We absolutely love it here and can't see living anywhere else. We have lived here 4 years now and anytime we have had an issue from light bulbs to new stove it has been taken care of professionally and quickly. The neighbors are fantastic and the pools cabanas,ping pong tables,grills and bar area fantastic. New gym rooms and equipment are great as well. Could use some other machines but that is a personal thing. We have referred several friends here and only complaint has been the wait. Neighborhood has grown as well and continues to do so. If I could give this place NEGATIVE stars I would in a heartbeat . So much has gone on in the two weeks we lived there that it is just unimaginable . My boyfriend and I were very excited to move into this place . I absolutely love southern highlands and the units here were very spacious. So, they had a name to live up to. We agreed to paying the 1350/ mo. For 2 bed 2 bath. As we were signing the lease on April 16, the manager Robin, comes out and tells us they saw a rat in our apt as they were replacing our flooring. My boyfriend and I just looked at each other ..( what a great time to tell a resident they have a rat.. as they're signing the lease ). We didn't really make a huge fuss out of it, at first , because they said they had an exterminator come out . So, as they're opening the door to our new place they managed to leave the rat poop all over the floor . Mind you, they're supposed to do a walk through before the resident moves in and they clearly didn't . Baseboards were hanging off, cracks in the wall, the majority of the towel racks were loose, huge stains in our microwave and cabinets( also hanging off the hinges ), my boyfriend turned the storage door knob and it fell right off. I looked at the lady, Lois , in disbelief. How can you say you did a walk through when this place looked like someone moved out the night before . Unbelievable. We told Lois we wanted all this fixed and they fixed just the microwave, by replacing it .... So thanks for that. A couple nights go by and we are noticing more rat droppings in our house so we notified Robin ( who is the worst person I've ever dealt with in customer service ) and Lois, to send the pest control people out to inspect . They told us the rat may have been coming through the dryer vent so they told me they would notify robin to put a mesh on the outside of our vent . So, the maintenance guys...literally ONLY maintenance guys, Chris and Rodger come and put mesh on our vent. These ding dongs, I kid you not, only sealed the top part of the mesh... SO THE RAT CAN STILL GET IN. After their WONDERFUL installation job we called robin to see if she can get someone useful to come out and do a better installation and this lady legit told us " it's fine " and NEVER checked up on us or anything for about a week. I have the call log and we called that office almost 10 times in one week and not once did they call to check on us, except for the day we moved in to tell us they replaced the microwave. So, we called robin one more time to see if she can get maintenance to come out and do a better job on the mesh and she finally came out with maintenance only to walk into our apt and make Jokes about how the rat was eating our dogs food ! She was telling us to leave our dogs food out so the rat can eat it! WHAT! Is this lady a complete joke ?! At this point I've had enough so I called robin to ask her for the regional managers number . As I was asking for it, robin tried to explain that she tried her best to reach out . Honestly Robin, save your BS . So, when we finally reached out to the regional manager, she scheduled a day to meet with us , but of course , with robin . We already expected robin to fill her head with lies. When the regional manager came we tried to explain to her , in detail everything that was going on with management and maintenance, her response was " Are you ok in the head ?" and calling my boyfriend condescending when we told her the rat dug in our sofa and chewed a hole . She said " that's not from a rat ". WE HAVE A VIDEO OF US HAVING TO FINALLY CATCH THE RAT OURSELVES BY TAKING APART THE SOFA WHERE THE RAT WAS . She , then, proceeded telling us the rat can't get in the sofa and, if we want, to take her to court. Please... all I can say is stay so far away from this place. It's a complete nightmare . The only thing they did right was let us out of our lease, no penalty. But how sad is that? And they didn't even care that we had to move , now, twice in two weeks. The manager robin and regional manager do not give a crap about you! Why do you think they have 2 stars ?! PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPLEX AND APT 1007. read more

Highly recommend! I have lived here for a little over two years (since March 2017) and have absolutely loved it. I have known Robin, the property manager in the front office, has helped me on numerous occasions and truly made living here amazing! is The units are very spacious and the staff is extremely accommodating. Very few things ever needed fixing but when they did, which is pretty normal over a two year span, it never took more than a day to get someone out and have the problem fixed. As for the 1 star reviews, all I can say is that you get what you give. From my experience, this property, the management and staff are all very genuine, accommodating and reasonable! I have lived at The Fairways for 2 years and enjoy it here considerably. This is a very nice area and Southern Highlands is an outstanding place to live. Scorpions appear a few times a year during mating season I guess. Scorpions have been around for millions of years and since I live in the desert I do not make a big deal about them. I have reported 3 that slipped through the cracks and on a monthly basis I ask them to come in and spray the inside perimeter with a pet safe deterrent. The office also has pest control crews who come in and spray for them outside. Whenever I have maintenance issues or problems I share them with the office. Almost right away those problems are resolved. I am very satisfied here and thankful to have office staff who resolve issues. The staff really do listen. read more

Arriving home after a long day of work, come to find out my air conditioner was not working. Since it was 108 degrees at 7:00pm i knew it would surely be an uncomfortable evening. I put a call into the maintenance hotline as an emergency. Not even a half out went by when Marcel was knocking on my door. He fixed the problem within 10 minutes, and he told me if this does work that we would have to change out the whole fan unit. Sure enough it lasted only a half hour, when i called back Marcel came right back over with another whole fan unit ready to replace it, the whole thing took less than an hour. Marcel was quick to respond fixing the issue, he had no problem coming back to fix the problem, making sure that i would have a cool enjoyable night. I would like to take the time out to thank Marcel for his excellent work in a timely fashion, making me a happy tenant. You need more people like Marcel working for this company. This place has gone downhill fast and the new management company doesn't do anything about it. We don't own a dog but you will see dog poop all over the place and it be there for a few weeks before anything is done about it. To park your vehicle under the car port you need a parking permit and when I get home late from work there are up to 5 vehicles parked under the car port without a permit and if I talk to the manager of the fairways apt nothing is done to solve the problem. read more

I used to call the office in the beginning to come and kill it but now i hot used to them since i find them almost every other day. Talked to office they send pets control on Thursday but the next day i find another one. It doesnt make sense pets control spray your apartment next day u find scorpion or other bugs alive????!!!!!! I have been living in las vegas 5 years 3 years in southern highlands never seen a bug alive in my house or apartment because the pets control do their job, i know we live in a dessert but if you use pets control you will not find all of these scorpions or bug in your apartment. read more

My AC unit cut out this morning due to a short. I reported it to management this morning and within 45 minutes a technician was here for the repair. Marcel did an incredible job repairing the unit. The worst apartment complex I stayed in. Parking sucks. If husband and wife are both working usually have two cars. Management says park outside on the street? Management has a fast turn over of personnel. Pretty much their new employees are dumb and dumber than the previous ones. Nobody cares about the residents' problems. All they want is raise the rent! This place is HORRIBLE! The back end if this property is NEVER kept up. I was PROMISED hard wood floors before I moved in, which was NEVER put in. Did I mention SCORPIONS here! And good luck putting anything in the patio, like a chair in a table or anything , cause you'll get a bill on your door for $100 for having something on your PATIO! My appt was all Ghetto rigged too, wiring for the heater was wired wrong and A/C also. And when you leave they're gonna try to screw you over and overcharge you with a nice bill after your deposit. The decided to change how you can pay your rent without proper notice. I have lived here 2 years never had any issues with paying rent until today. The 2 unprofessional ladies that work the desk who have attitude were less then accomidating. They never sent any documentation stating that this "corporate" change was taking place. Then I went and got a money order and they still would not take it. They now officially lost a great teant. I have never been late once on my rent. The way I was treated was as if I was beneath them. I'm disgusted at there lack of customer service they should not be in the position either of them are in. There nasty attitude and eyerolling behavior is less then impressive. READ BEFORE THINKING ABOUT RENTING HERE! My fiance and I signed for a 9 month lease, at $1300 a month PLUS utilities for a 2bd/2bth. ( We didn't have time to look anywhere else unfortunately ) When we moved in there was a few issues, extremely loud and obviously defective garbage disposal, which the brilliant staff said theirs did the same thing and it was normal, the extremely loud air conditioning unit was also something their apartment did. For as much as we were paying we should've at least expected a parking spot at night time, good luck finding a parking spot even with your "parking pass". We had multiple incidents where management/maintenance let themselves into our apartment without notice. I called and complained that they entered without a heads up, and sure enough a few weeks later there was another time where we found out they entered without letting us know. We were told we got new floors, freshly renovated but it was filthy when we moved in. Weird they would renovated with used items? The gates never work, you're either locked in or locked out. This was really just a lesson learned for us, I highly highly suggest you look at other options before choosing The Fairways at Southern Highlands. I would not recommend any of my friends/family ever stay there. As for management at this location, pay close attention to them trying to take advantage of you any chance they get. read more

My family and I moved to Vegas from Hawaii in 2016. We lived at The Fairways at Southern Highlands for 18 months and had no problem at all. I read reviews about the apartments being infested with scorpions which made me very nervous in the beginning to live here. Honestly, within those 18 mos. we've only came across 2 baby scorpions and it was only because we forgot to call the office to get the apartment sprayed. They do hire pest control guys to spray your apartment every other Thursday at no cost...you just have to remember to call the office or request it on your portal. Also, if I had troubles with plumbing/AC the maintenance guy was always there for us to fix the problem even after hours. read more

We've been living here for about two months now and so far so good! We had a few minor repairs and whatnot that was needed when we first moved in but maintenance was quick to help with no problem at all. The workers are super nice and the neighbors I've met so far and great! I don't know if it's where I am or if it's everywhere here but there's always parking. My old apartment, the parking spots for everyone were a bit of a walk from most apartments but here, there's always open spots that seem to be convenient for everyone. I believe there's the pools here. The main pool looks real nice but I haven't been in it yet. The pool closest to me is nice and almost always quiet, which I love. Apartments are in a good and safe area however there is always noise and ruckus going on! ALWAYS! Whether it be the garbage truck which feels like it comes constantly or leave blowing (which it's Vegas there are no trees) or even the street sweeping truck. The noise is constant and it never ends. My wife and I Iove it here! We have been living here for 4 years and these are great apartments in a great neighborhood. The bedrooms and living rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The front office staff is friendly and will always greet you with a smile and are very helpful with any questions you have. And for those that are leaving negative comments about scorpions, there's a simple solution to that. Buy some bug spray at Walmart for $8 and spray your home once a month and bam! The Fairways gets 5 stars in my book. Durning these complicated times I had to move a family member quick and fast in order to have them closer so my husband and I could care for them. Joe Mattingly is by far the most efficient and professional leasing agent I have dealt with. He was compassionate to our sense of urgency and was able to get us to the specifics we needed to meet their limited mobility. When dealing with family I don't just put my trust in anyone but Joe proved he's family worthy! I would tell anyone looking for an apartment go to Joe! I've only lived here for a month, but I must say that so far it is wonderful. We did have an issue with our first apartment when I was told the first tenant wasn't leaving and I was without an apartment, but management got in touch with corporate and compensated me. I thought I was going to have to wait another month, but an apartment became available and they pushed things including new paint and carpeting and got me in on my original move date. I am not thrilled with one of the employees for how it was originally handled, but management stepped in and took care of it right away.. As someone who never lived in an apartment complex, I was worried about noise especially since we are poolside, however, it is very peaceful and quiet. As of today, I would highly recommend theses apartments. However, like I said I have only been here for a month. Maybe my feelings will chance in the future, but we shall see read more

1 star is being courteous and solely goes to renee. I have had scorpions in my apartment since day 1. This is a problem that will not seemed to be fixed. I went to the office thinking they would resolve the problem and their advice and their solution was USE A BROOM, GET A CAT, and I DONT KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU. Are you kidding me? They won't even send maintenance because it's too dangerous for them. Everyone in my building has them and my neighbor has been stung. I've had countless sprays done to the inside of my apartment but they say the only way to fix the problem is to have my place steamed. This means leaving for 24hours. My neighbor had hers steemed with out her consent and they melted make up, candles, killed plants, and damaged electronics. So not only do you need to move anything that will melt, which they don't tell you, but plan on taking your tvs and computers. I have decided against steeming because what am I supposed to do with my tvs, paints, make up, etc and dogs for 24 hours?!??!?! So I see scorpions daily and they are on the walls, in the pantry, and now they are on the carpet. And let me assure you that they range in all sizes! This seems like a beautiful place when you drive by, but honestly I feel like I'm trapped in a nightmare. Not only are the scorpions terrifying but I've lived in southern highlands for 7 years and I have never seen one till the fairways. That tells you something! This place is infested! They have also ripped up most of the grass to replace with rocks, and Changed the color of the building to brown. Let's talk about this paint job for a minute. I received a notice saying my building would be painted within a week or so which is fine. They did not notify me that when I open my blinds there would be a man outside my window. Even after the buildings were finished the painting crew kept coming back to do touch ups which I was not notified for. So when I left my blinds open to wake up with the sun weeks after they were finished imagine my surprise to see a painter staring in my window. The office is useless. No one cares. Liz seems to never have any answers and her go to phrase is, " I don't know what to tell you." On top of the scorpion issue, and the office not knowing what to tell me, they towed my car. Icing on the cake. Can't call me? Apparently there are several numbers listed so they just called one. Wow. This is the most ridiculous place I have ever lived in and the most unprofessional staff I have ever seen. read more

Do you enjoy taking 3 hours to dry your clothes in a dryer, then this place is for you. Our dryer would take 3 hrs to dry a load. For over 5 years we complained to management about the dryer, but they would not replace. Since it would get "warm" they didn't consider it an issue. The place use to have grass every where the kids played and dogs walked, but management removed almost all grass except 3 small areas. So now dogs would only go to the bathroom in the 3 small areas, unless you like watching your dog in pain attempting to walk on rocks to go to the bathroom. So don't let your kids play in the grass, due to dog pee and poo. Having access to 3 pools is nice. Only one is heated, for like a month before needing a heated pool is no longer needed. Every now in then management would have a pool party with music, BBQ, and prizes, which was fun. Though they do spray, expect to get scorpions and cockroaches in your apartment during the summer. Fitness center is fine. I never needed the business center so can't tell you about it. Though complex is in a good area. If you looked, might be able to find another apartment complex or even a house for rent that is cheaper than the rent for the fairways. I believe they were allowing section 8 for awhile, but not sure if they are still doing that. Nothing against section 8, just seemed like the place got more scketchy when they did. I'm sure if fairways is attempting to get better, cause seems like there have been some improvement, but they are not there yet. read more
