The Receptionist, Heather also said that the Owner of the Salon will Contact me ......and him Not contacting me (after his Trip) ... was Unprofessional. In Retrospect. This was a Very Uncomfortable Experience, Afterwards. I Understand you want to Protect your friends, But, the Receptionist Protecting the Stylist, deflecting Everything I was Saying and not Hearing me out... When you Protect your Employees over the Customer, when the Customer has been Wronged... It's Very Unprofessional.... BEST HAIRCUT IVE EVER HAD. I told her I wanted my hair short and asked for her suggestions on what style of short hair would fit me best and then I just let her do her thing. Yes, you can trust her because I'm absolutely in love with the cut and everyone at work and my friends all loved it! I've been wanting to take education from the factory for awhile. When I saw that Arron was going to teach a curl class, I especially was interested. Curl is something I have never felt like I was confident in rocking. So I signed up. The class was from 10-5:00. With a little lunch break in between. The structure of the class took us through quite a few different cuts. On wet and dry hair. We each had a curly doll head. In between Arron had a lovely client come in and he was able to demo real life styling. That was really exciting! I have since been playing with some of the techniques and it has been a game changer. I even push some of my regular long time clients to try giving up the laborious styling they do and give their natural wave or curl a try. I highly recommend this class. It was worth every penny and the day of learning. Thank you Arron. For putting your talent and energy into the art of your craft and for passing it on with so much enthusiasm! Dawn did a fantastic job today. I've had my hair cut at the Deva Salon in West LA - Dawn used the same dry-cut technique to maximize my curls and the effect is superior. The product the salon uses produces a high gloss, which makes my hair look super healthy. Only a roller brush and blow dryer were used to create a look that, at other salons, would have taken twice as long, even using a flat iron. Dawn Ahern works on Sundays - parking is free on Sundays. I've been to the Factory at least 3 times now and I am finally ready to write an honest review. Rachael has been my stylist every time I visit and today she just went above and beyond, showing that she is a stylist worth keeping. I wanted a change with my virgin hair and I asked her to take it as light as she can without making me look cheap. She prepped me before to let me know that it would take a while (4 hours total) but the results would be amazing. AND IT IS AMAZING!! Rachael is so open and easy to talk to and answered all the questions I had. I ask a lot of questions, because I like to know exactly what happens to my hair. I completely trust her after today's visit. I knew she was great at cutting, but today really proved that she is also a great colorist! Use my name and you can get $25 off your cut or color, which can be as low as a $20 hair cut, that includes shampoo and styling. There's really no better deal for the quality you get here. FYI, I used to go to Walk-In Salon until I realized that you really get what you pay for. I promise that you won't be disappointed if you give Rachael a try. She's amazing! read more

Finding someone to cut my hair feels impossible! I have thick, coarse, long (past my bra), curly hair. I've been to a couple places here in San Diego, and ended up with problems. I even paid extra for a "curly cut" and was left with uneven, frizzy, weird ends. I couldn't wear it wavy, definitely couldn't wear it straight. So, I've spent about 2 months reading reviews on yelp. Just nervous about getting my hair cut again...I even considered cutting it short because of my hair nightmares. After today, I truly believe, my nightmares, are, OVER!! Tomar, is, a hair, MASTER!! Do yourself a favor and visit Edna at The Factory! She is wonderful! I needed someone to put hair extensions in for my wedding and could find no one on short notice (about two weeks before my wedding date). I called Edna and she worked me into her schedule and was gracious enough to take me during the later half of the day after my work day had ended. Edna made sure she found the perfect match for my hair color and was very careful about placing them in my hair. My natural hair is pretty short so hiding the extensions was not easy. On the day of my wedding, Edna also did my hair. It was gorgeous! She basically sewed my hair for my up-do. I had never seen this method before, but it was amazing! It has been a privilege to be a client who followed Aaron Lacy here as he continues to pursue his own professional development. Let me start off by acknowledging that I am not an easy customer. I have a lot of medical issues that may not be visible but Aaron and the entire staff have always been tremendously [over] accommodating to me. So that alone sets the tone. Also, on the note of comfort, the bench style seating for hair washing is incredibly relaxing. No more cringing through that experience with piercing neck pain! I think I comment about it every visit but that's because it's very unique and adds to the chill, positive vibe throughout the space. Moving along to hair, I have never received so many compliments about my hair as I have since Aaron has been cutting it. I love how easy it is to style and how he cut my wavy, dual crowned previously slave to a straight iron hair into something that emphasizes the curl that I fought against for so long and looks great even as it grows out. To me that is the sign of a quality cut. Also, I like, just as others have stated, that Aaron knows how to cut women's hair short. I stumbled upon his name while browsing Instagram and was sold once I realized there was someone in San Diego cutting curly hair. I was willing to drive all the way to Los Angeles just to have someone cut off my dead ends without having to straighten it first. It's that rare. I'm of a multi-ethnic background and it reflects in my curls, so finding a trustworthy stylist has been as scary as it gets for me. I'd never had a haircut to my natural hair prior to meeting Aaron, so I had no idea what I was in for. To some people "it's just hair" but for women of color with all of our beautiful but widely unaccepted textures, it's a very personal and sometimes sensitive topic. The morning of, I was terrified on my way to the appointment. I say that very seriously. Immediately after meeting Aaron, I was put at ease by his calm and kind demeanor. I have a lot of hair and that was the only way I knew how to do it, so I would get it trimmed every 6 months or so and that was it.
