a new doctor. I'm glad that I found Dr. Brillante.

I thought that was strange and weird because she was in her mind representing God and his glory but yet she lack compassion for my humans and my suffering so it's strange how you can build a bond with a building business and in the end, realize that they're all about the money and not about the client. I mean she was so happy and jubilant and dancing around while I was crying and grieving in her face because the day I had to have my prescription filled, it was the anniversary of my son's passing and yet instead of her being compassionate, she was doing this weird little dance. She was out in the hall talking during the first test that the results came back inconclusive So the Dr is talking about laser surgery or eye drops We do the test again with the same technician who is extremely upset The test results comeback conclusive and they tell me they will see me in a year I dont know if my test results were conclusive or if they wanted me out the office. They had no problem taking my $100 co-pay but had a problem when I told them that one of their techs was distracted, multitasking and I could hear her out the door having a personal conversation after they give you an eye patch to put on your face that you dont know if a thousand people have used this same eye patch. Now I leave the Dr Not knowing am I going blind or am I 'not' going blind. Do I need to find another Doctor or even Do I need to find another Optometrist Practice and I have been coming to Thomas Eye Group for 40 years!!! This optometrist is engaging in illegal practices. He is charging you for your eye exam despite the…read moreinsurance saying that he shouldn't and then he is giving you an abridged version of your prescription, which prevents you from purchasing eyeglasses or contact's from anywhere but his office. When you call and ask for your PD measurement, which is needed for eyeglasses but is missing, the rude receptionist says that he doesn't provide that information... it's withheld for his use only. He does the same for your contact lens prescription. He doesn't provide your diameter measurement. This renders the illegally written prescriptions useless. Without these two measurements you cannot purchase eyeglasses nor contacts. This is a violation of FTC regulations. Please report this unscrupulous "doctor" to the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC's Eyeglass Rule and Contact Lens Rule require optometrists to provide patients with their glasses prescription at the end of their eye exam. A contact lens prescription must be provided after the contact fitting is complete. The doctor cannot make you pay an extra fee, buy eyeglasses or contact lenses, or sign a waiver or form. To report an eye doctor you suspect of violating the Eyeglass Rule or the Contact Lens Rule, contact the FTC at ftc.gov.

I went to DHEC to purchase my first pair of progressive glasses. The staff that helped were…read morewonderful and helped me to pick out frames. However, the 7 day return policy is not flexible enough. When it comes to progressives, you need a few days to adjust to them. If there's a problem, one needs time to return to the store, find out that the prescription might be wrong, reschedule another ophthalmologist appt, and then return again with a new prescription. For people who work, it is not possible to miss so much work--or get another doctor's appointment so quickly--and return to fix the glasses. I spent a few hundred dollars for unwearable glasses because I work full-time and could not get back into the store with a new prescription within 7 days. I had to wait another year before I could address this due to insurance coverage. I recommend DHEC for standard glasses and the outstanding staff, but if you need progressives that might need some adjustments over time, you might want to consider a place with a more lenient policy.
