I had a good late lunch at The Farm and would recommend it if you're looking for some good coffee and good food. I had the turmeric latte, which certainly didn't lack for turmeric. I kind of like the almost medicinal flavor that lots of turmeric can bring, and this latte had that. For most people I could imagine them perhaps wanting a bit more sugar to offset the bitterness from the turmeric, but I didn't mind. For food, I tried two sandwiches, both of which came with the same pickled vegetable salad/potato sides. The lamb wrap, which was the better of the two, had juicy lamb in thin flatbread with vegetables. Not too saucy so it didn't feel overly rich, but good flavor and satisfying to eat. The size is good for the price, and with the sides it's definitely enough for a meal. The steak sandwich, which was good but not as good as the lamb wrap, had a good amount of meat and was well constructed with vegetables inside. Same comment on the sides. The only issue for me was the bread - it was tasty, and it held up fine, but however they toast it somehow gives it an insane amount of crisp. If you've ever had good Dutch crunch bread, you know how eating it too aggressively can scratch up the roof of your mouth? This bread is like that, but even more so. It was absolutely lacerating me. Again, not a flavor or structure complaint, just make sure you take small bites and chew thoroughly. Inside it's a bit on the dark side, and the tables were a bit sticky. We did come at an off hour well after the rush had subsided with barely anybody inside, so maybe they were between cleanings. The food comes out in an average amount of time and the servers are all nice. The total for the food, my coffee, another coffee, and some pastries was about $100 with tax and tip. So... it's got the Palo Alto pricing I guess. Parking is on the street, so as you can imagine it would be difficult during peak times. Luckily we got a spot right out front but I assume this would be unlikely during their busy hours. Overall I would come back, just definitely remembering to take small bites of that ultra-crispy bread. read more

I was really looking forward to checking out The Farm, but unfortunately, my experience was pretty disappointing. We ordered the omelette and the veggie burger, and both came out fairly bland and lacking flavor. On top of that, the service was super slow throughout our meal. The only real positive was that they had ample seating available, even for a weekend morning, which made getting a table easy. Still, given the food and the wait, I'm not sure if I'd be back again. read more

The food was great! I definitely want to come back to try lunch/dinner. You order at the front and they bring it to your table. The gentleman taking our order was patient and nice. The young lady who served us was ok. I asked for water and she pointed to the station where people can get it themselves. Not that I can't get my own water, but other restaurants I've been to will run and grab it after telling me that it's self serve since it's my first time. Ambiance was simple. Hard wood chairs and benches inside as well as seating outside. I have to admit I was confused a little when I saw another table have menus. Visted on a rainy Saturday with a best friend around 1130am. We were welcomed by the warm-rustic vibe of the place. Ordered and found a table immediately. We shared the large combo pizza. It was made fresh and the crust was thin but filling. It came with 8 slices medium sized slices. The ube latte looked like it would overwhelming be sweet and ube flavored but I mainly justed tasted the espresso. The london fog was a great portion and was served hot. I would not recommend this place. They will likely go out of business due to the poor customer service. Quality is not good and service is worse. I've given them a lot of opportunities and business since they opened, and they were rude because I asked if I could swap whole milk for 2% for 1 latte they had just made. They said I would have to pay again because I didn't tell them sooner. Mind you I always get the same latte with 2% milk and I've been going because it's close by. Never again. My team came here for a lunch and we had a great time. We had a group of 9, someone had called in the day before to say we were coming but on the day the workers didn't know what we were talking about, however they pushed together a few tables and still accommodated us great. Menu is fairly vegan friendly, I ordered the vegan burger, and they also offer vegan cheese for the pizzas. The burger was delicious, would highly recommend. It was not a traditional handheld burger rather it was a patty served with eggplant and mushrooms cooked in a delicious sauce and topped with avocado. Other members of my team also really enjoyed their food, a lot of the specials looked really good. The food is pretty unique, I believe it's Armenian cuisine although not 100% sure. A great casual spot to grab a bite with indoor and outdoor seating. Chicken wrap - it came with a side of potatoes and some greens. The chicken wrap had a lot of veggies in it which was really nice. The bottom of the wrap was a little soggy from either the sauce or the veggies. The potatoes didn't have much flavor and were a little soft for me. Came here on a weekday lunch with a friend. The environment was friendly and chill. We placed our order indoors and grabbed a table outdoors awaiting our food. The owner/manager (?) older gentleman was friendly and helpful. I didn't know what to order and when he shared the Office Box, which includes chicken, chicken rice, and Caesar salad. Some of the best coffee I've ever had here! Soooo creamy and rich. Staff were really lovely. Ordered a blueberry muffin and he charged me less because the muffin was smaller than others, and they remade my coffee gratis because I wanted oat milk despite me wanting to pay. They're just down the street so I'll deffo be going back frequently. read more

Wow this is a great place for a low key & wonderful brunch! My honey and I split an avocado toast and an egg sandwich, and both were scrumptious. If you have potatoes on the side you also still get a nice lil pile of arugula as well, which goes great with both dishes. The whole grain bread used for both dishes was nice and toasty and flavorful, and it's hard to choose a favorite. The avo toast tho there is some seasoning that's unfamiliar to me but delicious! Oh, also got a latte -which TBH seems so extravagant when it's served in a real cup, but was a touch above what I expected. The ambience and location: perfect. It's a block away from the hustle & bustle of Cal Ave, so it's quieter and calmer, busy but not overflowing. The Farm is a pivot from the former pizza only restaurant space next to Baume off California Avenue in Palo Alto. It's a bright, clean and welcoming space serving brunch and breakfast as well as lunch and coffee/tea service. We dropped by in the morning and shared a breakfast platter and caught up in the open space before shopping in the area. The restaurant has a brunch menu available from 7 AM and a lunch/dinner menu available from 11 AM. The brunch menu features a diverse selection of savory (breakfast sandwich) and sweet (waffle) dishes while the later menu features soups, salads and pizza. We tried the Benedict as well as some coffee drinks. You order at the cashier and they'll bring your order table side. I think the space will be great for remote workers and several dining spaces did offer outlets. It's a step up from Starbucks or Peet's and reminds me of places like Coupa Cafe. Stopped by to grab a cup of coffee and saw the name and hope that it will be something special "farm to table" but read the menu and nothing really pop up, and the prices are abit on the high end. But really want to give it a try so went in an ordered a regular coffee and it rang up for $5.75...wow, that must be or should be really good and organic...plus I tipped 15% on top of it for just an okey service....no morning or hello, just want can I get you. After ordered and paid, he finally cracked a smile since he saw I tipped..then he poured the coffee into the cup and left it at the end of the counter then talked with the other staff. The cup is hot and I didn't see the cup holder and didn't know the procedure here so me I'm out of town and was here for a visit. I asked and he point to the counter behind me. But no milk or cream so I asked another staff and he took the milk carton and left it on the table and left, I got the milk then left and feel glad that I didn't stay. Too bad, the place got relax and chill vibe and nice decor but not so good of service. They do have patio seating as well as inside. As I read the review here, I got it that it self service and it would help if the staff there would say it when I ordered or point out which what, where stuffs are. Oh well, the coffee is quite good and I drank it all and wish I could come back for 2nd cup but the thought that I have to deal with the attitude and $6/cup...I just go elsewhere for cheaper and better service. This family owned restaurant is such a great addition to south bay! Went for brunch on a Saturday at 9am with no wait and ordered the açaí bowl, eggs benedict, and avocado toast. Each dish was flavorful & fresh and felt clean, not heavy like some brunch places can be. My personal favorite dish was the eggs benedict. We also ordered the orange latte and lavender latte- the orange latte was subtle in the orange flavoring and lavender latte had a distinct herby flavor which we enjoyed but may not be for everyone. The place and the ambience is great but the food - meh! My friend and I went for a friday lunch. I got the salmone and he gopt the chicken wrap. We also shared an order of wings. All the food was pretty bland. The wings felt like they were cooked much earlier and warmed up. The salmon was boring & they served a thick chunk of eggplant with it that was somewhat under cooked. My friend also said his wrap was not very flavorful. We had to ask for hot sauce - they gave us cholula. It's a shame - great place for a meal...just wish the food was at par. read more

I came here for brunch for the first time with my adult daughter. The reviews looked good, and the crowd we found on arrival made it look like we were in for something good. The blended coffee drink we ordered was too rich and tasted a little strange. We ordered the Lahmacun for 2, which sounded interesting, but it turned out to be a disappointment. We had to wait over 45 minutes for this dish and left hungry. It was not cheap, the seating was open seating, and several people had to wait for an open table. We ended up going to Starbird down the street because we hadn't filled up. We probably ordered the wrong dish, but I don't think we will return to find out. read more

We came here with high expectations based on the reviews. We couldn't have been more disappointed. Service was a total mess - slow, missing utensils, wrong food taken to another table after we touched it, .... Tip was taken in advance otherwise we wouldn't have left any! We were hoping that the food itself would be the saving grace. Alas, it was nothing to write home about. Stale, tasteless potatoes, sloppy bread, small portions, ... The two tables close to us didn't fare better. There are lots of space/tables (indoor and outdoor) and this spot is quiet enough for people to have actual conversations. Pricing is the usual Palo Alto pricing. Their coffee cups are huge though. I ordered a cortado and it is a size of a regular latte elsewhere. You first order at a counter and grab your seat. There is a huge jug of water and there are to-go boxes set around the tables for anyone who want to take their food to-go afterwards. Plenty of parking on the weekdays. read more

So happy to have found this gem for all-day coffee on Cal Ave. Self-serve restaurant / cafe with a relaxed vibe and good coffee (or tea or matcha...with generous portions) & food. I have had various coffee variations, different baked goods (mostly delicious, loved the apple tart), avocado toast with egg and salad and the chicken wrap with salad. All were great and flavorful. I have also spent extended time in there, chatting and occasionally working, and never felt rushed. Regarding other reviews: While the staff is not over-the-top friendly, there is a more quiet form of hospitality and I have always felt welcome. We went for brunch and enjoyed delicious rose decaf latte, delicious London fog latte, a very good iced matcha latte, an excellent vegetarian omelet with surprise delicious and scrumptious eggplant inside, a beautiful and yummy Belgian waffle, and a delicious veggie delight sandwich. It was hard to keep the contents of the veggie delight sandwich from slipping out of the bread while eating, so I will probably order something different next time, otherwise the food was very satisfying. - Conveniently located a short distance from the CalTrain station. - Some outside seating is available. read more
