i aint lyin when i tell you this is the BEST Birria Ramen i've ever had in ma 20+ yrs!!!! Service was a bit slow even though it wasn't a busy night. You can tell they're pretty limited on staff, so i didn't really mind (too) much. Cute med space spot in downtown. Next to the elevators of this area (& previous Smoke Eaters location). Indoor and outdoor dining. My waiter was very welcoming, kind and attentive, but since she was pretty much one of the only people assisting tables, i understand it gets a bit tough. She was very informative about their menu and alcohol beverages. She highly recommended the Pepino Michelada which was undeniably my first ever flavored michelada and it was amazing! It didn't have any tomato juice but instead contained fresh cucumber flavor, balanced sweetness, and lime! This place was SO disappointing. It took us 15 minutes to be asked about drink. Then we ordered everything to avoid another wait. We ordered chips and salsa, guacamole, birria pizza & birria ramen The food came before any drinks, about 25 minutes later. The birria pizza had very little cheese, like literally zero identifiable cheese if any. The ramen was decent but just missing something. The salsa was not good. I had been meaning to try birria ramen for awhile and y'all, this one did not disappoint. It tastes exactly how I imagined. It was so good on a cold night. We had a reservation of fifteen for a Sunday brunch and they were able to accommodate all of us. We got the bottomless mimosas which were decently priced, but unfortunately, after getting the first pitcher they were a little slow when serving us more. Went to the The FAB yesterday for lunch/ happy hour. The outdoor patio seating smelled like urine. We ordered an appetizer first...we ordered the chicken wings, which were frozen chicken wings store bought that tasted like cardboard, we ordered our lunch and we were very disappointed they didn't follow instructions on adding the extras to the orders. As we complained to the server that was serving is she did not show any concern nor did she care about our complaints. I would not recommend anybody to go and eat at this place because as soon as we left the restaurant I personally got sick throwing up n stomach ache. As well as my boyfriend and friend got sick. San Jose has many great Mexican places. I was stoked to try a new one! Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but the chorizo breakfast burrito was not it. The burrito had plenty of chorizo and cheese, but the potatoes were lacking flavor and at some points was devoid of any egg. It was calories, but nowhere near as delicious as other breakfast burritos in the area. Additionally, they totally lack a meatless breakfast burrito! The only alternative, the veggie breakfast burrito, is not the plain egg, cheese, potatoes combo that I crave on a slow-going Sunday. Unlike other places in SJ, FAB does not offer a wide array of salsas. The only salsa available on the menu tasted like marinara sauce from a jar. I do have to acknowledge I ordered through DoorDash and maybe their salsa options are lacking there, but I was not impressed by the one they had. Finally, and again note this was through DoorDash, so I am not incorporating this into my rating, I requested no mushrooms on the veggie burrito, and specified for them to call me if this was not possible. I did not receive a call, but I did receive the mushrooms! There are too many stellar alternatives to justify a breakfast burrito from FAB. read more

My wife and I go for happy hour. Their apps are so-so. We go for the $2 shrimp tacos and $4 quesabrira. They are both excellent. The beer selection was decent too. Stopped by this place for Sunday brunch with my sister and our kids. Cute little bar/ restaurant. I ordered the chilaquiles and a michelada. My sister ordered the brunch combo and all the kids got pancakes from the brunch menu. My eldest daughter got the chicken alfredo from the regular menu. The green sauce for the chilaquiles was really good. My niece said the pancakes were nice and fluffy. My sister also ordered a side of chicken tacos. She said they were really good. The restaurant itself is homely, very good temperature, and located within walking distance of the convention center. We had the pleasure of having Ricardo as our waiter and he was extremely helpful and attentive. The food was, to put it simply, amazing. We were so uncomfortable and it was considered a heat wave I'm not sure why they wouldn't want to make their patrons feel cozy. Also the food was overpriced and very small portions. They also charge a covid surcharge which covid has been declared no longer a emergency in the US so I don't know why they're doing that. And we didn't seem to get the amount of assistance we needed. I'll start by saying the food was good. The birria in particular.. but, from the start, the waitress was very rude to me and seemed annoyed that we had a somewhat large group (7 adults and a baby). Last, they added a large group fee of $20 on top of our bill, which I've never heard of...I could accept that, however, before I left, I asked if i could get a round of shots for our group and put it on a separate tab, and they also put that large group fee of $20 on that tab. This place is a new, up & coming sports bar near the university that I walked past during a morning walk during a business trip here in San Jose. I wanted to watch the Niners playoff game at a sports bar that night so I walked in and was greeted promptly and Martín took down my name and number and agreed to hold tables for myself and 5 co-workers. Sadly, four of them bailed out, so i had to change my reservation numbers later. However, when my coworker and I arrived we were sat promptly, it wasn't busy or crowded. The food was quick and served hot and the service was top-notch. The staff is helpful and really friendly and while i'm not a fan of many of their beers, they do have a really good selection. It has been a while since I have gotten good service at a restaurant. And I'm glad I found this place. The service was amazing! Very friendly, and not that fake friendly, but that genuine friendliness. Like they are having a good time with you. The food was good, and the drinks were perfect! I had the chicken wings. The wings were crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside. To drink I had the Mangoniada and Paloma both were perfect not too strong but just right to enjoy all the flavors in the drink. We also had some lemon drop shooters and I loved that they were not rimmed with sugar, but with Miguelito it was brilliant complimented the shooter just right. I got the chilaquiles, I usually love this dish everywhere I go. Here it is not good at all. The sauce is too tart and the price you pay is not worth it. The menu is also incorrect for this item. Apparently the menu has been changed and it has not been updated anywhere. The menu says it comes with beans. But it doesn't actually. My meal was cold and soggy. Very unfortunate. My boyfriend got the breakfast fries and he ordered it with Al pastor, they forgot to add his meat to the meal and brought it after he was almost done. He said it tasted good otherwise. I had my order taken within 5 minutes of sitting down and food served about 10 minutes later. The food was awesome! I had the jicama tacos with grilled veggies instead of fish.
