    Baconless sandwich
    Mina M.

My partner was really craving an egg McMuffin style sandwich, and we stumbled upon Hatched. The name and cute exterior reeled us in! We just grabbed one sandwich to try, specifically asking for bacon, but it arrived bacon-less. No one really directed us to order, we just made our order through a kiosk. They were somewhat quick. There's no indoor seating, only outside. Honestly, the place felt a bit cold and impersonal because there wasn't much interaction, you just get your food and go. This could have been a 4-star experience, but the missing bacon and the not-so-great bun really brought it down. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, though, because we went in about 30 minutes before closing, which we didn't realize at the time. It's interesting how many places in Palo Alto close super early, especially on weekends. On the plus side, plenty of parking, but the floors looked like they hadn't been mopped in a while. Overall, a bit of a mixed bag.

BEC with a over hard egg

I loved my breakfast at Hatched! I got the B.E.C BUT I got an over hard egg. This takes away the mess and lets you focus on the different flavors from the caramelized onions and chipotle sauce. The bacon was super crunch as well. It is a self-service screen and the line went quickly. The food also came fast as well. There are plenty of seats outside to enjoy the sun!

Quick takeout location with outdoor seating. The food is good for what it is. The portions are loaded. Their matcha is mid. It tastes like culinary grade.

We started our day by fueling up on breakfast sandwiches & tots at Hatched. Tucked in a back corner of Palo Alto's busy Town & Country Village, parking -- like their outdoor seating situation -- is hard to come by. I ordered a B.E.C. & added avocado. The ingredients looked good on paper: smoked bacon, over-medium fried egg, arugula, caramelized onions, & chipotle ketchup on a baked bun. It was extremely messy to eat; there was so much spillage, I never got a bite with all components in tact. My bad, I didn't specify how I wanted my bacon so it came way too fatty & flimsy for me to eat. Not great quality on the dry & dense buns. Though the crispy Parmesan Garlic Tots were hot, fresh, & sufficiently garlicky, I wouldn't come back to Hatched for another first meal.

Very clean establishment. Considering they have a clear counter wall, you can see everything behind the appliances. It's pristine back there! Service was fine. There are 2 kiosks to order from. You place your order. It's confirmed on your phone. Then you wait. My order was ready in about 10 min. We ordered: Sunny Side Avo Toast - that egg was perfectly runny. A. T. A. - well seasoned. Good balance of ingredients. What we loved about their avocado toasts is that the bread was perfectly toasted. Toasted just right to stay crisp yet chewy. Nice sized slices of bread. Will definitely come back.

Wow, the sandwich with the pork belly, delicious, messy with egg yolk running everywhere, a thick slab of pork, a delicious bun! Almost too big, great for sharing, if you're a sharing kind of person. I sat outside and eavesdropped on a couple of folks talking about their AI startup.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. They're open early at 7:00am! We arrived around 10:00am, and the parking lot was pretty crowded already. Hatched itself wasn't too crowded though. They have some smaller tables right outside of the restaurant under the awning, as well as some picnic style tables (no shade though!). We ordered the Green Dream Sandwich that comes with avocado, scrambled eggs with chives, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, baby arugula, and garlic aioli on a baked bun. The bun was soft, and I enjoyed the creaminess of the avocado. They have tater tots that you can get as a side, and they were nice and crispy! We also got the Miso Caesar Salad. It has romaine hearts, kale, red cabbage, shave parmesan, tomatoes, red onions, and croutons with a miso Caesar dressing. The salad could have used some more dressing. It was dressed very lightly. I couldn't really taste the miso flavor either. Croutons were large and pretty hard. I'd skip the salad next time and just go for one of their sandwiches. Didn't get a drink, but I noticed they have a decent amount of matcha lattes and other specialty drinks. Will have to try one next time!

Doordashed the avocado breakfast "green dream" sandwich and the mushroom breakfast sandwich for my husband. I really enjoyed it as they put a good amount of avocado. I got the Ube coconut latte and put less sweetness but it was still way too sweet. Overall I would order from them again.

    Chicken Sandwich with additional egg

We tried this place out for a quick bite since we wanted to visit the Stanford University. You go in and order from the kiosk, they are cashless establishment. From there you wait til your order is ready. There's seats outside where you can eat. I'm not sure if it's usually this busy in the plaza as everyday, but we went today on a Saturday and it's pretty packed and parking takes awhile. I ordered the Scrambled Egg Sandwich and my bf ordered a chicken sandwich. We also ordered Ube Matcha Latte. The scrambled egg was pretty decent, since I do not eat a lot, I was pretty satisfied with the amount of it. For my bf though he did feel like it was too much, in a sense of the chicken in the bun. We both liked the Ube Matcha Latte. Overall gave it a rating of 7/10.

This place isn't bad but I wouldn't come for a long while. I came with my team lady last Friday for brunch and we had a good time. I thought their jalapeño smash burger was decent but a bit dry. It wasn't cheesy or gooey like most smash burgers. My burger tasted like a Philly cheesesteak with the taste of green pepper and dried meat my garlic tater tots were fantastic and for the price of $5, you can't beat the portion and games. My friend ordered the Ono chicken sandwich was also good and had a nice tempura-like outer shell. The garlic aioli was good and paired nicely with the chicken. I could do without the arugula but either way, this option was great. Prices aren't bad; it's like $12-$13 a burger. I'll come back again for sure but not for a while.

We decided to try Hatched as we are in the area for take out or dining often and it was a new option to try. Seems they just opened and maybe need to get out of the soft opening mode. Ordered the breakfast burger, tater tots and and a sunny side avocado toast. We were told that they will call our name outside (no dining inside). Waited for 15min as it seemed it was busy with the weekend crowd. At last I had to go in to check on the order and it was sitting on the counter in the bag. Needless to say it was cold! The food was good but truly nothing special about it. Even the tater tots which were fried were not crispy at all!! Not sure if we will back...

I'm a loyal customer at the Sunnyvale location and was excited the family opened in Palo Alto because of WEEKENDS! The hub and I dropped by this morning. The service is quick and efficient. Seating is all outdoors. There was a constant stream of customers. I had no idea Roost & Roast was two stores down! YAY! We also read an article about the brothers and Mr. Chau's. Amazing back story!! We enjoyed our breakfast. Delicious and consistent with the Sunnyvale location. I enjoyed The Ono and the hub devoured his BEC.

    Garlic Parmesan tater tots
    Sophia C.

The garlic Parmesan tater tots are amazing!!! Definitely the best thing here. I tried the ono sandwich and it was very crispy and fresh, although the batter seasoning could be stronger. The coffee was also decent. Saturday around noon the wait for the food to come out took a bit due to several orders coming in online. There also isn't much seating in the area.

Highly recommend going early because the parking fills up fast, therefore, the seating in the coffee shop fills up fast as well. Our go-tos are usually an Iced Hojicha Einspanner and a pour over, Iced Americano, or an Espresso Tonic. We've tried their matcha as well, which is also solid! Every single time we have gone (which is usually when they open), there is already a line forming outside the door. Depending on how busy it is, we have waited between 12-18 minutes for our drinks (on the high end), but the drinks are always so yummy! They also have an amazing selection of pastries including an everything croissant, cookies, mochi, pistachio raspberry croissant, spinach and feta croissant, and a mushroom croissant to name a few! Their Hojicha Einspanner is sooo good. The Einspanner is so creamy and their Hojicha is the perfect, balanced amount of nutty flavors. Whenever I have ordered this drink, people are always eyeing to see what it is because the presentation is also that good! The Espresso Tonic is also a perfect summer drink and the shot was pulled perfectly. If you want to get some work done here, I'd highly recommend coming early so you can grab a table and to also bring your headphones because it does get busy and loud. They also have WiFi and one single bathroom. Thanks Covour Coffee!
